Darkness fell over the young pale grey cub as she was hit by another falling branch. The tree branches were weighed down with heavy, frozen snow and they seemed to break like bread sticks.
When the young cub awoke, her head was bleeding slightly where the whip like branches of the tree had hit her. Snowflame growled at her own stupidity for resting under the snow laden tree. She had gotten seperated from her brother while they had been searching for a pack to take them in to care for them. Their parent's had been killed many suns ago.
Casting away from that painful memory, Snowflame searched the twigs and branches of leaf less bushes for any sort of food. She sighed in frustration and noticed a meadow, not far from her. She rushed through the trees and bushes and gave a howl of delight as she entered the meadow, blanketed in a carpet of virgin snow.
Snowflame, as her name suggests, loves the beauty and fun of the cold, glistening snow. She rolled around in it, making odd looking shapes in the snow. Snowflame started to get cold, and as a snow shower started, she was desperately cold and hungry. She snarled at herself again for her own stupidity of wasting so much energy.
Finally she returned to the shelter of the deadly trees, where she soon sniffed out the carcass of a Herla, left by some other wolves. She gnawed greedily at the marrow in the bones, and ate the little meat that remained. Birds eyed the young Varg wearily, and Snowflame realised how desperately lonely she was.
Suddenly, as if nothing else bad could happen to her, a tremendous bellow from not far away echoed through her sharp ears, making her almost deaf. She shrunk back as she recognised that sound for a bear.
Snowflame panicked and tried to take as much food as she could. She was just about to flee when the bear came crashing into the small clearing she was in, and she whimpered, completely helpless to the ferocious beast of the forest.
Snowflame did the only thing she could think of, she howled for help. She raised her small muzzle into the air and howled as loudly as she could. That made the bear angrier. It came straight towards her. She knew that it was the end...

Semmorra was walking through the glistening snow, making trails with her snout, when she scented a fea, nearby. Curiousity grabbed Semmorra with its fiery tendons, forcing her to scent out the varg. As she followed the trails within the meadow, she saw tracks that led hurriedly into the trees. Fear gripped Semmorra, she knew where those tracks led, and sure enough, she heard the roar of the bear, as well as the pitiful howl of the fae. Semmorra raced forward, her tail high behind her, running as fast as her paws would take her. As she dashed through the brambles, the thorns cut through her auburn fur and scratched at her skin. The thin tree branches swiped at her eyes, stinging and blinding them. Semmorra burst through the opening that had lead into the bear's domain. Semmorra skidded on the icy snow, trying to maintain a grip on the slippery slush. Sliding quickly forward, faster than the bear advanced, she slammed into the young fae, who seemed to be frozen in fear. Semmorra pushed her out of the way and growled at her to run for it, as she herself began to flee. The looming bear was almost upon them now, as he swiped with his massive paws, clipping Semmorra on her ear. Pain lanced through her head, as she was sent flying forward into the snow, blood already leaking into her nostrils. Filling her with the heady scent of her own blood.
Pain as well as the instinct to live, drew Semmorra as she hobbled up the embankment, with the giant roaring his displeasure, seeming to want blood. Semmorra fled even faster, her eyes blind with pain, but driven by the instinct to survive. Now she didnt even notice when the trees whipped at her.
As she ran, only stopped until she knew she was safe, the bear far behind. Semmorra collapsed and let exhaustion and pain enfold her in its mighty jowls of slumber. At least i saved the varg...she thought sleepily before she faded away to dream.

Snowflame was suddenly pushed away from the mighty bear and landed head first into a pile of frozen snow. She heard the Varg cub growl at her to flee, and rushed after her saviour.
Snowflame's heart was pounding, fit to burst. She followed the she-cub as quickly as she could. Her head was buzzing with the events of the day. She started suddenly as she tripped on the sleeping Varg. Snowflame noticed that she had been wounded on her ear.
" I hope she's alright." she whispered to herself, feeling like she was in a dream. Her head was spinning. Snowflame nestled next to her rescuer and licked her wound gently, being careful not to try and wake her, for she herself hated being waked while resting.
Snowflame's curiousity for the varg grew and grew, but forced herself not to try and wake her. She turned her attention to a beautiful small bird, watching the wolves wearily from a tree branch. Snowflame grinned at it, and the bird shifted nervously.
" Don't be afraid! I cannot harm you when you are that high!" insisted the young cub, not realising that if another varg saw her speaking to a bird, they would think it odd.
The bird flew off and Snowflame howled quietly, sad that the bird was gone. She got up and began to wonder around, carefully scenting for any sign of a bear.
Suddenly there was a sound nearby that sounded like wolves. Snowflame's instints deserted her, and she howled, not thinking of the danger.
There was a pause...then an almighty howl. Snowflame shrunk back. These wolves were evil!

Fellack barked a laugh that echoed off the trees. The frozen trees shimmered with a dazzling light that sent skewed visions flashing into his head, into his thoughts, memories, and deepest pains. Or maybe it was the claws that slashed his muzzle and sent blood spraying out in all directions. The snow around him was red. Fellack didn't know how he got here. He remembered looking for food, finding none, the defeat in his eyes resting down at a small wintry enclave to the north of here. Then he remembered waking up to the sound of Varg, hostile Varg, and now he was here: Being interrogated in the snow. As the claws of the hostiles swung in once more, Fellack saw his end here, with a flash he saw himself soon, frozen corpse of a black varg, muzzle torn open, frozen blood stained his long-dead muzzle. He would die here. He knew it. So he readied for his death as the paw rose... And jolted at a deafening sound that shattered the eerie silence of the frozen forest. A bear. Here. Great. Fellack thought to himself. Fenris has delayed my death of maiming to be eaten by a bear. He sarcastically thanked his god. The hostiles turned. They needed to run for their lives, or hunt the bear. But it would be too dangerous to leave Fellack behind to escape. They quickly solved the dilemma by knocking him unconscious against the frozen bed of snow.

The young cub whimpered and, not thinking of the injured she-cub, rushed away, her tail in between her legs in fright. Her panic stricken eyes scanned the forest, her legs growing all the more tired as she ploughed through the drifts of cold, wet snow. Her breathing became laboured and her head was drooped. Suddenly she spotted an unconscious black mann, surrounded by what looked like blood.
Snowflame whimpered and blinked in sadness. This poor Varg had been mortally wounded, but she could help him. Snowflame warily padded over to him, and nudged him gently with her maw. She licked his ears and growled in his ear, and nipped his tail, and did all she could to try and wake him up. She examined his wounds and licked them, tasting his strong, sweet blood, and shuddering at it. A vile, repulsed look crept onto her face, and she stepped away from the male and let out an ear-splitting howl.

Swirls of red, black, white, blood. His own against the bed of snow. A white Fae, an aura of hope, something in his ear. And an ear-splitting howl. Fellack jolted from his sleep. It hurt to open his eyes; a blazing light slashed through the darkness of sleep. Fellack raised his head against the pain and saw a Fae in front of him, the color of the snow, the color of life. "How.. who.. where are they? How did you come.." It hurt to speak, his throat dry but scarred with blood, his head a swirling mass of pain. All he could do was look up in wonder to his savior.

Instantly after hearing his voice, Snowflame turned to face him with a concerned smile. She padded closer to him, her eyes locking gazes with his own, and she looked down slightly as she studied his wounds. She was no healer, but she could tell he was in need of a place to recover.
" Hush, now. You must conserve your strength. I heard some wolves, and long story short, found you. Are you strong enough to walk so that we can look for some shelter?" she licked his forehead and backed away, scenting the air. A snowflake landed on her nose, making her sneeze. She blushed and stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
" By the way, my name is Snowflame." she added simply.

The young varg walked through the snow. The snow and ice made it look like a winter wonderland, but she did not underestimate the danger. She padded over the cold snow, ocassionally sticking her noes in the snow then quickley pulling it out from it being so cold. The snow began to lightly fall over her thick winter coat. The heard some wolves talking and padded over hoping to find something, just anything for she was bored. What she found she did not like at all. Fellack lie there on the ground as blood swelled over his body staining the pure snow. 'FELLACK!' she yelled from seeing him there. She ran over to him hoping he was not yet dead. She pay no attention to the white wolf beside him, for she loved fellack like a brother and cared for him dearly. "Dear Fellack, what has happened" she said quietly looking at his wounds, just grateful he was alive. She licked the worst of the wounds and nuzzled her head on his shoulder.
She finally began to see the other wolf standing there. She was young with a white fur coat. She did not now who the stanger was but she quickly switched her brain into action to protect fellack. She flattened her ears against her skull and threw out a startling and threatening snarl that shook the trees, Her long sharp fangs bared she growled and snarled standing in front of fellack. "Don't take one step!" she snarled. She would never kill or hurt another wolf but she would not let anyone hurt fellack. She continued standing there making much noise, her muscles bulged under her skin then they tightened ready for anything that happened. She did not take her eyes off the stranger but asked Fellack, If you can make it, there is a den I have been staying in that is warm. She took a jump to make the stranger back off a little so they could leave, fangs snapping at her but not touching her.

Fellack faded back into consciousness to see Shadow towering above him, snarling at the visitor who had awoken him. "Wait! Shadow!" Fellack growled. Though it was a relief to see a familiar face, especially her's, for Shadow was one of his closest friends, but he could not let any of the two Varg above him be put in danger. "This Varg is a friend. She saved me." Fellack began to rise from what he thought would be his icy tomb, but his muscles burned with a fire so hot it seared straight to his brain. Shadow's image wavered in and out. He lifted his muzzle towards her, but growled as it crashed against the hard ice. He was unconscious once more.

Snowflame stared in confusion at the stranger, and backed away as she growled at her. Sadness and lonliness overcame her, and she miserably lay on the ground like an outcast. Her ivory pelt blended in with the snow, and she closed her eyes, making her look like a mound of snow. Suddenly, the voice of the male came out, and she breathed a secret sigh of relief.
Cautiously, she rose to her paws and whispered, " I mean no harm, fae. I was only trying to help. . . please forgive me for intruding," she whimpered and lay back down onto the ground, and howled quietly to herself. Why was she always the leper of the group? Always being an outcast when all she tries to do is help?
Snowflame's eyes glared sullenly at the sky, then closed them as a snowflake landed in one. She winced in pain and curled up, watching the two of them. The male was unconscious now, and Snowflame felt useless to the world. Her mind turned back to the female cub she had met earlier, but she had probably left by now.
The fae sniffed and let out a blood curdling howl, not caring who or what heard it. She closed her eyes as her song faded, and contemplated her thoughts.

Fellack was starting to feel better as he rejuvenated from his icy sleep. With the strength in his injured legs, paws searing with scarred fire, he slowly rose high enough to sit on his feet. Fellack looked closely at Snowflame. She was a beautiful coat of white, and a cold, yet friendly ice of blue flashing in her eyes. Fellack realized after a few moments that he was gazing at her, and looked away embarrassed as he realize how much of a fool he must have looked. "Thank you very much, uhmm..." Fellack looked away helplessly- he didn't even know the fae's name. Must have something to do with snow... Truth was- he had no clue. By Fenris, it could have been Dreary or something. (Monty Python tag) All he knew was that he owed her his life, and for that he was grateful. OOC: Obviously this is in the past. Nudge Nudge Wink Wink.
