The lands of Deor were still and the creatures and lera seemed to be still within the boundries. It wasn't hot and really really sunny today, just more of Fenris peeking out from behind the clouds every now and then. Cool breezes ruffled the plants and animals fur, and when Fenris managed to get his angry rays to touch the lands, they warmed the grounds around him. Koiji was sat in the forest looking about. She'd picked a nice shady spot and was quite comfortable on the grassy floor of the forest. She was quite conetent to watch the world go by as she lay there, her icy blue hues picking out the movements of nearby plants, and anything else that decided to move. She was a yearling now, and it was time for her to be looking into getting a job within the pack hirachy. She sighed, wondering what would be the best one for her. She would have loved a role as story teller, but unless she could go in as a trainee, the postition was taken. She would have liked to be a scout to, like the silver fae she was proud to call her mother.
She hadn't seen Silve in a while, but she knew it wouldn't be long before she was back. Her adoptive mother was out on a mission to find her night sky. She knew this from things she'd picked up over time. Silve's friend hadn't been seen for a while, and she hoped that when her Mum returned, she would have been sucessful. Her tail, the underside of it stained a grape colour swung gently in the breeze, her relaxed body posture was showing how she felt. She wanted to sleep actually, it was just the right sort of conditions to sleep in. She laughed to herself thinking of how that sounded in her head, and slowly got up to her sooty paws. She stretched, and yawned, before collecting herself together and trotting off gracefully into the realms of Deor.
It was hard for her to believe, but in a couple of months, when Spring came again, this would have been her home for a whole year. Her lithe figure carried her gracefully through the woods, weaving in and out of the trees that she knew well. Her thoughts turned back to how her Mum was, she wasn't headed any where in Deor in paticular, she let her feet lead her where they would. The icy white fae was covering the borderlines of Deor now, she coud smell where their territory ended, and where their land became open. She stopped in a small clearing type thing and sat down. This place would do for a nap. She thought, shuffling down into a lying position. She yawned again, no idea why she was so tired. Koiji was almost unconcious when she heard footsteps nearby, and she sprung up. Who could this be?[/center]

Pale grey clouds guarded the lands of Transylvania from the angry rays of Fenris, although, without the warmth of those very rays, the wind was chill as it played between the leaves of trees. Every now and then a leaf that had turned to fall colors early would finally break free of the bindings that held it fast to a branch. The season of change was coming upon the Lera, and it would not be too long before snow would pelt down thickly to cover the landscape in a blanket that held only cold. Eyes the color of a blue jay's feathers raked the land around the moonbeam that trotted through the hazy, gloomy day. Silve was on the move again, and, for the first time in several moons, she found herself excited to be going somewhere. Her eyes held within them a new sadness, a new depth and experience to them that the normal two or three year old wolf should never have.
The prospect of returning home, once more being surrounded by the ones she had come to love, should have had the scout running with the wind grasping for her silver fur, straight for the borders. Instead she moved with a melancholy trot. She was worried. After her fruitless journey to seek out the wolf that she had hoped would be her mate. She had met him briefly, but there was a distance and a coldness that hadn't been there previously. Silve would almost rather to not find him at all than to see him as she did. Those emerald flecks in his golden eyes had been mostly crimson. She was losing him, and she felt that there was nothing she could do to bring him back to her. The handsome black mann had broken her heart, and he didn't even know it, and so now she tried to pick up the pieces. To make thing worse, she loved her Night Sky more than ever now. The more she love him, the more her heart cracked. A deep hole had torn its way through her heart, growing deeper and deeper the more she wished to see him.
A part of her longed to return to the life of a Kerl, as she had been long ago. She almost had decided not to return to Deor at all. But she had ties there that would only hurt her more to break. She refused to abandon her cub, and her dearest friend. The thought of returning to them was like a chant that returned her waning strength. A gust of wind carried a scent over the trees, and she knew it so well, for it clung to her fur as well. Deor was just over the next rise. There was a clearing there, the edge closest to her being the nearest scent boundary there was, and suddenly her heart flooded with love for the cub she had left three moons earlier. She topped the rise and could see the clearing through the trees, and she began to run for the trees, the clearing just beyond her reach. She leapt a ditch in a single bound and landed heavily, breaking a twig, just before she walked through the boundary as though it where a wall. She could just see the curled white shape laying on the ground on the opposite side of the clearing, and she yelped in excitement. The sorrow wasn't completely hidden in the noise, but the excitement was genuine. "Koiji! Koiji, my daughter! I am home!"

So sorry for the wait Silve <3 And the quality of this post, it's all BLEH x3 [/blockquote] Koiji was almost in the land of Nod when she heard something. The haze that sleep had brought upon her was makingher feel slow, her body wanted her to sleep. She closed her eyes and drifted more and more close to sleep. She was aware of the sounds around her, but not aware of who was making them. The warm breeze calmed her more, and she slipped further into a dream. It was quite like the first time her adoptive mother had met her. Koiji had been dreaming fitfully about her old pack, and how they'd been attacked. She smiled slightly in her sleep; her dreams now were full of peace. The wa most normal wolves' dreams were. The noise of foot falls grew steadily louder, and she began to wake up. The haze of sleep lifting from her like a veil.
Her tassle fliking slowly in the breeze, the young icy fae turned at the sound of a voice. It was a voice she'd longed to hear since the last time it had left the pack boundaries to find her love. She sprung up, the tiredness fading as fast as it had come, and swung round to the way the voice was coming from. "Silve?" Her crystal blue eyes focused in on the Varg stood some paces away from her. "Silve! Oh my Tor! Mum!!" They met halfway, Koiji jumping up excitedly and gently licking her adoptive mothers auds. It had been a while, but it was worth it.
The young Varg had grown since the last time she'd seen her mother. She smiled, the same lop-sided grin that she'd always had. Koiji's ears hadn't failed to take in the slight sound of sorrow in her mother's call, and wanted to ask what was the matter. She decided against it. This was not the time, this was the time for them to celebrate being together again, not to dwell in any disappointment that Silve may have had in her scouting trip. She knew that she was looking for her night sky, and hoped fircely that she'd found him. Koiji was looking forward to meeting him. She grinned and nuzzled Silve, taking in the scent that her nose hadn't seen in a few moons.
"How are you Mum? I've missed you, you know!" She said, the grin upon her maw turning sheepish. She nudged her playfully. "It's great to have you back! We've got lots to catch up on, but before all of that, I want to know that your happy? Did you find your Night Sky?" She knew that if Silve hadn't found the lovly balck Mann, then she'd be treading on thin ice. The last thing she wanted was to make her Mother sad. She nuzzled her again, hoping she hadn't just said the wrong thing. She attempted to backtrack, but was unsure of what exactly she should say to make her previous comment moot. She laughed gently, and looked at her adoptive Mother. "That is, if you want to go first. Or would you want to hear of what's happend to me? It's not that interesting, but um..." She trailed off, looking sheepish. "Are you okay Mum?"

It was difficult not to react to the voice that sent shivers of pleasure down her spine. A voice that called her mother. That alone gave the fae a feeling of purpose, knowing that there was another being out there that depended on her. Silve grinned through her sadness. "My love, my heart, my daughter," she breathed, as one of her favorite scents in the world passed through her nose. Without taking the time to look over the young ivory fae, Silve leapt at her, and gratefully rubbed her neck and shoulder against those of Koiji. A feeling of peace dulled the ache in the silver scout's heart, and for a moment, she was lost in the feeling of reunion. She licked Koiji's ears in the same familiar way she had every day since they had been brought to each other. Slowly she stepped back to better see how her daughter had changed.
Three moons had past, and yet Silve could see that her daughter had grown in more ways than one. It almost made the three year old feel ancient, like the tree that always watch the seasons and creatures pass. She shook the feeling from her limbs, and then laughed, though it was not the laugh she would have given once before. "My dearest little one, look at how you've grown. You are becoming a beautiful young she-wolf, and I can see that it will be soon that I will have to battle with all the great Draggas of the land for your attention, for what male wolf could resist the charms of one such as you." She smiled. "Soon you will be ready to take a position in the pack. One day you must run with me, to see if the joy of patrolling our borders suits your interests." In truth the fae felt guilty for what she must have missed in the months she had been away.
For a moment Silve though on how to answer the simple question that her daughter provided her, until at last she stated simply, "I am well, Koiji. My body still has its strenth. Has the pack been good to you?" More difficult was the second question. For moment she stood, as though caught in a net, and then she sighed. "I tell you this, because I think you are old enough to know it, my daughter. The Night Sky was my first friend, the first wolf I had ever known, back before my memory returned. We once had thought to be mates, but this time when I found him, he was cold and distant. I do not think he wants me the same way, Koiji." There was such anguish in the words that Silve though her heart might break, but she was held in check by that strong, willful presence. The pain of her rejection was numbed by the love of her daughter. "But I will be fine, daughter, because I am home once more. You must tell me of all that has passed since my leavetaking."

I'm really sorry for the wait x3 I hope the posts okay =3 [/i]
Koiji giggled as her Mum licked her ears in the way she used to, she'd missed the feeling, as it had been three long moons ago that she had last felt it. As Silve lavished her affection upon her, she nuzzled her back, taking in a scent that had only been a memory until short moments ago. She sighed, smiling widely and feeling utterly at peace with the land about her. "It's good to have you home, my Silve. My Mum!"[/i] The young she-wolf let Silve step back to look at her, and she saw that her Mother was looking well, on the outside at least. Her doggy grin that was almost always seen on her maw widened, showing toothy grin. She giggled again as Silve commented on how she'd have to fight off Dragga's for her attention. "I highly doubt that, Mum! How could I ever ignore you?" She stepped forward to nuzzle her again, and then took a step back to speak again. "You'll always have me, Mum, no matter what, no Dragga's as nice as you.""
At Silve's next words, a light entered her eyes, and her grin stretched bigger."You'll never guess, I've been accepted as a scout too! Soon we'll be able to go out on patrol togehter!" Her excitement over this fact was making her voice slightly squeaky, as she spoke she giggled, and waited to see what Silve would make of this news. It was after she'd asked the questions about how her little quest had gone, that she wondered if she should have stopped at the news of her becoming a scout. Her Mother answered her, but it didn't seem like her trip had been as successful as it has been hoped to be.
"Deor has been great, I've met a load of the pack members, and I've become firm friends with a lot of them. Mum, I want to thank you for adopting me, I mean, I don't think I've been this happy at all, and seeing that you are home once more, I don't think I'm gonna be coming down from Cloud Nine!"[/i] She said, grinning, but she knew that there was sad news coming, so she smiled and went to nuzzle Silve again. Koiji listened, nodding sadly, but she refused to see her Mother this way. Looking at Silve's sad face, she added to what her Mum had said about how she didn't think that he loved her anymore. "Silve, you must never think that! Of course he loves you!" She stepped forward again, and nuzzled her, gently licking at her neck and face. "It was probably something that had happend to him recently, maybe he wasn't seeming that happy because something bad had happened to him? I wouldn't worry Mum, of course he feels the same, those types of feelings don't just go away, not at all!" As she finished her little speech, she looked at her mother, hoping she'd inspired confidence in her not to give up. Her Night Sky was what she wanted the most, she shouldn't let anything come between that happiness. The young she-varg told her of some of the happenings of recent; like how she'd met Charlos' daughter, Linnaea, how she'd become best friends with Mist's daughter, Delilah, how poor Mist had been involved in some sort of terrible fight with Ayame, the Varg that had chucked her down a mountain not so long ago. She smiled, truly happy for the first time in ages, that that missing puzzle piece had finally fitted back into place.

A great feeling of belonging entered Silve at her daughter's greeting words. How wonderful was the wave of emotion when her daughter had said my Silve. She knew now, at the very least, she belonged to this ivory fae, and that they were linked now and forever with a tie that nothing could break whilst their hearts beat in their chests. Standing tall, the fae shook from her body the weight of travel, and feeling that with it the went at least some of the weight of her grief. Each paw she picked up and checked for cracks, scrapes or scratches, and was pleased to see that they were unblemished. "My Koiji," she said, then repeated, simply looking on, as the cliche goes, the greatest sight for sore eyes. For a moment, the though crossed her of what it meant that she belonged to Koiji, but Koiji also belonged to her, and the thought brought surprise as well as a secret chuckle. It was the first time she had expressed mirth since she had left the company of her true love.
Silve grinned widely at Koiji's answer, and took it in stride. "Of course, you'd better my dear, or the Draggas will find that you've disappeared. I'll drag you into a cave and never let you out," she said, affectionately and licked the ivory wolf's ears again. "The question becomes: Has any of our pack caught your fancy?" She tilted her head, then smiled, this time it reached her eyes. "You do not have to tell me, and perhaps you are too young yet. However, if you come into some "puppy love" as they call it, remember always to warn him that my teeth are only the first he'd feel if he conspires to break your heart. And feel them he will."
At Koiji's next response, Silve very nearly broke out into a great howl of jubilation. "My dear, my dear, how wonderful! A scout!" She looked Koiji over once before finally saying, "A proud duty for a fitting wolf such as you. How I regret not being here to see you grow. When last I saw you, you were but a bud, and now I retrun to see you full flowered. How I would have loved to see the petals spread to catch the light." Overcome, for a moment, she nuzzled her daughter fondly, and even licked at her lower muzzle in a sign of respect. "Run we will, daughter, when the stains of my journey have been washed away," she finally said, looking at Koiji with watery eyes, even though the eye of the wolf was not made to shed tears lightly.
The wolf felt as though she'd been repremanded by her daughter when she had objected to her thoughts on Neithan's perhaps fickle heart. She smiled, however weakly, feeling that perhaps her daughter spoke truth. For a moment she admired the wisdom in her words then nodded. "You are probably right, my dear. I cannot see how a love such as ours can be blown to the wind." For a moment she thought of telling her daughter of how she had met the young mann, when he had gone by the name of Zabarack, and there were flecks of emerald, not crimson, in his bronze eyes. When she is a little older, she decided. Her eyes filled with an acute happiness as she listened to her daughter, feeling now, that to dive back into this life Koiji spoke of would be the greatest balm for her broken heart.

Sorry I disappeared again Silve <33 I'll post as soon as I can after you do this time :3 [/i] Koiji knew that the journey her Mum had been on was a hard one, and by the sounds of things, had not gone to plan. She was just so glad to have her back again, her Mother, and best friend. The young scout's grin didn't falter for anything. In fact, if it was to pour down upon the two, Koiji didn't think she'd care. She was with someone who she shared a deep emotional link with. Nothing in the world could come between these two Varg as they stood in the clearing, tails wagging and eyes sparkling. When her Mum had said 'my Koiji' her tail seemed to miss two gears and speed up so it was now waving in the air like a little propeller. If it wasn't for the fact she wasn't moving, she would have probably have taken off into orbit. She stepped forward once more and nuzzled her Mother. "I'm so glad you're back!"[/i] She giggled as Silve told her that she'd hide her from any Dragga's who came looking for her. She didn't really have that much of a high opinion of herself in that way. She had seen wolves in Deor and other packs that had caught her eye, but she didn't stop to think for one minute that they would actually be interested in her... "I can just see you doing that Mum," She giggled, as she relaxed and enjoyed Silve's affectionate licks. "I won't hold it against you as long as you let the one I like best in the cave now and again!" She joked, licking her Mother back. Silve asked her if anyone from Deor had caught her eye, she blushed and lowered her head slightly, laughing quietly to herself. "Well, there was this one guy..." She started omnisciently, grinning widely at Silve. "But I'm sure you don't want me to bore you with that..." Koiji laughed and shook her head, knowing that Silve probably would want to know. She began to giggle again at her Mother's mention of biting any who broke her heart, and she nudged her softly with her nose before saying ; "Thanks Mum."
If it was possible, the grin that seemed to have taken over the young she-wolf's muzzle grew again. She nodded and nearly let out a chorus of howling song to celebrate, but thought better of it in case the Alpha's misread the call. Nether-the-less, she continued to smile enthusiastically whist she bounced lightly on her paws. "Aw, but I haven't grown that much Mum, I'm still a pip-squeak." She said, pretending to shrink to a smaller size before standing up straight again. She was not the same height as Silve yet, but she was still growing, so there might be a chance that she'd catch the wonderful silver Fae up. "Don't feel bad, Mum. We'll make up for lost time now, and make sure not to be separated for as long again." She knew that they would have to leave each other sometimes, but they'd never be apart for long. They were a team, and there was nothing that was going to get in the way of that. Silve's eyes were filled with tears of happiness, and Koiji felt an obligation to gently lick them away before saying; "And we'll have all sorts of adventures, won't we? But come whatever may, we'll still have each other and that's all that really matters."
She smiled as she saw her Mother's face light up. She knew that the love they felt for each other just couldn't be lost to the winds; it was too powerful for that. It was something that would take more than a long time away from each other to destroy. "That's the spirit Mum!" She said enthusiastically. "You and him were meant to be, something that powerful won't just go away. Have faith, and don't give up" The younger scout thought her words sounded very grown up as she said them, smiling up at her adoptive Mother.

At her daughter's next exclamation, Silve bumped her shoulder against Koiji's, instead of going off on another arguement over who missed who more. There was no doubt in her mind that she would win. She rolled her shoulders and stretched, giving the semblance of having come home to a peaceful rest after a tortuous journey, for, in fact, she did feel that way to a point. There was no better emotion in the world than the one felt at homecoming. She looked adoringly at Koiji, enjoying the sensations of being with her family again. A part of her family, anyway, as her packsister Mist had yet to be seen. But even that was little more than a spot on the back of her mind, and she settled herself in to really enjoy herself.
Like the jingle of small human bells, the silver fae's laughter rang sharply through the clearing at Koiji's reply to her mocking threat. She held her head higher and winked. "Oh, sure, we'll let him in. But only with parental supervision, my dear, which is to say my supervision. I have the eyes of a hawk, and he'll get away with nothing while I'm around." She kept that pretense up for several moments before bringing her muzzle back to its normal level then ammended, "'Til I know he's one of those rare good ones, at least." She smiled as a pleasent wind stroked across the landscape, leaving a wonderful sensation behind. But suddenly her manner turned a tad bit more sharp. "Now, daughter, you cannot leave me there! I swear I will not be bored, look at how awake I am! Come now, be reasonable. Tell me who." She looked quite eager for a reply, her blue orbs twinkling as she gazed upon the ivory fae.
Now here the talk made Silve feel almost old, though she was only on the brink of four years old. Imagine, being that young, and knowing that your daughter was growing before your very eyes. She smiled and nuzzled the other fae, and licked her ears as she had done many times before. "No, I will not leave here again while you are still growing. While you are still my daughter, I will always be there for you, if not in body, then in spirit, my daughter." She was quite serious in saying so, and knew, beyond all doubt, that for this white fae, she would give her life to protect. She grinned broadly and wagged her tail jauntily, happy to hear that Koiji was in agreement.
Silve was surprised to hear the ring of truth, sincerity and wisdom in her daughter's tone, and it was then that she realized that she had underestimated her daughter's capacity for maturity. The decision was made quickly, and she grinned and spoke. "Let me tell you of my romance with Neithan," she offered, now filled with hope that her Night Sky would one day be hers again. She grinned broadly and began. "Did I ever tell you of my past? A bear attacked my pack's camp when I was young, and, in passing, my mother accidently knocked me down a hill and into the river. I was struck by a rock in the rapids, and lost all memory of it for quite some time. For moons I wandered the hills, daughter, calling to Tor to rescue me from my loneliness. And one night, Zabarack answered."

Koiij playfully bumped Silve back, knowing that if they were to argue randomly about who missed whom more, Silve would - paws down - win. The ivory Fae grinned as her Mother's laughter rippled through the open space they found themselves in. She knew that Silve was joking, but couldn't help wondering what would happen if she was serious. Not that she'd mind hiding out with her Mum, she knew that neither of them would tire of it, ever. The thought of Silve standing guard outside some random cave still made the yearling giggle. It just sounded... So Silve! "I'll have to warn him to be on his best behaviour then, won't I?" She teased, bumping her shoulder against hers once more.
There was a moment of companionable silence where the pair sat looking fondly around their home, but it wasn't long before they started talking again. Koiji giggled as Silve exclaimed how terrible it would be to leave her hanging on this crucial piece of information. She contained the giggles and let out a little sigh, wondering how to go about saying it. "Well, he's in Deor, and he's a friend's son..." She started, grinning cheekily up at her Mother. The young wolf giggled again as Silve's eyes twinkled, just waiting for a response. "I'm pretty sure you know him, if not know of him..." Koiji continued, wanting to see if Silve could guess first.
Koiji grinned widely as her Mum licked her ears, as she used to do so often in her cub-hood. She'd missed how that felt, and had almost forgotten the relaxed state that it put her in. When Silve's musical voice spoke again, the young Fae looked up, the grin turning more serious, although it was a grin all the same. She nodded and said ; "That means the world to me, Mum. And while we're on the topic of never leaving, let me say that I'm never gonna leave you, not for anything. In fact..." She said, a mischievous sparkle to her blue hues. "I may just guard you in a cave to keep you safe from all those Dragga's out there!" She licked Silve's neck affectionately, before pulling away slightly and grinning up at her.
The ivory Fae's ear shot forward at the prospect of a story. She may have been considered an adult by some now, but she still loved stories. And plus, Silve's tales always had her staring in awe and wonderment. She didn't know why, but they just seemed to mesmerize her. That was something else that she'd missed in her Mother's absence ; her stories. And the best thing was, it was going to be about Silve and Zabarack. And although she hadn't met him, she knew they'd be the cutest pair imaginable. But, if he was ever to hurt her Mother in anyway, there was no doubt in the Fae's mind that he'd pay for it. "Oh, Mum, that'd be great!!"[/i] She exclaimed, mimicking her Mother's broad grin. She listened, and as she did so, she seemed to be under a spell... [/blockquote]
