A new day was beginning to dawn in Koran.
Fenris was still buried within the distant horizon, but the fiery orb’s rays were starting to stretch skyward and melt away the vast carpet of stars in the east. The air was cold and still in the winter morning’s icy grip- only the sound of slowly stirring birds and the occasional breeze whistling through bare branches could be heard. All other lera- Putnar and prey- were silent in their shelters as they waited for the sun to bring a touch of warmth with the daylight.
A sound suddenly pierced through the tranquil air like one of Man’s hunting arrows. It was a wild and powerful cry, as ancient as the wind and soulful as a sonnet. The restful lera lifted their heads warily, for they knew that it was the song of the untamed varg. The call was coming from the edge of a rocky outcrop at the eastern end of the Koran pack’s territory. A white Drappa stood on the cliff, beckoning the rest of her pack to join her. At her side stood two younger wolves, one male, one female. The male had a pelt as black as raven’s wings, and he looked out at the words with eyes of gold. The female’s coat was dark brown- nearly black, and her eyes were pools of yellow flint. The Drappa’s call subsided, and the dawn grew silent once more.
Phantom scratched blackened claws along the rock beneath her paws. This was it. Tarkah’s reign over Koran had come to an end, and now she was passing her leadership over to the Betas- herself, and Kadin, her beloved mate. She leaned into his fur, drinking in his scent as memory flooded her mind.
She recalled her distant cubhood, how she had joined Koran not long after humans had slain her Kerl parents and brother. She had gained friends- Snowy, Kadin, Bryr and Roseki- and together they had enjoyed their cubhood happily together. She remembered training with them, and playing together at the dens. Snow had shown her a few of his healing techniques. She had hunted with Kadin many times, wrestled for hours with Roseki, and talked endless hours away with Bryr. The young pack grew quickly under the watchful rule of Tarkah and Andre. More and more faces were added to the pack, and it wasn’t long before Koran was at it’s peak.
But time has a way of changing many things, and not always in a good way. Members of the pack began to vanish or die. The cub, Ice, was first to be lost, taken by the rushing river. Playful Roseki vanished with a potential mate, and was presumed dead seasons later. Kadin had been injured by Man on a solitary hunting trip, and was thought dead for a full year. Andre left to seek vengeance on a small human village and was gone for a long time, leaving Tarkah a former shell of herself. Bryr had gone to lead Ge-Rad, but was overthrown. He had returned to his old packlands to take back his leadership, but failed in doing so. He never returned. Phantom unwillingly became a rival to Demon, Tarkah’s sister. When she was promoted to the Beta position, Demon was suddenly no longer a rival, but an enemy. Many disputes between the two females surfaced, and any attempt at peace ended in an argument. Koran’s neighboring pack, Frecne, sought shelter within Koran’s territories from humans, but, in the end, Frecne was wiped out. Markaz, the lead warrior and Demon’s mate had died. Demon left Koran soon after. Night Eyes, Amoria, Kahuri, Spectre, Midnight, and Tarkah and Andre’s litters had all left for reasons unknown. Andre finally returned to what was left of Koran, and, that night, the Dragga gave his last words.
Now Koran seemed to be healing. Despite the fierce season of winter, it was springtime for the pack. Snowy had growing cubs to add to further Koran’s bloodline. New members had been welcomed, and the pack’s numbers grew healthy once more. Maverick, Tarkah’s brother and the former leader of Frecne had returned to join them as lead Warrior. A gentle peace had descended over Koran at last, and now, it was time for the next generation to take over.
There was much for Kadin and Phantom to do. New jobs had to be announced to the new hierarchy. Disapline had to be maintained. There were youngsters to train for adult life within the pack. Hunts and patrols needed to be organized. Phantom was friends with Cwen, the Drappa of Ge-Rad. Perhaps they would visit and re-unite Koran and Ge-rad’s alliance. More wolves would join Koran in time. And, of course, there was new dangers and conflicts waiting just around the corner. So much to plan, so much to do…
But all they had to do now was wait- wait for the rest of Koran to come out of the shadowy woods and join them in the new day’s dawn.
//I gave a short history of Koran for the newer members. Plus I was feeling a bit nostalgic all day. And sorry of the godmoding, i didn't know what else to write. Okay, get posting everyone!//

The winds of change swept the lands of Koran, as they weaved through each tree and foliage that made up the borders of his home. Fenris would slowly ascend his way into dominance over the heavens. His light would bring warmth to whatever may fall into his touch. But for this moment, the skies above still held remnants of sparkling dots as they would slowly but surely fade away from existence. Just another example of the power that the wolf god held over the very skies and land he reigned over. An ivory prison had set itself over the land of Koran, covering the terra in fresh powder that Fenris would once again have to relinquish. Ivory paws carried a wise Varg along his patrol of the eastern boarders. So far things remained calm and unchanged to his golden gaze. Maverick had quickly gotten to learn his new home in the past several suns since his acceptance. For these lands weren’t virgin to his eyes. He had trekked these borders back when the title of Dragga lay firmly on his shoulders. But that was a long time ago. A summoning howl would pierce the heavens and seem to carry the capability to split the very clouds in two to the untrained auds.
Having raised his own ivory auds to the call, Maverick listened intently to the command being given. Ivory muzzle now pointed in the direction of Phantom’s song as his mind’s eye deciphered in encryption to which only Vargs could interpret. At once the ivory male sprinted off in the said direction, kicking up a flurry of snow in the process. Skilled paws carried his form across the world of white with unparalleled ease. Having been patrolling the eastern boarders, it would take Maverick no time at all too reach the source of the call. He would soon come to a halt close to a rocky protrusion. His golden gaze quickly finding the form of three Varg’s he recognized as his sister Tarkah, the Drappa of Koran, and the two Betas’, Phantom and Kadin. But what could be possibly happening that required the presence of the pack? Having now given his sister a proper bow of respect, he focused his attention on the cause of the stir. “Phantom!” Maverick replied after his bow, his tone regal as words escaped his ivory maw. The voice of a strong warrior emanated from his throat and formed words, for pools of intelligence and experience bore firmly on his gaze. “I caught your message, what’s the trouble?”

The morning was crisp, a true winter's sun was still no longer visible in the sky, but faint rays of light were beginning to burn across the horizon - painting it faintly, the blue awash with pallid yellows and oranges. It was almost like the day she had joined Koran, remembering back to her cubhood - when she was merely a little bundle of ivory fur with nothing better to do than run around and occaisonally enter the trees, a little, straggly runt without a family - at least, not one nearby. Now, so much had changed. At almost her full height and size, the femme was nearing the form she would take for the rest of her days. A lean she-varg, hopefully that way to stay.
Lazily opening her right optic, silver gaze viewing the cave that she resided in. Drearily, her half-awake mind tried to remember what had actually woken her. It dawned on her. A howl, wild, untamed, free. A howl that belonged to the Arctic Drappa, Tarkah - well, former Drappa if the howl told of what she thought it did. Slowly rising, stretching and shaking her thick pelt of the dusts of sleep, she turned her head in the direction of the call. Long, elegant legs carried her bodice from the cavern, before breaking into a sprint to reach the scene. 'It is time..' She thought, time for the Pack to roll over the duties to the next generation of varg.
Reaching the foot of the cliff, a smile painted her visage. Bowing her entire body in respect, she let her body once again come to stand. The sight that she beheld was somewhat amazing. The three varg stood atop the cliff, Tarkah, Kadin and Phantom all together. It reminded her of the fateful day when she had come to Koran - that day had been eventful. The first varg to greet the youngster was Phantom herself, and the tiger-striped tree climber had always respected her for that. The second to greet her, Tarkah, and after that she'd been introduced to many of the other members - many of which had since disappeared or left - but a few still remained. Those she remembered would always be burnt into her mind, no matter where they were she knew they'd be with her - her dear Packmates. Since, there were many new faces around Koran, and after returning from her own journey, she'd met many, including the newly appointed Lead Warrior, Maverick, and many others, including Kai, Tourniquet and one of Snow's cubs - Morrow.
Smiling up at the three varg, the former-Hyucha member couldn't help but feel the adrenaline pumping through every vein and artery in her tall bodice. Letting her feathered tail billow behind her at her haunches, she gently lowered herself to a sitting position, silvered spheres gazing to the three Leaders and the sky that stretched above them. The morning air seemed to have awoken something within her body, a new feeling she didn't quite understand. Like the scars that adorned her muzzle and foreleg, she would forever remember the moment that was about to pass - it would stay with her until her dying day, and maybe even further if that was so needed.
As Maverick's form came into view not too far from her own, she realised her attention had been focused fully on Tarkah, Phantom, and Kadin (well, it should've been but..). Catching sight of the Lead Warrior, nimble paws carried her over to his side, where she seated herself once more. Listening to his words, her gaze travelled back up the side of the cliff as she waited in silence, her optics doing the speaking for her at this point.

((Kai doesn't know Lead is taken in this post, but he'll find out soon, so no worries!))
The pale light of the morning sun wove its way through the bare trees, landing gracefully on the sparkling snow below. Soon some of it would melt away, but for now the chilled morning air was to ensure it remained for most of the day, at least until Fenris rose higher in the clear sky, giving more power to his golden rays. Spring would soon be upon the land of Transylvania, and Fenris would be ruler of the sky once again for a longer period of time, casting his warm glow over the land and bringing life back to the forest.
The ebon male's breath formed a swirl of light fog around his muzzle as he padded through the valley, his large paws leaving a perfect trail in the snow of the way he had come. The male was still young, only about three years of age, but he was also a formidable warrior. He had come a long way from where his tragic past had left him. Strong muscles moved smoothly beneath his streamlined frame of charcoal. Since Maverick was prone to patrolling the eastern lands of Koran, he tended now to keep to the western side. It made his job easier, since the new Lead Warrior was there to take on half the work. The morning so far had been serene and peaceful; no threats to his pack were detected whatsoever as his amber orbs scanned his surroundings. All was in its place, and he was glad to have the responsibility of a warrior to ensure it stayed that way. Perhaps his hard work would pay off and earn him the position he had sought after for suns: Lead Warrior of Koran.
The tranquil silence of the winter morning was suddenly broken by a piercing howl that rose to the heavens. His ears pricked forward at the beckoning call that summoned the whole of Koran to the source of the voice, his hackles bristled in anticipation. The voice sounded much like Tarkah's, the current Drappa of Koran. It held a certain strength to it, a power that demanded respect and commanded the presence of the entire pack. Only an important and urgent matter would call for such a howl, and he immediately rose his own maw to the sky and replied to her to let them all know he was on his way, even though he was on the other side of the territory.
Turning in the direction of the call, he tore over the snow so fast that it could have been debated whether or not his paws actually touched the earth. While he was well suited for fighting, his sleek frame also proved extremely aerodynamic and allowed him to travel quickly with ease, even through the deep snow. His quick gait displaced the snow in his path, causing it to fly outward as he ran to the east. His legs pumped faster and faster, adrenaline coursing through his veins with anticipation for the meeting that was about to take place. He only hoped it wouldn't start without him.
When he finally arrived, which didn't take him too long despite the distance he had to cover, he found himself at the base of a cliff, staring up at his Drappa and the two Betas. Already present were Maverick who had been patrolling nearby and Exerci, the overgrown Fae with the unusual striped peltage. As was custom, he dipped his head in respect first to the ruling Varg on the cliff face, and then to his fellow pack mates. "Tarkah, is there anything the matter? he asked with a serious tone of concern, still panting from the run.

The world just keep moving, life just kept on going. This was a philosophy Kadin had come to terms with over the course of the many months; everything has a season. He thought of it now as he cast a respectful eye on his admirable leader when she sung a melody that demanded attendance from the rest of the Koran wolves. Tarkah had aged, but had elected a modestly wizened facade instead of something as bitter as some portions and pieces of the years had been. Respectable. Intelligent. Merciful. Concepts Kadin hoped he could learn to shoulder in addition to the responsibility the new leadership was sure to bring.
He transfered liquid pools of gold to gaze now at his mate, Phantom. She had gone through many hardships already, and he thought once again how he had been a cause. At this, his eyes softened and he brushed his muzzle against her neck when she leaned into him. She too, showed him mercy. Forgiveness. He swiveled his bushy ears back and turned to look off along the cliff outcropping again with a content sigh as his beautiful mate stood beside him. Kadin was sure that she had more strength and endurance of the spirit than he.
Little wisps of his breath snaked into the cool predawn air in moderate transparency. Along the eastern horizon, a very shady river of pink was peeking from the lip of the far distant skyline when the first wolves began to arrive. The first was Maverick. The upcoming Lead Warrior had once been the Dragga of Frecne, a pack Kadin had very much been in awe of when he was a cub and it was still around. He looked forward to getting to know Mav better once formalities were out of the way, perhaps when the rank structure had settled a bit more.
Then, along came Exerci. A fine she-wolf to be sure, but another that Kadin was on none-other than mutual terms with. He watched as she made her way lithely to where they stood, and grinned at both of the attending Varg. Kadin wagged his tail, flisked his ears forward - and another one came around before he had time to make the greetings verbal. This one was Kai. A young, aspiring black male, a true warrior and a newcoming beta. And even here, Kadin felt a bit out of the water. The raven wolf saluted Kai's arrival with another grin, but mentally frowned down upon himself. It seemed as though Kadin had made just a fraction of an effort to get to know the members of his pack. What faith did they have in him to be a good leader?

[glow=red,2,300] A howl echoed through the terrain that had been declared by the vargs of this land Koran.A young adult lay lazily in the grass .Fenris' first rays beginning to relieve Tor of his nightly duty.Auds twitching creating a small flash of an almost neon shade of blue.He forced his head up so that his head was the only part of his body not hidden in some way.
"What now?"Tron muttered.
The odd varg figured it was a hunt and at his age he was required to join the pack in this activity,so it was not unusual that the pack was being called for so early.
"I hate early morning hunts"Tron grumbled bitterly getting on his feet and bolting off in the direction of the howl another electric blue streak.
He muttered arriving to the place the call could be trace back to where it's source was.Atop a cliff he could see three vargs.Maybe this isn't a hunt he considered in his mind the words almost came out verbally.Violet optics glanced at the three vargs. He instantly recognized all of them Tarkah whom he personally wasn't all too fond of due to the fact she had been so hesitant to let him join...because he was blue.Kadin a charcoal varg Tron was actually fond of him he could always count on him at times he thought of kadin as an older brother.Alas there was Phantom he adored Phantom she was so sweet and kind.Seating himself he looked at the three waiting for what he had been called here for,he would have asked had Tarkah not been around..... (Well I tried)[/glow]

((Assuming that Tarkah has said I am in...))
The black bitch heard the howls of many other from the pack. She lifted her muzzle and purked her ears. She sniffed the air and went forward toward the others. Blackstar was still very thin, but she had grown stronger over the course of a few black pelted skies. The followed the smell of Koran vargs and the howl of them over the snow and past trees untill she came upon them.
When she got there, she saw the ruckus. At the top was Tarkah, Phatom and her mate. Tarkah was crowing them alphas. She curled her lips and threw her black snout up into the air and let out a long howl. She new this day would come. Tarkah was strong and so was Phantom. You can only have one alpha. It had been Tarkah's turn, and now it was Phantom's.
((sorry for the crapiness...))

[woot done exams!]
Tarkah's muzzle lowered as she looked out onto the valley's belonging to Koran. She remembered when she looked over these lands, looking for the perfect place to call home. The days of feeling sorry for herself and depression seemed to have never happened as the white drappa seemed to have recovered a strong form. But now it was time for a new era. The seasons had changed and it was time for a new generation. Drappa. The word tickled the artic fae's mind. She was no longe Drappa of Koran. no. She was just Tarkah the white drappa. She and Phantom were so much alike. They were there for eachother through the rough times. They both lost mates and both mates seemed to came back. Tarkah was glad though that Kadin returned. She remembered watching them as pups, grow and blossom into the adults they are today.
Tarkah's golden eyes spotted Excerci. "Tiger of the arctic" The white she wolf let out a bark, to acknowledge the faes presence. She took in mind that she was here and then looked to the right as she heard her name. Tarkah turned to see a dark hued male. The drappa padded over to Kai and giving him a nuzzle. "Do not worry Kai. Just a few pack announcments
Tarkah cocked her head as she saw somthing blue pop up. The drappa quirked an eyebrow but soon she recognized the wolf as Tron. Wagging her tail the drappa let out a bark of greeting. Tarkah then turned her head to the sound of a call. It was from the newest member. Blackstar. Tarkah blinked before lifting her muzzle to send a short howl of a greeting to the black wolf. The drappa had let the ex-Dreogan wolf into the pack in knowledge that Demon had trusted this wolf. She would do it for Demon. But it did not mean that she was not still wary of her presence and actions. But trust would come with time.
The drappa looked around the clearing. They were perched atop Tarkah's favourite cliff. With a last minute count Tarkah concluded that they were missing Tourniquet, Abisso, Amore, Snow, now who else...

//Okay, I'm finally posting. Sorry for the wait everyone.//
Phantom ears swiveled forward and she lifted her head from Kadin's shoulder. Her tail began to wag as members of Koran began to appear from the shadows and into the dim early-sun light. She smiled at her mate, trying her best to hide the odd mixture of pride and nervousness flowing through her. She smiled at Tarkah, too, then turned her gaze to the congregating pack below.
Her heart soared as she saw all of them- proud and regal Maverick, loyal warrior Kai, tora-ge Exerci, friendly Takuto and the shimmering blue Tron. Some members were missing, Tourn, Abisso, Snow and his pups. But they would come in time. All present vargs seemed ready for the meeting but a little perplexed as to why the pack was holding a meeting. "Just a few pack announcments" Tarkah said. Phantom tail swished again. What ever would she and Kadin do without Tarkah? The scarred femm steped forward, as did Kadin, and together they walked to the cliff's ledge. She grinned at he mate, then turned to the pack.
"My friends," she began. "today is a new day for Koran. I've lived here since I was a small cub, when Tarkah took me in as her own. I've seen this pack grow from the seeds of two varg, then grow and blossom as the most beautiful flower does every spring. And I've seen it wither, and nearly die, too. But the pack has managed to be reborn, to grow and blossom once more."
She paused, then continued. "I'm proud that we've managed to overcome even the most dangerous of harships. And I'm proud to call all of you my pack, my family. And I'm proud..." Another pause, and an excited, yet terrified shiver ran down her spine. This was it. "I am proud that Tarkah has chosen Kadin and I to lead Koran into this new sun."

Takuto had heard the call and curiosity like always got the best of the bi-hued varg and as he came upon the others of the pack he tilted his head to the side. He felt that he was the last to arrive but that wasn't the case as he failed to see his two other friends in the pack. His ears swiveled forward as he heard Tarkah speak of having a few announcements that they were to hear.
He sat on grey haunches and listened intently to Phantom who was now speaking, then he realized what this meeting meant. A complete and new change for the pack...Tarkah was stepping down to Phantom and her mate though he hadn't met either one yet and only knew them by name. <<Eh not the best of my posts but it's something sorry I was late with it>> [/font]

Now seated on his haunches, it would take the rest of Koran some time to arrive to the cliff of Koran. Certainly something of great importance needed to be addressed to the packs entirety. But what exactly escaped the former Dragga’s thoughts. Perhaps it had something to do with the coming of the new season. Perhaps rumor of human infestation now plagued the terra, and this meeting was nothing more then a discussion of bad news, and the plans on what to do about it. Many other concepts passed through the arctic male’s mind, and only disrupted when his pack mate Exerci, had taken the liberty to sit by him. Stirred back into reality, he turned his golden pools of intelligence on the Koran scout, and greeted the Fae with kind words, and a smile to match. She was certainly unique to other Vargs, and held an aura of attraction to the former Dragga. Though he knew little about Exerci, aside from the pieces of information he could collect through his golden glare, Maverick made it a point to get to know the femora better in future suns.
But for now, the pack meeting took precedence over all other things, and one by one the Koran family began to emerge from the foliage of the land, drawn to the cliff by the summoning howl that still rang deep in the arctic wolf’s thoughts. His eyes now set firmly placed on the tip of the cliff; he intently watched the activity that took place before his golden gaze. An aura of anxiousness filled Phantom’s form, as she looked to his mate for comfort and reassurance. His own sister seemed to beam proudly at the two Koranians. Now there was mistaking what was about to take place. For Maverick has seen this ritual before in a time where he and his mate stood atop a similar setting. “So this is your plan sister?” Maverick spoke quietly to himself. A smile once again formed on his ivory muzzle. “You have chosen well.” He spoke again, his voice only audible to those who were around him.
With a nod of approval, Maverick awaited for the inevitable announcement. And soon enough, Phantom would speak to her family. Her voice filled to the brim with courage, and a hint of anxiety to which the wisdom of his experiences easily caught onto. After her speech was given, Maverick stepped forward from the Koran pack members. His paws crunching the snow underneath as he passed, and ultimately came to a standing halt. “Then to the new Dragga and Drappa of my family, I give you my blessings. And my oath as a warrior of Koran, that I shall always protect our home and our family. My strength, my wisdom, and my loyalty shall always be with the both of you, my Drappa and Dragga.” With that said, Maverick bowed his head to the new ruler’s of Koran in respect. For what Phantom said was true, a new dawn was to come.

Auditories swivelled atop the tora-ge femme's crania, and she turned her head as the footfalls of another member who was just arriving began to echo in the stillness of the air. Silvered eyes caught the arrival of Kai. Nodding her head back to him in respect, she looked back to the three varg atop the cliff. Smiling at them, she was just about to speak when another varg appeared, seemingly from nowhere.
Letting a small yip escape her jaws as she recognised the blue varg as her dear friend Tron, she let her tail wag slightly behind her before beckoning him over. The next to arrive was another fae, but she didn't know this one. She assumed she'd recently been accepted to the pack, but from the scent that radiated off her body this wasn't the first pack she'd been a member of. Smiling to the newcomer, she decided it best if she got to know her better after the meeting had finished.
Smiling up at Tarkah, who had barked to acknowledge her, she bowed her entire body once more. There was an undeniable feeling of change in the air, and for some reason the tora-ge scout found herself wondering if that was the reason Tarkah had called the pack together. And her assumption was soon to be found correct as Phantom's lyrics entered her auditories. The smile that spread across the maw of the ivory femora held respect for the newly dubbed Dragga and Drappa.
She hadn't noticed until that point, that Takuto had also made an appearance. Smiling at the warrior-in-training, she listened carefully as Mav spoke to the new leaders. Ah Mav. She'd first become aquainted with the former-dragga of Frecne a couple of days before, and had to admit that the regal varg was somewhat attractive in her eyes. After the Lead Warrior had finished his speech, the fae let her own lyrics be heard.
"I can remember when I first became a member of the mighty Koran. Phantom and Tarkah gave me a wonderful greeting, and I've watched our pack befall to change. And so, use me as you want - as a scout of Koran I will do whatever is needed of me. My loyalty will never falter, let me asure you of that, my Dragga and Drappa"
As Mav had done before her, the fae bowed her head in respect to the new Dragga and Drappa, and to Tarkah - the mother of Koran. She was sure that their choices would help Koran aspire further, and travel through the coming times without trouble.

Golden orbs smiled as she stepped back as her betas padded to the front. Black painted ears took in the speech and a warm flow of pride embellished her heart. The white drappa turned her head to view her brother, a warm smile on her black lips as the she wolf replied "Yes i believe i would have had no other wolves for the job". With the congratulations in the air Tarkah padded forth and stood beside Phantom. "I remember when Phantom and Kadin were just pups, and had first come into the Koran. Andre and I had just formed the pack and we took Phantom in, and shortly Kadin found us. I've watched you grown, from the frolicking pups who played every day with my son Bryrpaw and dear Roseki to the betas you are this moon. You have gone through hardships, rising and falling with whatever the gods threw at little koran. You've watched Koran grow and then crash and burn, being threatened to dissappear forever. But you have stayed with us through hard and happy times. She turned to Phantom "You've been with me during the rough patches of my time, from the faltering pressence of Andre and through the war and famine in koran/ We've been through things together where only we could understand the complexity of it all and I'm proud to call you my daughter. You will lead well Phantom, Drappa of Koran. And to you dear Kadin. You who have found courage not only to defeat the terrors of man but to also return stronger then ever, my dragga. " Tarkah spoke and with the fading of her lyrics her tail dropped into the flowing of the wind that seemed to sing to the Koran. And with the wind the arctic she wolf's front legs collapesed as she took a majestic bow saluting her alphas and the end of her mighty reign as drappa of Koran.
Tarkah then turned once again to face her packmates. "As you know with our Betas resiging with this title I am proud to announce our new betas.
Tarkah looked through the crowd to spot the black hued Warrior "Kai. You have grown nicely and you have trained well with me and Phantom to hold the title of a senior warrior. I remember you as a pup who had fallen under Zhentee's mighty wing and I will never forget the bond you shared with the Ge rad Dragga, for I had once upon a time shared the same bond. But you have shown great courage, respect and loyalty, and at this may everyone welcome you as the new Beta male of Koran"
Tarkah spoke her eyes brimming with pride as she herself had found a strong bond with the dark hued warrior. She then turned to the tiger striped fae. "Tiger of the arctic." Tarkah chuckled, "You came into Koran, your habits were odd but they retained a unique touch to you. At first I was skeptical, believing you would be another one of those wolves who would stay with koran for a season before moving on. When you left only then did it seem Koran needed and missed you. Yet you have returned wiser and more skillful then ever and captured Lead scout. May everyone welcome your new Beta fae, Tora-ge Exerci of Koran"
Tarkah spoke and then her head tipped her front legs buckled to give another elegant bow. And a new chapter of Koran had begun...

As Tarkah gaze him a quick nuzzle, it seemed to reassure the warrior's heavy heart. He was almost certain now that it couldn't be anything unfortunate they were all here to discuss; no news of man moving closer, nor rumors of The Balkar plotting to plow down their pack. There had been talk of Tarkah stepping down from her position as Drappa of Koran and passing the torch to a new carrier. Perhaps this glorious, sun filled day was the very one she had chosen for the act. Amber eyes scanning the growing crowd, he noticed more members had begun to arrive. Tron, the little blue wolf who had currently joined seemed still tired, the morning still being early. Still there was another, a young female with a pelt as dark as his own whom he had never even seem before; she must have also been new. It would be interesting to see how the whole pack reacted to the news, for he was eager to hear it as well.
Suddenly, Phantom, the Beta female stepped forward, as did her mate, Kadin. She addressed the pack as a whole and gave a short speech on how she had witnessed the pack grow, how she had seen a wide array of times shared by her family, both the good and the bad, and finally, she announced that it was indeed she and Kadin whom Tarkah had chosen to lead Koran into the future. He had to agree with Maverick, she couldn't have picked a better pair, for not only did Phantom and Kadin truly love each other, but the both of them displayed the leadership qualities needed to fill such a position.
Taking a step forward, he stared up admiringly at the two, his tail held low in obedience and submission as he parted his slender maw to offer his blessings. "Much congratulations to the both of you, Phantom and Kadin. There are none better suited than you to lead us, and I am eternally grateful for the existence of such a pack that holds such strong leaders and members within it. I, too, offer you my blessings and wish you the best of luck with your new positions." With that, he bowed his head low to the ground, his black nose almost scraping the snow, and stepped back into his place.
After Kai and a few other members had offered their loyalty to the new Alphas, Tarkah padded up to stand by them, and added her own set of words to the collection. The white Drappa looked older than Kai remembered seeing her, the tides of time had begun to take their toll on the benevolent Mother of Koran, part of why she was resigning her rule. Kai had always viewed Tarkah like a mother himself, being that she was so kind and accepting of him upon his first joining the pack and had continued to be so during his stay. He smiled up at Tarkah proudly, glad to be a part of such a wonderful and successful pack. Although it was the logical next step in the sequence, he had completely forgotten about electing new Betas. Eager to see who would be appointed, he never expected what came next.
His pointed auds perked up as Tarkah spoke his name, amber eyes growing wide nd his mouth dropping open. Oh no, he thought. She can't mean...me? He felt his face grow hot with embarrassment under his ebony fur as the former Drappa spoke amiable of him and his accomplishments. He had thought for sure Maverick, or someone more worthy than he would have walked away with such a title, perhaps letting him get by with Lead Warrior. What could he say to this? To such an honor he was not in his wildest dreams prepared to receive? He stood in silence for a moment, his stomach tightening as his mind whirred. Zhentee. What would he say to this? The crimson and ebon Dragga whom had been his first friend in puphood, who had taught him to hunt and to play, and how to accept the past for what it was and then move on. He had shaped him into the Mann he was today, for it was Zhentee who had brought him to Koran in the first place after having filled his young mind with wonderful, dreamy images of the wolves that resided there. The benevolent old Dragga had passed away not too long ago, and Kai had promised to make him proud. Now that he had found his place in Koran, he was sure that was just what he had done. "I...I'm not sure what to say, Tarkah. I am extremely honored; never did I think I would attain such a role in the pack, but I trust your judgment and if you think I can do it... then I won't disappoint you. I will do my best to make you proud of me, to make you all proud. I vow my unending loyalty to this pack, this family, as the new Beta male and eternal warrior of Koran." His eyes shone with a new purpose, it was as though he had stepped out of his old life and into a new one. Raising his tail in dominion and his maw to the heavens, he released a strong and beautiful howl that cut through the stillness yet echoed gracefully from the mountainside. He could almost see Zhentee smiling down at him from the sky as he had when Kai was just a pup, and there was no longer any doubt in his mind that he had found his place among his true family in the ranks of Koran.
