The air was sickly sweet; it burnt her nostrils and calmed her mind. This place brought back memories, and though they weren't all good, it fueled her reason for being here even more-so.
The trees were sweating in the heat, though night was upon the Balkar's terrain. The full moon was bright, it cast its aura across the landscape, lighting the way for varg and herla alike. Clouds were rolling in the distance, yet to steal the moon they would have to speed up; for time was ticking, and they were losing.
All was quiet tonight in the male's landscape; there were no patrols, no stink of sewage. There was nobody here - except her. The ebony varg passed the borders lightly, quietly. Her darkened paws barely made a whisper as they trod the earth in unison; emerald orbs glistening as bright as the moonlight. If one looked close enough, they'd see that black silhouette move; those eyes dance in darkness.
A smile crept across her maw; canines licking the edge of her lips. It brought back the memories of her cub-hood, and how she had tricked the Balkar into letting her join - the only female member; and that was why she was hated. That was the trigger for the Demon and Leohlic feud, even though, now it was so much more. It was about survival.
As she passed the myriad of trees and bushes, her sleek head turned to face a dark shadow; though appearing to be nothing, her nostrils flared to the scent of a familiar wolf. Though a name could not be placed atop her tongue, a snarl erupted from her lips. She knew that scent, and she'd know his name. "Show yourself scum. Face the one who got away..."
