Phantom smiled, her eyes glistening with both pride and embarrasment at Tarkah's words. Kai chimed in, congradulating them. She lowered her head humbly, her eyes closed, as if a crown was being placed on her bow. "Thank you," she said softly. "Tarkah. We owe more to you than we can ever repay, me, Kadin, and all of Koran. None of this would've been possible with out you and Andre. May the Gods' light shine upon you for many seasons to come."
Tarkah then began to announce the new Betas. Kai and Exerci. They would do Koran proud. Phantom recalled the day when she and Kadin had been apointed as the Betas. She had been thrilled, both with excitment and fear and Kai and Exerci both looked equally as shocked and delighted. Kai words sent the warmth of a loyal pack flowing through her. "Kai, that was well said. We accept your loyalty and we know that you and Exerci won't let us down. I give you both my blessings."
The new Drappa looked at every one of the vargs of Koran, from the stripped Exerci to the glowing Tron. She loved them all, and was deeply proud to have asuch a wonderful family at her side. Her yellow, shining gaze fell upon Maverick, and she realized that there was one more anouncment to make. Her voice was heard once more.
"Maverick, beloved brother of Tarkah and former Dragga of the lost Frecne. Your pack and ours were always allies, and the dissapearance of your family has affected us all. Especially Tarkah." She paused, bowing her head in respect. "Brave Dragga, you have suffered a terrible journey. But even Man's stange cruelty could not keep you. You fough hard and escaped, and you made it back to us. Since your arrival, you have aided Koran emensly, and I want you to know that I admire you very much. Maverick, we appoint you as the Lead Warrior of Koran. May your indomitable strength and wisdom be passed on to future warriors. Train them well. And on behalf of all of Koran, we thank you."
The Drappa lifted her head, and the song that poured from her heart seemed to stir the pines around them. She was singing for Tarkah, for the lost Andre whom she was sure was here with them. For the pain of hardship and loss, and for the joy of the return of Kadin and Maverick. She was calling for the new day dawning in Koran.
