The pawfalls of an old member broke the silence that was held over the Koran grounds. A howl escaped her maw as she entered, calling to her comrades of her return. A long absense had unfolded as she had chased the mysteries of her past, but now she was home. Home in the land that she had been accepted into those many moons ago.
The seasons had changed and the adolescent had grown to be quite a she-varg. She was a young adult now, capable of many things. But the femme had a great worry hanging upon her heart. She felt as if the turnings of the world had lead the others to forget her, for her to drift into non-existence in their minds. Was she a figment of their imagination now?
Her soft pads crushed the snow beneath them, silver oculae watching for even the faintest sign of one of her fellows. Ivory pelt rippled over developed muscles, for since ther last appearance, the once lttle fea had become a magnificent drappa, large and strong.
But she still feared and the weight upon her heart was slowly killing her. That was the reason for her return. Guilt had woven itself around her heart and squeezed so tightly she had to notice, thus making her think to the mistakes of her life. And so, she had returned, to help the Pack once more and to stop herself from fading, she didn't want to loose all her friends and comrades..
Lowering herself upon her haunches, she let out another mournful howl. Awaiting the appearance of the Koran's members, she sighed and fell into deep thought.
[Sucky return post, but oh well]

// not as sucky as mine's gonna be //
A howl. That was the sound that reached the soon-to-be Drappa's ears. Phantom was on a patrol of the borders, sniffing all around for signs of intruders. A squirell here, a rabbit there, but no vargs forgeign to Koran's territories. Snow had fallen last night, and as she neared the sourse of the howl, Phantom could hear cruching pawsteps- both her own and the other varg, who howled solemnly once again.
She recognized the young female almost at once- the snowy fur, the silver eyes. It was Exerci. Phantom had not seen her all summer. Like most of the pack, she had probably gone to be on her own for a while. Winter really does bring the pack together, thought the Beta, chuckling to herself. She padded up to Exerci, her tail waving in friendly greeting.
"Hello, Exerci. You've grown quite a bit since I saw you last." Phantom tried to be cheerful in her words, but she could not ignore the flickerings of guilt in Exerci's eyes.
"It's very nice to see you in Koran again, Exerci," Phantom whined softly. "Welcome Back"

[Lol, it can't be as bad as mine! And it isn't] BIC:
Gentle footfalls. A familiar face. Phantom. A smile graced the ivory varg's features as she sat in the winter scene.
As many varg did when they aged, she had gained many markings and changed greatly since her last visit. Stripes of ebony darkened daily upon her spine, and her silver optics were changing to be a pale emerald. Her size had changed dramatically, from a sikla to almost that of a small bear.
Silver-green spheres viewed the chocolate figure of her old friend, wondering how long it really had been since they'd last met. Her friend bore a few more scars than the last time she'd been around, a fight maybe? She wouldn't know.
Bowing politly to the Beta, her silvery pelt rippled over her muscles as she strained forward slightly. The guilt upon her heart almost drifted out of the she-varg's eyes as she heard her comrade's cheery words, and she felt happy. She was home.
Jaws parted to let her lyrics roll from her chest, the soft lullaby that blessed her voice box.
"Thank you, Phantom. It is good to see you again too. It's good to be home. How has life been in Koran since I was last here?"
Words were friendly and casual, as if their last meeting was only yesterday. But as she watched her old friend, she felt the guilt squeeze her aching heart again, leaving her feeling awful once more. But still she smiled, trying not to let the past pull her down again.

"We've had a quiet summer," Phantom explained. "Snow and Nighteyes had litter of pups in late spring, so we have three new cubs. Two newcomers have joined us- Tron and Kai, and another, I think."
She lifted her leg and scratched at her ear. "Nothing much else has happened. But Snow's cubs have been keeping us all busy." She straightened up, gazing around the wintery scene around her. Pawprints dotted the snow here and there. Phantom chuckled.
"You're not the only varg who's strayed this summer. Some of the pack had gone off on their as well." She sighed whistfuly. "But, everyone is coming back now. That's why I love the cold seasons- the bring the pack together again."
She turned back to the white youngster. "So, Exerci. I expect you've travelled quite a bit. Anything interesting happen on your journey?"

Cubs. How wonderful for the Pack. The news cheered her up greatly, for she now knew the Pack was growing, not shrinking. But the icy grip refused to leave her heart, however warm the words of the soon-to-be Drappa's words were. A chuckle at Phantom's second comment, cubs coulod be a nightmare at times.
"Well, I expect they'll be doing that for a long time to come"
Her words were lightened greatly as she followed suit and lifted one of her hinds to scratch a niggly little itch from on her neck. Her auds flicked atop her head as she was finally satisfied, and she shook her thick 'mane' of fur that covered her nape.
"I suppose it is true, many leave and go to find some truths during the summer, but winter is not the month of sadness as every varg believes, but a time of happiness - because we are all reunited."
A pause, and then a far-away sigh as she recalled some of the events of her wanderings. Too many to tell, but their were some that were important to mention and get off her chest.
"My journey.. Well, a lot happened. I mainly travelled, taught myself to hunt better, grew - quite a lot I must say - and well.. I.. I met my brother again.."
Her eyes clouded slightly as she pictured the scene. The great castle of Wolfbane that sat atop the hill, he'd been there. She had seen the mann-varg with a pelt of ebony that was striped in crimson. A familiar sight, the sight of her brother. He'd been lead on his side, his breath quickened and rasping. She'd sprinted over, to help, where she talked by his side for hours. She heard his story, how he'd been looking all this time for her and now that they'd been reunited that it was time for him to pass on and leave.
A tear rolled slightly down her cheek, staining the icey fur darker. A sigh as she held back more and then spoke again, the words almost choking her as they left her jaws.
"He.. He.. He died.."

Phantom noticed the tears filming the white she-wolf's eyes as she mentioned her brother. There was a pause, and a small bead of sorrow fell down Exerci's face. She then informed the Beta of her brother's fate.
Whimpering in compassion, Phantom steped forward and nuzzled Exerci gently. Phantom knew all too well the pain of loss. Her Kerl parent's had been murdered by their former pack, and only months later, she had seen her own brother die, killed by man's poison arrows.
"I'm sorry for your loss. But, Exerci, remember that he'll always be beside you." That said, she pulled away. A breeze blew, cold and tremuolus, and a peircing cry called above them. Phantom look toward the heavens in time to see an eagle flapping gracefully above them. As it called again in the winter air, Phantom turned back to Exerci, her young eyes wise and welcoming.
"And never forget your family here in Koran."

Tarkah watched from her cliff. Her tail brushed the feathery snow. Her golden eyes blinked as her black ears pricked. Her heart skipped a beat as she listened for the howl that echoed throughout the snowy valley of koran. It was a littl more highpitched. And for some reasons it didnt sound all wolf. Tarkah rememebred the ivory pelt of Exerci. A smile surprisingly embroidered her maw and her tail gave an unatural thump.
The snow white drappa got up, giving a stretch she padded towards the source of the howl. Her paws crunched the snow underneath her as she stopped. Her bodice hiding behind a bramble and patch of trees and pine. Her eyes wandered to the border to where the hybrid stood. She had changed. And Tarkah was secretly hiding her pride that shone in her eyes of the young she wolf. She had gone through so much, and she looked stronger then ever.
Tarkah noted. She was no longer the lanky limbed pup of the summer. She was now an adolscent, and her poise reflected her confidence in her every step. She remembered when Tarkah let her half heartedly into the koran pack. She had thought the wolfdog would stay until she could pick herself up and leave. Perhaps Tarkah was once upon a time dissappointed that the hybrid had stayed. She knew Exerci had always been unsure around the Drappa. Tarkah didnt mind. She had judged her by what she was. But Tarkah shocked herself the most when the hybrid had decided to leave, to seek truth from her past. It was as if Tarkah had expected her leaving ever since she joined but at that moment she felt a pang of sadness that the she wolf had left. She would have said a farewell, yet the drappa could not find words. And so she only watched the hybrid leave in silence, sending a silent wish that she would be alright.
And Tarkah found herself watching her in hiding now. She was back now. So why was the drappa so hesitant to greet her. Perhaps because of the distance that they had drifted from each other. And perhaps how the arctic drappa could not find proper words to greet the femme.
Tarkah listened to her story as Phantom greeted her. Tarkah's ears laid flat as she saw her tear curtained eyes. The eagles cry echoed in her ears and she found her paws drifting through the snow towards the two she wolves. She faced Phantom, as she padded, her paws silent. Exerci's back was facing Tarkah as she stopped. Tarkah stood the cold breeze ruffling her fur as her maw parted to speak.
"You'll always be Exerci of Koran"

[Sorry for the long wait, our internet connection has been down (again)]
The she-wolf's pelt moved as a cool breeze made it's way through the clearing in which they stood. A large snowflake fell, landing atop the youngster's muzzle. Shaking her head from the sudden cold, she caught a familiar scent in her 'trils. Tarkah was nearby.
Phantom's whimper also shocked her and the comfort she recieved was welcome. A smile graced her maw, and for the first time since she'd returned, she truly was glad to be home again.
"Don't worry, I won't"
She spoke with a smile, silvery emeralds lightening considerably. And then thw kind, warm words of the Koran Drappa entered her auditory senses, the varg turned her crania with a widening smile. The femme of pure white, with ebony ears and golden eyes, my she didn't look her age. She looked like a true Drappa to the young she-wolf.
"Thank you Tarkah, I'm glad to be somewhere where I'm at home. My place will always be here."

Tarkah stood there, her white fur billowing in the cool breeze. THe white drappa smiled as her paws brought her forwad to touch Exerci's muzzle with thetip of her nose.
"I'm sorry about your brother" Tarkah spoke softly, her voice fading into the winter wind. Silence ebbed into the scene.
The arctic fea shivered her nose giving a twitch. She lifted her muzzle in the air, golden orbs blinked as another white speck landed on her nose, a cold sensation. THe drappa shook out her fur, as snow began to fall.
Tarkah smiled at the wonderful sight before turning her attention back towards Phantom and Exerci.

As the gentle nudge from Tarkah was sensed, a great pride flooded through the young she-varg's veins. The pride of Koran, her homeland. She felt as if she truly belonged here now, even moreso than when she had first arrived all those months ago.
At Tarkah's words, the adolescent nodded. In only a few more turnings of the earth she would be classed as an adult, and she was no longer able to be classed as 'one of the pups'. Although she may still be partly a puppy, her perona was a lot more mature than most at her age. She had gained wisdom far beyond her own years on her journey, knowledge that varied from fighting, to the use of herbal medicines.
Leaning back slightly and raising a hind paw, she gently scratched a niggly little itch that had made an appearance on her shoulder. Satisifed, she shook her thick winter pelt and smiled. A long, audible sigh escaped her jaws, and she cast a glance to the bare branches that interlaced above her, covered in a soft blanket of white.
"The life of a kerl is hard. I do not wish to experience it again. For I am here, with my Pack. This is where I belong."
Her words were quiet, but loud enough for the others to hear. They were spoken with true feeling, she ment them. For Koran was her life, and she'd die to protect those who had welcomed her into their arms.
