Understanding lit in Semmorra's eyes. But as she looked towards the moon, she felt the tension increase in him and wished he would calm himself. "Hey Dax, all this thrill of thinking about the hunt is going to drive me insane," she said, though still not looking at him. "I'm going to try relaxing, you can join if you want, i'll just tell you how to do it." she growled softly. Semmorra felt the cool breeze ruffle through her and began her instructions "Okay, just tune out your hearing, but allow only my voice, close you eyes." she said softly, her own eyes closed, she needed this as much as him. "Now extend your claws and play with the dirt, just feel it in your paws. Feel the wind about you, and let your fur rise slightly." This was where semmorra usually calmed down but she didnt know about dax so she continued. "Now let your fur down, and scent the wind," As semmorra did this, she scented only the mann and the lera, and almost immediately her heart flared. Male wolves made her nervous, but she continued, "Now let every worry you have into the wind and howl." Semmorra lifted her auburn muzzle to the sky and howled her night song, letting the notes trill up and down the valley, proud and free. "Now open your eyes and look around you and breathe." Semmorra did not know if the mann joined her, but she certainly felt better. The wind still murmuring softly through her pelt. Semmorra looked at the mann and grinned.

His tipped auds swiveled toward the voice of the she-Varg, and his raised a brow at the oddness of her offer. Relaxing? What? At first, as she voiced her instructions, Dax continued looking at her with a look of utter increduality. As she closed her eyes, he hesitated before doing the same, and, -as it is that when one sense is cut off, the others become even stronger- he heard what had before been a peaceful, quiet night explode with a roar of a whole multitude of sounds and nocturnal creatures. The distant stream snapped and sighed, nearly cutting off the sound of Semmorra's breathing; he felt as if his heartbeat was in his eardrums and fought to push them aside, focusing on her voice. Becoming increasingly frustrated, Dax voiced a nearly inaduible growl and closed hus orbs as tightly as he could. Slowly it was as if the world melted away and it was only he and Semmorra inhabitating the meadow. The grasses, now slightly damp with nightly dew, felt bitingly cold to his pads and as she continued speaking, he became less and less aware of the world.
The wind was already bristling his hoary pelt, and he let it nibble at his skin until the fae told him otherwise. He pressed his muzzle into the invisible currents, and started, his eyes nearly watering from the effect of how strong the scents around him were; that both of the femme before him and a sudden and solitary burst of...fear?...that emitted from her momentarily. As her heartfelt howl erupted from her jowls and tumbled into the night air, Dax felt his own chest rise and he joined her, his deeper voice mingling with her lighter one and creating quite the melody.
He opened his eyes in a near daze and offered her a watery smile. "That was different." His muscles didn't feel weak, but they didn't feel strong anymore, either. Just incredibly relaxed, which he supposed was the she-wolf's intentions. "Thank you; I suppose I needed that."

"You're welcome." Semmorra yawned sleepily. Relaxing like that always made her tired. "So Dax, what did you notice?" she asked. Semmorra already knew what she had noticed. Pretty much everything that made a sound, a scent or moved, she could sense. Sometimes when the expireince was powerful enough, she could even taste whatever the object was. Semmorra looked to and fro, hearing the hollow music that played through the trees, the musical notes both beautiful and hideous at the same time. "wow." she said breathily. Semmorra padded over to where the trees were and looked at them. They were so old they looked black, but for the moonlight, that showed little whorls upon them, that were so intrigueing, Sammorra placed her paw upon them. The bark felt hard and warm underneath her cold pads. The carvings made her shiver where her nails scratched against them. Semmorra found a hole where the music came from, and sticking her muzzle inside, she growled softly. An echo sounded back, and this time she yipped loudly, her banner waving. All of a sudden, she saw a bright light from inside and jumped back. Immediatley, firebugs flew into the night air, their little bodies burning brightly. Semmorra was dazzled by them, they were like, a living star, brilliant and wonderous. Semmorra felt the need to chase resume, though it wasnt bloodthirst. Pure happiness shone in her eyes, "Come on Dax! Let's chase them!" she exclaimed. Semmorra padded over quickly to him, and nosed him in the side, inviting him to play.

As the myth goes, yawns are contagious and so Dax mimicked her, the world disappearing for a moment as his maw opened in a cavernous want for air. He thought for a moment before he replied: "Everything, now that I think about it. Every scent that permeated through the air was mapped out and distinct; every sound that rustled through the wind was brought to my immediate attention. It's too bad i couldn't do that and then hunt; I'd never go hungry again." As the she-wolf breathed a single syllable, his auds twitched and he stood quickly as she turned and ambled slowly toward the treeline. He cocked his head, bright cherry tassel waving in uncertainty. "What're you..where're you going?" He frowned as she set her paw against the thick trunk of a tree, unsure whether or not to follow. Before he could make up his mind, however, the fae had thrust her muzzle into a hollow in the tree and her sharp yip echoed loudly, making him nearly start in fright, which was then exacerbated by her sudden retreat backwards. He snarled, taken quite aback, his hackles raising and his tail lifting all in a simultaneous moment.
As soon as this split-second display of what the hell? had passed, Dax relaxed again as he realized that all that had produced itself from the hollow were a handful of fireflies, blinking a pale green and lighting up little patches of the meadow as they flew slowly around the wolves, their brilliant displays of light only calls to each other. He smiled at the sight, pricking his ears and giving a gentle woof to the femme as she approached him, her suggestion making his smile widen. Dax blushed as he felt Semmora's cold nose press against his fur, and he laughed nervously and loped a few steps ahead, swishing his tail in excitement.
Growling playfully, the mann felt all previous anxiousness fade; this was a fae that he could befriend and have a good time with. He dropped to his front legs, swiping gently at her muzzle before tearing off across the field. the wind rushed through his thick coat and grated against his skin, although he relished the feeling of the wind losing a race to him. Out of nowhere one of the bugs flashed it's bright body in his eyes and he growled, leaping up and twisting in a particularly futile effort to catch it in his jaws. With brightly lit eyes he looked back at Semmorra and laughed sheepishly, feeling rather foolish for a moment.

Semmorra grinned as the mann raced before and attempted to snap at a firefly that dared blink its light in front eyes. The wind seemed to warp around the two vargs as Semmorra laughed, and raced alongside her friend. Everything seemed to take in a distance to her, as she sighed gloriously with the wind, already far ahead of the blinking fireflies. But still she raced on, the trees becoming a great blur, as the wind howled in her face.
Semmorra felt the moon glow upon her fur, just as she felt the sun warm it, so the moon purified her. Pure joy welled up in Semmorra as she panted and raced ahead for a bit more and came to stop upon a grassy hillock. As she waited for a moment for dax to show up, she listened to the crickets singing to each other, their voices so lovely, with the night. Semmorra twirled after her tail, and laughed dizzily as she fell off the hill the direction she had climbed it.
Nothing seemed more lovely, than the thought of the wind on her fur, she thought. Truly it was wonderful to be one of the greatest putnar. But now she waited as she seen Dax, seeming to Fly his merry way to her. His body low and fast to the ground. Semmorra was amazed at his speed, she could never do that when she was concentrating. Laughing, she ripped grass up and threw it around to chase it, bumping into him. Growling softly, she touched him again on the side, and said. "You're it."

Dax could hear her paws pummeling the earth beside him and he felt a surge of adrenaline burn up his veins as the two left the menagerie of glowing bugs behind. As long and thin as he was, Dax himself was quite the aerodynamic Varg; his ears were pinned forcefully against his head by the wind and his tail was flying along behind him, nothing but an indistinct splash of red to any passerby. It took him a moment to realize that he had lost Semmorra, and he slid to a stop, hind legs nearly sweeping out from behind him as he slewed on one hock and pricked his ears forward, listening intently for the fae. His tongue lolled from his jaws as he panted heavily, and it took but a moment for a tinkling of a laugh to reach his ears before he was loping toward her, a wide grin plastered across his silvery maw. As the distance between them steadily decreased, he chuckled to himself as he realized she was chasing her tail- but his demeanor grew worried as the younger femme tumbled down the side of the grassy dune, not head over heels but almost. Afraid she had somehow injured herself, he bolted forward.
This lightning pace, however, was brought to a halt a few paces from the she-wolf; she was back on her paws and tearing up the loam with sharp claws, tossing clods of sodden earth like a young pup would, her lithe body buffered against his side. He pushed back with his shoulder, a funny sort of kidding smirk playing upon his jaws. "I suppose I'll need to give you a head start, then," He sighed, feigning exasperation. "You have ten seconds...onetwothreefourfivesixseveneightnineten!"
Dax laughed as he chased Semmorra, her fancy pelage a clear beacon to him, even in the shadows of night.

Semmorra laughed even harder as she raced ahead of Dax, his countdown clearly a cheat. Semmorra decided to give him a race, so whirled backwards and ran the direction she had come, and whipped past the red mann, who looked nothing more than a blur to her. Semmorra let the wind carry her now, rather than trying to race it. Her steps becoming lighter and rythimic, as her surroundings blurred even faster. She was in the throes of running free when she stumbled upon a rather large and conveiniently placed rock, flipping forward into the midnight dust. Though her paw pained, this was still funny to her, as she waited for Dax to catch up. Semmorra, still panting, grinned silly, when Dax approached. "How was that?" she asked, her tail high and proud. "So whatya want to do now?"

Dax was just beginning to enjoy the thrill of chasing something when he heard a laugh and was almost barrelled over by the fae, who had discretely whipped back around and thrown him for a loop. Jowls hangning open in confusion and disbelief, dax growled to himself as he realized that he was now quite far behind the femme. Idiot, idiot, idiot. he self-conscious seemed to say ina sing-song voice with every step he took, trying to make up for lost time. The twlight wind moaned in his ears, a single, low tone that rose in pitch before dropping back down, adjusting its haunting baratone voice to match the varg's speed.
Before him, and in near slow motion, he had spotted the rocky outcropping before Semmorra and watched with wide eyes and a dazzling grin as the she-wolf tripped over it and herself and was sent into the air, leaving nothing but a lupine heap. Although he tried to smother away the laughter, Dax burst out loudly, though at the same time he ambled forward to make sure the rock had inflicted no real damage. "You," he spoke between chortles, "Are ridiculous." He was grinning as he said it, wagging his tail in obvious glee. "I think we should rest for a while; your coordination seems to be getting steadily worse." He winked at her before lowering his head to get a better looking angle at the paw. "You are alright though, yeah?"

Semmorra laughed softly at his last response, and agreed to it by snuffing out the freshest grass. It turned out it was only yards away from where she tripped, the rocky crags giving an indefinite view of the meadow below them. Semmorra sat upon her haunches and let her breathing return to normal, her heart still however, hammering in her ears. "Dax, I may be rediculous, but let no varg ever say i dont know how to have fun." she growled softly. Semmorra let the silence between them pass comfortably for awhile before she spoke again.
"Remember that relaxation technique I showed you?" she inquired, "Well, that first part was actually grid-mapping, as my father called it. Its where all the scents you can whiff more clearly, if you add it to you hearing...You can tell where your prey is." she said. "That was how I normally hunted, but was unsucessful because, in all truth, i dont know how." . Semmorra saw more of a Kerl in herself even as she grew in her family, but none of this seeming to bother her at all.
She felt the thrum of the winds as they beat and pulsed softly around her auds, slightly tickling them. She whined softly and pawed at her nose where an insect bit her, irritating it immensly. After she thought about it, nothing really seemed to phase her, not even strangers.
Semmorra turned to her friend and asked "Dax, what is the first thing you think about when you meet new friends or enemies? I know what i think, and usually it happens to be that, well. No matter what, every person i meet, and every small value they teach me. I hold on to it, because no matter how un-noticable a person was, they always leave a big paw-mark on me." she said quietly. "And even though they may go on eventually, it still slightly hurts because then you know you have met a good friend, when it hurts to let them go. That's what i always think about."

Dax remained standing, looking at the she-wolf with a crooked grin. "This is true," he said with a chuckle, far more relaxed now that he had been minutes earlier. He settled down beside Semmorra, flicking his banner round his paws. With a contented sigh he stared forward, the black sky stretching endlessly above him, though Tor shone bright, a welcomed interruption to the blanket of ebony. The she-wolf spoke again, and Dax let one ear swivel toward her, her voice flooding his thoughts suddenly. "That makes sense," he nodded, "All in all, my senses were sharpened, and I have pretty good hearing anyway. Your father must be very wise. And we'll fix that," he added with a grin. "I don't know how fast of a learner you are, but I'm not in any rush. Hunting is too much fun for me to want to hurry through it."
Dax gave the she-wolf his full attention as she whined, and he turned his head worriedly toward her. "Bug get you? The mosquitoes are awful out here; it's because the snow's melting and leaving a bunch of standing water behind."
Dax grinned as the fae began to speak, and he realized for the third of fourth time how very smart she must be, how thoughtful she was for being young. She's probably been through more than she's letting on to, he spoke to himself. Probably things I'll never experience. Maybe things I'll never want to. "I think about the same way, I think," he spoke after a short silence. "Even the most awful of Vargs can teach you something, even if it's to be humble, or to know when it's better to run, you know?" He hoped with a wince he didn't sound like a coward, but he continued with a saddened look. "Well, you can't look at everyone and think about when they might leave. If you think that way, you'll never be able to trust anyone."

Semmorra nodded her head at his last response. She never meant to think that way, it just happened as she grew. Her eyes sparkling, she growled teasingly "I curse the snow then, with its ability to give life to the most annoying insects." Though she did not show it, she was excited for tommorow's lesson, as the great moon had gradually reached its peak, dipping lower and lower.
Semmorra drifted to sleep eventually, listening to Dax's voice, it was so comforting. Much like her brother's when he made up his wild tales to calm her during a storm. She whimpered softly in her sleep. Exhaustion finally drew its paws over her eyes as she struggled against it one last time. "Thanks Dax, for everything.........." she mumbled in her sleep... as the stars twinkled and watched over them, gradually fading away as Fenris rose to stretch his arms.

As the phenomenon of circadian clocks go, Dax could feel in his body the night winding back down; indeed, the moon was slowly beginning to move across the sky, it's zenith over. A feeling of tiredness washed over him suddenly, dragging his eyelids down and he felt a state of torpor nagging at his heels; the two Vargs had been running all night and before his chance encounter with Semmorra he had been traveling all day. Though Dax was capable of endless miles at a relaxed trot, their games of tag earlier combined with a lack of suitable meal the past day or two had left the mann in a more susceptible state. He was looking forward to the morning; if not because it would mean he would be better-rested then because he would be able to hunt with a companion, something he both enjoyed and missed doing.
Staring around himself and Semmorra, Dax remained alert; the two had not found a den and were out in the open. He listened to the fae's breathing; as it deepened and slowed he realized she had fallen asleep and he looked over at her and smiled; it reminded him of his siblings and made his heart pang as he pined for them. The wind howled around them and he felt the chill deep in his bones; as the younger she-wolf thanked him, the mann smiled again and settled down beside her, curling his tail around his paws and nose and pressing his back against her side in an effort to make sure the two of them would stay warm throughout the remainder of the night. "Goodnight Semmorra," he whispered with eyes closed, just before sleep overtook him.

Semmorra was disturbed from her glorious dream, as sunlight filtered through her eyes, blinding her momentarily. She grumbled in turn and slowly rose to her feet, shaking out the drowsiness. That's what i get for not sleeping in a den she thought glumly to herself, wishing she could sleep more. Her body ached for it, but as she noticed Dax was yet to awaken, she decided to surprise him. Quietly she slunk away, snuffing out her quarry, her body demanding nourishment. *** Blood stained her maw as she happily pranced back to the cleaing, a hutch of rabbits in her maw. where she saw that Dax was still slumbering. Poor guy, she thought to herself.. But not wanting to be a spoil sport, she dropped her catch proudly in front of him and nudged him gently with her paw. "Come on Dax, wake up." she whined, nudging the food closer. "I brought breakfast!" She turned around for a moment, blinking her eyes. Though she may have caught quite a few, they still put up a fight. One managed to kick her again in the eye, while another had bitten her in the leg, where she was now bleeding. She whined softly....

The calls of lera laughed in the dragga's ears and he moaned in his slumber, paws twitching in some sort of a hunter's dream. It took him a long moment to realize that the stoat that was nudging him in his dream was also nudging him in reality, and that it was not a stoat, but his friend's paw. Sullen from lack of sleep, Dax opened one eye and realized simultaneously that Semmorra was gone from beside him, that there was a definite scent of blood in his proximity, and, judging by the staleness of the scrape beside him, the russet she-wolf had been gone for quite some time. Still in his early morning oh-I-just-woke-up daze, the fact that Semmorra was standing directly in front of him was overlooked and he scrambled to his feet, confusion obvious in his stare. His brow furrowed- Semmorra was here, and there was blood. He looked curiously at her, and all that he could process at the moment was "Did you leave?"
He eyed her suspiciously, still utterly confused at the crimson liquid that had stained her muzzle and the clutch of rabbits (as he had yet to put two and two together in that regard) that were sprawled lifelessly before him, their eyes dark and glazed over. Her kills looked incredibly appealing, Dax felt saliva pool in his jowls and he licked his lips, sharp fangs glinting in the light. "Okay, hold on- if you just managed to bring in three grown rabbits, then why am I teaching you how to hunt again?" The question was half-teasing, half-almost serious, but his expression clouded when he saw a trickle of blood running down her foreleg. "Bug get you again? That had to be one serious mosquito."
Widening his eyes and attempting to look as adorable as he could- afterall, he still looked rather puppy-ish, and this had always been an advantage for him among his femme friends- he sat down and looked at Semmorra, whining, "You're gonna share with me...right?" To add to the effect, he thumped his tail against the grasses, his pale cerulean orbs glittering. Though Dax was a rather proud creature, he was not below attempted cuteness in order to obtain a meal.

Semmorra grinned sheepishly, "Yeah sorry, i'm really restless, nearly at all times of the day, but i wasnt gone for long." she assured him. "Of course i'm going to share," she said. "Those are for you, ive caught my share, i just didnt know how much you ate." she stated. Looking down at her leg she sighed, "Yup, it was a pretty hardcore bug." She smiled again, though the scent of the blood was in her snout, making her disoriented. "I caught those by chance, they were still asleep in their burrow." she said. "They still put up a fight." Semmorra couldn't help but wave her banner proudly in response to the Dragga's hilarious attempt at being adorable. She nudged the kills towards him again to prove that they were his, and turned around to begin her search for a stream. "Dax, i'll be right back, i'm thirsty." she said. ** The blood had already clotted by the time she reached the stream, her throat unbearably dry. She lapped feverishly at the crystalline water, so pure and fresh, and finally sated her thirst. Semmorra plodded back to the clearing, where her friend had already finished the rabbits.
"So what is our next adventure?" she asked, sitting beside him, her ears ever alert for the slightest noise.
