Confident that the brief skirmish between father and daughter had passed, he offered Sorcha another warm smile before giving a nod at the last of her words. He was indeed glad, too, that she had been present to attend the formal meeting, for her young, innocent presence somehow made him feel as though he was among friends. Her sincere understanding served to numb the awkward feelings that would have otherwise ran rampant throughout the encounter. Thus, his tired nerves were spared, for he found endless pools of understanding and reassurance in the indigo orbs of the young healer. Strange it was, that such comfort could be given from one so inexperienced to a mann who had seen more of the world, though in truth, Sorcha was better behaved than most cubs he had seen (due no doubt to her noble upbringing), and seemed better equipped to handle such situations, especially with the prospect of becoming a master in the art of healing.
Returning his attention once more to the amber Dragga, he found himself unsure of how Draeg had assumed his position as Dragga. He had never been briefed on the history of other packs, though he felt slightly foolish for not being in possession of such knowledge. From the tone of Draeg's voice he could guess that his rise to power had not favored Koran's Alphas at the time, and he was implied that his previous Drappa, Tarkah, might still carry some bitterness. Averting his gaze to hide his lack of knowledge, he merely gave a small nod of understanding before returning his golden eyes to the Dragga. It was easy to sense the tension that came from his mentioning man, though he was relieved to see the moment pass quickly.
Something that Draeg said had caught Kai's attention, though the amber male was quick to continue his train of thought rather than expound on his previous statement. How could there be more to what he said? Had he given some sign that... but no, he thought, it wasn't possible considering there was nothing of scandal to be revealed. Shaking off the feeling he merely nodded in agreement with Draeg's words, until it became his turn to speak, in which his voice became hurried and even a bit flustered. "Our exploits, my exploits were strictly formal, I assure you," he spoke, as though he needed to defend himself from some unseen beast. Calming himself best he could, he tried not to appear so unnerved. Clearing his throat, he continued, Our venture consisted of no more than leaving GeRad's border after our encounter with man, and passing into Koran. We may have stopped for a drink somewhere in between." He remembered with fondness and soem confusion their escapade near the gently flowing stream, how the scout had splashed at him playfully and how he had not understood her intentions. Flirting was a concept new to the Beta, for he had always been more reserved with his emotions than perhaps was normal. "She was unable to make the acquaintance of Phantom, though I know that my Drappa would not have minded. Krystal was a friend of Koran, after all, and in need of hospitality. I can personally attest to her being welcome back to Koran at any time. Perhaps upon another visit she could meet with the Drappa, as it does feel somewhat strange for them to continue on, unaware of each other when a meeting between them may have initially been in the best interest. Thankfully, the awkwardness has been somewhat reduced by my meeting you hear today." Content with his retelling of the past events, he sat in silence, his mind slowly wandering as his tail tapped comfortably on the ground.
