The moon hangs low in the sky tonight, her pearlescent glow illuminating the darkened forest in a series of silvery shadows. A dark wolf appears infront of you, offering an invitation with the glint in his eye. This wolf is a Staertellen, a roaming story teller that speaks the tales of old. He turns, flisking his ear and beckoning you to follow. You do, and soon find yourself in a cosy gathering of wolves from far flung territories, each one gazing in eager anticpation. The ebony Staertellen signals for silence, and begins his tales of famous Gods and wolves from days gone by.
Former Aplhas of the Sight
Shatocwnn, Former Drappa of List
Kanis, Former Dragga of Frecne
Zhentee, Former Dragga of Ge-rad
Nightdancer-Zephyr, Former Drappa of Ge-rad
Ixy, Former Drappa of Agmox
Leohlic, Former First of the Balkar
Abandoned in the depths of winter by his Kerl mother, Leohlic haunted the in between lands, where food was scarce and the winters hard. Occasionally, he’d venture into territories of nearby packs, seeking fresh water and meat to alleviate the bitter hardships he’d so far endured.
It was while sipping from a nearby stream, one that belonged to the Balkar, that Leohlic met Tamra, the First himself. Believeing he’d no choice other than to die fighting, Leohlic was surprised when Tamra instead ordered him to chase down another wolf, Shuyin, thus also giving him a free ticket into the pack he’d desperately wanted to belong for so many years.
But the notoriously viscious wolf discovered he was capable of love, when he met Shatocwnn on a frozen river. After a truly bizarre moment where Shatocwnn was forced to relive Leohlic’s violent past, she accused him of having the sight, and disappeared into the night. But Leohlic was not to be undeterred by this, and so followed her. Somehow, a forest fire had started, and both were forced to put aside their differences to escape. It is commonly said that relationships formed under pressure never last, but Shato and Leo have proved just the opposite.
Just after meeting Shato, Leo was offered the position as Second of the Balkar, after proving his worth to Tamra time and time again. Soon after, he and Shato also decided to set up their own pack, the List, where they birthed a litter of four, Jade, Gryffin, Fernlick and Baleful.
The Human Behind the Wolf
Andrew, 16 years old from Scotland, admits himself that he can be a very stubborn person. Others wouldn’t disagree with that statement, but also find him a great guy to talk too, and someone who’ll always make them laugh. When questioned on why he enjoys RPG so much, he replied with,
“…It takes me away from school and I can make up all the characters I want without being told I’m a sad geek ‘cause everyone else that RPs understands the fun of it!…”
Sad? Us? No way. A natural born leader, Andrew, has become an irreplaceable character that many know, and though not necessarily love, definitely hold in high regards.
Tamra, Former First of the Balkar
Third of a litter of five, Tamra grew up outside the lands of Carpathia amongst the love and kindness of the Traer pack. He left his family during his second spring, the adventurours heart beating strong within his breast, meeting a faemme named Kera on his long travels. They instantly fell in love, travelling together to lands a new, where they might start their very own pack, and raise their sons and daughters. This dream came closer to reality, when the following spring, Kera found herself with cub. Then tradgedy struck. Their dwelling was sited near the infamous Balkar territory, and Tamra, having grown up in another land, knew nothing of their fearsome existance. It was after returning from a hunting trip that he found his beloved mate dead, with a huge grey wolf stood over her body.
Greif and violent rage overcame him, and before he’d even registered his movement, was in fierce battle with Hunr, First of the Balkar. It was a long and bloody battle, but eventually Tamra took a killing hold on Hunr’s throat, his teeth ripping at the flesh while his claws simultaneously slashed. Hunr died soon after, and had it not been the feverant wish to spite the murderer, Tamra would have followed. Instead he lived, and unbeknownst to him, was the new First of the Balkar. Once he’d recovered, some moons later, he returned to slaughter the Balkar, his grief sending him to madness, but instead discovered his gravest misunderstanding. Hunr, or indeed any of the Balkar, were innocent of Kera’s murder. It’d been a fatal case of wrong place, wrong time. The murderers were a twisted pack from across the lands. They’d come to challenge the Balkar, and instead slaughtered the only wolf Tamra had ever loved.
Now duty bound to leadership, Tamra assumed the role of First, leading the Nighthunters to where they are today. His only alliance is with those of List, for his Second, Leohlic, grew to be the embodiment of a son Tamra had never known.
Enemies with Kanis dating back to a time when he led the Frecne, Tamra has also despised the wolf, finding ample opportunity to battle him whenever possible. With Kanis's leaving of Frecne, due to ever increasing age, the duo sought peace from one another. This peace lastest well, for both were honourable and would not break a treaty. It was thus that on a cold winter morning, where thick fog shrouded everything not in immediate view, that Tamra attacked Kanis, thinking him as the tresspasser he'd hunted for the last two days. A bloody battle ensued. Tamra was victorious, but not without consequence. The former Frecne Dragga had inflicted grevious wounding on the First, and after leading the Balkar to invade Koran after Lists beseechment, retired from his position.
The Human Behind the Wolf
The First is played by 19-year-old Chrisie, in Southwest England, who is the opposite of Tamra. (Which is lucky, otherwise we’d really have to keep in line!) Bubbly and warm, the not-so-evil Chrisie is a calm and collected member, and always ready to lend an ear to someone who needs help, or offer her valued advice to new members. When asked why is rping just so awesome, Chrisie answered with this:
“...Definitely the friends you make, and the whole experience of creating a character from nothing. When I joined this site over a year ago, Tamra didn’t exist, and now, he’s got a personality, feelings, emotions...We’ve pretty much grown up together, in fact, I think he’s become my alter ego *evil grin* ...”<br>
While we are hoping that Tamra hasn't become Chrisie’s alter ego, we have cherished her familiar face around The Sight, and respect her a great deal.
