(((No offense meant to good ol’ Cwen here, lol. We all love you. ^_^ )))
Smiling warmly Lydair yipped a soft thanks to her silver Drappa, but as puzzled- and then shocked- look masked her normal façade Lydair blinked slowly before her smile soured into a staid frown; had Cwen truly not known about the cubs? All of Ge-Rad, or at those she had met and talked with, knew of the cubs far before she even announced it to her companions. A flicker of disappoint sparked in her cyan orbs and she backed a step from the Drappa; Lydair, upon first meeting Cwen, had a deep respect for the fae but since her time well-spent in Ge-Rad Cwen had become little more than an icon of power to the cobalt femme; very few Varg in Ge-Rad truly liked their Drappa, although she received the respect she deserved as Ge-Rad’s leader. Pursing her lips Lydair’s ivory muzzle parted to hold sway over the words she was about to speak; Yelae’s interjection, so clam and quiet, provoked a low growl from Lydair and she turned away from the two femmes, nodding to Cal lightly as she waited for the annoying exchange to be completed; Yelae had certainly become friends with her Drappa but to Lydair it made no difference. Lydair still felt that the white she-Varg had snapped at Koan for no reason and then continued on about it, yet a few in Ge-rad, including her amber Dragga and her silvery Drappa both regarded her as docile and sweet; Lydair thought that same but it aggravated her beyond describable words that, even among such warring times, she had done little but speak softly and sweetly to calm down, speaking of peace that made the Healer’s gut coil; peace could only be maintained for so long and many other Varg felt that an attack on Sarnes and Balkar was an excellent thing. Cal had been so severely injured and Draeg’s daughter’s death still rung soundly in her bitter mate’s mind. Sharp words emitted from Cal’s throat brought a glance to Cwen’s face; Cal was not trying to goad his Drappa into a fight but it seemed common knowledge that he had been sorely abused by the Sarnes and Balkar and Lydair placed no blame on him; the entire thing had been riled by Cwen’s supposed betrayal of some Sarnes Varg that eventually led to Huts’ death and now the Varg that was Uskiya’s mate and one of her close friends had been hurt, was suffering the myriad consequences. ”I believe I will; I am very close to your mate and I hope to become their aunt.” Lydair grinned with a bark. ”Is Skep doing well with them? I haven’t seen my nephew yet- only his sisters.” She regarded the tan male fondly. Suddenly Cwen snarled in reprimand to Cal and Lydair whirled around, her own black lips twitching in annoyance as her Drappa raised herself to her full height and once more seemed to assert yet again the fact that she was in charge; the Healer was fully aware and she knew Cal was too. Lydair’s own tapered muzzle rose proudly and the slender she-Varg took a hesitant step forward, azure eyes flashing angrily as Cwen’s cold words sliced the air before herm nicking the wind. Cal spoke to her, and Lydair smiled again, taking her gaze from her Drappa for a moment before, unexpectedly, Cwen rushed forward in a flurry of snapping jaws and snarls, and Lydair barely bit back her own vicious snarl at the Drappa as she tried to swing herself out of the way; overly protective now of the cubs that were rapidly growing inside of her Lydair pulled her ears against her skull, her voice finally ringing out clearly. ”Cwen, you are the Drappa here, we all know that. And we all know not to challenge you. Cal was tortured. He’s your faithful emissary; his mate is your pack Nurse and the fact that you do not yet know that he spent far too long in that demonic pack’s borders surprised all of us-“ Throwing Yelae a glance, she added, ”At least Cal and I. He merely thought you would know, and that your mate would tell you.” At Cwen’s next words Lydair’s mind snarled angrily, spitting things that, had she not been with cubs, would have gladly said to the Drappa before her. Draeg doesn’t treat his pack members like that; its no wonder you don’t know because no one would want to speak to you! And of course you wouldn’t hesitate, you seem so into a power rage all the time that it just comes second nature to you! Dropping her gaze from Cwen’s muzzle she whirled and sprang from the clearing, her burden misguiding her legs as she tripped and slid forward; with a wince she got up, not bothering to look back on the group that had to be fighting- as Yelae’s soft words Lydair again bit back an angry snarl but kept sprinting, her breath now coming in pants as her sides heaved…

"So much anger is in your voice, Lydair," the female called out to Lydair, her voice wavering yet it still could be heard at it flitted through the trees like a tiny bird. "I feel your agitation grow towards me...and I can only ponder as to why...why? Anger towards me seems to come easier than towards others...and I am not certain if it happened in the long past or the close one. Whatever the reason would you...would you..." she pauses, watching Lydair fall then rise, "Would you have done the same in a similiar position? If Shako had scorned your mate, wouldn't you have snapped back with emotion that overtook you mind as well?
"Anger is blinding you...it is blinding us all, can no one else see it?" the red-breasted Varg looks away, turning to Cwen. "I'm sorry Cwen...for troubling you..." she says, nodding her head in almost a bow before she trotted off as well. A robbin flitted by, its red breast giving warmth to the cold gray surroundings. It preened itself then began its journy again, looking down at the red-breasted female Varg below him. Quietly, the little speck of colour diappeared into the dull sky, to south.

Watching as Lydair spoke strongly towards her, holding a powerful stance, Cwen snarled savagely at her Healer and lunged too for the air before the hybrid’s muzzle. Cwen wasn’t on a power trip, nor was she trying to beat her pack members down into a pulp. She was merely sick and tired of vargs not understand her…and not treating her as an equal towards Draeg. Forever in her life to begin with things had worked out smoothly…up until the day she had decided to leave her perfect life for that of a more exciting Kerl’s existence. Since then things had gone from bad to happy, and then suddenly dropped worse than hell. Until the day she had met Draeg, her life had been virtually lifeless. She had been tossed around like a lera’s carcass amongst young wolf cubs at play. And after learning that she had four healthy newborn cubs who had not suffered the same fate as their four other siblings, Cwen had never felt so happy. But with this new life, had come death. Her good friend Huts had suffered a terrible death – and of course, as with the rest of her life, she had been the one to blame for it. Though with the start of a pack, Cwen thought her life would change for the better. To have wolves who would look up to her rather than down on her and see her for who she was – just like Draeg had always done. But now…now she knew the truth that things would not be quite as simple as she’d hoped for. As Lydair’s mind fought words back before turning tail and bounding away, only to fall and get back up, Cwen growled deeply after her. “I am the Drappa of this pack Lydair, and for fear that my family are in constant danger from Serg, I’ve been patrolling the borders as often as I can to prevent anything or anyone getting through that shouldn’t. And due to this I tend not to see my mate as often as I’d like, nor the rest of my family,” she barked, not even registering that she was calling her pack family. That may have been a shock to them…but it was more or less true. As her mother, Shayla, had always treated her pack as family though not all were blood related, she too would follow in that part of her mothers paw steps. Shayla had been kind and considerate…and that was why Cwen had loved her so. To have the knowledge that her mother had passed away and even heard Mayan utter her last words…the mere memory of it tore her battered heart apart.
Chocking back a tearful cry, Cwen threw her gaze round to Cal and Yelae, whining slightly as her hackles fell and tail sunk from its erect posture. She felt utterly defeated. Strength and authority could help her no more against her pack members. Cwen couldn’t have cared less if the pack had hated her, each and every one of them. But if it was for a reason they didn’t fully understand…that was what she saw was wrong with the picture. None of the varg’s she called family knew her fully. Only Draeg knew her – and even then he didn’t seem to know the full truth. And she found it highly amusing that he was so far the only varg bar a small hand full that thought kindly towards her. Sighing heavily she hung her head and began to pad away from the group in the opposite direction from Lydair, limping and tensing as she suddenly felt the pain from her injuries return. It as unlikely she would be receiving healing herbs now after Lydair’s sharp departure. “That’s it…I’m done…” she spoke mildly to herself before parting through the shrubbery and out of the clearing. If the others wished to have another word against her they had free will to approach her as she left, but otherwise – she would not return unless given reason to.
((Sorry Cal, but right now I needed to just post and get that out >.< ))
