Hall Of Shame
Where member's horrendous spelling and grammar mistakes are displayed for all to see!
Welcome, one and all, to Fenris' Hall Of Shame! Now I know what you're thinking, what the hell is she doing? Well, I'm being driven round the bend, by some of the mistakes i see in some posts, and I'm not on about your typos, because hell, everyone makes them, and they're fine with me. No, no, I'm on about the inability of some members to use the english language properly. (I could go on about how colour and favourite are both spelt with a U, but, I think I'd lose that battle. =P Due to being a little bit outnumbered. =P But hey I like to nit-pick!)
I'm weird in the respect that one of my major pet-peeves is when people can't seem to use the correct 'there' 'their' and 'they're', because it's so damn simple I honestly can't see how people can get it wrong. But I've seen some cracking stuff that just makes the mind boggle on here, on a site, for creative writing, that I just had to share. (Thanks to being nudged into it on msn. So technically, this isn't my fault.)
Also, since Wolfbane recently made a 'Homework Help' subboard, I really hope no one asks for help on their English homework. =P
So that I don't get shouted at by people because I'm ripping apart their english "skills", the people who typed these atrocities will remain anonymous, and I've changed some of them a little bit, so they're less recognisable.
If you'd like to help me add to this (since I only have so much spare time in which to trudge through threads), then PM me with the paragraph the mistake is in. laped up the water like she was dieing of thirst - I think I'm dieing of laughter.<name1> cept asking again and again, in tell <name2> answered her. - I don't know whether to start with 'cept', or 'in tell'I was born intelligant - I am in such awe of your intelligance.I don’t necissarily sleep then - You don't necissarily know how to spell either love.Haveing - I'm just dieing to find some more of these.who is annoying beyond belive i wore a letter about it - Did you know? Interesting. I just hope this doesn't cause any trouble. I like the little comments you made, some of them were funny.

Well I'm glad someone sees the funny side, and isn't offended. ^^ just the effect I was looking for.
Although calling me a neurotic wench and/or finding a mistake I might have made are also acceptable options. =p ^^

I would soooo end up having some of the most obvious and stupid errors like some of those posted or worse if it were not from my beloved spell check and Microsoft word. I adore them with all my life.

haha yeah, see I can never be bothered with typing it out on word, so my posts usually have one or two typos. But if I'm unsure of a spelling, I have an old-fashioned dictionary standing by. (since with Word, I can never be sure if it's slipped back to the american dictionary.)
mind you, none of the people on here can match one person who was in my psychology class last year. she and one other person were discussing whether there were two different ways to spell a word. -__- this Jenny girl spent half an hour trying to figure out how to use a hole-punch (she was trying to pull it apart 0_0) she asked where the western world was. there were more Jennyisms... but, I can't remember them now. honestly, this girl was so stupid, I have no idea how she managed to get into a college that requires 4 Bs to get in. 0_0

Some of those are shameful.. But knowing me and my forgetfulness when it comes to the spell check it's likely that one of them's mine.
And like you Fennie, I'm always wary of Microsoft Word, and the Proboards spell checker for that matter. Also, I'm glad to see there's someone else who agrees with me on the colour vs color debate x33
And goodness, that sounds worse than me with my math's test today but I won't go into that..

Niiiccce, Fenrie. ^^ And this is exactly what makes the English language the hardest to learn. Well, the homonyms, mostly. Lol, I bet that one came from one of my posts. I'm always confusing the spellings. Spellcheck and Word don't catch those, if they're spelled correctly.

*grin* As sad as it is, some of these are really quite funny. I think I would be annoyed if I were posting with some of these people, but all together with your comments they are amusing.

Fenris posted: " by some of the mistakes i see in some posts, " [glow=yellow,1,200] I believe that none of those mistakes are mine, since I hardly RP on here; I'm usually just skulking around the genral board. It just might be me, but I believe that everyone makes mistakes. Some people just make more than others. Also, some just laugh at the irony of a grammar error, even if it's one in a oh so very long paragraph.

Hey Esteroth, you might want to read the whole post, and not a fragment of a sentence.

That's different than a Typo, a typo is commonly reffered to where you make a mistake of the KEYBOARD, not capitalization. I.E. SorRy wouldn't be a typo, would it? Well in any case it might be. The point is that I have no point. I just want to argue. I am VERY bored.

Nice, Hyde. ^^
