Pups
Standing in the den entrance, Rusty saw that one of the puppies was all white with metallic gray tufts of fur on its head and down its spine, with a metallic gray diamond on its chest. For a puppy, the wolf pup's claws were already almost as long as Rusty's. The baby wolf's tail was as long as its body and it fluffed out at the end. Its right front paw was in a crooked position, and it only had one ear. The other puppy was all white with blood red tufts of fur on its head and down its spine, with a blood red splash on the tip of its tail. Weird symbols could be seen on the second wolf pup's fur. This puppy had long claws too.
"Are they he's?" asked Rusty, looking up at Moon, still standing in the birthing den entrance. Moon panted heavily and her blight blue eyes shone with joy.
"Yes," replied Moon, looking back at Rusty, wagging her big white fluffy tail so violently that the dust on the floor of the den scattered. The dust particles rose and reached Rusty's big black nose. He sneezed. He shook himself from his head all the way down to his tail before he padded over to Moon and nuzzled her exhausted, yet happy face with his nose to show all of his love and affection towards her, for wolves never abandon their mates ever in the most dangerous of times and they will stick to one another at all costs.
Breaking the silence Rusty asked with concern, pointing with his nose to the metallic gray and white puppy as he said this, "Where is this one's other ear?"
"He was born with only one ear," barked Moon sadly, dipping her head solemnly. "Hopefully he will be fine. Later Oak will come to check on the pups, but she will give us the privacy we need first. She always does."
"What is wrong with this one's fur, the symbols?" Rusty snarled meanly, drawing his lips back in anger. It is unlucky for a wolf to have disabilities or a twisted paw, or weird inscriptions on their fur. "I heard Oak say the other day that having inscriptions on the fur is a sign from Hastern!" As he barked the word 'Hastern', Moon began to snarl.
Moon stopped wagging her tail as if she was afraid that her two puppies that lived would die just like the others puppies that Stone and Rusty buried. She shivered and shook her white head.
"Oh," growled Rusty, his tail drooping as he began to lick Moon's fluffy white face affectionately.
"What shall we name them?" Rusty barked loudly through his vigorous licking.
"How does the name Dagger sound for the one with metallic gray tufts of fur on his head, because he already has his teeth? And the one with blood red tufts can be Wolven," suggested Moon. She rasped her long sticky tongue over Rusty's shaggy red face.
"Alright!" Rusty barked loudly, as he jumped over to Dagger and Wolven and began to lick them roughly on their tiny heads. "Hello Dagger! Hello Wolven!"
Rusty then curled up on the den floor beside Moon's velvet white pelt. Questions ran through his mind over and over before he fell asleep. What is wrong with Dagger's paw? Why does he already have his teeth? Why is his tail so long? Why are his claws so long? Why does he only have one ear? Why does Wolven have long claws? Why does Wolven have blood red tuft of fur, not rusty red wolf fur? Why does Wolven have symbols on his fur? Could Wolven be Hastern's son or one of his demon workers? ... What is wrong with my boys?

Prediction
Rusty awake to the soft sound howling. It was Mist, howling to let everyone know that it was time to get up. Rusty got up and stretched, sticking his bottom up in the air and yawned. Rusty decided to let Moon sleep, for she was tired after yesterday. He staked out of the den quietly.
Outside it was dawn. It was raining lightly. Wet dew rested lightly on the grass underfoot. When he excited the den he saw Mist standing on a large boulder, howling a wonderful song about life in the forest. Around the clearing other wolves were beginning to come out of their dens. "Morning, Mist!" proclaimed Rusty in joy as he jogged over to the boulder that she was standing on.
"Hello Rusty!" Mist barked after she had finished her song. She jumped down from the boulder gracefully, and then shook herself from her head to the tip of her tail. She walked over to Rusty and licked his red muzzle in greeting. Rusty licked her whitish gray muzzle in return.
"How are your pups?" she asked, "What do they look like?"
Rusty grinned; his tail curled up in gratitude for her asking. "Well, they are fine! They are both males. One of the puppies is all white with metallic gray tufts of fur on his head and down his spine, with a metallic gray diamond on his chest. The other puppy is all white with blood red tufts of fur on his head and down his spine with a splash of red on the tip of his tail!"
Mist cocked her fluffy head in confusion. She barked, her voice shaky, "Did you say blood red tufts of fur on his head? Is that all he looks like?"
Rusty growled fastly, "Yes, blood red tufts," then he barked more slowly, "Well…… he does have these weird symbol like things on his fur."
"I better go!" announced Mist loudly. She turned around and began to walk away. She looked over her fuzzy shoulder to make sure that Rusty was not following her. From where he was standing, Rusty heard her mumble to herself, but just loud enough for him to hear "No! It can't be! This is what Oak predicted would happen! No! It can't be happening!"
Rusty cocked his in confusion. What did Mist mean when she said "No! It can't be! This is what Oak predicted would happen! No! It can't be happening!"
He stood there for a minute then he heard Dandelion, a white wolf, calling him from across the clearing. "Rusty," barked Dandelion sternly, coming to a stop as he neared the red wolf "Me, you, Smoke, Stem, and Feather are to go on a hunting expedition and to bring back what ever we kill, without eating anything."
"Yes, sir," growled Rusty obediently, dipping his head so that he was lower then Dandelion, for Dandelion was the Beta of their pack. "I will go find Feather and Smoke."
"It is already done. They are waiting for us by the slopped stone wall," announced Dandelion. His chest puffed up as he noticed that Rusty had lowered his head. "Now let's go!" Both wolves raced each other across the clearing to a sloped stone wall, where Stem, a brown wolf with white paws, Feather, a cream colored wolf who is Stem's daughter, and Smoke, a ordinary gray wolf, were waiting for Dandelion to come back with Rusty.
