He had been rather elusive the past couple of months. The giddy little cub had wandered about the lands, outside of his new, or what he would still consider new, home and into unclaimed areas where he could mingle with other Vargs. Much had changed of this 'cub' since he had been seen last.
He was a large cub to start, at merely six months he towered over many of such age and could be considered older, and yet his cheerful demeanor stated otherwise of his age. But now, as an adolescent, a yearling, he was as large as a full-grown male, and one could guess that he was not through with his growth. Abisso's paws were still rather large, and his ears still were not grown in proportion to his head. The tri-hybrid was part Husky, part German Shephard, and part Varg. An interesting sort of hybrid within these regions, for more common was merely Husky blood rather than German Shephard.
He was a handsome creature, though, and with more months on him than previously encountered by most, he was more attractive than he was as a cub. However, there was still the cheerfully friendly glint in his tawny optics, and his maturity level had dropped. It was probably from his dog blood and the fact he lost his parents at an early age for the cause of his still cub-like attitude. And yet he was more mature than he was before, but it seemed to leave him a bit...dazed. His childhood was rapidly declining, and soon he would be tossed into the world of being an adult Varg in his prime.
And he did not wish for that to happen.
As of now, Abisso was rolling about in the grass playfully, pleased to be back. His entire scent was of Koran, despite being a lesser-known member due to inactivity. He snapped at the emerald stalks, allowing the bitter juices to fill his maw before spitting it out discretely in a gob of green goop, and covered it up with loam of Koran soil. Leave the grass to the Herla.
Rolling onto his stomach, the adolescent placed his long, handsome maw between his paws, eyes seeming to drift off into something of a neverland. Daydreaming, obviously, and unfazed by the horrors of the world. How blissful. How sad. He could not let go of being a cub, and that may cost him.

Fenris blazed warmly, while a cool breeze blew, keeping the lands from becoming too hot. Summer would soon come to a close. The carefree days of sunshine and plentiful prey would end. The trees would change color and throw down their leaves to the soil. The seasons were turning again.
The daughter of Koran's pawsteps were light and quick as she padded along through the trees. The scent of a young male drifted past her nose, and she soon caught sight of a familiar hybrid laying in the grass. Abisso, she recalled. She had met him when he had come to Koran months ago. She had not seen him since.
Phantom crept forward silently, her tail waving in greeting. "Well. You've certainly grown, Abisso."
She paused, eyeing him carefully. "I don't know if you remember me."

A familiar scent filled the cavities of his nose as he lifted his head. It was a she-Varg whom he had not seen for quite a bit, and his memory was quite fuzzy of her because one, some time ago and two, he had not been formally introduced to her and instead caught her name in a greeting directed towards her coming to the little group that had formed once before.
And indeed that topic was brought upon soon after Phantom stated her greetings to the young Varg. Abisso, being the honest adolescent he could be, stood up. Already he was as large as the full-grown female, and still looked rather awkward getting up onto four rather large paws. "I think I caught your name," he stated. His vocals had gotten to somewhat of a baratone, lowering with maturity despite him fighting back against natural causes. There was still something cub-like in the manner of which he spoke that made one shun away the thought of him being mature.
"Phantom...I think," his banner waved in the air as friendly as he could be, and his tongue lolled to the side of his mouth, giving him a rather dog-like apearance. "I've just been wandering about, making friends and exploring other lands!" He stated cheerfully, tail wagging harder. "Though I'm sorry for not being around...not used to being in a pack still."

//No, mine was horrid... I'm out of practice.//
"That's right," she replied as the young male got to his feet. Phantom smiled as she cast her gaze around his form. Abisso had certainly grown quickly. He was just as tall as she was, and his over sized paws and ears proved that he had much more growing to do. Many hybrids were a bit bigger than vargs, but Abisso seemed destined to tower over all the pack members one day.
Phantom laughed a little as Abisso explained his absence. "Well, summer is the time for exploring. A lot of young vargs leave their packs for a while to do just that." She paused. Phantom was two winters old now, and though she was still young, the days of her cubhood seemed far away. "Even I did, not so long ago," she continued.
"You'll need to learn to stay closer to the pack," she advised, her words firm. "Winter will be upon us before you know it, and all vargs must be within the packlands during the cold season."
//Aha! That's better. My brain is working again.//

//Hopefully mine will be, too... // Ears twitched slightly back towards his skull before regaining their usual pinned-up manner of intently listening to his surroundings. This was to show somewhat of a disappointment towards himself and his manner of leaving the packlands so often.
He lowered his head for a moment, murmuring a sorry. In fact, it looked somewhat strange for this large yearling to pose as though he were a cub being scorned by either mother or Alpha. "I'll try my best to help Koran out."
However, being the oh-so chipper Varg he was, his comeback of a moment of displeasure in himself turned back to a raised head and a chipper attitude. "I will do my best!" He says, grinning. "In fact, I'll try to be the best Varg in this pack!" Of course, he set his goal a bit high, for Koran was bubbling with outstanding members, and he was still rather new to pack life. He could not, perhaps, be the best Varg in the pack, but try to be a better Varg to his pack than before. SIlly little thing, though one couldn't help but admire his quick bounce-backs and love of life.
Of course, that could possibly change with time, and no doubt will he grow serious with age. But for now, it could be understandable. The loss of his parents didn't put a hole in Abisso's heart, and other than that nothing bad or horrific happened in his life. No death of a friend, no run-ins with cruel Varg. It always seemed he was surrounded by loving Varg, and he did not mind the least that he knew naught of the terror of the world.
As stated, though, this could all be more the reason why one could change over time, especially him.

The second Drappa smiled at his enthusiaum. "Now that's pack spirit," she chuckled.
"Hmm. Is there any special job you'd like? Hunter, emisary?" Phantom asked, cocking her head to the side. "I could recomend you to Tarkah, if you work hard."

The youngster's banner wagged in his still ever-so-friendly manner, he was beginning to like the Beta of Koran. Unlike most Varg, who would merely just scoff at his playful attitude and state that was how fools were brought up in such a manner, Phantom did no such thing, and instead allowed the cub's antics to abound.
Upon hearing her inquiry, he withdrew his pink tongue back to the depths of his long jowls, appearing in thought. For a single moment in his life, Abisso was thinking things over, for within that large skull of his, mixed with the playful and moldable brain of a dog was the strong, intectual mind of a Varg. However, that would probably make him more easy to train, and a much more reliable pack member, for he was still at somewhat of an early age where his dog-parted mind could be molded to such, and Koran could find itself a male Varg who the Alpha waas looking for, with all the traits she could ask.
After a moment or two of thought, his mind had been retracing the stories of pack life told by his hybrid mother, and the one job that seemed to bring most honour was that of a warrior. It was the first logical thing that Abisso has ever thought of, for even now he was that of a warrior's build, and with his pending height that would surely grow further, and his muscle that will surely progress, he would be a perfect candidate for a job.
"Warrior..." he stated, original puppy glow returning to his once-thoughtful gaze, "I would like to be a warrior." What a bold choice for such a yearling.
//Bah, 'tis bad. But I promised you a post.//

"A warrior," she repeated, looking him over carefully. "A very honorable position. To fight for one's pack is said to be one of the best thrills a varg can experience."
Phantom trotted closer to him, prodding his shoulders gently with her muzzle. "Well, we'll have to train you up, of course. But you're a big varg, and size can be the difference between life and death in battle." She grinned and sat on her haunches once more. "But strength isn't all of it. You must train your mind too, so you'll be able to predict your enemy's moves. And there's also the burden of protecting the pack. It's a grand thing, and it takes a brave soul to carry it along with you."
She smiled at the youngster. "If you're sure of this, then you'll have to train hard."

The cub grins, looking at the older Varg with a twinkle in his eye. He was a willing Varg, and fact that he had to train hard didn't seem to faze him. Perhaps that was a good thing, considering he wasn't hesitant to jump into most situations. Of course, perhaps it was a fault as well, for being cautious never hurt either.
However, this yearling was ready to be honorable in the pack, and being a warrior seemed it. Something within his heart told him to go along with such, and his heart never failed him yet.
"I think I'm brave enough," he said in a cub-like confidence, "And I am willing as well as sure. I want to be a good pack member, and I feel that is the sort of job that fits me."
/Aarg! The shortness...-.-/

(hehehe, I couldn't help but reply. hope you two don't mind if I intrude)
Though the sun glittered warmly in a pale sky, the cool breeze that flirted about across the valley was cool, warning of the winter that was swiftly approaching. Even now, one could smell the sharp scent of that strange, chilly season in the wind. Kadin dropped his muzzle from intently inhaling the air, his fur ruffled by a passing zephyr. The air was growing crisp, and it made him feel all the more alive. However, it was this particular feeling that made him instinctively seek the heart of the pack territory and his pack. He was glad to be back in any case.
The raven male took a light, easy lope as he decended from a small hillock, his pointed ears twitching and his bright eyes surveying. Two years had taken its toll on the beta, but his heart was still young and strong. Kadin's slight limp all but evaporated as he elongated his stride, and that cursed scar forgotten as he charged down, gaining momentum and speed. It was the clove of seasons, and one of his favorite times of the year.
And then a particular smell caught his attention, and the wolf skidded slightly as he came to a halt. Just over the small rise to his right, two Varg conversed. He grinned wide and soft as he recognized one, and his ears laid back on his skull as his eyes narrowed mildly. The scent of his mate beckoned him over the rise, and made his mood soften a bit more for the other Varg - whom he recognized not. Ah well, it was the perfect time to meet the pack members he hadn't the chance to earlier, as they would be the group who would huddle in the cave together during a blinding blizzard, or hunt for when food became scarce.
Kadin trotted up over the mound and beheld the mottled brown femme that he had fallen in love with aside a strange looking character. With a quick wiff, he determined that the towering male was Koran, and Kadin relaxed his shoulders a bit. A lopsided grin creased his maw as he padded up to them, his ears twitching and his tail wagging to and fro in a comfortable rhythm.
"Phantom!" Kadin growled lightly, padding up to his mate and bumping her shoulder with his muzzle. He turned his attention then toward the younger - though exceptionally large male. His grin faded a little, but only because of the curiosity the beta felt toward the stranger. Kadin was in a very lighthearted mood. "Hello there. I don't believe we've met before... at least not properly." Kadin said falling back on his haunches and cocking his head at a slight angle. "I'm Kadin... so, what were you two up to before I showed up?"

Phantom chuckled happily, her tail waving. Abisso certainly was very determined. "Alright, Abisso. Warrior it is then! We'll have to talk to Tarkah about it, but you should be able to train as soon as possible." She smiled. "Koran could always use some new warriors."
She turned her head as the scent of her mate drifted in the air, just to time to see him appear out of the brush. She nuzzled Kadin gently, breathing in his sweet scent. "You're limp is gone," she murmured to him. The horrifying arrow wound had healed, and Phantom was overjoyed now that Kadin would be able to run beside her once more. She straightened up at his question.
"This is Abisso, an aspiring warrior of Koran," she said, looking back at the oversized pup. Pride filled her soul. For Koran to have such loyal members, even at a young age, was a wonderful feeling.

The cub nods his head briskly in excitement at the Beta female's response, before turning his large head over towards where a newcomer approached. Banner waving like a flag caught in winter's wind's, he allowed his tongue to loll out of his grinning maw once again, as though he had no control over his actions.
From the way the two reacted towards eachother, his cub-like brain, intellictual in its own ways, he could pressume that the two were more than just friends. And if such facts were true (and indeed they were, though where was he to know of this?) then this mann must be the male Beta. About to answer the male's, Phantom so kindly did so, saving his jowl movements for other such things.
"Hey, Kadin!" He yips, having enough decency not to leap up and instead remained 'cool,' well, collected for his normal attitude, despite the loose tongue and wagging tail, and a goofy expression planted on his face. Oh yeah, Abisso was the definition of cool...sarcasm speaking, of course.
Neading the loam with his front paws, in attempts not to fidget, he tried his best to remain planted on the ground, so he wouldn't knock over this older Varg who was around the same size as him, but Abisso was the same size to almost any adult Varg. "As you heard, I'm Abisso. We were just talking about where my place would be in this pack, and I chose warrior, proud to serve my pack!"
My, what a noble and bold cub.

Kadin nodded toward Phantom as she mentioned his limp. He was glad that the wound was healed and he could be a true Varg once more - capable of any physical task nature demanded of him. However, he was still gazing at the large youth before him, his ears flicking to listen to Phantom speak for him, then for Abisso to explain himself. Kadin smiled, also grateful for the loyalty that even youngsters of Koran possessed. It was a powerful feeling to know that your family had your back.
"Hey Abisso. So, you want to be a warrior huh?" Kadin said, chuckling slightly as he noted that the youth seemed to be rather fidgety and full of good-nature. Kadin's grin grew again. He was glad that Abisso - despite having chosen a grueling, though, often rewarding position among the pack ranks - was not a serious youth and still possessed that puppyish charm. Kadin was intrigued by Abisso's seemingly unending flow of loyalty, and his attempts to remain 'cool'.
"Well, I think you're fit to be a fine warrior - wouldn't you say Phantom?" Kadin growled blithely, turning his bright gold eyes to his mate for a moment, before he stood on wiry, strong legs and padded a pace or two closer to the young Abisso. The black wolf was initiating a game, as he could see that Abisso was having a hard time trying not to do the same and bowl him right over. Kadin, however, was still a youth at heart and would enjoy any time of fun he had with the members of the pack. Besides, not only would it be good excersize, but he could see first hand what Abisso was all about.

//Eheheh, sorry for the LONG wait! This is going to suck...//
The older Varg was tempting him, and though his mature part of his brain stated to hold back, the cub within him sprang into action. Of course, this was considering there was only a tiny atom of maturity in his mind...but that could grow...eventually.
Acting as though he was loaded with springs, the cub-like yearling yipped, taking action into the intended game. Strong powerful backlegs caused him to kick up dust as he lept towards the older Varg, with a playful urge to get him to wrestle, as a cub would do with another. Fortunately for Abisso, this was an adult varg, and rough play wouldn't do much harm to him as it would if he, let's say, did such to one his own age.
Abisso knew how to control himself when it came to playing, allowing his bites to simmer down so none would face the wrath of his seemingly iron-clad jowls. It was a small leap, just enough so he could attempt to tackle him over. That was unlikely, for though this was a game, and Abisso was skilled in that area, Kadin had more experiance with fighting, so it would be rather hard for this adolescent to bring him down, even though he rivaled his size.
//Yup, it sucked...//
