The young pale grey fae trembled as she entered the Vale, walking slowly past the River. She was trembling in fright, and at the slightest sound she would jump about a metre into the air.
She cautiously scented the air, and shivered as she scented dead crows. She quickly hurried towards two beech trees, and she turned her face away, horrified at the sight.
She faced the ground and carefully padded past the two beech trees, and gave a sigh of relief as she raised her head. The sigh died in her mouth as she was plunged into darkness. She was surrounded by a thick forest.
Snowflame warily followed the path, occasionally hearing an eerie noise, which made her speed up and trip.
She gave out a stream of curses, then almost at once regretted it. What if something heard her? She trembled furiously, and licked her sore paw.
Snowflame's banner lowered as she rushed forwards down the darkened path, until she came across a clearing, surrounded by a dense forest. Snowflame whimpered in fright as she skirted the edge of the clearing.
She edged towards the cliff at the north side of the clearing, and crept forwards towards a cave etched in the mountainside.
The young faemme trotted towards the entrance, and cautiously stepped in. She heard a crack and looked down to see a bone under her paw. She looked around, her heart pounding, and noticed that the cave was littered with bones.
She looked around and saw a platform at the back of the cave, and a pool below the plateau reflected the light coming from a hole in the cave roof. She came to the edge of the pool and looked into it. It looked very deep.
Snowflame glanced around, and said in her bravest voice, " Hello, my name is Snowflame. I come to seek an answer to my question..."
