As Dakota spoke to Cairo she inhaled deeply to catch his scent, reminding herself of what his essence was made of. She knew that it would never leave her memory now which comforted her in ways she did not understand at the moment. Shrugging off the thought she focused on his reply as well as matching inquiry. His answer seemed so cute to her although she would not say so because it was a true curse to even slightly insinuate such an adjective toward something a he-varg adored. That in itself made her laugh a little again, her eyes full of warmth and affection. Getting to know Dakota washed her over with excitement. He was such a handsome varg too.
Oh, his question. After pondering it a moment she finally answered with a cofident tone as if she was unsure until he had asked her. "Fish. I love fish!" Cairo acted as if the word itself satisfied her hunger as she smiled widely her moving rythmically with her breathing. She let her eyes slide over to Dakota's muscular form waiting to see his reaction as she spoke some more to him. "Okay, it's your turn." Cairo paused knowing he would most likely not understand but wanting to draw out the lame non-existent suspense. "We can take turns asking questions to get to know one another." She let the corners of her mouth curl up in a smile, satisfied with her idea. "But you have to answer wether your being asked or asking the question so we don't have to keep repeating. Get it?"
Wagging her tail a bit she kept her mismatched orbs on Dakota as if an excited pup wondering what their parents will say next. Her pace still felt airy and she kept her auds rotating, catching the sounds of the small lera scampering about.

Glancing over in Cairo's direction the ebony he-wolf watched as the fae's speech caused her elegant features to change. He liked how pretty she was, and her sleek cream colored body. But he also basked in the fact that she appeared to also have a good mind. Dakota couldn'r see himself spending any amount of time with someone who couldn't protisipate in an intelligent convorsation. Taking a deep breath his inhailed her sweet scent once more, and let the breeze that carried it wash over him.
Without warning a light laugh escaped his dark lips at Cairo's suddon outburst about her love of fish. Quickly recovering himself Dakota swivled his thick ears in her direction to catch the rest of her voice. Nodding in understanding he said "Ok, sounds good to me." Taking a moment to think up a question he finally asked, "Where were your home lands?" It was an easy enough questions, and it would serve as a double purpose. With her answer Dakota would be slowly easing her closer to reviealing more about her past. "I came from the area that is coverd by the stone castle. You know the one in the legands? Not to worry though, those legands were far before my time."
As he waited for the she-wolf's response Dakota pulled his thick tail into a high arc over his broad back. He could feel a suddon happyer feeling coming over him, and was now totally convinced that it couldn't just be the cool wild air causing it. Taking another deep breath he continued to savor Cairo's sweet scent while following her down the path.

Cairo couldn't contain her curiousity as Dakota spoke of the castle of Wolfbane where he had grown up. Her mismatched orbs were wide with amazement as she almost stopped in her tracks before continuing, listening to what he said. So the legends were true or no? She was unsure but she didn't really feel like ruining the moment with puppy-like inquiries of the past, besides he said it was before his time. She finally focused back on the orginal question, satisfied that he had decided to play along as well as asking about her past. Cairo too let her tail curl up over her back gingerly as she walked on in a bouncy gait. Licking her maw she cleared her throat before telling Dakota about herself.
"Well I was born on the other side of the mountains outside of Transylvania. My parents were the Dragga and Drappa of the pack and I was the only pup. After I grew up I wanted to join a pack that didn't know me or my family so I left for Transylvania. I just arrived her not too long ago, yet I know of all the packs and what they stand for so I chose Deor. Then I met you, Dak." She held a glimmer of affection in her eyes as she glanced at Dakota with a smile on her maw as she tested out her new nickname for him.
She continued her panting as they kept moving, her auds still testing every position they could rotate to catch the sounds of the forest lera. After a moment or two she spoke again as if realizing it was her turn. "Right! So... do you have a mate?" She said it so confidently yet inside she was nervous to ask such a question even though she had to know the answer. "We both know that one was going to come up eventually so let's just knock the awkward one out of the way." She gave a little laugh to lighten the mood especially her knotted up stomach. Cairo could barely believe herself that she had the nerve to ask the handsome ebony varg that question. "I... I don't. Although my parents wanted me to be with this one varg from a nieghboring pack..." She stopped as if she was embarrassed or upset by the situation she began.

After he asked Cairo his question Dakota quitely waited for her answer. While he was waiting though his mind began to think about the old legands that he had just spoken of. The stories had always interested him greatly, even as a cub. He could remember that during his short childhood he had taken any chance he had to ask someone about the history of the land that they had lived on. In fact the stories still regularly crossed his mind, such as when he was crossing a river....it always brought back memeories of varg that died by water and supposedly would never find rest. Coming back to reality Dakota turned his head to catch all of what Cairo was saying. He has known from her smell and from what she had said when they first met that she wasn't from around here. But it was still interesting to hear about her exact whereabouts, and of some of the reason that caused her to leave. The end of her sentance caused his eyes to open a little wider is soft surprise. Dak?!?! he thought to himself. He verg had never had a nickname before....except for when his mom had used to call him Koty. Decieding that he liked the sound of Cairo's new name for him he let a smooth smile cross his face, and he was quick to flash it in Cairo's direction. Walking along a few more feet he was agian startled but the fae's suddon remembrance that it was her turn in the new game. Even more so he was surprised by her question. Laughing a little nervously he cleared his throat and answered "No, I don't. I lost my pack when I was still a young cub, so I never got the chance to get paired up with anyone...."Letting his words trail a little at the end he finally added "I wasn't too excited about having my mate picked for me anyway." With the ending of his answered Dakota wondered if Cairo knew about all the new thoughts she had suddenly stired up in the mann-varg's mind. Not wanting her to notice he acted as normal as possible and asked "Whats your favorite season of the year?" Silently cursing himself for asking what was sure to register as the dumbest question ever to come into exsitance. ((Check out my new avitar Apparently Dakota can't keep himself out of the snow ^^))

Excited to see Dak's reaction to his new nickname she gave her tail a quick wag while listening intently to everything he said, walking while still keeping her eyes locked on his. Something about him just was so interesting to Cairo so that she couldn't help but focus totally on him even as she did so she tripped yet quickly recovered with much embarrassment. Hopefully he hadn't noticed her slight slip of the paw yet she knew he most likely did. Something else caught her attention though as he flashed his charming smile that seemed to glow from his dark pelt. His smile seemed to hold a hint of something else that made her stomach flutter for a moment before she made herself simply focus back on his words.
Cairo was thinking of the mate that Dak could have been paired with and the tragedy that must have befallen the handsome varg for him to loose his pack at such a young age. It was a depressing thought so she quickly passed it by the best she could in order to answer his inquiry. "I would have to say summer! I love the warmth of Fenris and the bright greens everywhere. Summer just seems so peaceful." She took a deep breath as if scenting the not too distant summer that would inevitably follow the newly arrived spring. "Oh, wait! You didn't answer what your favorite is. Don't try and cheat Dak!" She teased him giving a playful snap in his direction as well as adding a little skip to her step as she smiled playfully.
"Although it is still my turn!" Cairo thought trying to come up with a good question to ask Dakota. Still she watched him as they travelled on together, slightly slowing so that they were closer to walking side by side instead of her leading the way. This way she would be less prone to tripping again too! "Exactly how old are you?" She asked with squinted eyes as if trying to read the answer straight from his facial expression. She had supposed they were around the same age but it was better to be certain rather than guess. Hopefully he wasn't too much younger because she wasn't sure she would be comfortable with that. Cairo felt as if she was holding her breath while awaiting his answer.

Laughing deeply Dakota flashed an even bigger grin at the creamy fae. His teeth glinted and flashed in Fenris's bright sun...it almost gave him a weird crazed look. Or at least thats what he thought. Quickly pulling his velvety lips over the ivory fangs he spoke "Now why would I want to cheat! The question of one's favorite season is only the most sacred of things a varg could ask, right?!?! But even so, since I like you so much I will share the secret with you, my favorite season is autumn! I love the smell of the rain and leaves, and the beautiful colors that cover the land." He couldn't keep his voice from bubbling over with a little extra laughter, not as his jokes but at the sheer fun of traveling with the fae. The ebony wolf couldn't remember the last time he had had so much fun.
Twisting his ears to catch Cairo's words Dakota let them process to his mind. "Now now...", he asked. "Didn't your mama ever teach you not to ask such things?" He was only teasing of course, it had no intention of keeping his age from the she-wolf. "I am about two or two and a half. Give or take a few months." Squinting back at her he suddenly remembered "Hey arn't you breaking your own rules?? Where is your age?!?" Dakota had never thought about the she-wolf's age, although now that the subject had been broughten up it interested him. How old exaclty was this fae that he had already grown so attached too?

Cairo joined in with his laughter, her eyes squinting as she did so which then accompanied another short tail wagging. She seemed to fall into his words as he described his feelings about autumn making her almost wish that it was indeed that month so she could simply watch how happy it made him. For a moment she could picture her and Dakota together forever and it scared her yet also excited her. Trying to not concentrate on the idea she shot him a glare as he called her out on her own game. "I can't break the rules I made AND my mom taught me everything and never once did she mention that asking a varg's age was rude unless they were visibly beyond their years!" The long winded answer was followed with her sticking her tongue out at him the best a varg could in fact do.
Satisfied with her words she turned and pranced forward a bit ahead of Dakota pretending to be mad at him. Cairo held her head up high, her eyes closed and auds back as if she were pouting yet also parading herself as better than he. Slowly a smile crept across her maw as she let herself giggle at how silly she was being, wondering if she managed to make Dak wonder if she was really mad at him for a moment. Slowing to be at his side again she let her auds return to their normal erect stance as she spoke to him again in her same playful voice.
"I'm two years old also!" She seemed so excited yet she tried to contain it the best she could for fear of looking pathetic to him. Once more Cairo let her mind race trying to decide on a question to ask her obsidian partner. Taking longer than expected she couldn't seem to think of a question. "Uhmm... I can't think of anything..." She said it in an exasperated manner but then added a little laugh to the end. Her ear twitched catching the sound of a bird moving in the trees which she serached for with her beautiful eyes to no avail.

Dakota's ebony ears twiched and swivled on his head as he strained to catch every one of Cairo's words. He liked the sound that their two voices made as the swirled and mingled together in the clear air...seeming to rise on above the tree tops. He could almost feel himself floating up there with them, looking down on the happy varg below. Catching her glare in his direction Dakota only winked one emerald orb at her and girnned as a long winded speach spilled from her jaws. When she was finished and procceded to stick her pink tounge out in his face Dakota did all he could to keep himself from dying of laughter....but it was no use, the big male was soon rolling in the thick grass; his stomach rumbling as his deep voice filled the air with loud boutes of laughter.
When he finally managed to get control over himself Dakota lifted his heavy head off of the grassy earth and peered over at Cairo as she moved a little ways away from him. She was pouting....or at least pretending to. Pulling himself back onto his feet he quickly trotted over to her just as she was slowing to get into position back at his side....or was he at her side?
The mann-varg's bright green eyes sparkled as his compainion annonced her age in a excited voice. Perfect he thought silently to himself. "Its my turn to ask the question anyway.", he said grinning. "I just haven't done it yet." Thinking to himself he prayed for his mind to come up with a better question than his last on. "Hmmm, well I guess I will ask if you had any siblings. I didn't, I was an only pup....not that it mattered I wasn't really with my family long enough for it to have an effect on whether or not I had other pups to play with. But that not the point, did you have any brothers and sisters?" He smiled agian, hiding some of the emotion that had suddenly flooded onto his handsome face. He wanted desperatly to forget his past...but it was proving harder that he had originally thought.
