The late evening sun still illuminated the valley of Koran with its burning shafts of dying light. A far horizon was streaked with crimson hues and bruised with indigo and black as the deepening night split from the twilight shadows and pierced the flesh of the day. Clouds painted the sky and faint lights speckled the sky, all in the presence of a dying star. The towering treetops were silhouette against the fading glow of Fenris's snarl, and even the mountains were a misty black, jetting out of the earth like slumbering giants. As the night began to overtake the sun, furious rays of glittering gold displayed a bold triumph that the sun would indeed return. Or perhaps it was a final closing to the end of the earth, beautiful yet powerful. The chilly breezes of the night had not yet set in as the lera began to fade into their own quiet sleep, not to awaken until the following sunrise. Yet one creature awaited not for the awake of another day as he continued his agonizing stumble threading through the trees. Today was yesterday, yesterday was tomorrow, tomorrow was today, everything remained the same. Circles, miles. Everything spun in a confusing whirl before the once bold, confident eyes of a lone putnar. He didn't bother to raise his slender cranium to the soft hoot of an owl; he hardly flicked an ear as a rabbit squeaked from a nearby bush and swiftly kicked to its hole. When the familiar scents wafted to his deserving muzzle, he didn't even raise his snout to gaze hopefully ahead. The black coat was coarse and unkempt, the body gaunt and weak, proud eyes misting with pain and confusion. Kadin, a lost varg padded back to the home he had regretfully wandered from. Kadin blinked with slight surprise when he the scents seemed so foreign yet familiar in some peculiar way. He couldn't separate one from the other, and didn't even bother to try to analyze each for a certain varg he had been padding home for. The sting of her memory pained him internally, and he flinched from an invisible burden. She had been what he had come home for, she was what had kept him from giving in. She was home. For a moment the black varg stood on the border of Koran, his mind meandering back to the past. His eyes clouded over further until he was truly glaring into what was instead of what is. The wolf sighed and continued his wary journey. Images raced along like the ground beneath his paws. I would be leaving soon, on a hunt for my pack. I left them, left them for a silly hunt out of our border just to seek more game. I should have checked the territory first. I should have known that their herds are untouchable. I was so stupid! Kadin growled deeply as he thought again of why he had left. A black varg, swift, strong and happy. He had all he could want in life. Kadin stepped over the boundary confidently, without hesitation or second thought. He would be back soon, not longer than two suns. It was a long journey, but he was filled with spirit and curiosity at the unexplained beyond. The breeze fluttered through the trees and the leaves whispered mournfully at its calling. Unconsciously, Kadin shivered in his travel-thinned coat. Pads were worn thin, he should have never left. Now he had paid, with half of a bloodied shaft a few inches from his side, the rest chewed away, and a swollen paw. Suddenly, the varg tripped and fell. Struggling for a brief moment, Kadin sighed and remained where he was, his thoughts traveling instead, to she that had carried him this far, and what would carry him all the way... //I can't believe it... Koran! Long post, have fun reading it all //

The sky was darkening to a dark bluish veil that shrouded the lands. Stars began to poke their faces out of the heavens, twinkling faintly. A full and fat moon, round as the sun, sailed above the earth, casting a cold, silver blanket of light. Indeed, it was a beautiful night. Cool, with a cold wind breezing it's way through the territory, carrying the sweet scents of summer with it.
Here, high in the mountains surrounding the valley, lay a dark hued she-varg. It was her favorite place, looking down on the territory from the stony outcrop. She had discovered this place last summer, after she had been made Second Drappa of Koran. Here, she had an amazingly beautiful view of the whole pack land. She could see Fenris's dying light, casting an amber glow in the west, sinking in the bowl of the valley. Above her was the moon and stars, shining like diamonds in the dark.
Phantom sighed, shivering slightly. Again, like so many other nights, she found herself lost in her memories. Even though she was young and strong, she felt old. She felt as if she had seen too much. Lost too much. She was the heir to Koran, yes, but what for? She felt alone, even abandoned at times. Roseki had died long ago. Bryr had gone off to lead Ge-Rad. And Snowy was busy with his healing duties and family. And he had vanished long, long ago.
Once again an image flashed before her mind's eye, an image that had haunted her like a demon since her last visit to Mayan, the Seer. It was of Kadin, running from Man, and then dying at a riverbank. She felt sick whenever she thought of his fate. But there was no chance of his return. If his wounds were as bad as Mayan had said, Kadin couldn't have survived the unusually brutal winter that had fallen on them two seasons ago.
She sighed again, and turned away from the great expanse of land before her. Making her way down the mountainside, Phantom began singing softly to herself.
"Now you're gone I wonder why you left me here I think about it on and on and on and on and on again I know you're never coming back I hope that you can hear me I'm waiting to hear from you Until I do...
Now she felt her eyes begin to burn, but she had no more tears left to cry. They had dried months ago, refused to fall. Even if he never returned, she'd meet him in Tor's forest, along with her brother, her parents, and her old friends. She'd see them again when she died.
"I'll meet you there No matter where life takes me to I'll meet you there And even if I need you here I'll meet you there..."
She was on the border now, the strong, familiar Koran scent markings made her nose wrinkle. She sighed again, scenting no intruders. Everything was perfectly sound. Phantom turned back, away from the border, toward the densite.
Then the wind shifted.
Her eyes suddenly pricked. She had caught a scent of another varg, a male. It was somewhat familiar, but very faintly. Phantom stuck up her tail, growling. Any intruder who didn't ask Tratto's Blessing would be questioned and, possibly, punished. She sniffed the breeze. The trace was coming from the west.
Phantom broke into a run, her paws springing, he thorn-sharp claws diving into the earthen floor as she sprinted to the western boundary. Finally, she began to slow her pace as she scent became sharper. Phantom came to a complete stop as her yellow eyes caught a black, furry form, laying motionless beneath the trees.
She wondered who this wolf was, her eyes narrowing as she tried to give him identity. Then she saw the chewed arrow in his side. Her whole body went ridged. She began to shake uncontrollably.
"When I prophesied his death, all I Saw was him lying bleeding on a river bank with an arrow in his flank. He could have recovered..."
Mayan's words flashed through her mind. Her eyes began to burn. Everything hurt...Everything inside her was screaming. Screaming his name. The name of the varg that she had loved more than life, the varg she had pined for all these months. It was him. Kadin.
In a fraction of a second, she leapt toward him, tears pouring from her eyes. Her first tears in a long time. Finally, after what seemed like hours, she reached his motionless form. "Kadin!" she said, half screaming, half crying. "Oh God! Kadin!"
She looked at him, dread filling her heart. His eyes were closed, and, because of the wind, she couldn't tell if he was breathing. "Oh please, no..." Phantom gazed in horror at his battered and bloody form. She licked his closed eyelids, her tears falling onto his face. Then she lay down beside him, trying to give him warmth. "Please Kadin...wake up, please... I love you..."
Damn...that was long. My paws hurt...

[glow=gold,2,300]Silence. That was the first noise that the young wolf cub noticed. He raised his head, and realized that his mother was gone, yet again. She frequently left, to go cry alone for a while. But... tonight was different. Tonight, he wanted to know where she was.
Spectre padded out, his little head poking out from the comfy den he had been laying in. His tail swished quietly, as he snuck out, his nose snuffing the scent of his mother, as he tried to find her.
He soon found her, crying over a wolf's form. Hetilted his head to one side, and nudged the wolf shape. "Mommy? Who is this?" [/glow]

She heard a small voice, a voice that gave her both comfort and fear. It was her son, Spectre. Phantom sat up quickly, sniffled, and looked down at her cub. It was more clear to her than ever now. Except for his eyes and the splashesof brown, Spectre looked just like his father.
"Spectre," she whispered. Was the pup ready to hear this? "He...he's your father. Come here, Spectre." She nuzzled the pup closer to her, licking his little nose. Phantom looked back towards Kadin's torn body. She could see his flank rising with faint breaths. She turned back to her cub. "He's unconscious, but he's still alive. Once he wakes up, we have to pull that arrow out of his side." She remembered when she had been shot by two of the human's arrows. Pulling them out was very painful. Hopefully Kadin's wound was'nt infected.
She looked at Spectre again. It wasn't fair. He shouldn't see his father like this. "We'll have to wait for the others to come...I just pray that we're not too late."
Very very very bad post....

wow... long Phantom... It felt like forever until the darkness of relief began to fade away like a thick fog retreating from the heart of the forest. When Kadin could see, everything was confusing and startled the young varg. He was running swiftly, dread filling his thoughts and mind. When he had last been looking at anything it was a familiar forest with the scents of Koran surrounding him like a blanket of comfort. Now, he was in foreign ground again, but it held some sort of meaning to Kadin. As the sounds began to form into realistic noises, the black putnar realized where he was. The angry, shouts of mean erupted into Kadin's ears, and the vibrations of their mounts shook his paws until he almost felt sick with the rumbling quakes of their hooves. It was a nightmare, a point in time replaying over and over again in his mind. He remembered this particular moment in his past with dread.
With a twist, the black varg temporarily disappeared from their view as he turned sharply behind a broad tree, racing through unfamiliar forests with only the earth to guide him. His pursuers hardly faltered as the wolf turned, kicking their steeds with rage of the varg's attempts to flee from their grasp. Death was snapping at Kadin, snarling with bitter hatred. The horses were quicker than the wolf, and his stamina was beginning to dwindle. It wouldn't be long until the men would be upon him. A sudden jerk and blinding pain made Kadin trip and land hard on the forest floor. The air rushed from his lungs. For a moment, Kadin remained where he was, paralyzed by the fall and searing arrow that had struck his flank. Trying desperately to remain conscious of what was happening, Kadin could hear the hoof beats of the horses stop and the slow crunch of the men's feet upon the ground. They were drawing near. Images flashed through Kadin's head, his friends, family. A home. And an image remained, Phantom. He had promised he'd always be there, and he would keep that promise to the ends of the earth.
Struggling to his paws, Kadin lunged at the men. In a motion of surprise, they faltered and Kadin swiftly fled through the forest, leaving the men to curse at their lost prize. After many hours, the young varg could be found at a painstakingly slow trot, head low as he watched the ground pass beneath his heavy paws. Instinct provided him the coordinates back to the den, back to Koran. Yet Kadin's mind still clouded over with doubt. To keep his mind from the pain, and from the weary miles he would have to travel, Phantom reappeared in his thoughts. He remembered her, he tried to think about the rest of the pack he had waiting. His home. For a while he padded on like this, lost in memories and thoughts. It wasn't long until he came to a river, stretching before him with water to quench his thirst. Yet the steep bank caught him off balance, and he lurched forward onto the soft bank. He remained where he lay, not bothering to shift positions, letting himself drift in and out of dreams...Kadin shuddered, his journey playing slowly in his brain. The crisp breeze of the night, though soothing it was for his pain, did nothing for Kadin's own comfort. Phantom's sudden warmth shook his memories, until he felt himself reawaken from whatever reality had performed in his mind. Slowly, his eyes peeled open and the golden orbs locked onto a beautiful, familiar face. "Phantom.... is it, where am I?" He blinked. "I've missed you, and I love you." His voice faded, remote and distant to himself. Then another voice caught his ears. Of the mouth of a youth. Dreams had become reality over the travels, though he tilted his ears forward with surprise that another varg would share this dream.

Spectre stepped back, looking at the bigger male. "Father?" He said, incredulous. "He's still..." He trotted over again, and cruled up next to the bigger wolf, and somewhere, in his mind, a dream, an old one, surfaced to his mind. "You arent allowed to die." he barked at Kadin. "Cause you only just got here... so... you cant die." he growled and nudged the big wolfs side.
He stopped, scratched at the dirt by his fathers side, and curled up, resolving not to move from that spot, not until Kadin got up and was ok.

ooc: I noticed, thanks Spectre. The ebon wolf looked at his son. Phantom had said it, and so had this pup. For a moment, he felt like he had slipped into the wolf path somewhere within his travels. He was back to Koran, Phantom was next to him, and so was his son. Kadin wanted to howl, to run. The nightmare was over, it was fading. His journey was finished. For a moment he just smiled weakly at the two, his pain forgotten; the months of wandering had been worth it, just to come home and see his family again. He turned his radiant eyes to his son, watching the young pup with pride. "My son...." He whispered. But the pain would not leave him so soon, and a shudder ran down his spine. Amber eyes glazed over. Shaking his head, Kadin sighed. The pack... what had become of everything while he had been away? He was curious, yet the dread of something awful loomed over his head, and the pain prevented his question to be voiced. For the moment, he lay where he was, at least glad to be in the company of his mate and son, even if this was the end, he had seen them and felt their presence. //Crappy post //

Tarkah's tred was soft and lethargic as she meandered through the koran lands, without much on her mind. Her midn was left with shallow thoughts . She didn't care about much anymore. Here most recent pups she had disbanded, true she loved them but her heart had pushed them away when her mate had left her once more. Tarkah gave a grudd growl and pushed on, whipping her muzzle to the left to push away the branch that lay in her path.
Tarkah trekked forwards enjoying the summer air when a scent lingered her nasals. It struck familairity but Tarkah could not recognize it. With a manacing growl Tarkah lurched forwards towards the scent. Her fleet paws carried her wuick and swift towards the Koran borders as her hackls bristled with dominance and threat. She stopped upon a high ridge, lookign down towardsthe bordering lands. A low rumble escaped her throat as she looked around her surroundings to see if anything was out of place.
Tarkha paused liftign her muzzle into the air and scentign the winds. Again the scent if the varg flowed. With it she also scented Phantom and her pup Spectre. Her tail began to wag at the thought of them as she ease up and slid down the ridge , her claws digging into the soft dirt to hold her balance.
Tarkah slipepd throughthr vegetatopn and her golden orbs scanned the clearign and fell onto a dark she varg. Tarkah noted her as Phantom. Her eys then moved down to a young wolfling. Spectre. And next to the stranger. Tarkah hissed as she looekd st him. He was a male and he was lying here in Koran lands. Why? Tarkah wondered. She listened on when she heard Spectre speak. Father.
Tarkah blinked. Why had Spectre called him father? Tarkah was confused. She looekd to the male again and gasped. Suddenly the image of a small black pup ran throug her mind, then she saw phantom's yong image and then a white pup by the name of Snow and beside Snow her own son Bryrpaw.. Tarkah gasped. "Kadin" she whispered to herself. But he was dead was he not?
Tarkah sighed and smiled warmly. Phantom snowwolf and kadin had become somewhat of cubs to her before she had had her own litter. But surely this could no be him? But here he was layign right before her eyes. Tarkah pushed through the leaves and padded towards the young family Tarkah dipped her muzzle to Kadin. "Kadin?" she said and looked up to Phantom. The scent of the varg was no longer stranger to her and she recognized the scent as if a great gap of time had just been filled.
Tarkah smiled, "Kadin, how we have missed you" she said but then barked in astonishment when she saw the arrow. He was injured. With a whine Tarkah padded over to where the arrow protruded. She looked to Phantom and smiled a greetign but her facade became serious again, "Alright, we need to get his arrow out now!" she said and padded ot Kadin and licked him gently on his muzzle. She then padded back to the arrow and looekd to see how she could go about removing it. Tarkah whined as she saw the crimson blood that matted Kadin's soft black fur.

Sorry for the long wait, guys Phantom had closed her eyes, silently praying for her mate. Then, she heard his voice...
"Phantom....where am I?"
Her eyes flew open, and she found herself looking into another pair of eyes, pure gold, pouring love, yet clouded in pain. A pair of eyes she had longed to see for so long. Then she noticed Spectre. The pup had curled himself up against his father. Tears began to fall from her yellow optics once again, but these where different. They were tears of joy and relief. For a moment, Phantom wondered if she was dreaming. It was amazing... A family, her family, had been reunited at last.
"Kadin!" She nuzzled him fondly, kissed his face. "Oh, God...I thought you were dead..." Phantom looked at him again. It was clear that Kadin couldn't walk any further. He whispered something to Spectre, and gave a massive shudder. His eyes became glazed and cloudy. Phantom gave a small gasp. Whether it was by pure instinct, or the love that they shared, she knew what he was thinking. "Listen to me. You're not going to die, do you hear? We won't let you..."
Suddenly, a white Drappa was at the scene. "Tarkah! Thank Tor, you've come!" She watched as Tarkah's gaze fixed on the arrow. She winced again. It would be very painful, but...
"Tarkah, let me." She padded back to the wound and licked the flesh around the arrow. In her travels, Phantom had learned a few things about healing, and she knew how to take care of this. She began talking to Kadin, softly. "Kadin, we have to get the arrow out. "It'll hurt, but we need to to it..."
She clamed her teeth around the chewed remains of the wooden arrow. She caught a faint and disgusting trace of Man, his hands working on a branch that would bring swift death. Phantom suddenly recalled the joke she had made during Spectre's birth. "I wish Kadin were here so I could torture him for doing this to me." Though she hadn't meant it seriously, she felt ashamed now.
"Allright, here we go, Kadin...now." With a jerk of her head, and all the strength she could muster, she pulled the arrow from his side. Phantom dropped the evil man-thing, and kicked it away. Without saying why, she dashed into the trees, looking for a special herb that Snowy had showed her once. She detected it by scent, pulled it up, and carried it back to Kadin.
"Here, this will help," she said, pulling the leaves off the plant stem and collecting them in her mouth. "I don't really remember what this is called, but it'll help with the pain, and the wound will heal faster." She chewed the leaves into a paste, then, very gently, licked it onto Kadin's arrow wound. "We should get him back to the den. It's not safe here."

Post by André on Jun 27, 2005 21:33:23 GMT -5
It was hard with one eye. André would have told anyvarg about it up-front. There were a lot of things that were just about impossible with only a single orb, and fishing was sure one of them. André growled and forced a smile as a graying red paw slapped the water before him in a gesture of frustration. His scarred and aging reflection rippled then disappeared momentarily. The Dragga sat on his haunches and raised his muzzle to the sky. The single eye closed against the sun. The second eye ached with pain in the sunlight. André didn’t flinch. His stupid eye had decided to take a hike: a hike along the blade of a human's sword. The red varg sighed, and fell to a laying position.
Dark grass waved in the evening light like shimmering spirits, dancing submerged in crimson water. A dandelion gone to seed stood erect in front of André's nose. The varg puffed from his nostrils and the thing stalk bent as small ivory seeds flew into the wind. The summer was warm, and the light felt good against André's back, but his heart was cold. Issues whirled through his heart and his head, chilling his very blood to a state of dark pinesap. André had returned to his pack to find it falling apart, and to find his mate shutting him out. The summer was hot, and food was scarce. There had been new births, but it seemed as though the pups hardly knew what a good pack structure was supposed to look like. The Dragga's heart yearned for the days when he and Tarkah had just began Koran, and the territory had thrived with happiness and laughter. Memories of the early pack-members danced in his mind the way the dandelion seeds had in the wind. Images of Ice and Uki flashed before his closed eye with brilliance. Snowwolf sat in a corner of his mind smiling back at him. The deceased Roseki too grinned, from a further corner. André could see Phantom and the late Kadin together in loving harmony on a grassy knoll. It seemed so wrong that André had outlived vargs younger than he, who would one day, have inherited Koran had they lived. A low whimper escaped André’s closed maw.
It had been André’s plan to pass Koran along to Phantom and Kadin, but alas, the humans had murdered Kadin. Then the varg had wished to pass the pack to his first son, Bryrpaw, and his mate Talla. But they had left to become the alphas of Ge-Rad. André felt somewhat like a king with no heir. Of course Tarkah would like to have given the pack to Demon, whom André strongly hated, but he would have died before allowing it. Nothing seemed to work the way it was supposed to.
Slowly, on aging joints, André stood, and opened his eye. The light had faded to an even more lustrous hue of red from the dying sun. With a lowered head, the Dragga padded away from the river and towards the Koran borders for his nightly patrol. A lazy breeze blew in the undergrowth around him as he walked towards the marked borders.
The flora parted willingly enough to the Dragga, though a thorn poked his ribs every now and then. But nature’s thorns and knives were nothing like the knives of humans. André looked down at his fore-left foot, and the wide scar that banded it just above his mangled pad. No hair grew on said flesh, just as the paw had never returned to its former state after the bones had been broken by a human's trap. André pushed the thought away with some effort as he reminded himself of his vow. The red Dragga had promised himself not to speak to anyvarg of his travels fighting the two-legged monsters, nor the pain they had caused him, which angered him into such a rage. He included himself in that promise.
The forest widened into a trail where André met the path he traveled nearly every night since his return a few weeks ago. His nose lowered to the ground and he began to sniff for places where the scent of Koran was thing when he smelled a group of wolves not to far from where he stood at that moment. The red varg stood fully, and extended his neck, thrusting his nose into the wind. Black nostrils flared as they tasted the air. André could pick out Tarkah from the group easily, and Phantom. Vaguely, André recalled the third scent, that of a pup. The name Spectre crept into his mind, and André confirmed it and shrugged it away, analyzing the fourth scent. There was an underlying touch of Koran in it, though it was somehow unfamiliar to him. And then André smelled blood, and his feet were set into motion. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong.
André broke through the foliage as he ran, until he came to the edge of a small clearing with a large oak standing in the center. Beneath the tree lay a gray varg, and the three other he had scented. very faintly André could hear their conversation. "Kadin! Oh, God...I thought you were dead..." "Listen to me. You're not going to die, do you hear? We won't let you..." "Kadin, how we have missed you" "Alright, we need to get his arrow out now!" "Tarkah! Thank Tor, you've come!" "Tarkah, let me. Kadin, we have to get the arrow out. It'll hurt, but we need to do it... alright, here we go, Kadin...now."
The wind shifted, and the voices were lost for a moment as Phantom left the clearing for a moment, then returned bearing a small herb. Again, André heard the voices, and he craned his neck forward to hear well.
"We should get him back to the den. It's not safe here."
André sat, and ran all that he had observed through his mind, until he struck on the arrow. The humans had shot Kadin after all. André stifled a growl as hatred arose deep within his heart. Slowly, the Dragga stood and walked into the clearing, thoughts racing through his head.
"Kadin.... You've returned." André stuttered, and closed his eye as though concentrating on an issue to be remembered. His face was void of emotion, though his mind swirled with emotions ranging from hate, to joy, anger, relief, confusion, and even fatherly instinct at the sight of the two vargs he had first met as young pups reunited. In a business-like manner, the Dragga spoke again. "You should not have removed that arrow here. He will bleed more than you have ever seen, and I doubt your herb can do much for that." A crueler varg would have smiled at the last comment. A nicer varg would have not said it at all. André’s face remained like stone, and his tone monotonous. "We'll need to get him back to the dens as fast as we can, or we'll risk losing him just as he has returned." The Dragga kneeled, and gestured for Tarkah and Phantom to help Kadin onto his shoulders. "I'll carry him if you'll allow it. I'm not eager to see a very good and missed friend of mine die beneath a tree on the outskirts of our borders." André forced a smile, though it disintegrated rapidly, and his lip quivered slightly.
A single emerald eye watered and threatened to tear.
Wow. I got carried away with that post. *hides from length*

(unliek mr. andre this post is goign to be sucky!)
Tarkah blinked, she could hardly belieeve it was Kadin, but by Phantom's words she knew it was really the long lost male. Tail swished with joy, old memories resurfacing but broken by the whine from Phantom. Tarkah shook her muzzle and padded towards the arrow, it looked sickening as it protruded from the varg's flank.
Tarkah gasped, "Be careful with it!" she said, she was worried on how Phantom was about to pull it out. It would pain Kadin if she intended to rip it out from his flesh with one tug. a tremor shook tarkah as she padded forward, But noticed Phantom had already wrapped her jaws around the broken weapon. Tarkah flattened her ears and barked, "Phantom wait!" she said but it was too late. she pulled and fro mthe force she had used threw her backwards.
Tarkah whined and padded forwards, "It's goign to bleed even more"Tarkah whined and padded forwards and licked the fur that was soaked from the blood by his wound. Tarkah winced, her nose wrinkoing for the blood of varg was sour and bitter to Tarkah, She stepped back for Phantom as she came back with a herb to help stop the bleeding, Tarkah whined "That won't be enough to stop the flow" she said, her tail pressed against her leg in worry.
But the sound of rustling ripped her attention away from Kadin. She turned her head to see Andre. A cold glare was brought his way as she looekd at him giving him an "Oh its You" look. She turned her head awa yfrom him. though she craved fo his love, Tarkah was a stubborn varg.
Turning her head away from him she padded to the oother side of Kadin. Though her golden orbs could not help but gaze at him. A hidden smile was etched on her maw as she starred at him in a mindless state. His next words brought her back to reality s Tarkah turned her head to Kadin. A stuborn as she was she looked to Andre, "We can do this ourselves," she turned hr head, "we've done it many times when you were not here" she said with a whip of her tail, but she regreted sayign that. She truly did not mean her words.
Turnign she growled, "Well if your goign to help then come over, closer to Kadin" she said and looekd to Phantom.

There she was. As the sunlight streaked into the den Snow watched his mother's white pelt glisten like the dew on a crisp morning. Snowwolf got up and watched his mother's stomach rise and fall softly. As he walked away he remembered the night that his father's life had been taken by man. Snow was so preoccupied that he tripped on a rock and with a small thud, he fell to the ground. He heard gentle sturring and saw that he had awoken his sister, Chicte. She streaked over to him and they quietly left the cave, so as not to awaken their mother and two siblings. As they played in the snow they heard two gunshots and they rushed back to the cave. Snow's mother and his little brother were gone leaving his little sister Lily, who quickly rushed over to them.
Snowwolf quickly awoke. He felt the warm sweat trickle toward his eyes. Although, the liquid was not sweat but tears. Snowwolf brushed them off and looked over to his family. The cave fave them full shelter and he looked at the four stomachs rising and falling gently. Snow padded quietly out of the cave and was greeted by the crisp night air. His watchful eyes scanned the mountains before him. As he watched he saw a strange sight. A white wolf quickly rushing across the far landscape. He recognized the familiar scent as that of Tarkah. Something must have happened! I must follow her! He thought
Snowwolf rushed in her direction following her scent wherever it lead. As he came down into a clearing he saw a limp form lying on the ground. In normal times his reaction would be joyful and full of gladness. But his reaction was mixed because not only was Kadin back, but there was a large gash on his body, and a bloddy arrow lying on the ground.

Her blue tinted coat shined under the dying light. Her pelt streaked red, painted bu the falling sun as it settled behind the distant mountains. The she-wolf padded forward, her steps barley making a sound as she moved through the Koran territories. Barley any prints or evidence of her passing could be seen. Her tail swayed in the same rhythm, back and forth, and her emerald optics stared ahead. There was a strange blankness in them, very strange for the usually lively Fae. But past events had changed her. Kahuri wondered aimlessly. Weaving past the trees, picking her way gingerly over the leaves. A gentle breeze played kindly with her fur, the gentle wisps of wind carried many scents upon it. She raised her muzzle to it, inhaling the refreshing air. A mixture of pine, the musty smell of dirt, and another brushed her nares, wolves. but she did not panic for they were all familiar. However someone else was there. She guessed a dragga, though who could this be? Her pace quickened, Kahuri swiftly glided across the ground. Soon she was in a sprint, bounding the direction her nose led her in. The she-wolf noticed the hue of blood in the air, that someone may be wounded. Her hackles shimmered nervously as she approached the small party. Phantom, Tarkah, Snowwolf, Spectre and Andre. Who could bring them all together like this? Bt as she came closer hesitantly her eyes fell upon an ebon Varg.
Something jolted in her. Impossible! Kadin. The name hit her like a slap across the muzzle. He was dead, wasn't he? All these years Phantom had mourned over him, but he was never dead? A wave of confusion came over Kahuri. She had first seen him when she had first joined this pack. he was practically a newborn then! He was the first to greet her when she arrived. She stared at him blankly. Blinking once or twice. She stepped into view, suddenly she could make out the fresh wound, blood seeping out of it in steady streams. The sun suddenly vanished into the horizon. But the wolf's eye adjusted swiftly to the darkness. Finally she found she voice and spoke, still awed by Kadin's unexpected appearance. "Phantom, W-what's wrong?" Kahuri didn't know what else to say for her mind still was left in a jumble of thoughts.

The ebony varg winced as he felt the sting of the arrow removed from his side. He suddenly began to feel dizzy, and growled, shaking his head to try and rid himself of the sickening feeling that was beginning to overwhelm him. Suddenly, the foliage parted to reveal his Drappa Tarkah. He couldn't quite make out what she and Phantom were conversing about, but he was at least glad to see another familiar muzzle after months of wandering alone.
Kadin watched wearily as the vargs of his pack began to appear from the gloom of the shadows, creeping along as the night thickened. He remembered his Dragga well, but there seemed to be a new distance between him and Tarkah, almost strained as if they wanted that gorge between them to suddenly vanish. Then, Snow came from the foliage, and Kadin grinned at his friend, head spinning. Another wolf suddenly materialized out of the bushes. The one he had known as Kahuri, who he had been the first to greet as she had entered their pack boundaries. He looked at the vargs beginning to fill the clearing and blinked to know all these faces of his pack.

Phantom bit a few more leaves off the herb and placed them on Kadin's arrow wound. "You'd be surprised at what this little herb can do, Andre." she said, nearly amused. "Snowy used it on me when I was shot by humans, do you remember? First it numbs the pain, then it stops the bleeding a bit."
Her ears pricked as two more friends appeared, Kahuri and Snowy. "He's been shot. Kahuri, can you help me get Kadin onto Andre's back?" She gave a sad smile to the Dragga, thankful that he was here.
Short... brain dead...
