A cool wind ruffled the icory fur along a slender form. THe breeze sang a melody that was both soothing yet harrassing. And the drappa found herself twitching. Her paws ran yet everything was blurry in her vision. Where was she and where was she going? She could feel her heart beating in her chest, ready to explode and take her life. She felt dizzy now and voices seemed to be whispering to her, yet they were inaudible. She wanted to scream out to them. "What are you saying?" Tarkah could hear her voice echoing in her head. She could feel her head throb suddenly and it made the arctic she wolf wince.
THe images in her mind started to become clear at times. A flash. And she saw a faint flicker of fire. Another flash and she could see a man. This time the image held longer, there were several of these humans surrounding this small flicker of flame. THen it dissappeared and there she saw emerald eye starring back at her and then it became clear. There she saw her mate, young and almost scarless. He looked exactly the same as he had when they had first met. "Andre?" THe drappa found herself asking. But suddenly everything burst into flame. Tarkah cried as the walls of fire grew steadily higher. She could see the faint shapes of rocks and a forest, a forest so familiar yet stranger. But the image began to dim and the wind whistled meaningless words to her once more. Panick began to flood into the she wolf as she searched for the crimson illusion yet all she encountered were walls of flame. Suddenly The drappa felt herself falling as everything dimmed into black, the wind began to die and the only words she could make out was the heart warming voice of the male Tarkah...
TarKAW! Tarkah's body jolted. Kaw...kaw Head still spinning the drappa lifted it and her golden oculars took in her surroundings. And she nearly jumped out of her pelt when she saw the crimson body of her mate, inches away. Tarkah gasped before touchign the top of her muzzle to the cold and lifeless body of the crimson dragga. Eyes shut tight as she remembered the night before. And the drappa found herself coughign back non existant tears. Oh if only she was capable of crying, then perhaps she could release some of her pain in those tears.
Kaw! Tarkah lifted her head to see a group of ravens huddled i nthe trees as the morninglight broke through. She grunted as everythign began to piece back together. She had told her pack that she wanted to have the night alone to be with her mate one last time before his spirit rose to the heavens along the wolf trail. Now it was morning and she knew it was time to fulfill her mates last wish. But oh how...
Suddenly snippets of her dream came back and then she gulped afraid yet somethign stirred in her, telling her to be brave. And with the energy she found in her she lifted her muzzle and called for her pack, it was time to fulfill a wish.
(sorry for the bad quality, i have a bit of a writors block
right incase those who dont know this is the htread where we fulfill our draggas death wish. Go read "time to die" for the details. I'll write up the wish in my next post)

Phantom's eyes fluttered sleepily, and closed for a brief moment. Dark brown lids slid open blearily, revealing blazing yellow irises, clouded by a constant lack of sleep. They were bloodshot with mourning too. Grief for the death of her adoptive father. The Dragga of Koran, Andre.
"I fell asleep", she whispered to herself as she rose on her thin limbs. Guilt consumed her. After Tarkah had shooed the pack away to be alone with her mate for one final night, Phantom had nodded kindly to her Drappa, and joined the rest of the pack at the dens. The night wore on like a thousand years, and, as the young Betta's gaze shifted to her sleeping packmates, she worried terribly over Tarkah. Restless and feeling heart-sick, Phantom wandered away from the sleeping pack, back to the site of the great Dragga's death.
Her pawsteps had been slow and silent, ghostly as mist, as she walked. Her heart felt like it was aching, and she knew it was the same aching she had felt many times before. When her brother told her of her parent's death. When her brother was killed by Man. The disappearance of her friends. The vanishing, and the return, of her beloved Kadin.
When she finally came upon the corpse, she felt her heart sink into her stomach. Tarkah was sleeping fitfully, curled up tightly beside Andre's side. Phantom whimpered at the tragic scene, and backed away into the trees. She stood there, ridged and horrified at what she saw before her. But the horror melted away into sorrow. It was pure, bittersweet tragedy that lay yards away. The hero had at long last returned home with the last of his strength. His lover, angry at his absence had ran to be with him. Others had joined. Forgiveness was granted. Last wishes were spoken. Final breaths taken... And mournful howls rose to the heavens. A beautiful tragedy.
Phantom began to shiver as the sadness for the Drappa swept through her like a rushing river. She felt her stomach begin to churn and her head throbbing as her grief became a physical sickness. All at once the events of the long, dreadful day caught up with her. With a sob, Phantom's legs buckled, and she collapsed into the bramble. She lay there, with paw over her muzzle, her body shuddering with sobbing. The last of her strength ebbed away from her as she cried, and the she wolf soon slipped away into a restless slumber.
Now the horrid cawing of the ravens had roused her from sleep. She gazed wearily in the direction of Andre's remains. Tarkah was standing over her fallen lover, deep in thought. The Drappa lifted her head, calling for the pack to come together in the early morning light.
Phantom trotted foreward, head aching and listless in her movements. She nuzzled her adoptive mother gently, whimpering sadly as she did. Phantom cast a long glance at Andre's unbreathing body, then she looked back to Tarkah, yellow eyes brimming with a whirlwind of emotion.
"... It's a beautiful morning. I know Andre... would be honored to fly with the eagles on a day... on a day like this..." Her quiet voice cracked as she spoke, threatening to give way to more sobbing, but she held it back.
"...Are you ready for this, Tarkah?"

Should I go down now? Is t the right time?
She hadn't slept, eaten or moved from the crest of the hill she sat on, watching the red and white figure lie together. The night had brought a true surprise, and for a moment there had been the rejoice of seeing her dragga, but it was taken away just as fast. In hearing Andre was... dying, gave the she-wolf a blow she could not handle. So she ran, ran till she reached the hill and mourned his death silently and alone.
Why didn't I stay? I could have said good-bye! I'm such a coward.
Kahuri lowered her silver muzzle solemnly, and as she lifted her eyes back down towards that heart breaking scene she saw another figure stir and break from the shadows of the forest. Phantom. The dark colored beta had been there last night, she must have left Tarkah alone with Andre at some point in the night.
I need to go down now, I must bid my respects. He was... like a father to me, just as Tarkah is my mother and Phantom is my sister.
Taking a deep breath the blue hued she-wolf began to climb down from the rise, padding quietly through the woods until she paused at the wood's edge. She couldn't do it. But she needed to. She had to be strong for Tarkah now. Raising her head Kahuri stepped into view.
"Good morning Tarkah, good morning Phantom."
She whispered, slowly approaching them. As she walked the black figures gathering in the trees caught her eye.
Wolfbane's helpers.
Her upper lip lifted as a growl trembled in her throat, as much as she wanted to charge and howl at them to scare them from their tree she let it pass and forced her attention to stay on her pack mates.
Strong! I've got to be strong.
//This is Kahuri.//

THe drappa lowered her muzzle her song fading in the morning light as she her golden eyes fell to where her mate lay. Yet a smile came to her lips as she thought about the many moments they had shared. Her head turned to see a dark hued form approaching her.
Tarkah took her words in, holding her voice for the second before nodding, "I-I think I am. and if not... if I'm not I'll have to be" Tarkah spoke softly before her eyes lifted meeting her beta, "besides, I'll have you and kahuri, and the rest of the pack with me." Tarkah smiled and padded over to Phantom giving her daughter a lick on her muzzle before the voice of said she wolf came to her auditories.
Tarkah turned her muzzle around, optics focusing on a blue tinted she wolf. THe drappa smiled warmly and began to pad towards the storyteller. She had not been present when the dragga had passed but Tarkah had a feeling she had already known. THe arctic femme licked Kahuri's muzzle before steppign back to give her room. Another she wolf that Tarkah had watched grow from a young pup, a she wolf she too could call daughter.
The drappa now walked over to her mate's still form, golden oculars falling as she held her sadness, yet she was somehow able to find her voice "We must go through with Andre's death wish." Tarkah spoke, her voice trying to find a strong tone. It was as strong as she could speak, and at points her voice crackled threatening to go mute. "Today we must travel to Frecne, the deserted packlands between the Ge rad and the Deor. The packlands where Andre had grown up in." She turned to her two packmates. "There we will go through with this spiritual fire ceremony." Tarkah said, though she hardly knew what it was in the first place. All she knew was that it had a link to man. Fire frightened her enough and the thought made the drappa take a deep intake of breath. "We must place our dragga on a stone, and surround him with dried grasses. Then we shall set it alit with burning fire, and his body and spirit shall be free to fly among the smoke that ascends into the great skies" Tarkah spoke, it sounded as if she were telling a story to cubs. But no, it wasn't a mere story. It seemed truly unbelievable and impossible but Tarkah had to at least try.
Her eyes swept the packmates "Andre asks of his pack to join in this ceremony...will you be with me?
(im hopign to get this done soon ^^' )

The dark Beta nodded to Tarkah as Kahuri made herself known. Turning to the storyteller, she nuzzled her in greeting.
Tarkah began to speak of Andre's final wish. Though Phantom allreadly knew, the Dragga's final command held the same sense of wonder and hope that Andre himself spoke of with his dying breath.
His dying breath... the Dragga's very last words had been a command to Phantom. "Tell the pack I love them, too." She shuddered. Even though they held a message of love for Koran, the moment of Andre's last moment was frightening.
The Beta threw her gaze to the white Leader, her eyes tired and sorrowful, but pride was flickering within the yellow orbs. "Of course we will, Tarkah."

(right pretend everyones in Frecne now...*waves fingers* A WHOLE LOTTA TIME LATER...cause this thread'll drag on for a while heehee)
Tarkah scented the forests around her, her tail crooked in the wind as she padded through the abandoned Frecne lands. It had been vacant of pack wolves for a while and a new scent seemed to have reached Tarkahs nose. The scent of man. THe she wolf looked around somemore. What she looked for though...were signs of her brother. Her blood brother Maverick, his mate Keechak of Ge rad. He had been Dragga of Frecne after the great Kanis.
Though the arctic wolf had dissappeared without a trace and it saddened Tarkah to think that perhaps he had perished. But today she was here to do something else. The drappa turned back and travelled back towards her pack, where they had placed the dragga's body on a piece of slate. Luckily the frecne lands had contained many rocky outcrops. Tarkah herself could remember the great rock that Kanis had sat upon. Her ears flickered as she turned to her pack. "Now we must collect dry vegetation and place them around his body. Then can we set them aflame" Tarkah spoke, but where could they find such a flame? Tarkah pondered as she padded over to a thorn bush, her paws scraping the leaf litter and her jaws lowering to grab ahold of the drier parts. Padding back she layed them gently beside the male's body.

//Gawd I', still to lazy to log of! // A soft smile crossed her muzzle as Tarkah came over and gently licked her muzzle. This was a she-wolf who had endeared so much yet still held herself together. This Drappa was someone to look upon as a true idol. Kahuri lowered her head as she peered at the still Dragga.
Farewell dear Andre of the Koran. Your presence will never, ever be forgotten. No matter what. She bowed her head even lower as she silently spoke the words, she couldn't seem to voice, maybe it was because she couldn't, because the words were more like... feelings.
Tarkah spoke, catching Kahuri's attention once more. Her tone was stronger now. That was good. They needed to go to a place were many boundaries meant, the next part caught her off guard. Burn him? It was a way she hadn't heard of before, but Tarkah said is was his wishes- so she nodded confidently.
"To the end Tarkah." She whispered.
~~~~~~~~~~
The time became endless ye so short as they arrived. Kahuri's memory had failed to recall journey, she was to lost in thought. Tarkah once more broke through her distant mood. We must collect dry matter? Oh yes, for the fire ceremony. Taking a breath the limpid she-wolf began to pad about, searching for the brush that had wilted and died. She was left in a strange shock-like trance, moving mechanically. Pick up dry leaves and such, put then beside Andre and go back for more... It never occurred to her that they needed the fire. Until her emerald optics caught sight of Him. The red hued form laden with grass. The fire... where...? She blinked, then looked up at Fenris, still burning so gallantly. A strange image filled her head at that moment- a droplet of flame falling form the sun and alighting her Dragga's body. Spreading over him like liquid fire, then the form of a Lupine vanished into the burning element, but a winged beast arose, a bird like none that she had seen before with the two kind and caring eyes of Him, Andre. No sorrow marked them, they were young and strong. A piercing cry struck the air and swiftly the fire bird raced off into the heavens, vanishing with the pure white bodies of the clouds. The little tale drew a smile across her muzzle.
So that's how he goes... She thought, taking a deep breath and looking down at her companions. i just might have another tale to tell yet!
// woot, time warp //
Time seemed to fly as they carried the body of the Dragga to the abandoned packlands of Frecne. One secnond, the three drappas were standing in the Koran territories, and the next, they were easing Andre's cold body onto a stony outcrop.
The faint scent of Man brough Phantom back to her senses in time to hear Tarkah break the silence. Following her words, the Second Drappa walked a few yards away, searching for dry brush to feed the flames that would soon free the Dragga. Her legs seemed all to heavy as she brought back a few jawfulls of dried earth matter and placed them lovingly around her leader.
"When the human dies, his pack raises him on a large stone, and surrounds him with dried grasses. They strike two stones together, and they light the grasses aflame. The body of the human burns with this fuel, and is freed into the sky as smoke. If you will grant me my one last wish, I would be freed in such a manner..."
Andre's words flooded her mind, and Phantom spoke soflty to the Drappa and the Storyteller. "Well have to find two stones to light the fire." She turned away, her eyes scanning the floor until she found a good-sized hunk of granite. Taking it in her jaws, she returned, and set the rock beside her.
"No other varg has dared to create fire. It is against Tor's Law," Phantom said, baring her fangs in determination. "But we shall be the first wolves to even attempt to strike flame. And we shall do it in Andre's honor."
Set Andre's body aflame. Where could we possibly get such a thing? Snowfeather thought to himself as he helped Tarkah find some dry leaves to lay around the dead dragga's body. When Snow was just a young pup, new to the Koran, one of the first wolves he had bonded with was the great leader. Andre had asked him to patrol the borders and renew the scent markings. Nervously agreeing, Snow left with him, later joined by his old friend Roseki. Andre was a great leader. Blinking his eyes, Snowfeather found himself once agian daydreaming. I must find these dry leaves, so i can fufill the last wish of Andre. Snowfeather dropped the small pile of leaves he found at the foot of Andre's body and once again set off to find more.
Golden eyes surveyed the scene before them. Her tail curled at the fought of fire but Tarkah knew that she must overcome her own fears. mind over matter? The ivory she wolf hurried. Her ivory mittens carrying her towards a dry patch of dead bracken, her jaws fell over it as she carried it back to where her mate's still body lay, resting peacefully, and waiting patiently before he could take up wings and soar into the blue beyond.
The whole tas kwent quite smoothly, if not mechanically. There was not much talk as the solemn silence of respect crept into the clearing. Yet Tarkah lifted her muzzle as Phantom was the first to break the blanket of silence. The drappa dropped the last straws of grass and brush as she padded over to the dark hued beta.
Tarkah brought her muzzle low to sniff at the granite that Phantom had found. The drappa nodded as she tried to remember how she had seen a man lite fire before. It was odd. Strike two stones. and fire would magically appear. how strange it was. Tarkah looked to Phantom as she padded around the rock strewn grounds, thank tor that Frecne had so many stones. She sniffed around before she found another stone, that was the same as the one Phantom had found. Bringing it back to the beta Tarkah cocked her head. "Well, then we shall be written down in history" she spoke, the granite still in her maw. She was fearful about the law, an uneasy feeling settling in the pit of her stomach, yet something cooed excitement in her ear, besides they had to do it for Andre.
Tarkah padded upto the other piece of granite and with a thrust of her head she threw her piece at the other. Golden eyes watched as the two pieces collided, and at the moment of interaction tiny sparks flew everywhich way making Tarkah jump with a surprised yelp. She growled but after the sparks, nothing happened. She looked to Phantom, "Is that how fire is created? she asked, her eyes fixated on the light created stones.
A spark. Just a few chips of smoldering light that spewed from the rock. It was a start. All things began with something very small...
"Y-yes," she whispered, answering Tarkah's question. "This is it, how fire is made." Phantom was trembling now. So, this is how man birthed fire. But how does man control it? Well, no matter. They would find out soon enough.
"C'mon Tarkah. Let's do this. For Andre." The stone was struck again and again, and glowing shards of orange flew over the dried fodder. It got hotter and hotter, and eventually, smoke began to drift up wards. More sparks, and suddenly a flame rose. It ignited the grasses, and, very slowly, began to spread. It traveled through the dry matter, and around the body, gracefully and quietly. Within a few moments, the fire grew, eating up the grasses and coming closer to Andre's remains. The wall of flickering heat grew stronger, and now Andre's body was no longer visible.
Phantom stepped back to Kahuri and Snow's side, watching intently. The faint smell of burning fur drifted around, sweet and sickly. Andre was beginning his journey now. The Beta glanced over to Tarkah, smiling, attempting to comfort her. Then, she threw back her head.
"Andre, father of Koran," she growled, her voice strong but cracking with sorrow once more. "You have done for us more than you ever believed. You've been a great father, and Dragga... and a wonderful mate. You shall never be forgotten by us. So long as Koran exists, so long shall your story live on. Safe travels, father..."
She turned back to the pack once more. "Before he died, Andre instructed me to tell this you all. Andre told me to let you all know how much he loved every one of you." She sighed, looking back to the flame. The flame that they had created by defying the ancient law. Then she swung back to the rest once more. "Now, let us lift our voices! Let us all sing in celebration for the Dragga's life! Sing to show how much we loved him!"
And the Daughter of Koran lifted her voice high with the Mother and children of Koran. All were crying for the Father's death, singing for his life. A life that was surely not wasted.
//Oh man, done. Whoo. Sorry about the god-moding here. Forgive me for that, I really got into this post//
(loved your post phantom) Golden eyes burst into a orangy glimmer as it mirrored the image of the flickering light before her. THe sunset glow brushing off onto her ivory pelt as the drappa watched the flames engulf the crimson dragga. It seemed abnormal yet curious and amazed all the same. Yet sickening as the drappa watched the flames, as it licked and bubbled around his body, eating him.
Tarkah closed her eyes the words of Phantom flowing into her mind as she took them in, a pang of sadness caressed her as she watched the sparks rose into the dawning air. they circled and fell, swirled and swooped, fluttered and dangled in the air like a bird. And for a split second Tarkah thought she could make out an eagles form in the whirl of sparks rising up up into the air. But when the drappa blinked and looked again, it was nothing but a swirl of sparks once more.
Tarkah stepped towards the firey mass forgetting her fear of the deathly flames. She looked around her and she could see the faces of Koran in the background, lingering but staying away fro mthe fire. "A father, a dragga and lover. A soldier, a hunter and leader to all. But now you are a guardian. Never shall you be forgotten as your name will be marked for future generations to tell..the Father of Koran"
Tarkah dipped her head as the fire blazed stronger trying to creep its way out of the rock surface. She nodded her head to Phantom as she heard Andre's words being recited through the beta's vocals. "He was my mate and my dragga. Forever will I love him, and may he live on forever. Tarkah spoke as the fire crackled on.
She turned to the daughter of Koran and lifted her muzzle, jaws parted as a melody strung out of her vocals, tones churning into music as they curled and fused with the passionate fire and sparks, and the drappa sung.
