~Amaroq approached the edge of Koran territory, where her old friend, Tarkah, ruled. Stopping briefly on the border, she threw back her ebon muzzle and howled, warning Koran of her arrival. Dropping her head, the fae trotted into the packlands, ears alert and head questing from side to side. It was so good to be some place reassuringly familiar. The last time she had been here had been a disaster....she shoved away the thought and continued on, eager to see and talk to the arctic Drappa. Perhaps she would stay awhile here...~ ((Too, too short. I'm just a bit rusty at RPing. ))

Tarkah milled about as usual but the skies brought a sign of comfort. It felt as if spring would be here soon and it also seemd as if the lans of Translavannia had all breathed a sigh of relief. They would have survived another harsh season of winter. Or soon it seemed. Tarkah raised her head , her golden eyes glaring at the blue tinged skies and smiled. It had rained recently and the humid smell brought a strong scent of fresh mountain pine. Tarkah smiled, her white fluff of a tail wagging eagerly.
The snow white drappa got up and padded a few steps in the snow that was now not as deep as it had. Though it was wet it brightened the alpha's day. The snow was melting. Thaw would follow soon after and buds and greens would shoot up. The forests would be green and lively again.
Just then a greta howl rose above the bushes and trees making Tarkah's ears perk with alert. Tarkah couldnt help but let her hackles raise on end as she walked forward on tense, stiff legs. Who was it? Not awolf of Koran yet a howl that was familiar. It was a howl of blessing, not a howl of anger nor attack. Tarkah began to bound toward it, kicking up the snow as she clambered toward the beholder of the voice. Her golden eyes swept the moore as she slowed her pace. THere not far away stood a dark pelted she wolf. Tarkah raised her head, her tail shooting up as she raised her chin in authority. Who was this she wolf?
Tarkah studied her longer and padded closer and closer, the she wolfs scent wafting int othe drappa's nose. It started to get clearerand clearer. It was a wolf from Tarkah's pup-hood. Tarkah's eyes focused on the wolf and she frowned before jumping up with a yowl. "Amaroq! is that Really you?"Tarkah said with a gasp as she flung herself toward the she wofl and gave her an affectionate nuzzle before backing a few steps and smiling wide eyed. "I have't seen you in moon..seasons! where have you been!?"

~At the sound of a yelp the black wolf swung around, her teeth bared in a snarl before she realized this was not her own territory and the wolf rushing towards her was familiar. "Tarkah!" she cried happily, bounding to meet the snow white Drappa, her paws splashing through the melting snow. Amaroq gave her friend an happy nuzzle, her tail wagging furiously.
She had thought that the ghosts were there to stay, that when she saw glimpses of Tarkah and Demon in the trees, eyes blank and insubstantial, that she would return and all she knew was dead and gone. But they were alive, and seeing them tooka huge weight off the fae's back, one that had dogged her steps for moons and clung on such stubborness that Amaroq thought she would never be free of it. But she had forgotten the first thing about the Searchers, the most important thing...we are like your memories.
But those memories (or nightmares) seemed so far away this sun, with Fenris smiling down on the world and coaxing spring back to the land.
Amaroq smiled at Tarkah, though her golden eyes still held hints of fear and sadness. "I travelled north, to try and find any remnants of my family...and..." she paused a moment, then continued softly, as though feeling her way across an ice-bound river, "...and I suppose I was also running away."~

Tarkah howled in delight as she met the ebon hued she wolf. Tarkah watched her out from her godlen orbs and she could see an experienced she wolf. Beautiful and grown up. Memories flooded back of earlier days. Of playful days, of sunny days and the rainy days. Days of no worries and days of joy and happiness that surrounded that of puppy hood.
Tarkah smiled gratefully and nuzzled Amaroq. It was hard to even recognize the grown up fae now, but her scent now over whelming Tarkah's scent glands, was unforgettable.
Tarkah stood there, worry flooding into her eyes as she listened to the black fae's explination. She nodded, "Oh Amaroq..." she murmered. Tarkah too had lost her family. Though was lucky enough to find her blood brother Maverick, once dragga of Frecne. Now both him and his mate were no where to be found. And Tarkah prayed that perhaps....by chance, he was still out there.
She licked Amaroq softly on the muzzle. The prospect of running away had been an idea Tarkah had once had herself. Though she was never one that was able to carry out plans by herself. Tarkah looked up, "Well, I for one am glad you came back" she said softly, "I thought everyone i had once known weregone" she said and dipped her head. Tarkah brought her voice to a whisper, she knew the answer but she couldn't stop herself from blurping it out, "You didn't find them then....your parents" she whispered and closed her eyes her ears flat against her skull as she mourned for Amaroq.

~Amaroq nodded sadly at the white fae's comment. "Yes...and running away was either the right or the wrong thing to do, I cannot figure out which. I come back to find many gone, but also some things I thought would never be forgotten have been. "Like Markaz... she thought, but did not say so out loud.
Blinking, she shook her head lightly and returned her attention to the conversation at hand. "No, it appears my parents are dead and gone. No trace remains of my birth pack." She nuzzled the Drappa, remembering that she too had lost family. "Is there no word of Keechak and Maverick?" They had disappeared when the humans invaded Frecne territory, she recalled, and so the Frecne vargs had fled to Koran. But the humans followed them there, and in the confusion, the Dragga and Drappa of Frecne had disappeared.
Her golden gaze wandered to the trees about to burst into flower, the melting snow and the blue patches of sky, and a smile tugged on her lips. "It reminds you, does it not, of when we all met that day by the river?"~

Tarkah nodded. She had felt the urge to run away before. to forget all her troubles and forget all her problems. How she had anchored herself and battled with herself to stay was beyond her.
Tarkah nodded, her ears prickled at the sound of a drop of water, falling from a green conifer branch. Plummeting and sparkling in the sunlight before splashing into a pool of icy water beneath. All around her, if one listen close enough, you could hear the symphony of the melting ice. Tarkah inhaled the welcoming scents and savoured it in her scent glands before turning back, her golden eyes resting on the black form of the she wolf. Her head dipped in sadness for her friend, "I am sorry Amaroq to hear of the news." Tarkah lifted her head, "Perhaps they are out there still." she said trying to reassure the ebon femme.
Tarkah heard amaroqs question. She paused to think about it. To remember the frecne leaders. Her golden eyes met the orbs of Amaroq and she simply shook her head. "I don't know Amaroq. I pray that they are still out there though, perhaps they've found somewhere better, far away from those humans." she said softly. Her niece and nephew had gone too. "But yes, I have not recieved any word from them, ever since..." she said with a soft sigh.
Silence filled the clearing as the two she wolves seemed to pause and to rethink the concept of the world around them. Tarkah's eyes blinked spottign a brown sparrow. It's fluffy cream chest fluffed out as it fluttered from branch to branch, hailing the coming of spring. Tarkahs tail swished as she watched it flap away.
Her vision then returning to the raven shewolf as she took in what she said. Tarkah smiled and nodded her head. It was so long ago and had felt so long ago. But as Amaroq brought it up, Tarkah felt as if it were yesturday, that they were rolling about in the flowers and bustling and playing by the river. "Yes...yes I does!" she said with an ecstatic wave of her tail. Joyful memories flooding back. "I remember that day. We were inseperable that day. You me Demon and Cadairon" she said, speaking ofthe timber male who they had met. They were a band of youngsters then, playing from dawn until dusk until they had to return to their respective packs. Tarkah smiled and then looekd to Amaroq her golden eyes shimmering, "Amaroq, if you ever need a home, Koran will be here, to welcome you with open arms" she informed. It would be nice to have her puphood friend back by her side.
