Raven gazed deeply into the still waters, her on reflection staring back at her. Her eyes had almost glazed completely over, and she feared becoming blind soon. Her muzzle was sleek and her fur was clean, although she almost never took the time to groom her fur properly. "What have I become?" She murmured in the shadows of the forest as they yawned around herself, streching their limbs over the gaping river in the soft earth. "Why has Tor and Fenris cursed me with this... unspeakable age? It... it's..." Raven could no longer think of a word to describe her aging body.
As she sat there, muttering to herself beside the waters, a sense of peace and being overwhelmed herself.
She closed her white/yellowish eyes and sighed deeply to herself, her head nodding slowly as she sat. She slowly curled up beside the calmness of the stream, her mind drifting off into a slumber. She no longer cared to gaze upon herself in the pools of water which now became silent pools of deep, and unforgiving sorrow, all she wanted to do... was sleep...

Mayan wandered through the budding green, feeling the slight warmth in a cool wind. Her winter hair was shedding itself, and drifted from her body in a white cloud. Her new fur was bright and clean and stood in stark contrast with her latticework of black scars. Mayan's scarlet eyes glowed with new light as they surveyed the new season. She was making for the river that cut through the wood, but decided to take a roundabout route. After following the enticing scent of a hair for a few minutes, she was finally close enough to her destination to hear and smell the brisk waters. She hurried forward, eager for a drink after her long walk.
Mayan lapped at the cool waters eagerly, watching small fish dart in the calm eddies. Dipping a battered paw into the pool, she watched in amusement as they scattered. She was suprised by her own lightheartedness. Even Sharhan was complacent today. A hawk screeched defiance at the air, and Mayan watched as the powerful bird dove at some unseen meal far below. She inhaled deeply, and caught a scent emanating from just a little farther down the bank. She took off at a run, eager to find a friend.
Mayan came to a calmer stretch of river. There, near the shallows, was Raven. She and Mayan were friends and actually sisters, adopted children of Zephyr, but Mayan hadn't seen Raven in a long time. Now, she was startled by how... how old Raven looked, both in bady and mind. The other varg lay in slumber on the bank. Mayan approached slowly, not quite sure what to do. "Raven?" she said softly, "It's me, Mayan. Hello?"

Raven turned her muzzle to face the white varg, and in doing so a slight grin formed on Raven's face, her eyes shimmered with the happiness that an old friend had returned from the shadows, one she had almost become mother to. "Mayan, how could I forget? I almost became your mother." Raven's heart filled with joy as she gazed upon what a strong female Mayan had become, no longer the small pup with scars carassing her body--although most were still visable. "I see the days have treated you with care, Mayan, they have not been so kind to me, however." Raven's words were soft, her voice kind as it flowed through the air. She returned, however, to the sorrowful state of her dying age, her eyes turning back to the waters. "Yes, the days have turned against me, they have not been so forgiving as to give me strength. They only bring me weakness... and unforgiving age..." Raven spoke, her blinded eyes closing [ NOTE, Raven went blind in another thread, so she's blind now. :3 ], although it did not matter weither they were closed or not, she only saw black nothingness, this was another thing time had cursed her with--the curse of blindness...
// Sorry it took so long to reply, Mayan... :3 I just now remembered about this thread. xD //

A hawks screech teared through the skies and echoed deep in the forest. Krystal's gaze seem to fly upward in instinct. The flying putnar seem to be doing well for itself in her eyes, as she followed it's gracefull dive with her gaze until it disapeared behind the tall trees. The she-wolf continued onward. Hopefully the flying putnar had found a dead Lera, and it wouldn't be too difficult to scare the bird away and earn a free meal. As Krystal took in breath, she caught the scent of other Vargs, along with the sounds of running water. Maybe they all ready got to the meal. Krystal thought. Either way, she decided to investigate.
Krystal quietly padded onward until she reached a clearing. There, she spotted two Vargs by the edge of the river. One looked healthy, while the other appeared to be suffering from the affects of age. Deciding that they'ed probably rather be left alone, the she-wolf quietly padded toward the river's edge and began to quench her thirst. She soon pulled her muzzle back, and found herself stairing at her reflection on the water. Fernis' light gave her black fur a warm glow. Even through the traveling, Krystal had managed too stay in good condition.

Mayan was taken aback at first by Raven's sightless orbs, but had no trouble composing herself. After all, Zephyr had once looked at her with eyes just like those.... "Yes, Raven. I remember. That was one of the hardest choices I ever had to make. You were the first varg I met who ever showed me anything resembling love or kindness. However, I wanted the safety of a pack. I was too young to be a kerl. But now, here I am. A kerl once more." She smiled. "Your body may be ailing, but your spirit is still strong. I can see that beneath the film over your sight and deep down in your soul there still burns the radiant spirit of the proud kerl that I knew. Even if you cannot see it for yourself, I can, Raven." Suddenly, her ears rose. "There is someone here.... Hello?" Mayan saw a black varg looking at her reflection in the river not too far away. "Hello," Mayan called warily, "I am Mayan and this is my friend Raven."

Raven felt a sudden warmth inside her as Mayan spoke. She grinned happily, and laid down beside the bank, her tail wagging slowly as she turned to the waters, shimmering in the light of the sun--the light of Fenris. Her memories took her back to the day at the waterfall, the day when she was almost chosen to be the mother of Mayan, the memories did not torture her any longer, they soothed her, at least she still had a few happy, yet sad, memories.
Raven shook her muzzle and returned back the thoughts of the present, she had also noticed the newcommer's presence[sp], but she did not bother to speak, Mayan had already spoke for her, and she was fine with that. She turned her muzzle to where their auras were, Mayans was a deep red and the new commer's was a light blue, strange colours, but they did not bother the she-varg, they did not bother her at all...

(OOC: YAY!! I get to post! ^_^)
Mayan's cry brought Krystal back to her sences. Turning her gaze on the two she-vargs, she soon slowly padded in their direction. She soon faced the she-varg who had called to her, and sat. "Hello Mayan. I am Krystal Zanguzen. But most just call me Krystal." In Krystal's mind, she made a silent prayer to Tor that they would not know the true meaning of her last name. By now I must have traveled far enough. She thought. Her blue and green orbs turned to Mayan's companion, and very quickly noticed the gray that covered the old she-varg's optics. Krystal lowered her own gaze. Not knowing what too say, the she-varg tried to strike up a quick conversation. "Mayan, Raven, do you two often come to this river? I am a Kerl and a wanderer(sp), so it is my first time in these lands."

"Nice to meet you, Krystal. I cannot speak for Raven, but I will say that I am not a frequent visitor. I do not enjoy looking at my reflection." The black scars on her muzzle were distorted as she smiled and her scarlet eyes gave off a warm glow. Suddenly, her face changed. "Zanguzen? I remember that name from my childhood. I grew up in the mountains to the east. Is that where you hail from? I wish I could place that name. Zanguzen..." For some reason chills shot up and down her spine when that name passed her lips. ((Eep! Bad post! ))

A little red hued pup looked out between the reeds where the river seemed to have taken some its wrath to create a pond like enviornemnt. Nahma remberd her home and the marshland made her think of her pack."Mother! Father I`m here!" The little puppy seemed to bolt all around the little muddy pond, tail wagging, eyes big, yipping and whimpering with glee."Brother!Sisters! Come play with Me!" After some time, she rolled over and lied down, tired from running in circles and confused. "Why are you hiding?" she asked and placed her nose in the mud."I miss you" she rolled on her belly and curled up, feeling like she did something bad and she turned her head towards the trees. "Where are they?" she seemed to ask the large pines but they did not respond and only silence met her ears.

It was the moment the young she-wolf (a little over a year is still young right? ^_^) had dreaded. Maybe I didn't travel far enough after all. She thought. With a half hearted smile she spoke. "Yes my birthplace is in the eastern lands. Though, I wouldn't know why my last name would spawn any kind of memory." Krystal sighed. She knew she had to change the subject quickly. "If it is ok to ask," Krystal began, "how did you get those scars?" Krystal knew she was being too foward with her question, but it would certainly get Mayan's mind off the subject. Krystal's attention was suddenly diverted towards a little ball of fluff running up and down a short distance away. "Is that one yours?" Krystal asked out of instinct.

((You're perfectly fine. )) Mayan was bit taken aback at Krystal's question. Now Mayan knew the varg was hiding something. However, Krystal didn't seem dangerous, so Mayan let it slide and answered her query. "How did I get these? I am not as I appear. I, Mayan, am but one half of two that lives in this body. The other side, Sharhan, lives only for destruction. Before I was able to harness Sharhan effectively, she fought many senseless battles with this body. After the fight, she reopened even the smallest wound. Next, she took hot ash and soot-sometimes even from human campfires-and rubbed it into the cuts. They became permanent black scars. As for my eyes, they used to be blue. But as Sharhan slowly consumes me from the inside out, they have turned as red as blood. They give off heat, too. When Sharhan gains control of our body, if you dared reach your paw close to our eye, you would be burned. Also, I am a Seer and can discern names and unguarded secrets by looking in a varg's eyes" Mayan smiled, the grin distorting the black lines on her muzzle. She did not mean to make Krystal uncomfortable; she was merely stating the facts. Her gaze shifted to the pup on the bank. "No, I have never seen her before. Little one, do you need help?"

Nahma ran around the small pond until she slowed to a walk and looked up at the two she-vargs. They seemed nice enough and Nahma looked up, sad, lonely and confused with her voice squeaky."I can`t find my mother" She looked down and flopped her bottom on the ground."I wish i was a sparrow"she said weakly

((Even though we've already RPd together, Nahma, how about we just pretend we don't know each other. It'll make things easier. )) Mayan felt her heart go out to the pup. "You can't find your mama, little one? Well, where do you live? Perhaps we could help." She looked around at the other two vargs, hoping they would agree. Mayan desperately wanted pull Raven out of her lethargy and depression, and even though her eyes were useless, her other senses could be uselful. In the brief lull, Mayan's thoughts went back to Krystal Zanguzen. Something was niggling at her, waiting to come to the surface. She kept it on the edge of her thoughts; it would emerge when it was ready.

A split personality and a seer... Krystal thought. For a moment, the she-wolf pondered the concept. Krystal remembered her father telling stories of how seers' can fortell the future of other Vargs. But Mayan is young. Krystal thought. My father once said that Seers' are usually old by the time they've mastered the gift of foresight. Suddenly, a realization came over the young Varg.
If Mayan was a seer, then perhaps she all ready knew of Krystal's origin. But Mayan mentioned something else that was even more intruiging (sp) to Krystal. This other half that she spoke of. Krystal couldn't recall ever hearing that name, and wanted to learn more about Mayan's other side. At the moment however, it didn't matter. There were more urgent matters to attend to.
"How long have you been seperated from your mother?" Krystal asked the pup. Her ice blue and green eyes shimmered with concern for the young life. "What is your name? Are you hungry?" Krystal asked.

Nahma snorted and sat down, she looked at the older vargs and she held her muzzle high with a smile. I`m Nahma of the famous Ruskota Agonigiekanokan Nahrumari Pack"she siad it all in one breath and smiled at herself."My Mommy is leader and he coat is red as the sun`s setting rays and eyes as bright as a harvest moon. My father is a dark wolf and his eyes are that of a pale sun rise" she said happily, tail wagging and then she lowered her head and whimpered."I wanted to play outside and my siblings wouldn`t follow me"she snorted and roled her eyes"So I,being the dauntless one, ran out, but I slipped and fell. Mommy said don`t play near the river because it over flows in spirng time and then i fell. Now I don`t know where I`m am" in grammer was off but being so young and hurried through her little speech she rolledover and panted, looking to the sky.
