Everyone I loved, they're all gone I'd do everything differently but I can't turn back the time There's no shelter from the storm Inside of me
A dark hued shape limped through the pines, whimpering every so-often in pain and sorrow. Her shoulder ached terribly, for the snowy air had nade her old arrow-wounds hurt again. Although that was painful, nothing could compare to the pain she felt in her heart.
Looking back on her tragic life did'nt help at all. Almost everyone she had ever loved was now gone. Her parents, Aniu ans Silver. Her dear brother, Ghost. Her beloved Mate, Kadin. Her close friend, Wing. Now Istas was gone too. Would it never end?
She thought of her son, the little black pup who looked just like his father. Phantom knew that she had to move on for his sake. But, right now, she needed time to greive...to cry...

Cool winds wiped the land mercilessly and the thought of spring seemed farfetched as the thick layer of snow rooted itself upon the linen land, not budging from its place. Upon the hilltop a shadow luminated the foreground. It was a wolf. Her muzzle ripped from the shades as she padded forwards away from the shaded veil. The ivory wolf descended the hilltop, her paws working hard as to not sink any deeper into the snow. Head was hund low and her back slouched as she made her way, completely unaware that Phantom was nearby.
Tarkah lifted her head, her golden orbs scanning the horizon line. But there, between the evergreens she saw him His crimson-gray frame silhuetted against the white frost. Tarkah shook her muzzle and looked again. But the varg was gone. Illusions. Just another illusion. Tarkah growled and turned her back to the evergreens as she began padding away from the outcrop she finally sensed the presence of Phantom.
Tarkah looked up watching the dark hued femme closely. Was she okay? Tarkah tried to hide her own troubles as she trotted over to Phantom. Tail wagged lightly in greeting as the drappa tried to put up a smile, but found it harder then she thought. But she was very glad to finally see Phantom. "Hey." tarkah greeted standing infront of the she wolf. "Umm you alright?" Tarkah asked kindly, her own gaze looking into the optics of Phantom. Her own problems might have pained her, but more then ever Tarkah hated it when such a dear friend was in such a state. So the ivory she varg stayed her ears falling slightly forward as she sat listening, her full attention now falling onto Phantom,

Phantom pricked her ears as she saw the white Drappa aproach her. Her tail wagged slightly, for she was happy that Tarkah had come. "Hey Tarkah..." she said quietly. She sighed as Tarkah asked if she was alright.
"I'm not sure. Then again, I'm not so sure about anything anymore..." Phantom lifted her gaze to the heavens. Fenris 's light was almost gone, leaving the sky dark enough for stars to show. The Wolf Trail sparkled above the two friends.
"Why did they all leave? My parents, my brother, most of my friends..." she paused, a few tears forming in her eyes. "...And Kadin...all of them died. I only wished I knew why.."
Her blue eyes caught sight of the wolf trail. "Do you think they're up there...?"

Tarkah sighed as she padded upto Phantom. The white she wolf nuzzled Phantom warmly, "I know some things in this world never seem fair, and they aren't are they?" Tarkah whispered as if the sky could shatter and the stars all collapse if she spoke any louder. Tarkah had had her fair share in loss. But what could she do with it? Tarkah breathd in deeply, her own gaze looking up at the Wolf trail, the beautiful collection of twinkling lights shimmering down upon them, illuminating the night sky. Tarkah put on a smile,"They are up there Phantom, watching down upon us, makign sure we make the right decisions. But they are also in the flakes of falling snow, the raindrops and the cool summer breeze." Tarkah spoke her eyes still gazing up at the magnificent array. The she wolf sighed, she had always looked upon Phantom like her own daughter.
Tarkah paused before speakign once again, "But Phantom remember you still have Spectre, Nighteyes is here, you stil have Koran and I'll be there to aid you along the way," Tarkah smiled reasuring the she wolf.
(aww hun why are you depresssed? *hugs*)

Phantom sighed, still keeping her gaze on the brilliant stars. As she thought off eveyone she had lost, a deep silence fell over the two she-wolves. No, not a sad, lonely silence, but a peacful silence. As peaceful as the stars above.
The dark she-wolf turned to the much lighter Drappa. Tarkah was much more than a friend, she was a mentor, a sister, a mother. Strong and kind, Tarkah was someone Phantom could always count on.
Phantom turned back to her friend. Although tears where flowing down her muzzle, she was smiling. The she-wolf's eyes where still sad, but they had a look of hope in them, gratitude, too. "Thank you, Tarkah. I know I can always rely on you, and the pack, but...it still hurts. It's like a painful wound on my heart, a wound that nobody can ever heal..."
Phantom bowed her head, as if she was praying to Tor and Fenris. "Will it ever stop hurting?"

Tarkah padded and stood next to Phantom a smile appearing o nthe white vargs maw. Tarkah let a deep sigh escape as she too stared out into the open. She knew how hard it must be for her right now Tarkah had been through it aswell. The Ivory drappa closed her eyes thinkign for what seemd to be a few seconds before lifting her head, her gaze directed towards the sky. "I know how much it hurts right now Phantom. My own heart cannot be healed either. Nor can I ever find a cure reachable. But for now the only remedy is to not let the wound deepen."
Tarkah nudged Phantom gently and closed her eyes letting the light breeze sweep past, "You see Phantom. Kadin is here, with you. He is up there with Tor and Fenris. Watchign down upon you and Spectre. Taking care of you." Tarkah spoke gently and softly. She had not wanted to speak his name incase Phantom might have taken it badly, but the drappa knew that she must hear the name. To move on, she must remember his name, but place it in her back pocket.

She winced as his name was spoken...Kadin...
Phantom's eyes clamped shut and she dug her claws into the frozen ground. She did'nt want to hear his name, but deep in her heart, Phantom knew she had to. As Tarkah whispered in her ear, the dark she-wolf sniffled, desperatly trying not to cry. She had had enough of it for a lifetime...

Tarkah brought her gaze to the floor, guilty concience racking her. The white femmora closed her eyes and then reopened them seconds later. Bringingher gaze slowly up she padded forward. Whining she nuzzled Phantom, ears folding back onto her crown, "I'm sorry Phantom," Tarkah spoke softly. She was truely sorry.
Deep inside though Tarkah was angry. Angry at the heavens above. Why did they have to set their eyes upon Phantom. Why wont they just leave her and start at Tarkah herself. She wanted to hiss at the gods make them cry. Make them shut their eyes and hold back at that second.

Phantom growled sadly as Tarkah nuzzled her. She wanted to lash out at her, to release al the pain she had endured and the sadness that had welled up inside her. She wanted to howl angerly to the skies, to curse Tor and Fenris and Sita for torturing her all her life. But, in the end, Phantom did'nt have the strength anymore...
She lay down in the melting snow, and closed her eyes. Phantom's breathing became pained as sobs began to shake through her thin body. She wanted to die, to give up her torment and reese her spirit. But, as she lay there, her son's image flicked before her mind's eye. Spectre was her only tie to the world... The pain in Phantom's heart was almost unbearable now.
