The ivory mann had paused just momentarily before both Ayame and his Beta flew past him towards the stone den. A strangely familiar sent becoming stronger, yet the mann couldn’t quite put his nose on it. With Ayame’s raised hackles and sudden outburst it soon became clear what was once a slight scent on the breeze had emerged into a serious threat. Even a adolescent grizzly could be a threat to the members of any pack, though this creature was no adolescent. Much larger than any grizzly the Dragga had seen in his days wandering the pack lands. The ebon fae was first to strike out, and she was trying to fend off this monster with no aid. She barked orders for the pack to flee, the passion for her family ringing clear in her voice. Clearly though the adrenaline was still coursing through her veins blocking judgment. There was no way she could hold this creature for long. No sooner had the ivory mann thought those words then Ayame was flung from the hide of the mammoth grizzly. Instinct told him that he should race to the aid of his fallen pack mate but she was soon on her paws just as Drathlic had begun his wave of attacks followed by ghostly form. Silent!?
Indeed the form was that of the ghostly Beta of List making a beeline for the grizzly. Rushing to the aid of the two she was soon overturned by Drathlic, as was Ayame. Gryffin had darted to aid as well and as such Sudak followed on her heels after a quick shake of his head bringing him back to his senses. He needed to get in this fight if they were to have any chance. One by one List members were thrown from the mammoth form. Sudak also received a paw square across the jaw tossing his limp form tumbling a few yards. Throwing off a daze he rose to return to the battle but was confronted with a fleeing Drathlic, grizzly hot on his heels. Gryffin raced after the couple just as Sudak lost sight of the dueling duo.
He began to race along the riverbank after them but moments too late. As he neared the spiraling stairway that would bring him to his family, the massive form of the grizzly tumbled from above out of the abyss, the swift form of the Dragga jumping clear not a moment too soon. His ears catching the wrenching sound of the bear’s life being snuffed out with a single crack. His gaze didn’t catch that of Drathlic but a secondary splash through the torrential rains brought the suspicion that he may gone over as well. The cries from his mate confirmed his fear as his eyes scanned the rivers raging waters. Without hesitation Sudak raced the riverbank clearing logs and debris, his pads punching into the soaking terra. His voice howling out through the rain, “Drathlic!” His heart was racing, his eyes following suit, though through the increasing lightning and rain not even the keenest of senses could track the lost Beta.
The ivory Dragga had no intent on giving up. He tore through the river bank, his breath and voice clearly drenched in desperation. He leapt yet another log landing cleanly on a rock soaked in the blinding rain. His paw swept loose while he caught himself with another. It was too late however as he saw the river heaving a log towards the shoreline catching itself bluntly in Sudak’s chest. A cry raging from his muzzle louder than that of the thunder overhead. His body flailed through the air landing abruptly on a pile of rocks in the depressed riverbed, his head catching one squarely. His vision faded to a blur while the log landed upon him, pinning him along the sunken shore of flood waters. Through the blur, what he thought was the limp form of Drathlic raged down the river out of sight while he tried with one last faint breath to whisper out, “Dra…th” His eyes shut as he entered unconsciousness. He was very much alive but beat up none the less. The flood waters lapped at his paws as he lay partially beneath the strewn debris.

Ayame thought for sure that Gryffin would have turned and left her for dead and in all honestly she hoped she would along with the rest of the pack. Maybe this would show Gryffin that the ebon fae was for real, that she would serve and honor List till the day she died even if that meant today, and that meant all the members including her Drappa. The one thing that mattered most to her is that her family was safe from danger and she would do anything in her power to make it so. Her fiery hues grew in shock when her pack did not flee to safety; instead they aided her in the fight. The silver fae seemed to appear from nowhere, a ghost showing when she was most needed. Each and every pack member that attempted to wrestle the monstrosity seemed to be flung to the ground with ease, including the ebon fae once more. This time the breath was evicted from her lungs, and it took her a few moments to regain her strength. Then the Beta Mann rushed past her, deeper in the stone castle in hopes that the bear would follow, he had a plan…or so it seemed.
Rising to her paws, the pack seemed to be going in different directions. Gryffin had followed Drathlic and the grotesque bear, while Sudak went around the back by the river to help. First the ebon fae scanned her surroundings looking for the silvery fae who had come to her aide, but nowhere was she to be seen, she seemed to disappear as fast as she had arrived, though Ayame was sure she was around Silent would not leave her family in desperate need of saving. Then she took off in a sprint chasing after her Dragga to help wherever she could assist. Even though pain raced through her entire body, she paid no attention to it; she would have time to recoup later. Her large auds perked straight ahead, there was an enormous splash followed by a smaller one.
“This can’t be good….”[/b] She thought to herself.
Running as fast as she could she saw three bodies floating down the river; a motionless, limp body of the bear along with Drathlic, and the icy Dragga who arrived upon the river bank unconscious and motionless. She knew she would never be able to catch up to Drathlic; he had been carried too far down the river, so far that she could no longer see his floating body. Ayame ran up to Sudak and nuzzled him as she began to whine and lick his muzzle. She knew he would be okay, he was out of harm’s way for now, but she knew with the pounding rain that soon these banks would flood and along with them take another member of her family along with it; one member was enough for now. Until Gryffin or Silent arrived by their side, she would not leave the only “father” she had ever known, looking for Drathlic would have to wait. Pawing gently at the muddied pelt of the Dragga she tried to wake him as she waited for the rest of the pack to arrive….[/color]

It all happened so fast. All she knew was that the bear was upon her and the pack, others rushed in to help, including the Drappa Gryffin. Golden eyes flashed over the pack, almost everyone had joined the frey, the sight f the bears paws flashing in each direction towards the many that surrounded it. However a sudden rush threw her away from the great looming beast, the jaws clamping onto her scruff with such gentle force. Her muzzle bounced gently off the side of the one whom threw her to safety, the scent came on to her so strong. Drathlic. It had been so long since the last time she had seen him, the time she had confessed her love. Her head spun as she fell to the earth, crashing into a heap of silver fur and unable to get her bearings quick enough to see the bear chase her Beta Mann from the building and towards the cliff edge.
She got to her paws in a flash, but it was already too late, the manns fate was sealed by the time she reached the door. Her golden eyes clapped onto the sight of the bear falling from the cliffs edge towards the raging torrent below. Accompanied by her love. Her paws flew. Voices boomed in her ear as the packs Drappa shouted after the falling varg. The ghostly figure of her Dragga had barely been missed by the great brutes fumbling over the abyss. He was soon back up and racing to try and aid the ruddy male. Ayame hot on his heels. It was all commotion that the young fae could not comprehend. Her brain panicked, her head also took suit. Her golden orbs stared at Gryffin. Before the silver fae knew it, her paws were taking her on a similar path that her packmates had taken, yet they strayed off the beaten track and took her through the forest towards her home lands. Her brain ticking over, trying to sift through the information to pick out any pieces that seemed moderately acceptable to her in this fragile state. She had no control, her mind went blank all of a sudden, her brain decided that she need not know for the time being. Almost as if a caring parent would not tell a child a secret in fear it would set them on the wrong journey to a bad life. Silent would have no recolection, or very few memories of the events that went on. All she knew that she was running, and would keep on until she felt safe in her own pack.

Everything slowed. Gryffin stood at the edge of the cliff, her heart pounding. If she had been here 5 seconds faster than she too would have fell over the edge and fallen into the cold abyss of torrents and rocks. Her leg's shook, unsure if she were cold or just from the state of the matter.
Emerald eyes grew ablaze as her adrenaline pumped through her body. The sound of her pounding heart drowning out the rain that lashed at her. She was drenched to the bone, but that was not why she felt cold.
From the corner of her eye she spotted a moving shape. As white as a ghost. It shook Gryffin out of her state and she gasped. Sudak.
She heard the scraping of paws and saw the last remaining sight of a sweeping Ayame. In a rush she dashed out after the ebon fae. In the corner of her eye she swore she had seen a silver form run out from behind her, But when Gryffin took a double take she had found no sign of the form any longer.
She wanted to stop and look but her heart seeked a greater need. To reach ehr mate that now lay in peril by the river's bend. Gryffin's paws skidded, the pain from it stung her, making her yelp. She had forgotten how she had sprained it in battling the bear.
Gryffin skidded to s top next to Ayame. To focused on the white form to be paying her much attention specifically. Her muzzle lowered to nuzzle the male Why wouldn't he wake up? Fear locked onto the drappa's body as she visibly shook. True the alphas had been on bitter terms, but now more than ever did the drappa need her dragga. She knew at the moment of crisis how much she cared for him.
With a sweep of her auburn banner she barked to Ayame "Quick we must move him" She knew the midnight whisper had the same thought as she did of the situation. As the rain pelted the little pack, the river would be dangerous.
She lifted her head, quickly scanning for the ruddy male named Drathlic. She had spotted the bear, The river water sucking at him, pulling him toward its depths, to be lost forever to the trenches.
Gryffin gasped. She wouldn't let them take Sudak. "Come on Ayame" She coughed as her back feet slipped into the muddy banks.
They would have to look for Drathlic after...

The ebon fae’s heart raced, her muddied ivory Dragga was not moving and as the rain plummeted down from a ever darkening sky, the river was rising and soon would flood the areas around it. He was breathing but would not move, the growing river lapped at his paws and as the water began to get deeper where they were his paws began to float and move with the water. Ayame’s fiery hues searched around looking for someone from her pack, but no one was to be found. She felt like her life was being torn apart, gazing down the rapid river she could no longer see sight of the bear or the packs beloved Beta Mann, the silver emissary had seemed to disappear in thin air just as she had appeared and the Drappa…where was the Drappa. She began to panic, then as if on cue she saw emerald eyes charging towards them. A sigh of relief escaped her chest; at least Gryffin was accounted for.
Ayame stepped away slightly to make room for the Drappa to approach her Dragga. As long as the ebon fae had been with the pack she hadn’t seen the alpha’s together very often, in fact they were hardly on speaking terms; but here now in the darkest hour it seemed that all the tension between the two seemed to melt away, Gryffin feared losing her love. Trembles seemed to erupt out of Gryffin’s fear; they needed to move Sudak and fast. For once, the ebon fae and the tri-hued Drappa were on the same page, Ayame’s auds perked as Gryffin barked a command about moving the Dragga, she nodded in agreement, no words were needed.
Bending down she grabbed the scruff of the soaked and unconscious Drappa, sinking her paws into the muddy banks she began to pull, her paws slipping with every move she made. Digging deep into the muddy ground, she had to find a way to brace herself to drag Sudak’s limp body. She grabbed his scruff once again and pulled as hard as she could, the suction that was holding the Dragga to the ground broke and he moved slightly up the bank, and with Gryffin’s help, they would bring Sudak to safety, and save what was left of the small pack of List.

((Wow...Sorry I missed all the fun and excitement List! X.X" Moving kindof takes everything out of you...))
Thunder roared over head, but Orion kept running. Mud splattered his fine black and gold coat, his eyes of sunshine blinking through the stinging drops of rain. He had to get back, he feared the castle from the stories his mother had told him, and the only safe place would be back within the safe boundaries of List. Lightning streaked across the sky at his heels, his pelt soaked and heavy on his skin.
A thundering roar erupted through the sky that did not belong to the booming clouds above, causing the adult mann to halt in his hurry. The sound had echoed from the castle itself, and Orion had been on his own long enough prior to know a Grizzly when he heard it. His paws sank in the muddy ground, and the rain pelted his fur as he stood in awe at the direction of the castle. I can't go back now...What good would I do? Besides, the rest of the pack is there...they don't need me.
It was as these few words passed through his head that a streak of silver and ivory raced by him in a panic. His fur was pelted with more mud and muck as the fae ran by, and only fleetingly could he see the identity. It was Silver; panic in her eyes and fear plaguing her heart. Was that how he had looked, running from the same threat as she? A growl slowly seeped from his ebony muzzle, and eyes of gold sparkled furiously. He would not be a coward, he would stop running away. As a mann, he would face the danger head on, as his Father Bristol would have, and how his mother Fiory would have wanted.
On paws as swift as the wind, Orion flew. It took half the time it seemed to return to the cursed place in the bloody rain, but Orion did not stop. He followed his nose, following the scent of his pack mates and of the blood that filled the air. His paws splashed in the crimson waters as they carried him up onto a ledge. A howl raced through the air, the howl of his aunt grieving and in pain. Pray to Fenris I am not too late! Mother I have shamed you for running, Please let me not be to late to redeem myself!
A glimmer out of the side of his eyes caused him to stop and nearly falter in the rain. A bear carcass floated by on the nearby river, blood soaking the water as it repeatedly became hung up on jagged rocks and bramble in it's way. It's head was a sickening lopsided mess, it's eyes gleaming with the lightning overhead in silent death. A shiver ran up the mann's spine as he changed course and raced along the river bed, hoping perhaps to find the remaining members of his pack of List.
Slowly two figures came into sight and as he raced onward and lightning clapped overhead, a third ivory varg came into view. It was Gryffin and Ayame, and Sudak unconscious with them. He arrived in a flurry of wind and rain, his pelt soaked to the bone and caked with mud from his mad dash. He couldn't believe his cowardice; running away when his pack had desperately needed him. His eyes of gold sparkled with tears and with the sinister rain of the day. As soon as Sudak had been dragged upon the shore, Orion took to him as well, grasping his Dragga firmly and pulling with all his might. Sudak was about his size, if not bigger in muscle mass, and yet Orion had the fire in his heart and the determination in his genes to pull at least the front half of the powerful ivory mann onto his back. He hoped Gryffin would understand, and that Ayame would help.
"We need to get out of here Aunt Gryffin" Orion barked, not really having heard himself due to the powerful storm and the raging river. It had been ages since Orion had called Gryffin so lovingly a name. Yet he did not waste his time discussing it with Gryffin or Ayame. Instead he stared them both down, with eyes that were a spitting image of his mothers, orbs glowing in a fiery defiance. Orion was definitely his mother's son and it showed with the power and spirit he showed with those mesmerizing eyes.
((really bad, I know...and Slightly god modding a bit...But only enough to close this thread...Unless, you wanted to do more here Gryffin? I figured this thread was pretty much at it's end, being that there were new threads and all back in List. I just wanted a 'final say' cause I hadn't expected to be gone so long with the move and I didn't want Orion to look like such a coward. *Always had the intention of having him turn around* ))
