Do our pets really love us?
Many scientific researches have been experimenting and studying for years and still have not found the answer. Here are some pros and cons:
Pets are affectionate and wait by your door for you to come home. Many cats and dogs have saved their owners from natural disasters like fires and earthquakes. Pets will walk for miles just to get back home to you. They perform dumb tricks and endure stupid pet-names just to appease you. Is there any way that pets could do this without loving us?
Pets have attacked their owners for no particular reason. They make messes and do things you tell them not to do just to annoy you. Their only interests seem to be themselves and food. Pets run away for no reason and when you scarcely deprive them or annoy them, they leave you and hate you. Cats purr only when you give them treats, not sweet words or petting their head. They only stay for food and shelter, not love.

For those of you who don't know, I am an animal intuitionist- meaning that I can usually speak to most breeds of animals and, rarely, bend them to my will with forceful means. For those of you who don't believe me, i don't need your approval for this. -winks- I promise, I don't.
Animals don't think in the way we do; they think in emotion and it runs through their minds like a film. My cat Angel brought to me love and comfort when i first got her; although i don't believe in exact reincarnations i do believe in 'walk-ins' and i think she is a walk-in of my previous cat Spunkey, who was killed by a car just a week earlier. Angel will eat only when i give it to her or when she sees me next to the food, she plays fetch with a string and sleeps either around my head, on my chest, or curled at my feet.
Workign at a vet office has given me the allowance to help animals there as well; I haven't told them yet but when I sense an animal I can tell what's wrong with it. I can also heal animals and myself as well, which is why I usually don't haev anything but aches (not illnesses) and my aniamls rarely get sick when i can help it. For this reason, I'm a 100% sure animals feel love. ^_^

I think that our animals do love as well. My dog *cuddles doggie* will give me hugs, she'll jump up and put her paws on my shoulder and rest her head on my shoulder. She sleeps in my bedroom and always comes up and lays down so she's touching me. And she's very protective of me. I was playing with my dog once and she bit me rather hard. I yelled "Ouch" and she puts her ears down and comes up to me and stands on my knees and licks my face, she wouldn't stop till I told her I was okay. She still will do that, but she doesn't bite hard anymore. When she makes a mess she knows she's in trouble and makes it up to you in licks and snuggles.
MY cat and I are intersting, I will bug him everyday and he'll hiss at me etc. But later that night we are perfectly fine, it's not a normal day unless I bug him, but after half an hour everything's fine. I can get my cat to pur just by petting him.
People and animals have special bonds and I think they do love us.

To Lydair: I am not exactly as strong as you say you are at the art, but I can do the same. It's not like I can communicate back to them "through telepathic brain waves" or anything, but I can usually sense what's wrong with them. I also can feel their distress, pain, and sometimes emotions over a long distance. When my cat Friday got hit by a car, no one knew it (except my evil neighbor who coincidentally "forgot" to tell us...). He didn't return for three weeks. I kept calling for him. I don't know, but I just knew he wasn't dead and something kept "calling" me back to one spot. Whether this was coincidence or luck or what you've described above, one day, when I was calling him, he emerged (all torn up, battered, and bruised) from where I had been looking for him, two blocks away from our house. Why he was there? I don't know. Why I was "drawn" there? I don't know. My cat Figaro (who is turning 16 next month!) is probably my best friend. This is because we communicate. She can seriously talk (I don't mean that I have psychological issues, but she can really say a few words. She wakes me up every morning with the words "Hello" and my name. She says good night to me, and, if I'm really upset, she'll say "sorry" if she knows it was because of something she knows of or she did. Like once, she scratched me badly. I snuck up on her (oops) playfully and she just turned around quickly and caught me on my face. (Again, oops.) It really hurt and since it was around the general direction of my eye, I started to tear up. She ran up to me hurriedly, sat in my lap, and began to wash my face. After she was done, she said sorry and wouldn't leave me alone until I gave her a hug. Then she curled up on my bed and let me read to her for a while. Yes...she likes for me to read to her. Especially adventure. If I read her animal books (including Warriors and the Sight) she walks away. I don't know if it's because she thinks they are incorrect or if she just doesn't like them, but she always leaves when I read her those. She purrs especially loud for Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, The Shadowmancer, Left Behind, and Lord of the Rings. She stopped purring when the characters in Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings died and when someone in Artemis Fowl and the Eternity Code came close to dying. She didn't particularly like some parts of Shadowmancer and Left Behind. In the sad parts, she would come and cuddle up in my lap as if she needed to comfort me or visa versa. I believe that Figaro really loves me. I'm not sure about Friday always. Sometimes, he just seems a little too aloof. He also throws bad temper tantrums. When I shove him off of my bed because I find out he has flees and we have to put medicine on, he escapes, runs downstairs, and either hops into my book bag or onto the piano and shreds the paper contents. I love my music, whether it's for string base, oboe, piano, flute, or french horn. All of thee above are ontop of the piano. And he always seems to rip something important in my bookbag. He never apologizes. Again, I know Figaro and my dog, Bear, love me. Bear (as suggested by his name, my dog is a large lab who comes up to about my waist ((I'm 5 foot 6 or 7 by the way)) who some kids from Denmark who we met called "Ice Bear" because they thought he looked like a polar bear because of his blondish color) usually, to the best of his ability, will comfort me when I'm sad or sick; usually this cannot be accomplished without me getting knocked over a couple of times. It's the thought that counts. Going back to the communicating w/ animals thing, the other day, Bear started to howl in the backyard. No biggie. He always howls when he hears a siren or another dog barking. But it kept going. I decided to go check on him after he continuously howled for about a quarter of an hour. He just kept on going. His whole body was shaking, and , even though he was howling, he remained lying down. He never does that; it's always standing or sitting. So I went to go see what was wrong. My dad said he was fine, claiming that he was singing. I thought differently. I went over to him and started stroking him. He stopped. But he was still shaking. I looked at him and somehow I could tell it was his leg. I bent down to touch it. He started shaking even more violently. I told dad that something was seriously wrong and we should call the vet. Whether this explains that I have good instincts or what has been described before, I don't know. Whether this another one of those insidents where I'm trying to magnify myself? Please tell me if you think so. I'm not trying to. If you wanna know what happened to Bear, he pulled a ligament and is now having it repaired. I thought that on most occasions, animals/pets really do love their owners. It all depends on the upbringing of the pet, who their current owner is, and what their personality is, I guess. This is why I rated it a 9.

Even though Farrah, Friday hates every one.
Again Farrah long lines! Let's see. As you can tell, I chose 5. (like I did on the other site). I think pets kinda love us. We give them food. That is part of the reasons domestic animals like us. My dog is an idiot. He stares at food all day. He tries to eat my pigons, my fish, and even the cats. I rate that a 5!

My ability is..I don't want to say more advanced, but I'm in tune with it more. For those of you who don't know, I train horses nearly every night- and my ability helps me to ride and train better. I place my full trust in the equine that I'm riding/showing/training, because i can fully understand what he/she is thinking and when he or she understands I'll have him or her do something out of the ordinary to prove it. For instance- I was training this clydesdale/qh gelding named Buster- the evening had been going well, he's really open-minded and because of my intuition I'm lucky enough to not have to appraoch a dangerous animal; they'll appraoch me and usually lower their head and remain at least semi-calm. Later on, Buster's mind suddenly went blank and I instictively covered my head and ducked/rolled; sure enough he reared the next moment because of a snake. One of his hooves slammed on my wrist; its far from broken but it hurts like crazy so my typing is probably a bit off. My cats come without me talking; i simply reach out with my mind and they'll come running. My kitty cat Angel Marie talks to me daily; she wakes me up and will nip me to get me to go to bed. when i cry she'll scare away any other poeple in the room and she gets my vibes and out of nowhere she'll just climb onto my lap and purr and nuzzle me. I love her to death. Once, when my first guinea pig died, Maxwell Roscoe, i was crying on the way to school and she actually followed the bus down the road until i could get enough sense and calm myself down enough to tell her to go back home. she was waiting at the foot of my driveway when i got home. I also train dogs; i'm training my friend's lab right now (Roxy) and she's a really fast learner. I showed my friend, proved it to her- my mare Chiclett/Val has a really bad attidtude when lunging, but she rarely tosses her head and rarely stops when i say 'stop'. Anyway, Val had gotten tired of it and told me that she wouldn't continue, so i asked her to go around in a circle three more times, and each time i said 'That's one..or that's two...' She'd toss her head, and when i said the word 'three' she'd stop dead in her tracks. It happened perfectly; my buddy was amazed...
I can also heal- one of the reasons i work at a vet office. hehe.

Since everybody, well two people are talking about being in tune with animals I'll say this. I am pretty intune with my dog, probably because she is closest to me of my pets. I can't read her mind, but I'm good with body language and noise and such. I can tell when somethings wrong or when she is sad etc.
I went to Kansas to a small zoo where there were wolves kept in a not so good pen. But they would watch me and every time I sat down they would watch me intently. If I crawled on my hands and knees and they would whine and follow me. I could also get them to howl. I don't why this happened but it was pretty amazing.
I used to ride horses and thought I had a pretty good relationship with them. But I am scared of them, purely because I have fallen off and I get scared around them and have a hard time controlling my fears.
I have no healing powers nor special communications, beside being able to read body language. I don't think animals run away for no reason, people don't run away for no reason, so I think animals do it for a reason. I don't no why but I think they have a reason.

What do you think some possible reasons could be? I mean...my cat, Friday...I told the story of how he got hit by the car above...he came back after like three weeks. Well, he stayed with us for about two months, and then started running off. I don't know why. He shows up about every two weeks now. We think he's living down the street, but we don't know why he ran off. Whenever I try to call him (not with my mind...I wish...) he hisses at me. I don't know why. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Physical and emotional stress due to injury or loss of coordination (in this case, he getting hit by a car and then losing his way) is the easiest thing an animal can do to break all forms of communcication, especially intuitive communicating. The animal's mind will often seem to 'black out' in my mind's eye, and they no longer have the balance, memory, or sense of security that they did. Friday most likely is feeling that you have abandoned him, and it is in these times that you should lay low, giving out food and water and a warm place to sleep. if you can't call him mentally, then speak quietly, and DON'T approach him.
As for Figoro- my femme-cat Angel dislikes cat books, and has told me numerous times the reasons why- they don't make sense, she knows that is itsn't real, and the author misjudged the cats. The only part she liked was Firepaw (? The main chara...i've forgotten now. Sorries.) and she'll look up whenever we speak of fire. Angel enjoys listening to music; her faves differ but sometimes she'll rub up against me and demand to listen to something...she doesn't like Fall out Boy. >.< Too bad.
There could be something in his memory that draws him back in such an even amount of time- try to tell me what it could be. I'll help you call him with your mind, if you'd like.

I don't understand why your cat dislikes those other characters. It's like...well...we read books about people and some of those people's emotions don't seem practical as well as thoughts, actions..etc. I don't see why she wouldn't enjoy hearing weird accounts...for me, a weird one is Harry Potter. All though I like the series, Harry's emotions and thoughts are sometimes just not practical to me. Neither are his actions. Maybe you should take that up with your cat. As to music, Figaro (You spelled her name wrong above...it's OK. Everyone does!) HATES base. She's OK with piano and oboe, but she doesn't like flute. When it comes to CD's, she likes to listen to classical and country the most. She hates the Beatles (shame shame) and all other rockers. She especially likes hearing Nickel Creek (no, not Nickel Back, Nickel Creek...they're kinda country/bluegrass.) and Mozart. Sometimes others, but only sometimes. About calling Friday mentally, who wouldn't want to learn? That would be soooo cool! I have approached him before...about a week ago. He looked at me...I hadn't even called him or seen him yet...and he ran towards me meowing like he was soooo happy to see me! He followed me home, ate the food, walked inside and slept on my bed...you know, the whole sweet deal. Anyway, my mom let him out the next morning (I thought that he would feel like we were rejecting him and I guess I was right) and he was gone. Whenever I see him, he hisses again. Hmmm...so. What's step one as to calling with your mind? Does it work with humans? That would be so awesome...just like in Eragon...hmm...maybe it'll work with practice...I think I'm using too many periods...hmm... By the way Fire/paw/heart/star is the main character until the "New Prophecy" series. I haven't read but one of those...they're weird so I don't think I will pursue them... Thanks for the tips and I look forward to your reply!
