Hello again, my Koranian Vargies. So… how long has it been since we initially tried to start this thing…? >xD

Anyhowl, here it is. The official War Thread.

Our original plot, is any of you remember it, has changed greatly, due to the inactivity of the pack and disappearance of the key characters. Which is a real shame in my opinion… our original plan was quite epic. But this is what happens with inactivity, things fall apart. *hint*hint*GET BACK TO POSTING YOU PUPS!

The new plot is much more simplified; while attempting to thwart a raid on our lands, our Dragga, Kadin suffers a gruesome death at the fangs and talons of the Balkar vargs, Carcharoth and Carnage. An unlucky Tourniquet watches from the brush, and brings the news back to the rest of Koran. Thus, the call to retribution and war begins…

As many of you should have seen by now, both starting threads are up. If you’re behind, I urge to you read them whenever you can.

Tourn’s thread has been locked until after the Role Call is completed on June 5th. I’ll be talking with Carch soon to get an estimate on how many of his Vargs will be in on this as well. This way, we’ll know exactly who will be participating and we can work with what numbers we have.

Discussions for the war, as well as any suggestions and questions, will be posted here. Also, I’d like for you to announce here or pm me if you will not be joining the war. I know that a few of us can get pretty busy even during the summer months, but if real life interferes too much, than better not keep others waiting for your posts.

I want as many people as possible to remain active for this, and I’d like to see it through all the way to the end. I hope Koran will be inspired to post more than ever. This could be a wonderful thing for us to get active and become a part of the Sight community once more.

Before this war starts, will we have a "draft" of the pack that is trained into warriors? Will certain vargs gain rank within the training and head a "troop"?

And will other packs help us? I know this is mainly between Koran and the Balkar, but shouldn't other packs fear the Balkar and want to fight/destroy them as well? If so, what packs are our closest allies? Will it become open to kerls and the other packs' members? And doesn't that open us up to spies among our ranks? That would be bad, but a good plot twist all the same for future use.

Most of us in the pack didn't know Kadin, as I hadn't. But for the war's sake, shouldn't we react as if we knew him all our lives in Koran and how great he was, even if we didn't know him? Because launching a war over a varg only a handful of wolves knew seems slightly far-fetched, even though Kadin was the Dragga. I know all of Koran will fight, loyalty always, but for the sake of the plot, I think it's a good idea to exxagerate and dramatize that. Maybe if every varg had a story or personal experience with him. Then his death will touch more hearts and the war can be more dramatic and sensible.

This is just how I would answer (a few of) your questions- I'm not at all sure what Phantom will say, but...

I don't think an IC draft would really be necessary.. and certainly not training, since that would just leave a lot more opportunities for people to fizzle out and disappear before the actual war thread even begins. As it is, waiting on people to reply will be (and always has been) a looming risk, so I think the less obstacles we try to throw in, the better (not to mention actually playing-out training threads is really tough ). It was a good question, though!

And as for Kadin, I didn't know him either; he and Kai had never met at all, so I'm not going to make up some personal experience (though I don't see why you couldn't if you really wanted to). As for Kai, he'll just be fighting out of loyalty to the pack and Phantom, more than anything really having to do with Kadin on a personal level. That's just me, though Like I said, I'm not trying to speak on these issues in place of Phantom, as I'm not sure exactly what she's got planned, I just thought I'd throw my two cents in!

Kai brings up good points. "Rev up" threads would only draw things out without need for it.. We don;t want to be waiting for others to post too long.

As for Kadin. If you want to, you can just say your character knew him if you want to. But, if you don;t feel comfortable doing so, by all means, role play with honesty; if your character didn't know him well or at all, then that's fine. I know that he was never a frequent poster after his disappearance. Also after he and I were given our positions as Alphas, Koran activity dropped significantly and all of our somewhat active characters spread out of our territory.

Think of the plot as a way of bringing Koran back together again. Out of Kadin's death, we get the rebirth of the pack. [that's what I'm hoping for, anyway.]

I don't think we'll be requiting other packs to help us fight. Personally, I would love to pair up with Ge-Rad one day, but I don't know if this would be the time for it.
