"Leave my child... There is nothing you can do now, but save yourself... Escape the clutches of human hands and search for a new life in southern lands..." "But Grandfather, I do not want to leave... I want to stay and fight against these domesticated beasts, I want to save our pack!" Dark paws stepped forth over the snow as she made her way towards the nearest source of water. Her thirst had brought her to the lake shore where she stopped to rest. Her journey had been long, treacherous, dangerous and brave. The surroundings were foreign, though the snow was more like her homeland. So many trees, looming above her like menacing creatures. Light snow flakes drifted from the heavens where tor had began to step carefully into the night sky. Echoes from the past still reverberated through her mind as she lowered her maw to the ice at the lakes edge, lapping at a small hole which allowed a minimal amount of water to be taken. They came, with spears and with their 'dogs'. Yelling and shrieking in their grunting manner. The elderly and young had fled the night before, trying to save their pelts from these humans. The warriors chose to stay, being most of the tribe, they had fought well, but many perished. Soldier had stayed to protect her family, whom were also fighting. After the battle, she had found her Grand sire wounded, a deep gash to his neck draining his blood as he fought for words to say. The two-legs would soon return, and he begged her to leave. The scene replayed in her mind as she lowered back to her haunches to gaze across the calm, half-frozen water. Blue-green eyes scanning its surface for any ripples or sign of life. Dipped audits flicking back and forth as she was unsure of the varg in these lands, would they take kindly to an ancient bred foreigner in these lands? A chilled breeze rattled over the lands, bringing new scents to the northern faemme, strange scents of mingled varg and scents of strange packs from the mountains and swamps. Her mind began to think things over, what if she was not liked here? There his great form lay as she slowly padded away, first towards the north but slowly changing course towards the south, from where she had heard tales of fearsome males and tales of gods that rule lands. She was not afraid of these nightmares, but she was not looking forward to what she would meet there. One last look at the battleground, the crimson soaked snow and the bodies of ancient varg made her mind for her. No more war against humans, she would start afresh, somewhere new... {Eeep a bit weird, but anyone is welcome to join in. The first post is just an introduction to Soldier and her past}

Snow crunched beneath her large ebon paws, as she made herself down the mountain; making sure to watch each step she made, one wrong step, especially in this weather could send her to her death. Ayame was in a good mood considering the recent going-ons in her pack. Most members have returned, but the one thing that has hit her hardest, is the passing of List’s Stargazer. She had only just gotten to get to know her, but now it was Fiory’s turn to run through the red meadow with all of her loved ones that had already passed on, this thought made a smile form across her maw, she was happy for Fiory, she was no longer in pain and would always be there for her and her pack mates; all they would have to do is look to the stars for her, for that is where they would find their Stargazer.
The large ebon fae reached the bottom of the mountain and looked back up the mountain towards home, she would return soon enough but she hated being away, this time of year was too crucial for them to remain together to survive, but now she needed to quench her thirst with actually crisp cool water and not the ice and snow that covered her mountainous home. Prancing forward towards the iced over lake, a frigid breeze swirled around her causing her nares to flare, a new scent caused her auds to perk and her fiery gaze surveyed the land around her, there in the distance sat another gray fae. She was not from around here, some place much further North from the smell of it. She moved forward, not wanting to startle her she spoke up, “Hello, I hope I’m not disrupting you, I just came down from a top the mountain to grab a quick drink.” She smiled at the stranger, she was relieved that the new fae wasn’t from around these parts, it meant she didn’t have to worry about pack ties and whether or not she would be friend or foe.
She lowered her muzzle to the frigid water, her ebon gums parting to show her ivory canines and pink tongue slipping in and out bringing a cool sensation throughout her body. She smiled, she loved that feeling and it quenched that desire she had for a cool drink. Sitting back on her haunches she looked at the fae in front of her, “So what brings you here in such an unfriendly time of year? I tell you it’s much more beautiful at other times.” Ayame chuckled a little bit, “Actually I love this time of year besides the lack of food, I love the snow and the cold, I feel most alive at this time of year.” She looked friendly at the fae by her side, her tail swaying happily behind her, curious as to where the fae came from and how she found her way here.

Greenish blue eyes gazed across the ice that covered the lakes surface, a calmness overcame her body as she waited for something to happen, and happen it did. She had sensed something coming to the lake, and her eyes tracked the progress of an ebon figure picking it's way down the mountainside towards the lakes shore. Soldier did not move, her form seemed to be frozen to this spot, it was not out of fear, it because she knew deep within herself that no threat was going to be posed upon her. As the ebon faemme drew closer, her words were soft and welcoming. A kind varg was what Soldier needed to get her bearings of this new and foreign land, to help her understand what was happening between packs and which lands were safe to cross and which were not to pleasant.
"Please, continue" Her words were pleasant and she bowed her head slightly in a kind gesture to the one she would find named as Ayame. The bigger fae continued to tell her about how she loved the season of winter, the pros and cons of the mountainside whilst being underneath such deep snow. "I love the snow too, it reminds me of my homeland" A smile crept across her maw as she remembered the barren snow plains of the north. Where there could be no trees in sight for days on end, the joys of having to dig into the snow to make make-shift dens for comfortable night. The comfort of having your family pack surrounding you. "I am Soldier from the Northern reaches, the barren lands" She turned her head to see if the black femme had picked up her introduction well.
{Ish bit crap but no muse and my brother is pestering me to no ends!}

The ebon fae was grateful for the kindness and pleasantness in the gray fae’s voice. She had no desire to fight or argue on this day. As she retreated closer to the fae, she smiled in agreement about the love for snow. She rested back on her haunches, her tail swishing back and forth in the snow making a slight impression. “Well let me be one of the first to welcome you to this part of Transylvania.” Ayame bowed her head slightly to the fae, “I myself am from the mountainous pack of List which borders both the Balkar and Sarnes. I guess you could say we’re the evil packs. Across the rushing river you will find Ge-Rad, Koran and Deor and I suppose you could consider them the nice fun loving packs. Everywhere in between you will find wandering kerls like yourself which are free to roam as they wish as long as they don’t trespass on pack grounds without asking permission. “ She giggled to herself, “Sorry, didn’t mean to bombard you with information you never requested.”
Ayame sat there in silence for a moment, taking in the serenity around her and her new acquaintance Soldier. Her fiery hues once again focused on the fae in front of her. “So Soldier, what do you think of this place so far? Do you think you’ll learn to call it home or continue your travels to other lands?” She was really just making pleasant conversation, it was a relief that Ayame didn’t have to worry about whether or not she was friend or foe of the grey fae with her, she was a kerl and there were no pack ties broken by her being friendly to the stranger.
Just then snow began to flutter to the ground, flakes began to land on her ebon downy pelt, melting leaving little droplets of water. A smile came across her maw, “Yes I truly love this time of year.” Her tail began to wag faster behind her, piling up the snow where her tail came to a stop at the edges. “Anyway, forgive me, sometimes I get so distracted. Tell me, how long have you been wandering in these parts?” Ayame hoped she wasn’t prying too much, she simply wanted to make small talk with the new fae.

Her deep sea hued eyes watched as the ebon fae came nearer, but she had made no threat of attack or any hostility towards this foreigner. The welcoming to the Transylvania lands was very kind indeed, but as the fae went on to describe the different pack lands and borders that resided within the area. But when her explanation of her own pack came down to being 'evil', Soldier could not believe it by the faemme's kind actions, could one so nice really be in a pack considered evil?
"These lands are unknown to me, but so far, they seem to be pleasent enough. Every terrain has their weak points, you just have to adapt around it." The words came soft and melodic, a warm smile accompanying them soon after as the light flakes of winter fluttered down to meet their bodies. A small shake rid the faded silver pelt from the first of the snow, sending a small flurry into the air. Her pelt was not as thick as the ebon fae's, for she had grown used to the harsh winters up in the north lands and her body had become adapted to weathering well without the need of an overly thick coat to keep her warm.The way she used to keep warm when times did come to the worst was by hunting. Running across the barren lands to find their elusive prey. She listened carefully as Ayame then apologized for giving out the unasked information, but Soldier actually felt that it was a very warm gesture, and her worries about some of the nightmares she had been told faded away into the chilling winter air. "There is no need to worry, I have been travelling for many moons, and have arrived only a couple days ago. You have been the first I have met, and my impression already is that these lands are pleasent enough to stay a while in. Please, tell me more about these packs.

The roaring of the falls still played in the distance; Ayame looked over to them and noticed that some of the streams of water were frozen in time from the frigid temperatures currently consuming Transylvania. She smiled; the view was nothing but beauty the way the ice sparkled in the light. Returning her attention once again to the fae in front of her, she nodded and agreement with her, “Yes I think this land will suit you just fine.” She was so relieved that she could actually sit and rest and have a pleasant conversation with this varg and not have a worry in the world.
Ayame lowered her large body slowly to the frozen ground, and began to groom her pelt, her pink tongue grazing over her flame-like scar, it was just down the river where she had engaged in battle with the Deorian Drappa that left her the battle wound, but that was a story for another time, not right now. Now she must answer Soldier’s questions, it would be rude not to. “Well let me see, I will start with the Balkar. They are the most feared pack in all Transylvania, only mann varg are allowed to join, and there can’t be an ounce of goodness running through their veins. I myself have never run into them, but they are tightly linked with my own pack, List.” Ayame looked deep into the sea colored hues of fae beside her; she seemed to understand everything. “My pack are also feared by many, they are mountain dwellers and actually formed by a former First of the Balkar and his mate. We still have ties with the Balkar since the Drappa of my pack is a daughter of the Balkar and she wishes to make those ties even stronger. I won’t bore you with more details on List. Let’s see who else…Oh yes, next would be Sarnes, they were also formed with connections to the Balkar and dwell in the swamp lands. Those three packs are all on this side of the river. On the other side lie the packs of Ge-Rad, Deor and Koran. I do not know much about them, except both Deor and Koran are my sworn enemies, and Ge-Rad is considered neutral to my pack. I hope that didn’t get too confusing.” The ebon fae smiled up at Soldier, she was beginning to enjoy her company.
She began to wonder what intentions the gray fae had, “So tell me, do you plan on staying a kerl, or do you wish to eventually join a pack?” Ayame chuckled, “Wait, you have only been here for a short time, I’m sure you still don’t know what you wish to do, I do apologize.” Her tail swayed back and forth contently behind her brushing the snow back and forth. It was a relaxing day but soon she would have to return to her home, and she wondered what Soldier would do for the night. “I don’t know what your plans are, but near the mountains there are some decent sized caves that would be suitable for you to stay overnight in if you have nowhere else to go. I’ve been caught out there a few times and had to seek shelter from a storm or two. On my way back to List, I could show you where they are if you so wished.” She smiled once again at the fae, as she patiently waited a yawn escaped from her maw. “Oh excuse me, I don’t know where that came from…”

The relaxed tone that seemed to drift between the two fae seemed to relax Soldier into more comfort, it also seemed to appear that Ayame was also enjoying the calm banter that they had fallen into so casually. Soldier had never met another wolf whom seemed to comfortable in talking to a stranger, something told her that this ebon fae was going to be a good acquaintance, even strong friend if the connection was like this already, Soldier seemed to trust her completely already. She observed the ebon faemme began to groom her fur, rasping her tongue against the thick looking pelt. Sea eyes gazed softly to the scar which adorned that midnight hue, thoughts bubbling into the foreigners head, questions lingering upon her lips as she watched. Soldier knew too well not to answer questions about such happenings, she had many scars of her own, but most had faded gently into her own fading pelt, and took shelter underneath her lightweight pelt.
As the more detailed explanation of the pack system within these lands drifted to her, fears soon lifted inside the fae, the storied had been true, there was that nightmare pack somewhere within the vicinity of Transylvania. But she had needn't worry until she met one of these so called brutish males, and hopefully that would not bee soon. The friendly smile came from Ayame, received with a warm glow and soft words in reply. Indeed it got confusing, but don't worry I will figure it out some time, it's hard to get used to places where you have never been before. Soldier touched upon humor within these words as a small chuckle arose within her chest as she leaned back upon her dark haunches into a more comfortable position, slowly relaxing every muscle in her body to recline into this position.
The next questions which came from her new found friend were contradicted as she slowly corrected herself. She was right though, Soldier had not been within these lands for very long, she had not thought about making a life in the area. Visions of possibilities floated within her mind, but hazy figures seemed to buzz about her instead of individual characters. Please, do not apologize, there is no need. She smiled and her own chuckle arose from her maw. I have not put that much thought into what my actions would be if I found the right place to be. I now think that I should consider my actions from now on. Soldier smiled again as she spoke. Her words still soft and melodic in her gentle foreign accent. Sea eyes carefully scanning the terrain and resting on any odd shaped object, such as boulders and the lake itself. Sounds of rushing water drifted to her careful auds as more information about mountainous caves drifted to her auds. That is very kind of you. I would enjoy exploring with someone who knows where they are going. Her orbs returned to Ayame's own and gazed deep within them. I do believe I did not catch your name, friend.

Ayame smiled at the silvery fae, she was glad for the pleasant conversation and the Soldier didn’t mind her ramblings on about packs and things she never asked about. The ebon fae hadn’t had many to talk to as of late; Transylvania seemed like a ghost town and especially her pack lands. Even since the late stargazer had passed, everything seemed to come to a sudden stop; it was as if time was standing still. Snapping back to reality, her fiery gaze fell back on the sea colored hues of the silver fae and she smiled kindly.
“Well if you are done admiring the beauty of the waterfall and lake, I’ll show you that cave on my way home.” Ayame rose to her steady paws, her tail held high, and her chest large with pride. “Since you are from the unknown northern lands, I know you a aware of the dangers that come with scaling the mountainous lands, but please watch your step.” With her tail swaying happily behind her shad began to walk towards home, and the temporary housing for Soldier on the frigid night ahead of them, she looked back to the silvery fae and nodded, “Come let us begin our travels, for I am sure you are exhausted from your exploring and travels and could use a good nights sleep.”
