You found the Hide-and-Seek picture! GASP. PM Chalos Autumn and tell him you founds it!
Prologue
Once, long, long ago before the world had been plunged into disarray, humans were considered the rulers of all. They built vast metropolises, with tall buildings that cut through the skyline, obscuring the worlds natural beauty. They created manufacturing plants, which polluted the Earth and all it’s inhabitants. They started wars, fueled by greed, and they wished to have all the world’s riches - even though they didn’t even know what they were. They wanted anything they didn’t have, land, people, objects. They just couldn’t be content with what was laying in front of them.
It was this that brought their final demise. Their wish for power drove a mass genocide of the entire human race, and their carelessness cast the rest of the world to ruin. However as the time past, all thoughts and remnants of the humans decayed, and the damage soon subsided to create a new metropolis. One for the animals to rise up and regain their own power. Of course, in the day and age that we exist in now, there is no need for the advance technologies that the humans once used, there’s no need for cars or other transportation devices. All you need is the pads on your feet and the song of the wolf to guide your weary way through our new world.
The Teacher
“That’s just a cub’s tale!”
“Yeah, humans never existed in the first place.”
A group of small pups was gathered around my paws. They never listened, not like myself when I had been their age, and they often criticized my stories. The youth of today was never satisfied, they didn’t have to face the hardships of our ancestors, so how could they even begin to imagine the horrors that humans had once bestowed upon the world? “I assure you, they did exist. And their legacy has been left as a scar upon our beautiful world - you have seen the overgrown ruins.”
“I bet you elders built all that stuff and staged it all so that we would believe you.” It was sad, I had hope for this little one. Her pelt was rust colored, much like the current pigment of metal that humans used to use in their vast structures, her eyes though. They were so shockingly blue. Which was strange trait for any wolf and was certainly a rarity. “Little Lilac, surely you couldn’t be suggesting that the Wise One has lied about his knowledge?”
“And what if I am? He’s just an old fart anyway! What could he possible remember now? He’s gone positively senile!”
Lilac was certainly a fire flower. She bloomed with such debates as this, but up until now she had been my best student on the teachings of humans. She’d been curious and even wanted to know more. She wanted to meet a human - it was a sort of dream that she had.
“Yeah, humans have grown to nothing. If they did exist they couldn’t have been as terrible as you’re suggesting. They’d still be alive now.”
That was Bruno. One of my denser students. He had promise in power, but whenever things came to thinking - well it wasn’t his strong point. His eyes are golden, a natural color, and his pelt the common black. Much like myself, though I have certainly grayed quite a bit over the years.
“There is no proof that humans do not exist still somewhere. There are just no records. We can’t very well allow them to come back into power anyway. Can we?”
“Well, no but-”
“What if they did come back? We can communicate with them can’t we? Everyone speaks a unified language. We all talk and sound the same now.”
Yes, Victoria, Bruno’s lovely twin sister. The only difference between the two was size and brains. Victoria is quite thin and lovely, while her brother - well he has plenty of meat on his bones. Where Lilac is a bit of a spitfire, Victoria is more the type to rationalize. “My promising little scholars, this is all we can talk of today for the sun is low in the sky and your parents will be worried if you do not arrive back home. Mind you of the Bears who often frequent after nightfall.”
“Yes, Elder Dimitrii.”
Yes, indeed this crop was a promising one. Who knew what they might bring to the world, with their inquiries and their curiosity they could very well find humans if they wished. Not one of us really believe that they are all dead. No… that could never be the case with them… Humans were far too resourceful in their time. There’s no way that they could all be gone.
This is just something I was tinkering with. It's not very good... I don't think... but I figured it was interesting enough of a story's beginning that I ought to share it with all my friends.
