ooc: EDIT- all I can say is ACCURACY FAIL and I blame summer exams (grrrr) V. sorry.
Depth sighed to the water. The varg was swimming around, ignoring her. For the first time in years, she shut out the world and turned her thoughts to her family.
All that she could remember of her pack was that they always seemed to hate her, but she had been terrified of a Kerl lifestyle. Once they had been killed, she only felt a sense of wonderful freedom, and her true power. She had roamed the lands, honing her hunting skills and becoming as powerful a Putnar as she could be. She had met another Kerl....
Her eyes misted over
-The sun shone like burning air, staining the grass mint. He lay on the bank, his paws glowing white, his body blistering blonde. His eyes were blue like a jay's iridescent plumes, his build lean and powerful. He smelled faintly of Herla, from last night's hunt. She smiled, and dropped her sleek head to the welcoming grass.-
She missed him so. She didn't care if the Balkar murdered her family, but they slaughtered her Leo. The tears burnt in her proud eyes.

The suns rays where strong this day. Streaming through even the thickets of canopy. Her eyes narrowed as she cursed Fenris with a low growl. A brave move for a varg, but she indeed refused to believe in such gods that let horrid things happen in the world. Even to the highest of the putnar.
Shaking her head she resumed her tracking, nostrils flaring as her muzzle dipped to the ground trailing a scent of another wolf. A kerl like herself had to be careful how many vargs she approached, because not all where friendly.
It was not long before whom she was searching for appeared. Now doubt by now this varg had sensed her presence. "Hello there." She growled, hoping to have found a decent companion for the day. Tikara was growing weary - and hungry as well. Perhaps this varg was the answer to her problems. She was overall failing at catching any lera herself and was to the point of asking for help.

As she dropped her head and silently mourned, a cutting voice growled through the rippled air. She looked up, seeing a hungry varg staring at her. It was an unusually friendly Kerl. She wasn't sure if she could trust her, so she simply replied "hello". She wasn't sure what she should say, unless she accidently insulted her- she was too embarrased to look Shadow in the eye now- but didn't want too appear like she believed in the gods. The silence began to loom, a menacingly easy route out of the conversation. Depth simply waited for the varg to talk to her.

Her head cocked momentarily as she thought it odd that the only word muttered from the fellow kerl was an echoed hello. Usually there was some kind of aggression or dominating stature that followed. Perhaps this female was very alone like herself. "I'm sorry. I don't usually go around begging for scraps..." She paused trying to carefully think out her next words as not to offend her newly acquainted varg. She quickly resumed, "..But I am rather on the verge of starvation."
You could barely tell through her thick coat that she was quite hungry, but it was only a matter of days before her ribs would begin to poke out. "You wouldn't happen to have a kill laying around do you?" In all fairness this was not a stupid question, for when vargs killed large lera, they would eat off of it for days at a time. That is, if they pack was of few or if it was a lone kerl like this one she happened to stumble upon. "Ah, again I am sorry - I just feel a little ill as of late..." She sighed casting her eyes to the ground. How pitiful she must seem, pathetic as well.

For the first time in months, a smile crept across her face. She had been like this when she became a Kerl. She had never really been aggressive, but had always been a little possessive. " Yes, I have a few rabbits nearby... excuse me..." She winced at the cracking noise in her bones as she rose to her paws. She crawled under the rhodedendron she was lying next to, and began to dig into the soft, cool earth. Her newly-washed paws were dusty and muddy, but in the small hole she found a few rabbit carcasses. She had eaten the ears off of one, not expecting company. She hoped this varg wouldn't mind.
She crawled out of the bush and laid the rabbits on the ground in between her and the varg. She lowered her head as permission to let her eat, and asked nervously "What's your name? I am Depth." She tried not to stare at the varg, wincing at her lack of social grace.

[please wait for me next time!]
The roar was load and clogged your mind, but that was just what Shadow needed as she perched herself in the crevice where it echoed louder. It made it impossible to think, which drove away her memories. The slightest feeling of melancholy swelled in her stomach. For some reason she felt sorry for the varg, she regretted these feelings, but she still needed to at least go back. Mainly, she needed to hunt, badly. She was just beginning to feel again, and along that came the slicing pain of hunger. Shadow sighed puffing a cloud out of her nose that was slightly visible. The edges fanned away. Feeling nothing tieing her to her sanctuary anymore she stood up, feeling little life in her. Shadow looked in the water, eager to feel the heat, but not waste energy on the swim. Shadow squeezed her lids closed. She lept off and landed with a loud splash in the water. This time the plunge had taken her farther down. She opened her eyes. Her eyes felt warm and a strange feeling came under her lids where little air bubbles were trapped. She blinked rapidly a few times then kicked her back legs hard pushing herself upward. She took in a deep breath and slowly paddled under the waterfall. Once she made it to the other side of the fountain of water, it suddenly became very cool compared to the hot waterfall. "I am Depth." The kerls voice spoke. Shadow stretched her legs out and swam to shore trying to touch the bottom the whole way. Finally her nails hit the lapidarian bottom. She gave a small burst of energy to get herself out of the drop off.
Shadow walked the rest of the way out. Her fur dripped in a chorus of little plips on the clay ground. She wasn't even looking at anything now, but scenting. A dissimilar one came her attention. She paused to blink the water out of her eyes. Shadow padded over to her little spot from earlier. She took a deep breath only to realize she had gotten water in her lungs while going under. It wasn't much but she still felt like she had *pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. She coughed quietly trying not to bring attention. She shook out her onyx fur spraying water within a few feet. She sighed and got down on her belly eager to rest more before she even thought of hunting. Remembering the smell she lifted her heavy head having trouble holding up. Another varg had come. She was chatting with the kerl with a bit of an embarrassed look. She varg was most likely lost, so she thought little of it and closed her eyes enjoying the still.
Shadow felt like she could die right now, which by the feeling of it, was not that far off. She wondered if the vargs would attack if she told them to keep it down, they were just like old story-tellers. She put their chatter away from her thoughts. While they were renewed with avant-garde thoughts of having to get up later on. For once in her life her thoughts were void, blank, and vacuous. Normally it was of her parents last cries, but for once, she just saw the light pink coloring of her eyelids.

Depth looked at the other varg, her keeen eyes scanning her for any clues as to where she came from. Looking up, she caught sight of Shadow, lying down with her eyes closed. Her fur was soaked through, and she was breathing oddly.
Depth bounded over, glad that she had come back, but also concerned for her health. She seemed to have swallowed a lot of water. "Shadow!" she exclaimed. "Are you alright? Do you want some rabbit?" Without waiting for an answer, she leapt away and dragged one of her rabbits over. A little nervously, she lowered herself to the ground next to her. Dropping her voice, so that only Shadow could hear, she whispered "I'm really sorry for what I said earlier, I hope that I can make amends."
Trying to avoid another awkward silence, she loped back to her kill and chased away a small group of flying scavengers, fighting the instinct to glance back at Shadow.

Feeling a bit dead mentally from being awoken from her beginning nap Shadow sighed and peeled her lids apart. Shadow pulled herself up, front half first rather than back. She blinked to clear her sight and sat up. She gave a nod in agreement to both questions the kerl asked her. Her eyelids hung low as she watched her bound over without really hearing the answer. She smelled fresh blood in the air. It made her mouth water and her stomach contort uncomfortably. A few birds chirped, well screeched really. Scavengers, they weren't all bad, it was mainly ravens and crows that gave her a hard time. Memories floated back rather that claw into her mind. She remembered a little sparrow bird following her with curiosity as she left her den. It followed her for a couple days. She thought the bird just wanted a carcass opened, but now she knew it wasn't a bird of prey. She pondered over the subject with a blank face as Depth got food. Her ears perked at what she said. She felt bad? Perhaps so... But it seemed unlikely, a forgiving kerl. Maybe it was a way to get a friend. It was an awful lonely life. She doubted it would be anything g more. But to be polite she gave a nod once again, but with a bit more response in the motion.
As the kerl brought over food more memories came. They were of her family, but for once, they were good.
I sat in our arched cave staring at the ceiling that was lined with my mothers fur, due to the fact that i sat under her. I got back farther between her legs so I could adjust my neck to a comfortable position to look around. After a couple minutes I nuzzled into her warm tan fur happily. I closed my eyes as she began to lick my face clean. She pulled up abruptly to see my father. I opened my lids to see him walk in with a small deer being dragged from his jaws. He pulled it inside proudly. He dropped it in front of us revealing his bloody snout. Her gestured for me to eat with his eyes. A stepped over and hooked my new, and sharps canines on the skin like he had shown me. I pulled back, surprised with how it gave way to my pull. I smiled and lowered my head to the kill. Eagerly filling my round belly with the meat. A while later my parents joined in, making sure I got the good parts. We finished most of the small black-tailed deer. They got no bigger than 4 feet tall to their back. I had nestled into my mothers stomach. She began to lick my face clean again. If I didn't need it this time I would have pulled away. But I was very tired, so I went limp next to her. I opened my eyes for one last time today to see the twilight sky turning dark. My father stepped in front of the eyes and curled up over us in protection.
Shadow blinked her eyes in surprise to see happy memories rather than the bad ones that haunted her. She tried to think back to the bad for only Tor knows why. But instead she only saw the part of her playing with her father. Shadow pulled back to the real world and got up to stretch. She walked back over, away from her little crevice from before. The smell of food was overpowering to her empty stomach. She stepped next to her and flashed a kind grin in thanks for taking care of her for today, for tomorrow she would be gone, in search of her pack to let them know she was still alive.[

Awkward silence. Again.
She rolled on her side, enjoying the feel of the dirt on her hot skin. Shadow looked determined. The other wolf just looked scared. Lucky Shadow. She had a quest, probably a family to avenge or something. She didn't see the point in that type of revenge. It wouldn't bring her family back, would it? She needed ambition. She needed something to DO, something exciting. Instead, she trotted over to the water to wash the dirt from her coat.
