I recently heard that an NFL player, Micheal Vick, who had been released from prison in May of this year had been drafted to continue his NFL career. Vick was caught running an illegal underground dog fighting rink, where not only did he fight the dogs- but also drown, electrocuted, or used other fatal methods of killing the dogs. He pled guilty, and was sentenced to 23 months in lockup in late 2007.
Other than that- he's had trouble with the law in the past, mostly involving drugs.
This got us riled up at work, I'm just wondering what you guys think.

I watched Vick grow up at VA Tech mostly because I live in VA, it was a sad day when I first heard of what he had done. Many young people looked up to him and he didn't live up to his role model responsibilities. He should have gone away for a lot longer. At least he did serve time and lost all of his endorsements ending in him filing bankruptcy, etc. He was an amazing college quarterback, an okay professional quarterback; but it's not going to be easy for him to walk back into a professional atmosphere, especially as quarterback. While no, I don't believe that he should be playing, the NFL lets players in that have been accused of or guilty of much worse crimes so I knew that they would let Vick back in. We'll see how long he lasts, if he gets any endorsements, which is where players make most of their money, and not to mention that a lot of players and fans are avid animal lovers and animal rights activist. In short, we'll see how long he lasts. I figured if anyone picked him up it would either be the Raiders or the Eagles. Go figure....

I don't think he should be allowed to play because what he did was cruel, but I guess he should get a second chance.
