Q: I have done virtually everything to get an Avatar on my profile but it wont work. It is a picture of Larka on DeviantART.com. Can you help? If the URL is not right then try right clicking the pic, go to 'properties' and it should have the URL code there. PM me if you need further help.

You get a wide pic that you like. A good place to add writing and such is www.BannerFans.com or www.BannerMaker.com banner maker has an add for their site on the bottom of your banner. Bannerfans is the best website, You just cant add alot of extra things like animations. Once your done on the website click GET CODE then check the URL and it will give you the code. Copy the code into your signature box and your good to go PM me if you need further help, ill be glad to help anyone who needs it!

Can someone help me... neither my signature, nor avatar is showing up! I have tried all the steps and did them correctly countless times! but all that shows up after modifying is an x-ed out box saying [avatar], so i dont know if i have to wait a while or what.. so if someone would gladly pm me or something i would be soooo happy!

I guess you fixed your siggie?
for your avatar go to modify profile > scroll down and you'll see "Avator URL"
paste the image location there.
also some sites dont let you link to their images, so best is to save it, host it with sites like photobucket and voila!
just makesure theres no copyright issues =)

how do you know if a thread is locked or not because I was trying to hit post reply on some of the RPs and it wouldn't let me. I noticed that where it said post reply it was white which i guess means its locked but is there a way to tell without going in the thread.

If the thread has that locked folder icon in the furthest left column of the board, then the thread is locked :)

Lykos - on some of the boards we have a set amount as to how many characters we want you to post before you can hit the 'post' button. This amount is roughly 200 characters (letters etc) so as soon as you reach that the button will light up again for you to post.
It is to encourage people to post lengthy replies and such instead of simple one or two liners. Hope that helps.

One of the things that I do first after creating a character and joining an RP, is to just start an open thread somewhere. There's also the "Need Someone To RP With" thread located in the Out of the Woods board (you can post a link to your newly made open thread or just request that someone send you a PM if they are interested in helping you get started). Also, try to see if you can find an open thread that wasn't made too long ago (as this place has been slow lately and might not have many with people who have been checking the site).

Manka: BT is right, it is rather slow right now, and there are only a couple open threads at the moment. A friend and I have one you are welcome to join! you can find it by clicking here. As for advice, don't post in the packs! But there is the Play Area, where you can make a new thread, get to know more people and get into the swing of things here. Or if you want you can jump right into one the other areas. River, Cave, Meadow, ect. That would be my advice.

Just because you post doesn't mean that you're earning posting points. In order to join a pack you need to make twenty "in character" posts. This means that you have to role-play in the actual RP boards, not just post in the OOC areas. So if you want the count to go up you can post in the Play Area board - which is great for new members, the Waterfall and Lake, the River, the Forest, the Valley, the Mountains... etc. However boards like the Out of the Woods and Art boards are set to not allow for post count to rise.
