Sorry for the day late debate, but my Monday was really complicated. So this week we'll have a not so complicated topic. Lots of members use music to get their ideas up and flowing. Typing up a post while listening to a song is a very common practice for many of us. So this week, our topic shall be...
Which genre of music best gets muse in high gear?
Different genre's work for different people. There are far to many to poll so I'll just leave the poll out this time around. But if you have one or more genre's of music you listen to while typing up a post, feel free to comment on them, and why that genre works best for you!
Enjoy ^^

which genre huh?
Well it depends on what type of mood i'm in but usually I'm listening to metal. It inspires me most. Although if I wanna type a calm type of post then I'll probably be listening to classical music just because i'm like that.

Well, it sort of depends on my mood, I guess...Just rock and emo music. No rap. Or any other retarded stuff like that. The All-American Rejects are great, and so is Boys Like Girls, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Used, Relient K....well, you get the picture. For me, as long as they have a good voice (and are rockish) they're fine. As for songs, and not just bands....Hmmm...I'd have to say some of my favorites (ones I listen to on most days) are probably "Helena" by My Chemical Romance, "Stab My Back" by The All-American Rejects....well, there's a bunch, lol. ;D

Wow. Lots of MCR and AAR.
It all depends on my mood. I listen to everything. Rap. Emo. Rock. Classical. Country. Hip-hop. Opera. 80s. Ska. Indie. Alternative Rock. Metal.
The only things that I never listen to are any kind of speed metal, and most scream-o. (I do a bit of Disturbed or Korn here or there...)
Right now, for my posts, I've been listening to Dave Matthew's Band, Coldplay, Blur, ATC, and Aesop Rock.

Hello,is this private? If not, then I would say Panic! At The Disco(old panic, not new panic)is great muse, and Paramore and... Linkin Park! Valentine's Day can inspire a one-shot or a poem or a whole story! Pretty much the whole rock genre is an inspiration.

There are a couple for me, but what stands out in my mind: the blues. There's nothing more soulful than some Stevie Ray Vaughan or BB King. It's good for creativity...there's even happy blues! Doesn't just have to stimulate creativity for writing/drawing sad scenes.
I need a little variety too though, haha. My second favorite is instrumental in nature, and usually covers classical, jazz, and world. Also, love opera for muse music.

Muse is the best band for muse! (no pun intended, Muse is a great band that requires ponderment on the intertextual meanings, etc.) My favorite songs of theirs are Take a Bow, Starlight, etc.

I'd say OceanLab, because their songs are great for muse.
