[glow=000,2,000]Other: Everything dies, some fast, some slow.
It was a little unexpected that she would die like that though. It just seemed, wrong, that she died by falling. I'm glad that she won before she died though. She might not have thought that she won, but she defied fate, if not by the least. She knew what it was, she tried to change it. That is what matters.[/glow]

I cried my eyes out when that happened but I still love the book to peices. It would have been cute if she lived and got to stay with Kar though. they're both so cute.

I kinda got peeved that she chose to follow a predestined path that was set for her instead of choosing to defy it. She was given every possible chance to end the fight and escape with her life during the final bout but she through it all away just to make a point. Needless to say I was kinda ticked with her decision, mainly because of how it affected certain people that she left behind (Kar). It also kinda killed Skarth for me (though I didn't like him all that much to begin with) since it turns out he knew how everything was going to play out from the get go and did nothing to change it, I so hope he dies in the next book. Afterwards I was pretty much depressed for the better part of the week and spent the rest of my vacation contemplating on life. Still think it was a great book though.

I liked the death in FireBringer. The Sight did not have the same effect on me. I was kinda like "finally" when she died. FireBringer was a better book by DCD. Cause I can read that again, The Sight, I got very sick of, very quickly when I tried to reread it recently. So if I do end up rereading it so I get reminded of what went on before the second one comes out, I bet I'll be even more relieved when she dies.
Go on. Eat me for my blasphemy.

Ha ha! I must agree with Fennie...to a point. I wasn't glad when Larka died or anything but I was also like finally when she did. The whole story was building up to that and if you didn't realize that by the second chapter then you're the dee dee dee! The death that bothered me was Skop's. Yet I have no idea why. But I bawled like a baby

Yeah but Fell didn't die. He fell through the ice and was thought to be dead. Or did you not notice that when you got to chapter 16-The Sight?

Well for me when Larka died, I knew it was coming, but at the same time I was hoping she would somehow... not be dead. I guess? Because Fell lived. But her death had to be done in the end. *shrugs*

The first time I read the site I was in 5th or 6th grade, so I didn't really catch the wonderful morals it had to share and the psychological approach the whole book had, especially toward the end.
I think Larka's dying was a perfect representation. See, to counter Draeg, it was completely her choice, even though she knew she could defy it. It was a representation and example of selflessness and loving sacrifice. "The world doesn't revolve around you", "The Greater Good", ect. Deliciously bittersweet and thought-provoking. After reading the book I gave it a huge smile and big round of applause, and didn't cry a tear, for everything, even the sadness of loss, seemed so right.

I think the death that affected me the most was Brassa's and Fell's. They were both set-up so heart-jerkingly. The other deaths seemed too quickly overpassed and natural to really have time to mourn over. Kipcha's was pretty stirring, too.
All in all, I felt no real room for tears in the book. I whined and made sad faces, but that's the most. To me it's more a thinking page-turner that emotion inspiring.

Oh I loved Brassa, and when Fell finds her covered by some leaves..... =:[ Oh, that made me sad
I didn't like Fell much when he was a cub, he was a bit arrogant and bossy, and he picked on Kar, (I loved Kar's character!) But when he came back at the end, I loved him, and in the Fell book I did too.
Nah, Bran's was one of the sadest compared to Larka, his dying words were; "Tell the cubs I'm not a coward." And then he passes on a secret to Palla and dies. I think his death was quite touching <3 Also, why did The Balkar have to kill Tsinga? I really liked the mysteriousness of her character and how she worked.

Bran's death was very touching too, but for some reason it didn't have the same affect on me as Brassa's and Fell's did. I guess it was the fact that his parents would have to face the fact that, according to their belief, their son's (which it's horrid enough that they had to watch their son die before their eyes) soul would never find a resting place. It was more pining for the character's loss than anything. I have a tendency to do that.
Also, could we make spoilers for Fell and Firebringer clear from now on? I know this is a spoiler-ridden thread, and I've been carefully skimming, but I have yet to read the two, and really want to without knowing half the storyline. It's understandable if you want the board to be more free, however.
Whats up, grammar.
