<<Couldn't think of a better title....>> Dusk. Fenris was low in the sky casting the sky on fire with oranges and reds. To some dusk was a time of beauty or a perfect time to hunt. To one black shadow padded quickly through the tree's toward the pack of Koran's boarder it meant being accepted. The ebony youth had spoken with the drappa earlier in the day, she had let him join a certain joy ran through him sage green eyes kept looking ahead. Salem's nose twitched catching the scent of the pack finally he had arrived.
Slowing at the boarder he pressed onward his excitement contained. He raised his head the 'smudge' of white shown more clearly now the only part he hated about himself he wondered why his coat just couldn't of been all black instead of having such a small imperfection. He looked up at the territory something seemed to surround him a voice which called out Home..... he felt comfortable with the words. He wondered who was willing to greet the new blood of Koran, he wasn't fearful of this meeting...just a little nervous what if he wasn't liked? Shaking the negative thought away he continued his journey into the packlands. The only thing running through his mind was positive thoughts.

Shadow Mercury nosed her way through the dense shrubbery of Koran, and she inhaled the rich, piney scent, glad of this day. She loved dusk, and the colours that Fenris threw upon the land, giving off a peaceful aura which flowed through her bones right to the end of her tail. She was growing older, and her coat was lightening to an almost complete white, which she wasn't sure she liked, so it reflected the auburn colours like fire and she seemed to be alight, broken only by the dark silhouettes of the trees around her.
Then the white Varg noticed a black brute moving through the packlands. She did not recognize him, but he had the scent of a Koran and faintly of the Drappa, Tarkah. Shadow Mercury padded up to him and tilted her head curiously, standing several metres before him. "Greetings, fellow stranger," she said gently, hoping not to frighten this other Varg.

Phantom's yellow eyes of flint reflected the sunset. In the summer sky, Fenris was a deep orange, tintedwith blood read, painting the clouds various shades of gold and pnink.
The dark brown Beta inhaled the air deeply, her nose twitchng delightedly as the cooler air of the evening tickled it. She exhaled slowly, sighing, and continued on her way. Her black ears pricked as the sound of Shadow Mercury's voice floated throught he air. She was close. But Phantom's keen nares told her that another varg was with her. Appraching with an almost unatural silence, she saw a young male Kerl. He wore a pelt of ebony, with a patch of brown. Lifting her tail to show the dominance she held, but hardly wanted, she greeted them.
"Hello, Shadow. I havn't seen you around lately," she said, grinning. The young white cub was growing fast, and becoming a beautiful drappa. She then turned to the Kerl.
"Greetings, stranger," She growled in a friendly way. "I am Phantom, Beta of Koran. What do you seek within our borders?"

Surprised Salem looked up at the she-varg a few meters in front of him he was about to answer the white cub when another approached he noticed she had an authority aura about her, the beta she said? The ebony he-cub was always respectful and bowed his head in a greeting fashion "I am Salem, and I am new to Koran...it is a pleasure to meet you she-vargs Phantom and?" Salem looked at Shadow Mercury not catching her name.
He pawed the ground nervously like he had when he met with the Drappa Tarkah suns ago inquiring to join the pack. "I've already spoken with Tarkah and she has accepted me into Koran..." he smiled looking about the area they stood "So I am in the right place after all then...." he felt more or less a great burden released from him. The Koran vargs so far greeted him in such a friendly fashion he thought he was lucky to have found such a pack. He figured it'd be only one varg to greet him like his sisters bad luck but was surprised when the two she-vargs greeted and one with high authority as the beta position here he truly felt accepted it was a great feeling, rather then being forced to wander alone.

Shadow Mercury turned as she heard a pawfall near her, and she turned slightly to see Phantom, the Beta of Koran. She dipped her maw in respect. "Greetings, Phantom," she said, wagging her tail. She then smiled. "No, I don't see many other Vargs around here either... Maybe because I'm always awake at strange times," She then smiled softly as she turned back to Salem. "I am Shadow Mercury," she said, not feeling the need to say much more, until she heard the black cub's last words. "Yes, you are in the right place... Although there are a lot of 'right' places around here, I suppose..." Her voice trailed, for she was thinking about herself. She had had no idea she was capable of saying so many words at the same time... she wasn't sure she liked growing up much.

//Pardon my laziness...//
"I've already spoken with Tarkah and she has accepted me into Koran. So I am in the right place after all then...."
Phantom grinned, soflty, as the young male spoke. "Ah, I see. You're not a 'stranger' at all, then." She paused, chuckling. "Welcome to Koran, Salem."
She looked at Shadow, nodding at her words. "Shadow is right. There are many 'right' places here for a varg. I hope you'll find your place in the pack very soon."

Salem smiled and nodded "Thank you kindly for the warm welcome to Koran" he looked a bit curious at the mentioning of 'many right places' but kept his smile anyway. It was the first time Salem felt accepted anywhere. Even his old pack he was always rejected, he pushed the memories away now was no time to remember.
Salem remembered something he'd asked Tarkah about earlier which she had told him to inquire about here "Tarkah suggested I ask you or another older member to be trained for a scouting position in the pack" His sage eyes remained looking at the she-vargs but not directly, he was still a tad nervous but who wouldn't be when you've finally found a place that has accepted you in such a manner?

Shadow Mercury smiled at Salem, but then shook her head as she heard his words. "I definitely wouldn't be the one for that, but I'm sure you were talking to Phantom..." she said, suddenly finding her words strange and hollow. But she shook herself out and suddenly sat, for she realised that maybe Phantom and Salem's conversation might be a little long, although she wanted to find out more about Koran herself.

"I see," the Beta said, grinning. "Well, I'd be happy to train you, Salem. Koran needs some good scouts."
She looked down at Shadow. "Don't say such things, Shadow. I'm sure you'd be a wonderful scout, if you really wanted to. You're welcome to train with Salem as well."
//short. Forgive this tired ol' drappa.//

A strange grin spread itself over Shadow Mercury's light features, which she quickly hid away. She was unused to showing her emotions so clearly, and she felt as if she seemed ungrateful. Now that she thought of it, she did think that being a scout would suit her. "I'd love to," she said, almost in a whisper, hoping that she didn't sound too demanding.

Salem smiled "Thank you Phantom, and I look forward to being trained and training with you Shadow Mercury" he figured this would be interesting being trained in the section of a scout and with another Koran packmemeber. In becoming a scout he felt more invovled with this pack something that would hold his wandering heart down. Not like he planned on leaving this was his new home for his life meaning forever in a sense. <<Short but heh I gotta get back in the swing of roleplaying once more >>
