(I encourage everyone in the pack who ever knew Fiory or feels close to Fiory to please post here on this thread. I will more then likely (since I'm at work at the moment) be adding on to this beginning post until later this afternoon...when it's completely done and I'm satisfied with it, I'll add an edit at the bottom saying finished or something to let you guys know...I must say now though, it has been a pleasure...and I know I've said it before, but I will be on more often...I promise..)
Twilight had settled across the mountainous range that engulfed List's world. Shadows loomed in the oncoming darkness, yearning for their time to arise into he world. Amongst the menacing knarled trees and the claws of shadows that crept in and out of sight, sat serenely a lone figure, staring softly up at the continually darkening sky. A translucent navy blue spread ever so slowly above, and as those golden hues fell lower to watch Fenris fall behind the horizon, brilliant pigments of lavender and red stained the world above. The clouds, though floating above in silence, seemed hardly there at all, floating in and out of sight in he midst of night's darkness. The skies would be clear this crisp evening, the stars beginning to awake from their daylight slumber. Tor had begun her ascention behind the fae, though she did not turn herself to meet the moon's gentle glow. Instead, a resounding howl echoed from her muzzle, goldenrod ears falling backward elegantly as the song of the aged nurse rang out over List's vast territory.
Her nights were soon reaching their end. She had seen many a sunrise, and many a sunset, waiting and watching for her own brilliant sun to set in the distance. This night, it seemed as though Fenris was taking his time sinking into the shadows; lingering for as long as he possibly could. It was quite reminiscent of how long the stargazer had lingered on in this world. How long ago should she have passed on to join her sister Bila in the world beyond? How long ago should she have left this place of mortal suffering to a land of immortal bliss? Not even Fiory herself knew the answers to those questions. Perhaps this was the God's doing, having her linger as long as she had, living on to guide and instruct, to listen and to love, to nurture and to protect. A cloud of steam forced it's way out of open nostrils, a ragged sound crackling in the lungs they had left behind. Would this evening be the last? Would she live on to see yet another sunrise? Or would she need to say goodbye to her family and her friends.
"Oh Tor...do you finally call me away from this world? Have you seen that I have suffered enough in this mortal land? " Her words were a whispered prayer, her ears falling softly, relaxing gently in a soft wintry breeze. The changing of the seasons would be coming soon; autumn would not last much longer now, and the chill air of winter was slowly setting in. Like years past, Fiory had always become rather thin and ragged during this time of harsheties, her coat thickening just enough to keep her warm until spring's late arrival. However, this year was different. Her ebony coat though dark as night, had faded with her age showing silver hairs amongst the black, and had yet to begin filling out as it normally would have come this time of year. Her coat still retained it's lighter flowing summery coat, shiny and waved; if it remained so, she fae would surely freeze in the coming months ahead, for List's winters were surely the harshest anywhere on earth. At least, as far as the listern vargs were concerned.
A passing jay roused a sound in the silence that fell across the territory, it's light chirping echoing out into the forests below. Fiory, continued to wait. She would wait as long as her time would allow for any of her loved ones to see her off. She could feel it in her failing heart that the sand in her hourglass was slowly running to it's end...But just, how many would wish her off she wondered, if any at all....
(Edit: Finished for now. I'm sorry it's not better, I'm just having a museless day today I guess.)

In every other area of Transylvania autumn was still in full bloom, looking down the mountain beautiful colors danced in the wind; the fire of autumn still had a week or so before it was smothered out by the coming winter. In the Listern Mountains, however, snow already covered the mountain peaks and the air was already becoming frigid. The ground grew solid and hard on the paws of the vargs and herla alike. Fenris was beginning to fade of this evening, bringing the sky to vibrant oranges and pinks; this was Ayame’s favorite time of the day, other than very early morning, it was like the gods used the sky as their canvas and painted it with beauty.
The ebon fae was the newest member of List, and since her joining she had very rarely ran into any other Listern varg. Not even her great mentor Sudak had been around to train and give her advice. She had battled the mighty Drappa of Deor and found Oren and Styr, but her own pack, her family she had hardly seen hide or hair of. A deep sigh escaped her muzzle as she wondered where everyone was, List was known more as a tight knit family then a pack, but since she joined it seemed that it was all fading away. “Oh Fenris and Tor, where are they? The winters are most cruel in the mountainous lands of List and without each other we may all perish this very winter.” Her head hung low to the ground; she must find someone, anyone even if it meant wondering the lands all night and all day.
The edge of the forest was close, and the ebon fae decided that she would rest under the protection of the trees before continuing her journey to find her pack mates. As she reached the edge of the tree line a scent hit her nares, she lifted her large muzzle to the darkening sky and her nose twitched back and forth taking in all the scents around her. “Could it be, has the stargazer returned once more?” Ayame had only met Fiory once, the day she joined List. She had immediately taken to the elder fae and hoped to learn much from her. But since then like everyone else they too had gone their separate ways and not crossed paths again. As a gust of wind blew, the scent of the elder hit her strongly once more, “she is here, she has returned.” A huge smile crossed her maw, finally someone in her family had returned. She immediately began sniffing the ground, trying to find what direction to run in.
Ayame picked up the stargazers trail and was off, she wasn’t too far into the forest and the two ebon fae’s would once again be together, even if only briefly. As she neared where Fiory was she slowed her pace to a crawl, she didn’t want to scare her or intrude on her. As her elder came into view, a worried look came across the face of the young ebon fae, she had seemed to age so much since she last saw Fiory, now with silver running through her pelt and she was so thin. Her coat hadn’t seemed to thicken much for the winter which worried Ayame greatly. She slowly began to come into the clearing where her elder lay, a whimper escaped her maw and her head was low with respect and her tail was slightly between her legs swaying back and forth and her auds lowered to the side, “Fiory, it is so good to see you. I was worried I would never find another pack mate again and especially worried I would never see you again. May I join you on this frigid night, maybe try to keep you warm?”
The ebon fae stood there, waiting for the stargazer to answer. She didn’t know her well enough to just run up to her and she didn’t know if she would rather be alone. Ayame hoped she didn’t, she hoped Fiory would welcome her family to her side on this winter like night. Fenris had almost completely set now and Tor in her almighty beauty was rising to the dark sky; soon it would be cold, too cold to be alone especially for Fiory. She was so thin, too thin for Ayame’s liking; first thing tomorrow she would have to go on a hunt for the stargazer, give her strength to make it through the horrible winter that List is known for.
//Gah, I'm sorry, it's definitely not my best. I'll do better next time. //

A gentle twitch of those goldenrod auds signaled that the elder stargazer had heard an approaching creature amongst her in the frigid air. Soft gold hues gleamed brightly as her head turned to greet the adolescent fae approaching. It was Ayame, a femme she hadn't spent much time with at all, though Fiory was quite good at remembering features and friends.
"Good evening...Ayame was it? I would be honored to have you join me this evening. Please, settle yourself near..." Her words were quiet, gentle to the ears as they had always been with a ringing of a loving grandmotherly tone etched seamlessly into the edges. A smile rose on her lips, and extending her graceful neck, she reached out and licked Ayame's forehead; a motherly act of care in any language. It was more of a short flick on fur, but enough for it to be noticed.
"How have you been my dear? It has been a while since our last meeting I'm afraid...I do appologize for my absence." Fiory said gently, a light cough escaping her muzzle before she began. In her old age, the agile femme had become quite versed in being able to cover her coughs as though they were nothing at all. This one, she passed off as nothing more then a throat clearing huff, then the ragged lung tearing cough that it was. Her tail softly swished back and forth, that grin still upon her maw as if nothing major was wrong at all...

A frigid breeze blew ruffling the pelt of young ebon fae as she slowly made her way over to Lists’ stargazer. Her warm gentle lick made Ayame smile and bow her head as she settled close to Fiory; hoping that the warmth from her body would bring some comfort to the elder. “Yes that’s right, my name is Ayame, it’s so good to see you again.” She smiled and whimpered trying to get as close as possible. Wrapping her long, bushy tail around Fiory; she somewhat chuckled at the question of how she had been. It wasn’t in disrespect but simply didn’t know how her elder would take her fight with the Deorian Drappa or if she really wanted to know that she had seen no sight of any other varg in List.
A deep sigh unfolded from her large barreled chest, and a worried look crossed her face. She looked down at the flame-like scar on her left bald shoulder and gentle licked the cool scar. Ayame knew there was no hiding the fact that she was in a battle, most of her small scars had now healed and been covered with her dark pelt but the one on her shoulder was bold and bare. “As you can see not all has been well in the lands of List since you’ve been gone. I’ve had a run in with Deor.” She paused briefly looking up at Fiory not sure how she would take her story. “One stormy night I was out just beyond the border of List, I was caught in a torrential downpour, lightening was crashing down all around me and the thunder rolled heavily across the skies. I thought it best to seek shelter. I did so and later a younger fae was also caught in the rain and joined me in the cave I had found. She had no scent of any pack so we started to converse and become friends. All was going so well till her adoptive mom Silve showed up who reeked of a wet Deorian. I didn’t know what to do, they were my sworn enemies. I had given shelter to an enemy. I knew if Gryffin had found out she would exile me from the pack.” Ayame looked ashamed and dropped her head about what she was about to say. “I grabbed the icy cub by the scruff and began to run up the mountain towards List. But I didn’t want to bring trouble to List so I stopped and turned and looked down, I wasn’t far enough up that the drop would kill the cub so I just let her fall as her mom watched in horror and then I came back to List.” She didn’t know what else to do, this was only the beginning of the story, and the worst was yet to come. She looked up at the Stargazer hoping she wouldn’t push her away and tell her to get out. “There’s more, before you speak, the story continues.”
Ayame knew she couldn’t stop now, if she was not honest with her elder then she would hear the truth from someone else, and she couldn’t bear that. “A few suns later I ventured down to the river, looking for a crisp drink. Well I found that drink and much more.” The ebon fae paused shaking her head, she got what she deserved. “Evidently, Mist, Deor’s Drappa had been looking for me because of what I had done to that cub. At the river that day she found me. We were both ready for a fight, well not just a fight a bloody battle. The river turned a crimson red that day from our bloody wounds. I won’t go into detail, but in the end with my flame-like gash and her spiraled slash in her leg we called it even. And though Mist will always be my enemy, and I would fight her again if I had to, I will always have respect for her, she held her own that day without any help and put up a good fight. “ Ayame’s fiery hues met the golden hues of the stargazer. She didn’t know what Fiory would have to say about her mingling with Deor, or if she did the right thing. The ebon fae hoped that she wouldn’t be scorned for her doings, all she could do is wait in silence and see what her elder had to say.
No matter what, she still had more to tell the stargazer. Not so much about her, but about the pack. And this was something she didn’t know how to break to Fiory. She lifted her head to the sky and prayed to Tor to give her strength to tell the stargazer the truth that she hadn’t seen anyone from the pack for quite some time and had searched so much for them, and found nothing. “Fiory, wait, there’s more…” She lowered her muzzled once again, and looked deep into her golden orbs. She hoped that what she had to tell her wouldn’t break her heart. She gently reached up and licked the stargazers’ muzzle. “I haven’t been able to find anyone from our pack. I’ve searched the mountainous lands high and low and still I’ve found no one, with no signs on varg life around. No bones of prey, no tuffs of fur, nothing.” She closed her eyes and lowered her head, no longer able to look at her elder, as if it was her fault for them disappearing. “I know they are out there somewhere I just don’t know where. I can’t find them. And with the cruel winter rushing upon us, if I don’t find them soon so that we can work as a pack together, we will surely all perish fending for ourselves.” Ayames head remained low, she began to rest her head on her large paws, and she looked up at Fiory. She needed answers; she wanted to be reassured that everything was going to be okay. Most of all she wanted the stargazer to be okay. "But maybe you returning home is a good omen, and that others will soon return home as well..."
Silence fell between the faes of ebony and silver hue. Golden rod ears of the elder was the only movement in the still of the twilight to be found by either varg. Such distressing news had flooded those old ears, and it took a moment for the elder she-wolf to comprehend their meaning to be able to respond. Such hate and malice was shown toward the neighboring Deor pack it seemed, though this was understandable giving the circumstances between the two packs, such hostility towards an innocent cub would not be tolerated.
"Do you regret your actions Ayame? Towards the cub you possibly traumatized in your actions?" her words were solemn, cold to the touch, obviously distressed though there lingered a small amount of care and concern in her words. She worried for the cub that had to go through such a traumatic experience, and she worried about the repercussions possibly coming towards her beloved List pack because of Ayame's attack on the Drappa of Deor. A sigh escaped Fiory's muzzle, and her eyes closed for a moment in peace, thinking of what to do in this situation.
"Ayame...You must never take out your frustrations upon a cub ever again. No matter what pack the pup may reside in, you must never punish them for it. Promise me that in the future, cubs are left to be innocents, and the adults you'll pick fights with. Promise not only me, but Tor in all her glory that you will no longer assault a cub because of their pack, or any other such nonsense." Fiory said softly, her words quiet on the gentle breeze that would often roll off of the varg's backs. A grin spread across her muzzle once more, and her eyes began to twinkle softly as she looked at the adolescent fae with compassion and understanding.
"Are we understood my dear?"

The air was frigid and no matter how close the young ebon fae was to her elder, she felt cold inside. Fiory was right, it was wrong what she had done to the icy cub or Deor. Deep down she knew it as soon as she dropped the cub. Maybe that’s why she turned and ran towards List, so she wouldn’t have to face the outcome of where the cub landed. A small tear formed in the corner of her eye and she looked back to the golden orbs of her elder. “Yes I do regret what I did to that innocent cub. She knew not the reason I did what I did, she didn’t yet understand pack ties. I promise you that I will never do anything to hurt helpless cubs again.” A deep sigh escaped her chest, she knew she was wrong, and Ayame had since grown up and more wise. “I assure you that you have nothing to worry about. I know what I did was wrong, that I have risked consequences between List and Deor. Things have settled now however and remain calm. In a sense I have grown up and learned from my errors.”
Ayame began to look around where the two eban fae’s no lay, everything was quiet except for the gust of wind that appeared here or there. Dark had settled upon them as she told her tale to her elder and she in return was scolded, which she deserved. “Fiory, are you okay? You seem so thin and your coat is nowhere near as thick as it should be. I’m worried about you, and that cough that you try so hard to cover up does not sound healthy at all. Is there anything that I can get you? Are you warm enough?” The scarred ebon fae knew she might be out of lines with her questions, she had only met the nurse of List once before the day she joined but she wanted to make sure that the stargazer who she felt so comfortable talking to was going to be around a long time, at least long enough for her to learn what she could from the elder.
The young ebon fae wondered if the stargazer before her would be honest with her, or if she would just brush off the questions like they were nothing. During her contemplation about Fiory’s answers, she realized that her elder was so disappointed in the young fae that she didn’t mention anything about ayame’s concern for her missing packmates. “Oh dearest elder, do you think that our pack mates will return to be with us on this cold night? Do you think they will return to us unharmed and well?”
Thanks Shunke!

A smile formed on the silver muzzle of that stargazer, and a sigh escaped her nostrils of black. Calm subdued her heart and her tail wagged softly behind her in happiness.
"Yesterday is history, tomarrow is a mystery...but today is a gift..that is why it is called the Present....Do not dwell on the past any longer, so just learn from it." Was all the aging stargazer replied with clearing her throat once m ore of whatever ailed her. Her ears flicked momentarily. This young fae was concerned for her health it appeared, concerned for the aging femme. It was sweet really, so she decided to indulge at least for a moment in the younger fae's curiousity.
"You worry about me a bit too much my dear...I am as I am supposed to be at this point in my life...Did you know, I am nearing thirteen years of age?" She replied, chuckling raspingly at her own conclusion to her age and health. "I have lived a long life. I have seen my pups born and grow to fine vargs, and I have lived to see this pack flourish into a formidable foe against it's enemies....I have also seen the deaths of prey and varg alike that should not have come before my own..." her voice grew quiet for a moment, yet she kept that smile upon her muzzle, as if she was recollecting the happiest times in her life. The first day she met her sister Bila, and her soon to be mate Tsuki. The day she joined the legendary duo of Shatocwnn and Leohlic with the birth of List, and the heavenly day she met her late mate Bristol, and whelped their three pups; Denisha, Shatila and Orion..her thoughts moved to sadness, realizing that Denisha and Shatila may be lost to this world, and with Orion, she was unsure as well. Her mind moved to the thought of her great nieces, Aiyu and Sora. Her mind rested on how grown they had become in the coming years, and how their mother Gryffin, the daughter of Leohlic and Shato had risen to her rightful place as Drappa of List. So many faces smiled down at her from her heavenly memories, and her heart swelled with peace. She had indeed lived a long and fruitful life, and upon realizing this she knew her time was slowly coming to an end, and yet she did not fear the unknown oblivion that awaited her; she almost welcomed it.
"I have lived a long life...I appreciate your concern my dear, but I believe I am this way tonight for a reason, but thank you for your kindness anyway...As for our missing pack mates, I know they are here; List is a vast territory, so they may be on the outskirts, but heed my words Ayame, they are here...List is famous for our disappearing vargs as well as out tight nit family...They will appear again, do not fret...they will appear again.."

The lone ivory form of the icy Dragga of List lay motionless atop a mountain ridge along its borders. Fenris' rays splitting through the mann's pinched eye lids. The snow laden form slowly parting his eye lids to reveal his piercing, icy blue hues. The setting orb of Fenris beginning to be blocked by the ridges along the furthest edge of the Listern boundaries. A cold breeze on the autumn air rose along the side of the mountain, striking the mann and sending his pelt into an apparent fit. His head raised and eyes shut tight once more fighting the frigid rush. Along the icy air rang a faint howl that rang true and loud as it brought Sudak's auds shooting to full attention. His whole body rose letting the snow drip off without a shake. Without an utter of a word the mann bolted down the mountainside, dodging the oncoming barrage of assaults by the brush, trees, and occasional lera. His nares flaring searching intensely for the scent he had quickly picked up, that of his former Drappa and his adopted aunt.
Darting up another mountainside he came to a slow trot as the scent increased dramatically. He was approaching from downwind and he cleared through the brush to find the aged form of Fiory laying alongside that of his new found packmate Ayame. He came to a halt listening briefly before padding slowly towards the couple . He bowed slightly in respect for his elder then came to full attention with his tail wagging with joy in seeing them both.
"Fiory, it is great to see you again at last. We have all missed you."
His gaze shot to Ayame for a moment to see that she had a sense of sadness on her maw. Then returning to Fiory he noticed she also had a upset demeanor. The Dragga's wag quickly subsided and approached till he was alongside the two.
The wind blew, parting the downy pelt of Ayame and sending a chill through her entire body, the air was frigid and it was only going to get worse as each day and night passed. She inched closer to the stargazer, trying to keep them both warm. Soon snow would be covering the ground, the ground would be frozen and lera would be scarce, scarcer then they already were. A loving smile came across Fiory’s maw; she seemed to accept Ayame’s promise of never hurting another cub, and learning from the past but living in the present and looking to the future. Ayame smiled and nuzzled her elder, she was the happiest she had been in many moons, she was beginning to feel like she had a family with Fiory, but she also knew that she wouldn’t live forever and that her time was growing short.
Ayame’s fiery orbs grew wide, she couldn’t believe that Lists’ stargazer was that old. “Wow, Fiory, you have had a long fulfilling life, full of love and happiness. But I guess with a long life also comes pain of losing loved ones that are very dear to you.” The young ebon fae smiled sweetly at the stargazer, she would be sad when Tor called Fiory to the Red Meadow, but she knew she was ready to go, Ayame just hoped she would be by her side when she went to be with her family that was already running in the red flowers. Her elder grew quiet, Ayame assumed that she was thinking about all those loved ones close to her that had grown and moved on or those who have already passed, her orbs became bright and it was like a movie playing across them. The young ebon fae placed her head on her paws and just watched Fiory admiring her for the varg she had become.
Ayame’s auds perked when Fiory mentioned their family returning, and she hoped she was right, with all her heart she hoped she was right. Then the wind picked up, and a familiar scent entered her twitching nares, “could it be?” she thought. Ayame began looking around frantically, appearing through the trees a ghostly white form appeared, the young ebon fae’s heart jumped; Sudak had returned home to List. Torn between whether to stay by Fiory’s side to keep her warm or whether to greet her Dragga; she decided to briefly leave the stargazer’s side to say hello. Gracefully she rose to her paws, and walked over to the snowy mann dipping her head in respect. When she reached the Dragga she nuzzled him gently and licked his muzzle. “It’s good to see you again Dragga, welcome home. Fiory and I were just discussing life and what there is to learn from it. Won’t you join us for the night?” After her brief hello to Sudak she promptly returned to the stargazer’s side, not wanting too much heat to escape her. Tonight she would stay close to assure she stayed warm and felt the love Ayame felt for her elder, even if it was one of the last times she would visit and talk to the stargazer.
Curtain of dense vegetation obscuring her from view Aiyu stare out across the panoramic view of conifers that decorated the whole of List. Before her lay her entire life and the only home she had ever known, stretched out before like a fine work of art. Twice before she had risked leaving the comforting familiarity of her birthplace to explore the untamed wilds of the surrounding mountain range, only to be drawn back to that which she felt most secure. Letting the cool breeze of the autumn air sweep across her like the gentle caress of a lover’s touch she looked down at the vast expanse through eyes the color of the spring forest, watching as the last rays of Fenris golden light disappear over the horizon to parts unknown to make way for the coming night. More than once she had frequented the narrow cliff side to watch the sun set and review the events of her life, finding comfort in the knowledge that the spot was known only to one other so that she was likely to be left undisturbed. Alabaster form reclining comfortably on her haunches she enjoyed the frigid mountain air, tensing a moment later as a rasping howl cut overshadowed the peaceful silence that had up until that moment hung over the snow laden mountainside.
She rose without a moment’s hesitation, snow flaking from her ivory pelt in a storm of white powder. Retracing her steps she made her way down the craggy mountainside, following the same precarious path she had taken on the way up. When she found a spot where she could have stable footing she broke out into a even trot, gradually building speed as she followed the scent path through the thick pine forest that made up the surrounding habitat. Clearing through the brush Aiyu found herself staring down the withered form of her aunt and mentor Fiory huddled alongside another varg she was unfamiliar with. She could see her father standing off to the side, apparently observing the duo with somewhat concerned expression causing a slight feeling of trepidation to course through Aiyu. Dipping her head respectfully she approached cautiously, wary of her father’s presence as well as that of the unknown fae. Eying them carefully she made a beeline for her mentor, nuzzling her warmly and licking her chin submissively in a sound but silent greeting.
Daughter of Gryffin and Sudak Descendent of Leohlic and Shatocwn Niece of Fiory and Bristol Sister of Sora and Arias
A calm wind shuffled through the varg's fur as the ivory mann of List emerged into the quiet area. A smile spread upon the elder's muzzle, her head turning to meet that of her Dragga, the mighty varg of snow and ice, and leader of List. My, how he had grown.
"Sudak it is an honor to see you again my dear friend. I had feared I would not see all of List again." She whispered softly, her eyes of gold sparkling in the twilight of night. "We are as we are supposed to be mighty Dragga. Everything, is as it should be." Her words were quiet, calming almost as if she herself knew her time was slowly dwindling further away, yet she did not fear it, nor welcome it too quickly; she merely just allowed it to take as long as it would take to end. Before she could say another word, a lick to her muzzle had been given and her eyes sparkled brighter with a new fire seeing her apprentice stargazer appear as if out of the black night itself.
"Ah, Aiyu, my shining star, look at how you've grown! Such a lovely she-varg you've matured into. " Her muscles twitched and her limbs slowly moved. Her creaking bones whining softly under the little weight she bore as the she wolf of ebony stood proud before Aiyu, the feelings of joy glistening in her eyes like no other moment before. It was clear that Fiory had some important message for the young she-wolf, for she would not have risked standing before, not even for her own Dragga.
"Aiyu, my dearest starling...I hope your meditations and your individual trainings have gone well...I have had a vision my dear, a vision of what is...and what will be." For the first time, Fiory spoke of her nightly visions to anyone, normally keeping them to herself, she smiled warmly at her apprentice ready to give the valuable information over with little resistance. Yet, she paused, if not to wait for the right amount of sand to fall from her life's hourglass to say such precious information, or perhaps it was because of the other varg now huddled about the area. Gryffin, I do pray you are well, and you come soon, for this concerns the pack of List, not just Aiyu herself... The thought ran through her mind for only a moment, before he back end wavered a moment under the added weight of standing instead of lying still upon the ground. No, she would not give in to it yet, she must wait and stand for only a few moments longer. It was torturous to her back and her joints screamed in pain standing there, but she would not budge; this information would be said before rest could come....
"Are you ready my dear? " and before Aiyu could ask the obvious question of 'ready for what?', Fiory finished, her tail flicking back and forth behind her. "For your legacy to begin?"

The waves of concern swept through the ivory mann, though it was quickly subsided with the encouragement from his former Drappa, however not completely eliminated. With Ayame’s quick acknowledgement, and almost daughterly nuzzle, a smile briefly spread across the Dragga’s maw though it was short lived. The tension was still evident as the nurse gave a weak smile and sung her almost eerie words with such a somber tone. The ivory Dragga could tell that Fiory was at peace so he decided not to pursue it any further. The aged ebon fae was clearly beyond her age and her body was now showing its natural signs. Her will for life still remained strong and the acknowledgment of life’s unavoidable cycle encouraged and reassured the mann. Her words came unhindered and carried swiftly on the night’s frigid air, some of them still strange to the auds of the Dragga. Sudak had never come to terms with how he had taken position over that of his former Drappa. It brought a strange tension to the breeze whenever words were spoken on such terms. He would always see Fiory as the mother like figure he had when he was young, the aunt as he grew into adulthood, and his Drappa as he matured into the varg that stood now.
With words exchanged Aiyu made her rather noisy entrance and without hesitance made a path for Fiory. Fiory’s attention shifted to that of Aiyu and became seemingly entranced with her thereafter. The mann couldn’t help but smile at how much of the pack had been returning to greet the returning nurse. His family seemed to be reuniting, and for some meeting for the first time. It brought pity on his heart for those that would not get to know the ebon fae as he had.
The speech of a vision appearing to Fiory was nothing too new to Sudak, as he expected a stargazer of Fiory’s status to have gained this ability by her time, though this one seemed to be one of deep importance to the stargazer. Sudak took a rushed step to the aide of Fiory as she rose to her nimble stilts, ensuring she would not come rushing back to the harsh terra. Sudak’s hues were rushing between that of Aiyu and Fiory however, as he devoted his attention to that of the stargazer. What could she have seen that seemed so important? In all of his days Fiory had never made such a scene of something such as this. The ivory mann stood supporting her, dumbfounded as to what she had to speak of, the expression clearly showing on his face.
The sky continued to darken, and in doing so the temperature continued to fall. Soon the young ebon fae was starting to see her own breath, a true sign of an early winter for List. She had become quiet, there was nothing more for her to say. Tonight she would stay by the stargazer’s side as long as she was needed, and once she was no longer needed she would move to the shadows surrounding the pack, but still be there when she was needed once again. That time came sooner than Ayame had hoped; soon another icy varg entered the picture, this time a young fae. She knew the fae to be Aiyu by the stories that Sudak had told her when she was much younger, but she hadn’t gotten the chance to meet her since she had joined List. Now, however, was not the time for introductions, as the snowy fae immediately approached the stargazer and avoided and slipped by her father. Ayame rose to her paws as Fiory did as she braced in case her brittle bones gave out; once she was stable she moved away and made room for Aiyu and the elder stargazer to reunite.
Soon Sudak rushed in as well to support Fiory and Ayame began to back away into the shadows; though she was part of List, she still felt she had a long way to go before she actually belonged. As she entered the shadows she rested back on her haunches, the only thing now noticeable were her fiery hues. She sat there patiently, listening intently on what the elder had to say. The talk of visions and the future had Ayame slightly worried; it was as if it was the stargazer’s last will and testament she was giving on this night. Sadness entered her fiery orbs, it was becoming more and more clear that tonight would end in a celebration on Fiory’s long life; and if it wasn’t tonight she knew it would be soon.

Feelings of trepidation fading rapidly beneath the loving gaze of the Starlit Drappa Aiyu smiled up at the former Drappa, ivory tassel coming to life behind her, flickering happily from side to side. She was overjoyed to see that her mentor had returned to her after her prolonged absence, expressing her joy in a series of enthusiastic licks and soft whines. At the ebon drappa’s praise she ducked her head, skin flushing brightly beneath her alabaster pelt as she concentrated on staring down at her paws. “You are too kind Fiory.” Aiyu felt her previous doubts begin to return as she watched her aunt struggle to rise, support arriving from either side as she was met by Sudak and the unnamed femme.
As Fiory began to speak Aiyu gasped, entranced by the hypnotic tones of aging drappa. The joy she had felt only moments before quickly began to subside, replaced by an odd overwhelming feeling of dread. It was only natural that Fiory would be reaching the end of her time, she had lived a long life some of which had been full of hardship and strife. But she had endured as she always had. The thought that she might one day not be around had never occurred to Aiyu who had always believed her mentor would always be around to help and guide her. Despite the ebon drappa’s apparent joy Aiyu found herself suddenly unsure of what to do. She listened intently to what her mentor had to say, hanging off her every word as though she were being talked through another lesson. At Fiory’s question Aiyu found that she was caught off guard, unsure how to proceed she hesitated before finally reaffirming herself a moment later. “I am.”
((god this sucks, but I had to gun it so I could finish it before work. Forgive the crapedge.))
Daughter of Gryffin and Sudak Descendent of Leohlic and Shatocwn Niece of Fiory and Bristol Sister of Sora and Arias
A grin spread across the femme's muzzle, and she sighed as if the heavy burden of living in this harsh world was finally lifted and her nearly endless journey could finally come to it's finish. Muscles twitching with the last of their strength, Fiory moved closer to Aiyu, placing her head upon the young adolescent's shoulder, her goldenrod ears flicking backward in a warm and comforting nuzzle. Silence passed between the two and those who would bear witness to the following events. Her tail fell softly, and her weight more then once wished to fail on her, but there she stood. After a moment had passed, she backed away, to smile warmly at her adoptive neice, her eyes welling with sparkling tears as if they were soaking in Aiyu's face and features, burning them into her retinas so the image would never leave her memory.
"Thank you...I am so proud of you Aiyu...You have grown into a fine young fae, and it's finally time for you to trek out on your own. I have taught you all I can, and now it's your turn to teach the others what I have taught you..." her words faltered softly, her lithe frame moving past the three vargs, her legs shaking with the effort of the minimal steps it took to look at them all at once. Oh how she wished Gryffin had been here, and Drathlic....and Silent.....and Sora.....................and Orion, her son....
I will see them soon...I will watch over them for the rest of their time here on earth... she thought to herself, smiling brightly at them all. The ringing of the chimes of heaven were beckoning her arrival to the Red Meadow; she could almost see the valley she would have to cross when she was ready to go. Fiory could no longer stall her time here on earth.. Slowly she lowered her head, and gently lay back down into a comfortable position, her head held high and proud. She looked up at her pack mates, at her family, her eyes closing for a breif moment before reopening as a brilliant glow, shining softly in the darkness that had begun to hang low upon the world of List, and then, she spoke.
"Sudak, Ayame...Please bare witness to tonight's events, for they are important in Aiyu's life. She has been chosen for greatness, and she should be looked upon with pride and much respect after tonight. Tonight will be her final test, and I know she will pass with flying colors....I will miss you both with all my heart, for you have been my family, whether that time be as long or as short as it has been..." Fiory stopped for a second, swallowing quietly, her lower lip quivering silently in the dark. "Please, if you see Gryffin, Silent, and Drathlic....tell them what has happened here tonight....and....and that they as well as yourselves, will always be in my heart...." Her chest swelled quietly, before her gaze turned in silence toward her young niece...
"Aiyu my Blazing Star. I give this message to you for I am the last of my kind. When one of my kin dies, the apprentice of said bitch is given the gifts of the teacher. I praise you on high, A Stargazer; you have learned what you can and your duty is now to teach those unworthy of such a title. Continue to walk this earth as long as you can, for I have forseen in my dreams that you will live on happily with a dark shadow at your side. Teach with love and with wisdom, share your knowledge and never forget to be understanding toward your fellow varg. Trust in Tor and Fenris, for they are your gods and they deserve your voice in the night...." Fiory stopped momentarily, her breath leaving her lungs in a rasping cough, her ears falling backward as if trying to compose herself once more. "Live your life with love in your heart, never forget your past nor the creatures who help you along the way, but never loose sight of the future and the mysteries it brings with it....Trust in the Dark Star that will appear with winter's first snow, for I fear if you do not, you will never live happily after this day....Now, turn your nose to the sky, and recite your oath to these witnesses here, Myself, and to Tor..And take your rightful place, as Stargazer of List..." Fiory would wait a moment, her head lifting upwards as if to show Aiyu what to do. Memories flooded her mind of when she was a young she-wolf like her niece, taking the vow herself and proclaiming it to the heavens. A soft whisper escaped her muzzle, riding gently on the wind to Aiyu's ears so that she would know the words to say to the stars and Moon above.
"To the West is the setting Sun, To the East the rising Moon...Inbetween lies Fiory, Keeper of the Stars.."
The only word in this particular prayer, would be the changing of the name; now it was up to Aiyu to finish what had begun, and to take on her role passed down from a once mighty clan full of wisdom and courage, love and light....
((Blargh....utter crap, but oh well, I guess it works for right now. ))
