[glow=teal,6,000]It was mid-afternoon. The sun was making its way slowly down. Trees dotted the horizon line along with a few mountains. Some birds were singing while others were hard at work looking for food. Most baby birds had grown their wings and were just being pushed out of the nest while others were already on their own. Herla were lazily browsing the fresh greens under trees or snacking on the shoots in some meadow. Putnar were still slumbering idly or wandering about, waiting for the cover of night to hide themselves while they hunted. There was a slight breeze that carried Fenris’s warmth even to the most dark corners of the forest. It whispered softly in the trees and tickled the golden grass of the meadow. The waters of rivers and lakes shone cerulean in the day, with light reflecting spectacularly off its moving surface. Bugs were active too. Some were skimming the surfaces or searching for an easy victim to pester.
A tan pup was slowly moving. She was of medium build and had no noticeable scars or scratches. Though she was brown and had a thin coat, it was thickening and becoming more the traditional gray of a true varg.
Her step was slow and wary. She had tracked a small herla here but lost the scent to many others crossing it‘s path. Her nose was stuck to the ground, trying to identify the scent of fear and food that was always on the deer when it was chased. The russet pup didn’t pay attention and didn’t notice she had passed the border of a pack a while back. Now she was traveling deep in the territory of Koran. Her ears were pinned to her small skull. Again she had caught it. Slowly the she cub crawled forward to hide in some brambles. The herla she was tracking was small and young, separated from it’s mother at an early age. White spots were visible on this particular fawn from a ways away and fear tainted the fresh scent of food. It was feeding nervously on some tender shoots of grass. The scent and scene made the young varg’s mouth water with anxiety. Her tail had begun to wag uncontrollably and her muscles tensed ready to spring. Unable to control it anymore she launched herself, almost clearing the large bush. Instead she leapt right through, the sharp thorns catching her pelt and scratching her face and skin. Ignoring the uncomfortable ness of it she dashed toward the retreating prey. She could see the small deer in head of her, but she was gaining slowly. Her legs felt like fire as she ran, but her empty stomach forced her on. The pup’s mind was blank and was only focusing on her quarry. She folded herself close to the ground, avoiding the rush of wind that would slow her as it barely did the deer.
When Keeley was almost to its side her senses came back to her. Slowing she looked around. Then, turning her attention back to the fawn she snarled. Another hunting expedition failed. She hadn’t eaten in a couple days, but could go for more. With a savage growl and bark of fury to the lively rump of the deer she turned and took a minute to take in her surroundings. Unintentionally she had trespassed and hadn’t asked Larka’s or Tratto’s Blessing. “Great! Just Great!” Keeley whispered under her breath. Raising her agile cranium she let out a long howl. The pup listened to it die away and sat down, waiting what wrath would come upon her intruding. She was in the middle of a clearing, with some water not far off if her youthful gray auds weren’t deceiving her.
//Bear with me, I don’t know that much about how Koran looks! ;D Yikes! Sorry its soo long. I usually don't post this long! //[/glow]
