Greetings from the Recluse

[Drathlic]

The mountainous air was fresh and fulfilling for the young adults lungs as he breathed heavily, loping and bounding his way from jagged rock to rock. The young timber male was far more of a recluse for List's community now. Once he was a strong and well known figure, known for his friendships with faemme and bringing them off the Kerl terrain to join the small family within the mountains. He had been wandering a lot more, remaining slightly illusive to those he loved. And why? He wasn't entirely sure. Restless maybe, seeking new terrain. Wishing to make more friends and create a broader mind on the world he lived in.

Drathlic combed the mountain side, his large, broad paws helping him to grasp hold of the rocks beneath him and rough pads prevented him slipping on those which were wet. His thick pelt - a mixture of reds, browns and greys - helped prevent him from the blistery winds that List's terrain threw upon him. A long brushy tail, once considered wriggly and pathetic in his juvinile and cub days, was now held rigid and proud as he made his way across the landscape, a strong head carrying two finely tuned and inquisitive auds.
Though the most intreiging feature, and distinguishing to all, was his cyan blue hues. Most timber varg of his age would have lost their puppy blue hues and they would have developed into strong fiery eyes or coated into a golden yellow. But alas, he'd be forever tainted with his puppy-like hues, making the young adult seem that little bit younger than he really was.

Drathlic's decent was coming to an end, this he knew for the terrain was becoming a little less rocky and a little more grassy, patches of wet soil dotted far out until the sparse tree line came into view. Winter had ended adn spring had begun, and of course with it came the rain and the thaw. Everything seemed so wet, the air clingy as moisture made it humid. He reached the end of his downhill hike and slowed to a halt, panting lightly and swaying his tail with content as he thought of his packmates and those he longed to speak with again. Renn and Silent most of all, as those were his two closest friends within the pack - and the two he had introduced.
Though the young male had befriended mostly faemme in his short life, he was always confused and amazed by them. He never understood their motives or why they acted like they did, hiding things - especially emotions - in their eyes so that he couldn't read them. It bewildered him, yet fascinated him most of all. Lately he had been having urged not known to him before. He had caught scents of females he'd never met before yet knew they were from a bitch and not a dog.
And when he'd picked up the traces of Renn, Silent, or any other faemme in the List pack, he'd lusted deeply for their company. Of course, Drathlic was completely unaware of the teenage hormones now running rapid through his bloodstream.

After pacing back and forth with his nose pressed to the earth, hoping to catch a trace of one of his packmate's scents, the young timber varg let out an impatient whine before slowly pushing his head forward and tilting it back slightly, parting his muzzle to let his youthful music play out across the land, calling his friends to his side. After several repeats, he stopped and lifted his head, perking his auds and swivelling them. There he waited, hoping for a reply...

[Renn]

Not often could Renn be found within the territory of the Pack that supported her. Instead, the golden pelted faemme would venture out and across the borders, exploring the surrounding landscape and meeting Kerls and other wandering Pack-wolves. Occasionally, she would scent the precense of those she knew and had met, yet she did not follow them up, preferring to keep to ehr own company and try to forget the emotional trauma she had been through, both from when she was a cub and what had happened more recently. Of course, she had met a few unknown Vargs, and all at once she had come across three unknown wolves and one familiar face. It ahd been nightime and the young faemme was spooked by the fall of a branch that could have done her damage, when she ran into a small white cub named Nagaem and the grotesque Balkan, Carcharoth. The midnight-black male had particularly snared her thoughts and she despised his lack of respect for faemmes, referring to them as bitches for no real reason and complimenting himself on his charm. But, he had attracted her respect and she was drawn to his ways, despite herself. Of course, the folds of skin that hung from his underbelly and the scar that ran through one eye were enough to put her off, but his ways with words and the fact that he was ruthless enough to do anything to protect his beliefs were enought to attract her attention. Ph yes, Carcharoth was a one. The foolish Desdimona had also appeared, trying her best to scare Renn before she was cut short by Alkiera, one of Renn's closer friends. The ebony spitfire's acid-tipped tongue had worked wonders and it was blatant that she had attracted the attention of Carcharoth, though his charm and wit made him seem like a player.

But now, she had returned to her boundaries, elated and brimming with love, joy and relief over discovering that Kop had returned. The pair of wolves had met by the riverbank and stayed together for a while, before the golden youth had decided to return to List and spend time with the wolves she cared for as much as she cared for Kop. Little did she know that his feelings for her had waned slightly and he doubted their relationship. The familiar melody that belonged to ehr friend, Drathlic, pierced the silence and her ears pricked forward with interest. Quickly pin-pointing his position, she sent back her won melody to inform him that she was coming, before speeding up into a lope.

She reached Drathlic within a matter of minutes and her eyes regarded the youth, taking in his changes. His rudy pelt was slightly greyer, another sign that he was growing, and he was larger than Renn, due to his gender and the slight age differance. But, of course, his eyes had remained the same shade of azure, a fault in his genes, yet eerily beautiful. A definite spring in her step, Renn padded over and nuzzled her friend in greeting, unaware that the hormones that raged in his blood could interpret her friendly gesture as an act of the lust he was beginning to feel for her, Silent and however many faemmes whose scents he found.

[Drathlic]

A howl from beyond the tree line couldn't help but force the young male's heart into an accelrating race. His auds perked and his cyan eyes widened with delight, a pink tongue licking his maw with a whine of impatience. Drathlic's tassel was slowly swaying back and forth, gaining speed with every minute that passed as he waited impatiently for his friend to appear from the trees. And of course, it didn't take long until she emerged from the shadows and bounded towards him, her golden pelt rippling beautifully under Fenris' spring rays.
Bumping his head affectionatly across her own in return of her nuzzle, Drathlic let a small yip escape his jaws as he bounced back, tail now fully erect and wagging proudly above his head. For being once so scraggly and worm-like, the ruddy male was fond of his banner, and therefore held it like one. He had greatly missed Renn, and Silent for that matter. His two best friends happened to be faemme and both he so happened to have introduced to the pack they all resided in this present day.

Sitting bak on his haunches, tail still swaying back and forth across the rocky terrain and picking up small clumps of earth in the now tangled hair, the young adult peered with a long grin at his golden friend, her emerald orbs dazzling elegantly in the light. "Long time no see," he chuckled softly, lifting a paw and resting it on her shoulder before letting it fall back to the ground. "How've you been?"

[Renn]

Watching as Drathlic's muscles subtly completed the movement he made, Renn reflected on how she herself looked. The last time she had seen Drathlic, Renn had begun to detiriorate from her adolescent physique, becoming thinner and rugged. Inbetween meeting him then and now, her golden pelt had at one stage had hung from her like it was ill-fitting. The emerald oculars that now sparkled with life had been sunken in and haunted by the memories that tortured her for so long, the shards of her once-shattered mind and the more recent images of Kop being captured by the humans. But now, she had grown taller and filled out again, her muscles filling her golden pelt so that it gleamed with life again. Her banner that had looked like a shrivelled wormy rag for a week had plumed again into a banner to match Drathlic's. And of course, her eyes were glittering emeralds.

The weight of Drathlic's oaw resting on ehr shoulder brought Renn back to the present and she smiled as he spoke. "We both disappeared, didn't we?" She growled steadily, her eyes shining. "I have been better. And you?"{/i] Saying this she leaned forward and touched her nose to his, bumping it affectionately before nipping his ear then drawing back, her ears pricked forward with interest as to what had happened to him.

[Silent]

The winter cold air had subsided into a warmer, more delightful breeze. Delighted with the harsh winter over, the lack of food and the near death of her drappa Fiory the silver adolsecent had ran across the mountainous terrain by herself. Growing comfotable with her place in the pack and her pack mates. But there was still a part in her body which felt empty, the missing of her friends. The one who had found her when she was a new kerl to the lands, the growing male who the youth had found feelings for. And the other, the other youth of the pack. With a hue of gold and eyes of an emerald sparkle, the one who had taken badly to her acceptence in the pack, but found comfort in the silver youth when her heart had been broken. Strangely enough Silent misse Renn, the stubborn ways, but still the feel of her golden coat against her silver.

Suddenly, whilst out on another exploration around the mountains of the listern terratory, a howl greeted her ears. A howl so familiar it had to be a fragment of her own imagination. No. She wasn't mistaken, the howl was from Drathlic, the one who she had grown fond of. And another howl followed, not far behind, and it was faintly familiar, the howl of the golden faemme Silent had grown friends with, it was Renn. Stopping briefly to take notice of the howls, making sure that it wasn't her imagination. Muscles powering her from a standstill, a blur of silver was all anyone may have seen if far away, but the running varg gliding over the rocky landscape, weaving between the trees which jutted out of the mountain side. Coming nearer to the two of her friends, she slowed and stopped behind the shelter of the trees, only just in the sight of the two varg before her. Golden eyes glittering with hapiness that she would see her friends again, though unsure of their response to her intruding upon their meeting. She hined softly and made her way softly and silently toward them...

[Drathlic]

The ruddy adult smiled softly and nodded lightly to Renn. They had indeed both disapeared - or at least, he knew he had...and with that he knew he hadn't seen Renn in at least a moon. Hearing her next words, Drathlic cocked his aud in curiosity and titled his head. Been better? Interested now in what had made this Renn's reply, he was all set to ask her when he decided against it. It could only cause trouble if he did, so instead he touched his nose to hers after she had playfully nipped his aud and smiled tenderly. "I've been great thanks. The kerl lands have been calling me out more, and I think that's been the real reason for my disapearance. I'm just a little resltess is all..." he sighed, feeling guilty now admitting to his restlessness. He loved the Listern lands, but now he felt that he'd explored them so thoroughly and so many times over now that he knew it 'too well'. He wanted to discover new things...and the scents of his old home before List were just forever changing and more enticing. Though he vowed never to leave List - it was his new found home and family...one to replace the family he lost.
Shaking these thoughts from his head, the sound of a near-by whine caught the ruddy male's attention and Drathlic looked past his golden pelted faemme to see the silver bodice of Silent slinking slowly towards the pair. His auds perked and he barked out happily to her, thick, brushy tassel wagging happily as he got to his paws. Encouraging her to come closer and to let her know that she wasn't unwanted. "Silent!" he grinned happily, licking his chops and giving Renn an excited lick on the muzzle. His two closest friends had heard his call, and now he was together with them again. He only hoped that Renn would not act the way she had on the day of Silent's coming...

[Renn]

Drathlic's words unsettled the golden faemme, and she stepped forward to nuzzle his neck, whining softly as if pleading with him to stay. Of course, Renn had done her fair share of wandering around in the Kerl lands, bumping into old friends, making new friends and stirring up rivalries - in particular with the fool, Desdimona - but in her heart she knew she could never leave List for the sake of living alone. Then again, Renn had said she would leave List to be with Kop, but that was whom she considered to be her true love. Maybe Drathlic missed his sister, Ilinga, the she-wolf who had looked after him and raised him from a cub to an adolescent, until he was called to List by his spirit. "Feeling restless is okay," She murmured, pulling back to look the ruddy Mann in the eye. "Just don't act on it." Breaking the eye contact and smiling, Renn allowed the familiar scent of Silent to tug her away from Drathlic and turn round to her newest friend. "It's good to see you, Silent," She called out to the silver furred faemme, forgetting that the last time Drathlic had seen them both together she ahd reacted with such hostility it seemed impossible to imagine them as friends. Even as she realised this, the Listern youth sensed Drathlic's wariness at having them both together at the same time. Laughing slightly, she turned her emerald orbs to him with a dashing smile, making ehrself look entirely innocent in an attempt of humour.

[Silent]

The silver body moved forth towards her friends, her ears resting back upon her skull as she pounced before them and bent down in a play bow to acknolage them both. It had been a while, a long time since she had seen them both, and she had longed to see them both once more. She had rememberred when she was first accepte dinto the listern lands, that the golden hued fae, the one dubbed Renn, had not taken lightly to the new silver youth who had befriended the growing Drathlic. But Silent had met Renn one snowy day, and had comforted the golden hued one, their friendship had grown. A whine of joy escaped her maw as she licked both of theirs happily.
"It has been along time Renn." She nudged playfully at the golden fae's neck gently, as if enviting into play, she then turned to Drathlic.
"And Drathlic! Its so good to see you again!" She licked the growing youth's maw and raised her paw to swipe at him playfully, a playful growl emmiting from her maw aswell. She was overjoyed to see them, to see themboth, especially Drathlic, even though Renn was her friend, she seemed to have secret strange feelings for the ruddy male.

[Drathlic]

The ruddy young male saw Renn's commical smile and he grinned softly, happy now that he was not going to be faced with the same situation as before. And as Silent approached, his proud banner swayed joyously from side to side as she bowed in a playful fashion and nipped and jabbed at both himself and Renn. Grinning broadly at her he realised jsut how much she had grown since the last time they had been together. She was still younger than he was, although now that she was reaching her full size, her long elegant legs and silvery summer pelt showed her sleek form and just how beautiful she was to become.
As Silent took a swipe at his muzzle, he leapt back and let out a plaful bark, his tail fully erect and tongue hanging, panting from his muzzle. "And good to see you again Silent. I see you've been doing well," he growled happily, taking a few steps forward before nipping at her muzzle and pulling back to swing his body round and collide with Renn in a playful push with his chest, forelegs pushing back so that only his ruddy chest could knock against her side - all in play of course.

The silver youth jumped backwards, her yips telling the whole story, she was happy to be with the two other varg. Her two friends, the only ones she ever had since Tadin was taken by the humans and she was banished from her own pack. She stopped in her tracks and looked at her friends, her head turned at a slight degree giving her a more puppyish look to her. She laughed and jumped straight at Drathlic, her eyes glittering with happiness that he was back, and that she could play with him and Renn without worrying that Renn dissaproved of her. Ever since that col winter day.

Landing half onto her friend Drathlic, she nipped gently at his ears and jumped off gently towards Renn. Shooting her muzzle around to gently crash into Renn's neck with a small "humph" and then a small wave of yips and barks to show how happy she really was to be with them, both. Her paws raising to bat lightly at Renn's shoulder to get her to play with them both, her rump was waving insanely with her tail sweeped the air with a long banner. Her golden eyes glittered more as she jumped away from them both and bowed on her fore-legs playfully, her banner stil sweeping the air as her tounge lolled from her mouth. More yips like a pup came from her maw as she looked at the two before her.

[Renn]

Yelping at Drathlic's surprise mock attack, Renn felt her legs go unsteady and she half-collapsed, gazing up at her ruddy friend as if to say 'what did I do?' Leaping up, the golden-furred faemme nipped Drathlic's aud, before jumping back - colliding with Silent. Instantly, the silver youth reacted by bumping her muzzle against Renn's neck, not enough to hurt yet enough to show she was still lively despite the fact that the great lump of Renn had crashed into her (lol). Laughing, Renn responded by boxing Silent lightly on the jaw with her forepaw, a smile lighting up ehr face as she danced away from ehr victim.

Using her advantage, Renn scooted backward past Drathlic, bumping his muzzle with ehrs s she did so until she faced them both, with neither behind her in the position to attack. It was great fun to play with ehr companions - great fun indeed. A time to embrace the last of you cubbish behaviour before you drop it all as an adult.

[Drathlic]

As Silent threw half ehr body weight onto him, Drathlic felt his legs quake beneath him before quickly steadying himself. She nipped playfully at his ear before swiftly dismounting and he threw back his head in attempt to catch her before she escaped but snappedat nothing but air. On bringing his muzzle back down, it soon clashed with that of Renn's and he let out a yip as he leapt back. Now all three faced one another, placed in an almost triangle shape.
Drathlic stood tall, his brushy banner held high and swaying joyously as his azure gaze met both the golden hues of Silent and the emerald orbs of Renn. Growling mischeviously he remained still for a second before jerking forward and lowering his chest to the ground and sprawling his forelegs out in front of him almsot in the same manenr as Silent had done. A sharp bark escaped his ruddy muzzle before he swiftly got to his paws again and ran full pelt towards Renn, aiming as though to crash into her but quickly veered past her and sharply turned to run at Silent - hoping for a fast game of 'chase'.

[Silent]

The silver youth watched as Renn and Drathlic's muzzle collied, she watched as he then bowed in the playful attitude and waited. She waited also, who was going to make the next move in the game? Surely it had to be him, for her and Renn had already attacked their friend with playful nips and yips. She watched hiom as he first looked into her own golden hued eyes, and then into Renn's emerald ones. She braced herself, ready to jump nimbly out of the way of his attack, when he started forth towards Renn, she relaxed, only slightly. As soon as he veered from his coarse toward Renn, he then headed straight for her own silvery body as fast as he could go. Yelping slightly in confusion, but then getting the message, she powered off with her strong hinds and left a small tyrail of dust for Drathlic to run into, she ran in a large circle before heading for Renn. Her ears perked joyously as she yipped and then put her head down to the ground slightly, skidding to a slight stop before she skidded into a tree trunk, the dust was remendous as the silver youth lay at its base and looked up at her friends who must have thought this hysterical. A small whimper of embarrassment emitted from her maw as she slowly rose to her paws and shook the damned dust from her pelt. She looked at her friends for sympathy, holding her front paw up because it hurt tremendously and the pad was bleeding ever so slightly.

[Renn]

Renn braced herself as Drathlic stared at her. His azure orbs moved from Silent's golden gaze to ehr own emerald pools, as if waiting to see if one of the faemme would attack. All three of them waited, as if frozen in time, only the soft rise and fall of their flanks and the occasional blink betraying that time had not stopped. Suddenly, Drathlic charged at full pelt toward Renn, focused entirely on her. Bracing herself for the inevitable impact, Renn stared back, defiant. It was a surprise when Drathlic veered off to Silent silver form, missing her by an inch as she realised what was happening and ran full circle. She aimed her snout at Renn and continued to run, yet, for some strange reason, her friend seemed to miss the golden-furred faemme and instead careered off into the trunk of a large tree.

Poor Silent emerged from the dust cloud, whimpering and holding ehr forepaw in the air, obviously in pain. Though beforehand it ahd been hysterical, Renn's features rearranged into sympathy and she padded forward to lick the already swelling paw. The salty tang of blood hit the roof of her mouth, and she pulled away, spluttering slightly at the bitterness. The wound was small, the flow of blood a mere trickle, but it was enough to shock Renn as she leaned in again to clean the wound. It would need to be treated to keep it from infection, but licking it was the best she could do so far.
