Moving purposefully through the forest the jet colored Varg let his green eyes wonder to the scenery around him. The thick tangle of trees and shubs were blocking out the Fenris's fiery blaze as it shone in the high sky above him, but Dakota didn't mind. He had never tolerated the heat very well anyway.
Tipping his black ears forward Dakota listened intently for any sound that would alert him to an appoching visiter. He wasn't perticularly hungry but he had to take any chance at food he could get. Traveling without a pack could provide many challanges, and often finding food was one of them.
Content that he heard nothing Dakota continues moving alonge the dirty path in front of him. Coming to a small clearing he stoped at the edge of the trees. Moving his large head from side to side he surveyed the area. Suddenly a swift breeze brough a strange but sweet smell to his nose.....
((Sorry, this is such a lame post. I have never started a thread before))

(It's perfectly fine!
Walking into the meadow, Cairo was unsure of what she would encounter so she kept all of her senses in high gear. The day was beautiful and the light of Fenris seemed to illuminate her creamy pelt, still thick from the harsh winter she'd spent outside of Transylvania. These were in fact her first steps into the new territory and she hoped she would find what she was seeking, the pack of Deor, lead by the Dragga Chalos Autumn. Cairo's auds were held high, along with her tail as she seemed to prance through the meadow, her one ice orb and one hazel orb taking in her surroundings. Transylvania seemed beautiful, unlike the horrible stories she had heard especially as a pup that this was once home to the horrible Wolfbane. Could it be true?
Not wanting to focus on such a morose topic she let her mind dance to the idea of her own pack, a pack without her mother and father as Dragga and Drappa, a pack full of new varg to befriend. A pack full of new mann-varg that she perhaps would be a mate of. Cairo couldn't help but think of such a thing, when all the mann-varg back home were simply her friends or relatives but not here. Here, there were no rules, just the open land before her. She was eager to meet the Deor pack and Chalos Autumn. Cairo had learned of each pack within Transylvania and after careful thought she chose Deor. It was a perfect match.
Content, she travelled on through the meadow, no expecting to come across any danger or even other lera. The land seemed so barren of life yet so alive at the same time. What an odd territory was this Transylvania. So many legends surrounded the area that Cairo was skeptical as to which were true or fallacies. Not a pup anymore she did not focus on such things, instead she lived for the day as well as her future in some ways. Afterall, every decision made on this day would affect her some where along the line.

Following the soft scent a little way Dakota's green eyes finally caught sight of the cream colored fae as she moved through the meadow. Tipping his dark ears forward he listened intently for any sound coming form the she-varg. Hearing nothing, he decied to move in a little closer.
Pulling his thick ebony tail high over his back the young male trotted forward. His large head was thrown high in the air and a bright smile was painted on his handsome jaws as he approched. Now getting a fuller taste of the she-varg's smell he began to analyze where she had come from. Here scent definatly wasn't from around here, and Dakota couldn't recall ever encountering this cream colored fae before. But at the same time her scent was wild and strong and Dakota couldn't help but take breath after breath of it.
Finally coming within a few feet of her Dakota studyed the fae intently before finally saying "I belive I have seen you around these parts before."....his voice grew higher as he spoke, turning the statement into a question for the she-wolf.

Suprised with the sudden appearance of the mann-varg before her, Cairo seemed to skid to a halt coming almost nose to nose with the deep shadow colored varg. She inhaled sharply in suprise, sending his scent rocketing through her. His handsome face with bright emerald orbs transfixed on her own mismatched ones caught her off guard. Composing herself she back away from his maw, smiling politely and feeling quite embarrassed at being caught off guard like that. She hadn't even heard or seen him approaching, she would have to be more alert in the new land. Cairo studied his shape as he spoke to her.
Lean, muscular build, with bright playfull eyes that were a stunning emerald color that she'd never before seen. Although she didn't have much room to talk about odd colored eyes. The varg had an extremely black pelt with a high curving tail, erect auds, and an active black nose. He couldn't have been older than her and if so, not by much. In fact his demeanor reminded her of her own in some ways. Finally she spoke a reply to his inquiry with a shy voice that was smooth and rich. "You must be mistaken. I've just come to this area and to Transylvania. I'm Cairo from the other side of the mountains. I'm seeking one of the packs here."
As if trained to speak in such a manner, she introduced herself after politely answering his question as well as finally stating her business to the area. In fact that was exactly how she was told to do so by her parents, the Dragga and Drappa of her last pack. Known for their friendly pack, her parents pack never seemed to be in trouble with other lera or varg. The 2 year old fae had never really encountered a hostile varg or any sort or had even been near a real fight. Cairo was at quite a disadvantage in the new land full of battling packs yet she would not know such things as of yet. For now she focused on the varg before her, awaiting a matching introduction as she thought was custom.

Dakota smiled lightly as Cairo's surprise crossed her pretty face. Up close Dakota couldn't help but stare at the fae's elegant build, and mix-matched eyes. Her light cream colored pelt was a new thing for him, all of his family had bore dark or grey coats. And since they were gone he haden't encountered many other varg as of late.
Watching her pretty face Dakota listened intently as she answered, her voice was smooth and plesant to listen too but his emerald eyes opened a little is surprise as she finished her answer. "Oh you'll have to excuse me", he said. "I ment to say I haven't seen you around here. Please forgive me" He was making an effort to be extra polite as Cairo was the first fae he had really encountered in a while.
"My name is Dakota", he addd. "Let me be one of the first to welcome you to these new lands. I myself am just wondering these parts as I currently own the position of a Kerl." Studing the fae Dakota couldn't help but wonder if this was perhaps her first venture out of home lands. While he was making an effort to be polite it was not always that way, and no matter how nice you were if you came in contact with the wrong varg then you were in trouble. Smiling agian he opened his strong jaws and let his light pick toung roll out. Procceding to pant lightly Dakota waited to see Cairo's reaction.

Cairo felt extremely pleased as well as confident with Dakota's honest remarks accompanied by his friendly demanor. It didn't hurt that he was handsome and around her age either. Feeling hope once more she disregarded her previous thoughts that the land of Transylvania was as terrible as legends alluded. She studied his actions carefully, feeling unsure of what to do next. The air continued to blow through her silken pelt at a calming rythem bringing along with it the scents of blooming trees, spring. Such an idea as the upcoming warm season sent her growing hopes, soaring out above the two varg. This new journey and life of hers might be the best thing to ever happen to her.
Sighing at such thoughts, quite contently, her odd orbs caught sight of Dakota as if suprised by his presence all over again. "Oh, why thank you for your warm welcome, Dakota." She hid her entrancing eyes behind her dainty eye lids for a moment, giving her tail a swish. Perking her auds up she stared deep into his emerald eyes, like rare gems amongst the sooted color of his pelt. "For now I too am a Kerl yet I hope to join the ranks Deor, under Chalos Autumn soon." Cairo seemed proud yet hesitant as well, wondering if she would be able to reach her destination before night fall. The prospect seemed grim.
Unsure of what to say next she eyed the cool stream at her paws, spotting a large fish traveling down stream. With unmatched precision she grasped the fish within her once gentle maw as if set on a timer to pounce. Squirming, the fish was placed on the ground at her paws, held down by one of them to prevent it from escaping. "I don't mean to be rude but my journey has left me quite hungry." Cairo smiled hoping Dakota wouldn't mind her quick decision or her inquiry to begin eating. She waited for his consent before taking even another glance at the slowly dying creature under her graceful paw. Instead she kept her eyes once more on his own, for that was how she was taught to read another varg.

Bowing his dark head Dakota showed respect and recognition at the name of the Deor pack and of their strong leader. "Thats a good pack", he said. "I am sure they will be happy to have you amoung their ranks." Tilting his head slightly he closed his bright eyes and just let the warm breeze wash over his body. Stirring the hairs of his jet colored pelt as it went. The sounds and smells that travled with the twirling wind remined Dakota of what time of year it was and of what season was approching. Spring. Packs would be having their cubs soon, and this breif though reminded Dakota of his own short childhood.
Opening his eyes agian he caught hold of Cairo's own bright set of mix-matched orbs. Though the trait was odd to see on the face of a varg Dakota couldn't help but notice that on Cairo they only added to the beauty of her face. "Your welcome", he replyed. "With all the legands that are floating around this place one must take any opperatunity he can to let new comers know that the land isn't all that terrible."
Surprised and impressed by Cairo's sudden quickness is catching the large fish Dakota watched intently as she brought carefully out of the water to lay at rest on the ground. Laughing softly at the way she kept one cream colored paw on the fish while adressing him Dakota answeres "No, by all means eat away. I myself have already finished a meal, but there is so reason why you should have to sit there hungry." Then not sure if he should leave and give Cairo her privacy or stay (as he wanted too) the young male settled for backing up a few feet and laying his heavy body on a soft patch of thick green grass. All the time watching and waiting for Cairo to devour her prize.

With a sparkle in her eyes she smiled back at Dakota, listening to what he had to say before slowly bowing her head to take a bite of the dead fish at her paws. Giving the cool, scales a tear of her canines she seemed to almost gently rip a piece of meat off, chewing it slowly and swallowing it in the most delicate of ways. Licking her maw, she was pleased with the taste as it entered her empty stomach, the wind reminding her how beautiful the day truely was. The thought left her wondering if her former pack as well as parents who lead them felt the same breeze that now ruffled her pelt so sweetly. Taking another bite she thought on the matter some more before replying to Dakota who now lay a bit further away.
Noting his behavior she wondered if he wished to leave or if she should cross the small stream with her meal and be closer to him. Finally deciding on the latter she picked the fish up with a smirk and bounded over the width of the stream quite easily, still managing to get her one back paw damp. Looking back at it almost in suprise she shook it off before padding closer to Dakota. She sat down once more, placing the fish down and then easing herself to a lying position before it, facing the obsidian varg with the glowing emerald orbs. Cairo took one more bite, which she consumed, then she spoke to him once more.
"I'm glad to hear the land isn't as horrible as some may assume. As for Deor, I hope your right." Cairo paused looking at his dark coat so accentuated by the grass surrounding him which also seemed to match his striking eyes. Her thoughts turned back on Deor she considered her entry as well as meeting with Chalos Autumn. What a magnificent day that would be. Taking a chance she said her next sentence with her eyes on her fish. "Are you headed for Deor as well?" She knew it was more of a hope than something she actually considered. Perhaps she was already beginning to feel lonely without her pack, surely it was foolish for her to insinuate they travel together to the lands of Deor. It could be dangerous, as she barely knew the varg before her but he did not seem to pose a threat. Cairo stilled her mind and awaited his reply.
(sorry for the delay in replying)

As Cairo dipped her head down to take the first bite of her kill Dakota couldn't help but notice the percision she used while eating. Every bite seemed to be carefully planned almost as if she was attempting to not make a mess of her prize. For a brief moment he almost felt ashamed as he thought back to his own grumsome meals. Often the young male would get so excited by the prospect of freah meat that he was tearing into his kills just as soon as they hit the ground. Then agian he though, one can always change their ways. Shaken from his thoughts Dakota wondered what Cairo was planning to do as she picked up the partaly consumed fish and made her way to the edge of the small stream that seperated them. Watching her carefully his eyes sparkled with admeration as she made the quick leap across the clear waters. As her creamy body streatched out in the full jumping position he marvled agian at her sleek and elegant figure. Coming to her landing Dakota laughed lightly as one of her paws skimed the clear surface of the water. Dakota's green eyes glinted in the sun's rays as he listened to Cairo's words. "Trust me.", he said. "I have a way of knowing these things. They will be happer the moment you enter their lands." He was speaking softly now, but his voice still had the same smooth, rich tone. Grining he tipped his black ears forward he listened as she asked her next question in a manner that made her seem as if he was speaking to the fish that she had once been feasting on. When her words were finished however, Dakota was caught a little off gard. He wanted to travle with the young fae, but he wasn;t sure about the desination in which they would be heading. Then agian he quickly reminded himself, I don't really have anywhere els to be at the moment. Making a quick decision he answered the she-wolf in front of him. "Yes, as a matter of fact I do happen to be heading in that direction." Being a Kerl did have one advantage he thought, not only does it leave him open to go where ever he pleased. But it also put you in the position that you were always searching for a pack. And at this moment that seemed to be just what he needed. ((Don't worry about it ))

Perking, not only her auds but almost her whole demeanor, Cairo seemed to glow in the light of Dakota's response. What were the chances that he too was headed for Deor? Sighing she smiled before taking another quick sliver of the her fish although her hunger seemed to have subsided with the exciting news spilling from the handsome ebony varg before her. Although suddenly she almost felt nervous at the thought of travelling with the mann-varg but she quickly overcame the fact, allowing her orbs to lock with his face once more. Feeling her heart quicken in pace, Cairo paused to regain her calm composure before attempting to say anything to Dakota for fear of sounding or appearing like a fool.
Getting to her feet, she seemed to do a slight dance, unable to stay in one spot as the excitement was obviously coursing through her. "I now know where to find the lands of Deor and Chalos Autumn. Another varg, by the name of Kai led me to his honorable Drappa Tarkah of Koran. It was there that I learned of its exact location" She spoke quite quickly, yet kept her focus on him as she did so, revealing the information as if it was a hidden treasure that should be kept secret to all but a few. In fact she had just came back into this same meadow that had lead her to meet Kai thus finding out where Deor lie. It just seemed as if luck was on Cairo's side in this new land called Transylvania that had formerly held only menacing tales from her puppyhood. Thinking of such things made her smile broader to herself as she muffled a chuckle at her storyteller's tales as her and her siblings yipped in fear.
Taking a step toward Dakota, now ignoring her fish she awaited his movement wanting to get going as soon as possible. Although not entirely necessary the young fae felt about ready to burst with energy coupled with her obvious anticipation of the whole event and recent situations. Cairo's cream fur seemed to sparkle like her eyes with her smooth movements, as she perked her auds toward Dakota hoping and waiting for whatever would come next.
(once again, sorry for the wait)

Smiling lightly Dakota let Cairo's excitment lift his own spirits. Now that his decision had been made to travle to the Deor packlands he was glad to have the fae's compainship. Catching her mix-matched eyes with his own shining orbs he let his smile widen across his strong muzzle.
Tipping his furry ears forward Dakota was startled by Cairo's words. "Ahh, Kai", he said quitely. "He is an honorable varg no doubt. I have travled with him myself..." Letting his words trail off as him mind became lost in memories. Kai had been his first encounter after losing his pack, and Dakota knew that he wouldn't have made it very far in life without the ebony varg's help. Shaking his head Dakota pushed his thoughts to the back of his head and brought him mind back to the present. "I am ready when you are.", he finally said. Despite the fact that he barely knew Cairo or anything about the pack for which they were now seeking the young male had always been a sucker for adventure and his heavy body was shaking with excitment and anticipation.
Standing up Dakota swung his black busy tail in a wide ark and lowered the front of his body into a sort of "play bow". He wanted to show Cairo that his excitment matched her own. Moving in quick bouny steps he moved around her. A few short barks escaped his blocky jaws as he urged the cream colored fae to make the next move.
((Sort of a crappy post, sorry about that.))

Dakota's excitement was intoxicating to Cairo's senses and it flooded her with adrenaline as well as happiness. His playful prancing accompanied by his pitched yaps sparked a smile across her maw from one end to the next like a domino effect. It rippled her beautiful fur in a smooth fashion, illuminating her already bright cream face with emotions. Her orbs were locked on her ebony 'partner' with such intensity that it seemed there was a flicker of good hearted mischief waiting to be released. It had been quite some time since she had tousled with another varg because as she grew so did her responsibility within her parent's pack. Dakota's handsome form before her kept her from reminiscing further about the past.
With the new electricity filling the atmosphere around them, Cairo pranced around a bit as well, whining excitedly she approached him with ears slightly back in respect and tail low, giving a quick lick to his lower maw to show how much she really did appreciate his acceptance to her offer. Not only were they most likely going to be pack mates now but they would perhaps gain a great relationship before they even met the others of Deor. After her brief show of gratitude she quickly trotted out before him, auds now perked and tail trailing behind her calmly. She looked back at his shadowy form with a look that could only be registered as a laugh that she knew the way and he did not however it was all in good fun.
Without waiting any longer she took off at the same quickened trot she had begun, her nose searching the slight breeze for any interesting scents and eyes scanning the broad meadow for any sudden movements. What a wonderful experience this would be or so she hoped. There was so much to learn about not only her newly found friend Dakota but about all of Transylvania. Her mind brimming with thoughts she managed to contain them until Dakota caught up or said something first. Afterall she did not wish to appear brash or be considered as nosey. In fact she thought her nose was just the right size!
(heheh. So cute!)

Dakota's smile only grew wider as he watched Cairo's excitement and enthusiasm grow with his own. He liked how the fae's bright smile only served to bring out more beauty and elegance in her face, and he was quick to notice how intense her gaze was as she watched him. Locking his own set of emerald orbs on the fae. All at once he spilled all of his emotions into his gaze. Everything seemed to come spilling out and shine in the green globs as he continued to watch his new found compainion. Although it probaly wasn't easy to detect Dakota was really showing Cairo all of his feelings at that one quick moment. Watching her playful face Dakota had the sudden urge to play like he used to pack when he was with his pack. To wrestle and romp just like the cubs did while their mother's watched them in the grassy fields. Although the thought inticed him the young male quickly pushed it to the back of his mind. Not only did he want to show Cairo that he was capable of acting like a grown up varg, but he also didn't know if it would be polite to tackle a lady.
Dakota's eyes widened in sudden surprise as Cairo approched him with such gratitude. As her warm pink tounge crossed his lower jaw he couldn't help but stand and saver the feeling that it brought to him. All too soon though it seemed, the cream colored fae was gone trotting off into the distance as she showed him the way that they would be traveling. Sprinting after her Dakota pumped his long dark legs across the path as he made his way twards her. One of the man-varg's best talents was running, so it didn't take much for him to reach the fae as she continued her quick trot. Butting her lightly in the sholder with his muzzle he let Cairo know that he was beside her now, waiting to be shown the way in this new and exciting adventure. Perhaps they would learn more of eachother soon, like where their pasts had taken them, and what had led them to the meadow today. Dakota didn't know what the future held, but he was ready for it.
((Awwwww!))

Cairo scrunched her face into a playfully smile, her eyes locking on the obsidian male's green ones that contrasted so handsomely with his coat. His nudge filled her warmth that also seemed to make her feel light and airy as they continued to travel along. The day was beautiful with Fenris high and bright yet not cruelly beating down with heat, there was a slight breeze that carried scents of the newly blooming spring and the sound of puntar were everywhere. Birds were flitting and singing as well as little critters scurrying and playing, it seemed so picturesque.
Cairo breathed in deeply as she let herself pant calmly, taking in the relaxing air which pushed her beautiful cream fur back. As they moved it rippled beneath her gorgeous coat in an artistic like rendering of a smooth stream much like the one they had met at. Her odd enchanting eyes dodged around trying to catch every inch of beauty they passed. After what seemed like hours she finally found the courage to say something to her travelling companion that would perhaps spark some conversation.
"So Dakota... what's your favorite thing to eat?" It was a simple inquiry that would show her interest in getting to know him and be useful when deciding what they should get for dinner later. Cairo couldn't help but laugh to herself at her puppy-like question that actually had her quite interested in Dakota. Perhaps he would find her rediculous in asking such a thing but that didn't stop her from trying to get him to open up about himself, otherwise it might be a long silent journey to Deor. This was her idea in the first place so maybe it was also her responsibility to break the ice even if it meant making herself look like a pup.
((they are too cute!))

Dakota quickly felt his body start to heat up. But in that sudden moment he wasn't sure if it was from Fenris's bright rays coming down on them, or from something els..... Taking a breath Dakota savored the taste of the fresh wild air as it breezed by them, causing the hairs of his dark pelt to stir together. Lifting his sleek dark muzzle a little higher into the air Dakota sniffed lightly. It was almost like he could smell the meadow's past. And in a way he could, his delicate nose picked up all the scents of past and present visiters, and as he perked his thick velvety ears foward they quickly filled with the sound of little lera hurring to get out of the two varg's way.
Turning to look at Cairo as they moved over the earth, Dakota was glad to see that she seemed to be enjoying the scenery. The young man-varg loved the forest, he would often sit for hours on end looking at the many things around him. Because of this it was often hard for his mind to forget any place he had ever visited. Yet as the ventured furthur down the parth Cairo had chosed the ebony wolf was sure he had never been this way before. Seeing the fae begin her light panting Dakota was promted to follow her lead, and he quicky opened his black jaws to allow the pink toung inside to roll out.
One of Dakota's ears quickly flicked to the side as the sound of the she-varg's voice shattered the add silance that had fallen between them. Thinking for a secound he replyed "Rabbit....a small target I know. But I ate alot of it because I was on my own at such a young age. So it made it easy to hone my hunting skills. How about you though? What do you like best?" The area they were now in seemed abundant in lera and Dakota was sure that whatever Cairo wanted could be easly found. Plus now that there were two of them they could take on larger prey with a greater chance of sucsess. As a team he though to himself. For the first time in a long time the adventurus male would have the company of another.
((I know, arn't they?!?!))
