She was as scarcely seen as her father, probably an inherited trait, but there was Linnaea, sitting alone as she often did. Without the interaction of her pack mates she often would feel alienated here. She was seven months old now, getting to be an adult. She could essentially fend for herself. She could leave the pack if she wanted, it wasn’t as if she was truly attached to anyone here. But then she thought of the few good memories from being a pup. The first time she’d explored the Deor dens, the first time she met everyone. The first time she left the den, and then the first time she wandered out of the pack lands - not too far though. She never went too far. Too afraid to go out and become a Kerl. Too afraid to be truly alone.
Linnaea had grown tall, she was about the same size her mother was. Slender legs and a thick pelt that was marked with evidence of bother mother and father. She was sad to never truly know her mother, only the whispers of her voice occasionally in dreams. She was sad that her father was so often away, never having time to play with her or to care for her. He’d often left her in the care of Mist when she was older, Mist was nice though. Linn liked her. She was a good surrogate mother, having already had the knowledge from her own cubs. However she just didn’t fit in with that group. It’s like this place wasn’t really her family; sure they accepted her, didn’t they have to? She was the heir after all, if things went according to how they sometimes did in the wild, perhaps she would challenge Mist. No, being a Drappa for her wasn’t what she had in mind. Linnaea wanted freedom, she wanted love, a family of her own. Maybe a mate, maybe not. Mostly she wanted friends. Lots of other Varg that she might go to when she was lonely, like now.
Her milky brown eyes stared up at the clear starry sky. Fall would be coming soon, the drought would be over and Chalos would come back from Ge-Rad. Hopefully anyway. She gave a hefty sigh, wondering if someone might come if she called. Maybe she could find a friend in the pack that she just didn’t belong in… maybe she would leave. She was old enough to… It was just about that time…
Slowly her muzzle raised to the heavens, and her lips parted. A sorrowful and longing note hit the air, a strong how unlike what she used to possess as a pup broke the nightingale’s song and hovered across the Deor territory. The note seemed to last forever as it spread out across the landscape, slipping through the trunks of trees and sliding over the grassy opening of the clearing. Silently she prayed to Tor, who’s eye was full in the sky, that someone would come and greet her. If even for a little while…

It was quite a pretty night, all things considered. Tor was rising in the skies; her beams stroking the treetops of the land, and cool breezes flowing through the air. Normally at this time, the autumn was settting in, and the first snows of the year would be about. It wasn't cold today, not really. It was one of those times that you could feel truly happy with the land you lived in, and that you weren't bothered or agitated by anything. Through the trees of the Deorian forests, a figure moved, not running or anything like that, Koiji was wandering the lands, like she often liked to, and was enjoying the cool night. Her easy going pace allowed her to take in the scenery, not that there was that much about. Her icy blue orbs glittered in the twilight, and her tail, streaked with grape on the underside, swung freely.
The fae's icy white coat was what gave her away in the forests, in the coming darkness, her fur showed up quite well. Her sooty paws on the other hand, not so much. There was no place in paticualr that she was headed, she was just happy to wander tonight. As Tor rose higher from the purple streaked horizon, she sighed. Weather it was because she was just out of her pup hood, or wheather it was something else, she wanted someone to share this with. She had lots of friends and such, she was quite a social being, but no one that was completely special to her.
A sorrowful cry hit her black lined auds, and she stopped, it wasn't a howl she'd heard before, but there were a few members of the pack that she still hadn't met, even though it would be a year she'd been with them come next spring. Her head cocked to one side, and her brain attempted to figure out wheather this was a safe varg or lonely one. Judging by the tone, they weren't going to be a threat. She moved off from her standstill, trotting now, her sooty socks padding along the thick ferns and dying leaves that lined the forest floor. She stopped when she thought she was nearing the varg who'd emmited the call, and let her own howling song rise up and out of her lips. It rang out, clear and wild over her surroundings, and her icy blue eyes flickered about. She wondered who'd be about in the forests now. But that'd be a good question to ask herself. She liked to wander though, it was something like a hobby to her. Her past was one of sorrow, and the habbit of wandering about had come to her when she was young.
Walking forwards; a carefull tread now, she spotted who must have called out. She was alone, and judging by the vibes in the air, she was sad too. The fae was not one that Koiji had seen, or met for that matter, but her bubbly persona was something that got the better of her at times. She walked over to the figure and paused a few feet away. She knew the other varg would be aware of her presnece now, so she took the last few paces foward stood near by. She smiled friendly, and spoke after a few seconds. "I don't think we've met before, I'm Koiji. Are you a Deorian? I don't think I've ever seen you about." She trailed off, knowing that she was probably babbling. Her smile turned to an appolegetic one. She waited for the other to introduce herself, wondering who she was, and hoping that they might be able to be friends.

//I've returned from my absence.// Little Linn sighed, it was a hefty sound that blew strongly from her young lungs. Her black-tipped audits drooped sadly as she frowned, her call had faded and there was yet no response. She was beginning to lose hope of any company. Sadly she raised her hindquarters up off the ground and turned to begin to pad toward the dens, however something caught her attention…
It was a call from nearby, her velveteen ears pricked forward and she stood erect, listening as the sound bounced off the trees that surrounded her. Then a figure appeared, white and in high contrast to the dark surroundings. Linnaea would’ve blended in well, her pelt claimed by mostly dark browns and black, however there was cream on her face and paws, and overo white on her belly and rump leading down most of her thick, bushy plume. Black nares twitched, sampling the flavourful scent of Deor from the fae approaching. Milky brown eyes watched carefully as it came close enough to be deemed uncomfortable and Linn took a stance not unlike Chalos upon meeting new Varg.
She stood erect, straight backed and in a dominant position. Being an alpha’s pup meant that she picked up alpha tendencies - even though she was sure that she’d be a horrible leader. “I’m Linnaea, daughter of Chalos and the late Lucivar. I was born here…” As if it should’ve been so obvious. Anyone that knew Chalos or Lucivar should automatically be able to tell their daughter. She was essentially Lucivar with Chalos’ overo patterns - with a little more to them anyway. She frowned, Koiji was larger than her, older probably. She probably wouldn’t want to hand around with a seven-month-old cub with wanderlust. “Nice to meet you Koiji.”

I'm soooo sorry for the wait, I've had a little bit of mayhem going on in RL as of late >_<
The icy fae noticed that the smaller fae in front of her had some markings that looked strangly familiar... It didn't take Koiji too long to figure out that the overo pattern upon the Linnaea's rump was similar to the pattern that Chalos sported upon his. She wondered for a moment about if that was any connection. Seeing as she had joined Deor only in the spring, she had never got to meet Lucivar, but she had heard great things of the late Drappa. Her tassle swung freely, the grape underside blending with the light of twilight. Her crystal hues also picked up that the cub stood in a authortive way; like how the Alphas do.
Koiji lowered her head and nodded. Her black lined auds pricked at the responce of the younger Varg. She hadn't been too far off then... Linnaea was the daughter of Chalos. She smiled politely and lowered her head in respect. "Linnaea? It's a pleasure to meet you at last, I have heard a little about you from some of the other Deorian cubs." The smile changed to a friendly grin, as Linnaea returned the comment. "I never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, but I have heard great things of her. You must miss her?" She asked sympathetically. She knew what it was to lose something, and wondered how the other Varg had dealt with it. Koiji liked meeting new prospective friends, and hoped that Lin wouldn't mind being seen with her. She was only a few months older than her at least... She'd just gone 12 months. Koiji frowned trying to figure out how old Linnaea would be.
"I lost my family too. It's been almost a year now, but I was lucky enough to come across my adoptive mother Silve not too long ago. She helped me think a lot more positivly about what was going on in my life. I probably sound like a sob-story, I'm sorry if I do! I'm happy now though. You know, I'll just shut up. I have a tendancy to babble!" Her tone changed from formal to it's normal, fun loving tone. She smiled as she asked her next question. "You okay? You seem a little confused." She asked, taking Lin's frown into account. She took a step forward and droped to her haunches. She smiled from her new vantage point, a tad more comfortable than standing. The she-wolf's facial expressions invited the other fae to do the same. She smiled warmly, her bubbly personality taking over.

“I didn’t lose all my family. I still have Papa… And Mist has been more than just a mother to me. Though I do still remember Mama. She had a kind voice and was very pretty. I do wish she was still here, but I guess it was her time.” Linn was indignant about the first part. She did still have her father. It was sad that Koiji had lost her family, but she had gained an adoptive parent. Little Linn just had her father, and Mist on most occasions. Not that she really knew anyone other than Chalos. She choose to stay quiet most of the time, she was friendly sure, but it just seemed hard to make friends in this sort of surrounding. She felt so out of place here in her own home. Silently she pondered for a few moment until Koiji rearranged herself.
Linnaea followed suit. Lowering her hind end, then her front until she was laying neatly on the ground, her paws crossed in front of her and her posture still upright and proper. It was simply a bad habit that she’d formed by mimicking her father.
“Hmm? No, I’m fine. Just thinking. You know, of leaving Deor. I don’t really fit in with you guys - ask any of the cubs. I’m not that social.” And she really wasn’t. Conversations were rare for her, not many took notice of the quiet alpha’s daughter. Sometimes she would catch whispers from the older members about how tragic her mother’s death had been. But no details spared. Just that Luciver had come about a horrid death. Chalos didn’t tell her much. He also told her that her brother had died similarly. Poor Arous. She missed him. Linn was sure that if he were here she wouldn’t feel so isolated and alone. And yet, she kind of liked the idea. “I met a very nice Kerl, and he offered to take me in. I’m old enough to be on my own now, so I thought I would go to him for a while until I’m used to living without a pack. Then I would be off on my own. Maybe I’ll make my own pack, maybe I’ll find a mate out there. But well, you know how it goes when you grow up. Sometimes you just want to leave the den!” Linnaea was suddenly as talkative as Koiji had been, but she was excited about the thought of living with Kop - her new best friend. She tended to ramble about things that she was excited about.

My activitys gone down the drain as of late x3 I'm really sorry for the wait, and I hope this post isn't as much as a crxpfest as it looks x3
Koiji nodded sadly upon hearing Lin's story, it was sad that she had lost her mother, and that she was seemingly seculuded from the rest of the pack. Koiji knew what it was like to feel like an outsider, and told Linnaea something that she had heard herself a while back. "It sounds like your Mother was a wonderful Varg, I really wish I could have met her... You shouldn't have to feel that you're alone though, Linnaea, you've got a family who loves you." She hoped that her advice, though not really that great, would help her, she didn't like to see wolves feel that they shouldn't be where they liked, it was their home as much as anyone else's and nothing should stop them from feeling happy in it.
Lin followed her lead in sitting, and the spoke of how she was thinking of leaving Deor because she didn't think she fitted in. Koiji's heart went out to her, the young she-varg didn't want her to feel that way, she started to wonder if she offered Lin her friendship would it help? Koiji nodded again, and spoke softly to the younger varg. "I can see where you're coming from, though it'd be a shame if you left, I'd sure miss you." She thought her next few words through carefully before saying them, she didn't want them to sound corny or anything like that. "I don't suppose you'd like to be friends, I mean, I know we've only just met, but I really don't want to see you leave, when you could be happy here. It's your choice at the end of the day, If you want to leave, then that's okay too, but I would hope that we'd be able to call each other friends when you decide." Koiji wondered if it sounded as good as it had in her head, and then got paranoid in case she'd just freaked Linnaea out. She smiled sheepishly once more, looking at Lin, and then glancing back at her paws.
She waited to hear what Lin thought of her little speech, and she noticed that she'd had become quite chatty in telling her about what she planned to do once she left. That was a good thing, she may have been shy, but at least she was talking to her. Koiji looked back up at her, and smiled once more, the sheepish look coming off her face as she waited for a responce. She knew that she had no way that she could affect Lin's choice in the end, but she didn't want her to feel like she didn't have any friends, she'd rather that she knew she had her as well as this Kerl she'd met. "Do you think that'd you'd like living as a kerl? It's not that bad, but you do end up feeling alone and sad for a while. I thought I was one, as I might have mentioned before, but I'm glad I've found a home in Deor." She smiled gently, wondering what the young she-varg in front of her was thinking now.

She smiled. “Yeah, mum was amazing. I didn’t know her for very long, but I did know her. I can remember her soft voice, telling me stories with my brother.” No one would know about her brother - save for her and Chalos. Of course he was dead as well. Torn apart in contempt for looking so much like the crazed Varg who’d murdered Lucivar. “You know… our family doesn’t know me very well…” Linn offered - that’s right, Koiji was included. Linnaea didn’t know her well, but any Varg of Deor was a sister, a brother, an aunt or uncle. Didn’t matter their blood, or who, they were a family pack. But little Linn, she was alienated here. Ignored or pitied most of the time. “I mean, I’m glad that you’re my friend too now. That makes me happy, and I will certainly come back and visit my family, sister. But I feel like I need to be like our Helpers. Spread my wings you know. Fly a little.”
Her muzzle was directed at the sky, and the smile still on her face. Her milky brown eyes shimmered as she gazed heavenward. The fae’s comment hadn’t freaked her out - though it seemed to be a little… how should you say… like a guilt trip. Linnaea knew this wasn’t Koiji’s intent - or at least it probably wasn’t her intent. “I’m sure I will miss you too when I leave. But my mind’s been made up for a while now. You know how my dad is, he often wanders off. So, I guess I inherited his wanderlust. I don’t mind if Deor is sad for my loss, they seem better with Mist as Drappa - course I never saw my mum lead. Everyone just seems pretty happy.” It wasn’t that she resented such things. She was glad that the pack was doing well. But they seemed so devoid of sorrow… they simply held pity.
“I’m pretty used to feeling alone and sad. And though I don’t like it I hope to make some Kerl friends while I’m away. Maybe I’ll join a different pack, maybe one that’ll be more welcoming where I can make lots of friends as opposed to a few.” She pondered the thought, Kop had mentioned Ge-Rad. “I mean, I’m glad that you found a home here, but I just don’t exactly fit in. I don’t think dad does either - not very well at least. I mean I love everyone. Just don’t mesh well with them. You know?”
