diversions and deviations;
Brows drew together in confusion. What had seemed to be a relatively normal gathering was turning into an unpleasant meeting of three. Leif’s velvet sonar tipped back to meet her cranium, was this Synergy trying to blame his mistake in asking the question on her? How, when she’d done nothing to either of the males, could he be justified in laying the blame in her paws? How could he ask the question and not think it would cause some discomfort? She didn’t glare though, nor did she become angered or frustrated. That was not her ways. She remained sitting, her mind swimming as he looked between the both of them – then made apologetic motions. Strange when his words cut like claws.
Her sensors pricked forward then, watching the young male as he stepped back and made his decision. She smiled at him warmly still though, as if his words didn’t mean anything – and though she was a little confused and wounded by them they largely had no control over her life and where she went from here. “It was lovely to have met you,,, She spoke with no sarcasm, only what could be called complete and utter kindness, even understanding. “I’m sure you’re still welcome to remain, I don’t mind having you around here, you’re no bother and not quite the donkey.,, Head cocked right as she looked at him, her mahogany eyes wondering if he really was intending on leaving their company, or if he would take a second chance and remain. She might run across him again in these forests, and then maybe not, who knew?
She looked to Lach then, as if to ask if he minded the fellow young male stay – after all she wasn’t quite two years old. She might act that she was older, but her experience was narrow, she was simply open minded. Wise, hah! Perhaps to those who needed a reason, an idea, some council. But there were plenty wiser, with age to go along with it.
