ok, my sisters say my "personality" has changed because the words i use when i speak. i happen to be one of those "observer" people, and i am very good at it. so i think it reasons to stand that the words you use when speaking are a mannerism, which can change over time, but still yes they are a part of you yet they dont "define" you. what do you guys think? this would save me a lot of arguing.

The words you use do fall under the category of mannerisms - but they also speak to your general personality. For example, if I tend to be more of a straight backed, polite person then I might be more inclined to say something like "Hello, my name is Dakota. It's a pleasure to meet you." whereas if I were more laid back or casual I might just strip that down to saying "Hey" or "Hello" and offer a hand shake. Most anything about some one's behavior can give you insight to their personality, even if it's only on a base level. I don't think any one characteristic 'defines' you more then the others - it's just a matter of seeing everything together and trying to decide what sort of impression that gives.

jez....maybe a bit of both but really, personalities are hard to change in people, like the saying "You can take the boy out of the country, but you cant take the country out of the boy" lol mannerism you can chage though, to teach people how to be proper in polite is easy, it is differnt than personality that way. Manners is like how you know you should act around people to get good impresion, personality is just being yourself infront of other people...otherwise i think, point is taken
