Personally I think abortion is wrong but it is in the womens body she should get to do what she wants but that doesn't mean i have to like it. I really dont like partial aborations though. I mean it it is a result of incest or if it is rape, again my opionon, i think it should have a chance to live. Just because it is from rape doesn't mean it shouldn't get a chance at life. Though the woman might not want it and adoptions centers are full it is good. And also if the woman was not healthy then she should or if she doesnt have enough money for the kid then yes i dont mind as much but if it is a healthy child and a healthy mother then why kill another life?

To be honest, unless you're put in the position to where you have to choose, your opinion doesn't matter in the sense that you really have no clue. If you decided that you wanted to sleep with your fiance or boyfriend or husband, and you were safe about it but something happened and you got pregnant anyway, you might choose to abort it. What if you're seventeen and are still a kid yourself? What if you're poor? Would you like that child to live a poverty-stricken life? What if you're married, but your career comes first? Sure, you should receive the consequences of your actions, but people shirk responsibilities all the time.
People will often say that "life begins at conception". If that's true, then everyone needs to figure out exactly how many days you were in your mom's uterus and add that to your current age to make that saying accurate. Others will say that adoption is always there, but only a very small fraction of the already adoption-ready children will get homes every year.
I don't know, ; I'm 100% pro-choice. :/ Don't bite my head off, please.

I won't dont worry! ^_^
Again everyone is different and if a mother is put in that position then i am pro. I'm on the half and half line. 50% anti and 50% pro. It all really depends on her situation to me.i am anit when someone (like my cousin) tries to get a kid then when she experiences the mood swings and everything she decides to get it aborted because she couldn't take it anymore. My half sister was 15 when she got pregnet and now has 4 kids and is 22. She was considering to abort it but decided not to.

It also depends on how your parents raised you. My parents raised me to be anti abortion adn now i'm half and half but that might change in time to one of the sides. It also depends sort of on what religion you are. If your Christian (like me ^_^) then you might be anti. Again some of my friends are for it and against it.

I am personally pro-life. But it depends on the circumstances. If the child is gonna be severely retarded and not live any sort of life and not live past a certain age that's one thing, then yes by all means, have it aborted. But I am Christian and DO NOT believe in abortion just because someone is being careless. It makes me sick.
Either way, the Government needs to stay out of it, it's the woman's choice, not theirs.

okay, uh, i think that its a personal choice. its completely against what i believe and the whole right to life thing, but i also understand that sometimes a child just cant be cared for properly at the time. so, while i would almost never consider it(im not saying i wont, cause i have no idea what circumstances my stupid butt will get my self into) im not gonna jump down someones throat if they say they're gonna get one. its all a personal choice. it should not be made illegal, but before a woman can get one she should be given something, i dunno were im going with this, to make sure thats what she really wants, cause my best friend got pregnant, got an abortion, and found out too late that she wanted it, and went completely suicidal. and now i have no idea what i was gonna say... but you should really think about it. it shouldn't be some random last minute decision.

The subject being debated can quickly be turned into an argument.
This is just a warning for you lot to all play nice. As far as abortion goes, some people are really, REALLY serious and sensitive about their opinion, so if this thread starts going too far, it will be locked and possibly deleted. We don't need any silly internet fights breaking out.

Yeah, when I saw this topic, I got a little scared as well. I don't even get why abortion has made such a frontline in politics, myself. I think that it's an important tool that should be utilized in times of need.
It is, by no means, birth control, of course, but I highly doubt women run around having unprotected sex and then spending hundreds of dollars on aborting if they conceive; and when I realized that, I realized that, in my eyes, it shouldn't be so confrontational.
I used to work at Planned Parenthood as a peer educator, so I've been forced to think about these kinds of things a lot, and face a lot of women who have had a pregnancy scare. And, let me assure you, every single one of them is unimaginably distraught and guilt-ridden, and that every single one was a complete accident.
For example, one couple had sex one night while the woman had been on birth control for months without missing a pill. However, they had had sex on the last night of her pack, which means that they had to go pick up her next prescription to take her next pill that night. And, when they got to the pharmacy, it had closed early! No one saw that coming, and that certainly doesn't make the women irresponsible. I just don't see why the government and today's politics have to be so harsh and make these women feel all the more terrible than they already do.
Personally, I think it's a terrible thing someone would have to go through, and though it makes people feel it, it's morally wrong. I'd rather have a women abort an undeveloped fetus rather than shuffle a new child off into some barely-legal adoption centre or to be raised in poverty and depression. Pro-choice 100%

Well it comes to the fact, specily at this day and age... Well not to be a bad mouth but, What if you got raped? and im obviously saying this to the girls not guys. But you know what I mena, would you really want a child of someone you dont know, I know its taking a life, but If you are 14, you got raped and you are prego, how are you going to make it through high school!? There really isnt anything wrong with it, and its a freedom of choice. If you dont like it, dont do it.
