((Continued from 'Wings of Love' in GeRad. I wasn't sure if Swallow decided to bunk with him or not. I can change it if I have to XD)))
Kai bounded across the border dividing GeRad and Koran with long and graceful strides that contradicted his now gloomy and dreary outlook. In no time, he broke from the forest into the open land of Koran, and bolted into his den, hidden from the world. It was there that he whimpered under his breath and mourned silently for his lost friend. Should he have stayed with the others and mourned with them, rather than imprisoning himself in solitary confinement? Something told him, No, this is something you must go through on your own and so, he had fled.
Feelings he had never experienced before flooded his being, along with thoughts he had never considered. It was like a dark veil had been placed over his face and he was seeing the world with new eyes, ones that were dull and marred by the snares of depression. In fact, his normally glossy and shining amber orbs had lost their spark and no longer reflected the lighter side of his personality. It was as if he was a completely different Varg, and from just one experience? The thought was sickening, how pathetic he had become, and at the same time, he felt helpless as hough he could do nothing to hit the fast-forward button through the grieving process. For the time being, he was stuck in his self-dug ditch of despair, and might even leave the pack lands for a while if things got too bad. The last thing he wanted was to drag others down with him, especially when they saw what he had been reduced to.
Throwing his ebon frame to the ground, he lay there, thinking, wondering if he would be feeling any different had he not taken Zhentee's existence for granted.
You are a Warrior, you have to be strong for your pack! Think of all Tarkah's gone through, for Fenris' sake! You think you are the only one who loved him?!
A voice in the back of his mind kept screaming at him to pull himself together, and he knew they were the exact words he would hear from the rest of his pack as well, though he wasn't entirely sure it could be done.

Zhentee had just died. The thought had hit Amore with full force when she was chasing Kai. Moments before she had set off, the old Dragga had slipped away from his body, wishing everyone around him goodbye. Phantom ahd led a howl, Kahuri and Tarkah joining in, a wonderful melody to send Zhentee on his way, and Amore had joined in. The white fae had been shocked by how her howl had not been distorted by the usual barks half-way through, a throwback to her Mother's side of the family, the huskies - it seemed warped and twisted that such a beautiful miracle should happen at the same time a dear friend had passed away. Amore had noticed Kai run away, grief-stricken, he had fled the scene, and, followign her compassionate morals, the pearly Hybrid had followed him, hoping to comfort him, not allowing any time for her own mourning. Wet leaves slapped her face as Amore raced through the Kerl lands and crossed the familair scent border into Koran territory, her home. Kai's scent trail was hard to find now, for many fresh and old scents criss-crosed over his, Tarkah who was most strong due to her dominant position as Drappa.
Finally, Amore found the trail and continued to follow it, nose to the ground like a hound. It was a straight direct path, obviously Kai knew where he was going, and it soon led the white fae to a small open area, where long grass slightly obscured Kai from view. However, Amore's sharp azure eyes soon picked out the dark Varg lying on the ground, his eyes squeezed shut, silently grieving his lost friend. Saddened to see the Warrior looking so depressed, Amore lightly stepped forward so that she was standing above Kai. She opened her mouth to say soemthing, but no words came, for what words of comfort could she give to a stranger. Instead, Amore crouched down beside Kai, her white fur lightly brushing his. She nuzzled his neck, trying to offer what little comfort she could offer.

His velvety auds caught the sound of approaching footfalls, though i did not register in his mind until Amore was already standing over him. His nose told him before he even opened his eyes that it was Amore, for her dog-scent mingled with the scent of wolf and clung to her as tight as her pelt.
Kai had never been one to tolerate dogs, not to mention hybrids, but Amore had seemed nice enough, though they had never really met. Perhaps she could help to melt his prejudice? After all, she had been a close friend of Zhentee too, and a fellow pack mate of Koran. There was no way he would be able to disrespect her, even if he had wanted to. Opening his amber eyes, they stared up at her dully and without their former shine. She seemed to be masking her similar feelings of sadness, but for what? To comfort another? How selfess... he thought to himself as he stared at her ivory pelt, admiring her beauty. Perhaps they could help each other through the grieving process and emerge better than before? It seemed a faint light through the dreary darkness of his world, but at least there was a chance.
It seemed neither of them could find the words to properly fill the silence, so instead, Amore lay down beside him and nuzzled his neck. He returned the gesture by nuzzling back, and for the first time in a long time, felt understood. In the moment, no words were needed to express what they were both going through. Much to his surprise, he found company soothing rather than taxing, as he had figured it would be. How selfish of him to leave the others when they were experiencing the same thing! He let out a soft whimper at the thought.
"I...I apollogize... I didn't mean to leave you all back there, I just don't understand...why this had to happen."
This isn't how a Warrior should act... Afraid of the world with only a Fae to comfort you...
Despite his thoughts, he was enjoying Amore's company, and was even glad she had come to find him.

"You don't have to feel guilty about leaving us," Amore said softly, understanding his reluctance to share grief with others, the pain that overwhelmed him. She was about to say more, but refrained from doing so, feeling that it may be patronising to explain further. At such sad times, it was better to give the bare facts and not go into insignificant details. "I don't think we've met before, I'm Amore." She introduced herself, unsure if there was anything else she could say. What was there to say in response to his words without sounding unfeeling. "I guess it was his time to go. Remember, he was so very very old, most of the figures of his past had already passed on, and he had a great life, right up until the very end. We'll all miss him, but at least we know he's happy with his old friends, and of course, his Drappa." Amore did not know much about Zephyr or any of Zhentee's old friends and family who had died. She only really knew about the live ones, the ones in Koran and of course Tarkah, an adopted Daughter of the saintly Dragga.
Looking at Kai now, Amore could tell that he was unhappy at the way he was acting. From what she had heard from others, Kai was a Warrior of Koran, and the white fae - sensitive as ever to other's feelings - could tell that the dark Varg thought his behaviour wasn't the way he should act, that a Warrior never acted the way he was now. It was sad that he should believe that, it was sad that many Warriors probably did believe that, and that they all tried to bottle their emotions up inside them. "Even the strongest Warriors need to let it all out sometimes," The pearly Hybrid's vocie was still soft and reassuring. "You're not the first and you won't be the last. Don't bottle your emotions up inside you, its unhealthy." As she said this, Amore bumped his head with her maw, pretending to be stern.

((I apologize in advance for the horrible posting to follow... I'm not really feeling like Kai lately...))
As the hybrid Fae introduced herself, he couldn' help but notice how appropriate her named seemed. She was so caring, so selfless! Bowing his head slightly, he spoke in a relatively smooth voice to introduce himself.
"I'm Kai, nice to meet you."
Short and sweet. An awkward time for introductions, but it was also a must, especially if they were going to try and conquer this together. Letting out a sigh, he listened to the soothing tones of Amore's voice, recalling his first encounter with Zhentee for what seemed like the hundredth time that day. He recalled how proudly he had spoken of Koran, his new homeland since his end of ruling GeRad. How he had reminised of his mate and cubs. He must be in a better place now, roaming the heavens with Tor and Fenris and all of his old friends.
Somehow, Amore had read his mind, whether through his expression or from past experiences with Varg like him, and it managed to shock him. Letting out another sigh, he agreed that she was right, at least, partially. That there was no use in hoarding one's bad emotions when one could actually end up feeling better just by letting them out. With a small, lop-sided smirk, he spoke again.
"Thank you, Amore, for everything. You are a true friend and healer."

((I wrote humped in my last post!!! I meant bumped!!! Anyway, its modified now...))
Thank you, Amore, for everything. You are a true friend and healer.
Amore's smile was small but genuine and sweet. It was a nice compliment - in fact, it was the first time a true wolf not related to ehr by way of her Father had complimented her. With Drathlic and Kop, the white fae's first friends, neitehr of them and made a special remark like that. Of course, they amde the general polite comments such as You're looking well, and many others, but neither had addressed ehr as a friend, it was common knowledge buy the way they acted with each other. Also, it was the first time someone had noticed her healing abilities. It was nice that someone had noticed, and it was a blessing, a gift, to be able to heal the hidden wounds many carry in their hearts. Thanks," Amore said, a little shyly considering she had just read into Kai's eyes and body language to get close and comfort him. They were strangers really, and barely knew each other. But they had things in common, the friendship of Zhentee, the same grief, the same Pack.
((Sorry for shortness.))
