Kacia slowed her pace so she could look into Dane's bi-colored orbs that so intrigued her. After a moment she turned her attention back to the path ahead of her. His words sunk in, permeating her being. Beautiful? That is one word she had never heard used to describe anything about her let alone her name. Letting her ears ease into their erect position she replied.
"Not the word usually chosen. Thanks." She felt awkward showing gratitude toward such a small gesture especially because of the way she just behaved, Dane would surely think her mad. It bothered her although she would not show it. "I don't fear you although I'm quite sure the fae pup melted the snow beneath her haunches."
Kacia smiled at the thought revealing her white teeth in Tor's light before they disappeared once more in her grey maw as she swished her tail in thought. The wind seemed to be dying down although the snow fell faster spreading along her black pelt like a blanket. She twitched her 'injured' ear to listen for any more intruders as well as flicked her nose to scent them. So far nothing but the distant smell of herla which fired her insides to hunt. For now she refrained from doing so.
Unable to find the words to say anything else to Dane she continued on in silence slowing her pace to a walk, the snow now crunching beneath her paws.

The she-wolf seemed to be contemplating his words. She struck Dane as one who did not often receive compliments, although he felt she deserved them. He himself was looked down upon, not only for being a kerl, but for having his trademark nasty attitude. A sigh escaped his maw and coiled around his face before falling in line behind him.
His ear twitched at the sound of Kacia's voice. Letting a kind smile grace his maw momentarily, he replied, "You're welcome." An answer short and sweet, his rarely seen smile once again faded. He was not confused by her change of attitude, seeing as how quickly his mood had changed from apathetic, to anger, and finally, to a state one might refer to as contentment. His throat emitted a chuckle at her remark regarding the young pup. "You have not yet given me a reason to make you fear me, congratulations," the tone in which he spoke was sarcastic, but inside, he really was both happy and surprised at how well they were getting along thusfar. He couldn't wait to see how their conversation would continue.
He paused for a moment to shake the quickly collecting snow from his coat, causing the white fluff to form a temporary cloud around his form before he continued walking. Nostrils flared as he caught the familiar scent of herla, though it was quite deluded. The thought of food made his stomache do backflips as he fought the urge to salivate. The first thing his father had taught him during his hunting lesson, Never go after prey you can't handle, especially if you're alone. The familiar voice of his father echoed in his mind, bringing with it a flood of memories which he quickly washed away. He had never gone after a herla, for he knew it was unwise. Many a varg had dies trying to go after prey they thought they could take alone, before finding that the herla they assumed was sick, could actually do a great deal of damage with its antlers. However, right now, he was not alone. He had Kacia, perhaps she was hungry as he was? He wondered if she could hunt, and soon vocalized his silent question. "Do you know how to hunt?" He didn't realize how stupid this question sounded until it left his maw. If she was a kerl, she had to hunt for herself. He awaited the reply that would probably be injected with sarcasm, for he knew that was how he would reply if posed with such an empty-minded question.

Enjoying the sound of his voice, company, remarks, and slight laugh she too began to feel the comfort of contentment. His abrupt as well as rediculous question made her stop dead in her tracks with a slight smirk spreading across her maw that looked almost creepy in Tor's light. "I've tried once but decided that I prefer grazing." Her sarcastic reply left a glint in her eye as she twitched her ears then shook her pelt free of snow.
Without awaiting Dane's reaction she began to walk along again scenting the air for the exact position of the herla which she knew they would soon be hunting. Pleased with his attempted suggestion at doing such as her own stomach began to growl with famine. The excitement of a hunt made her feel warmer against the snow filled air accompanied by the lighter touch of her paws to the ground below her. She happened to be a quite good hunter although she must admit she was a better fighter.
Kacia slightly turned off the path toward the scent of the herla when she stopped again seeing the herd in the distant open plain, grazing on the shoot of grass able to defeat the falling snow. Licking her maw in anticipation she lowered her self to the ground in case a straggler saw her and awaited Dane to accompany her. She breathed in increasing speed, melting the snow in front of her. Before she knew it she would have the warm meat within her maw, then stomach. The kill would be made.

A smile crossed his muzzle again at her witty reply. Kacia had an attitude to match his own, something he had never found in another varg. Maybe that's why he found it so easy to talk to her? For the first time, he actually wanted to speak with someone...It left an odd feeling in his heart...what was it? Warmth? Yes, this was definitely going to be an encounter worth remembering.
The smell of the now nearby herla left his senses even more alert than before. Driven by hunger, he felt as if he could take on the whole herd, but he remained level-headed after reminding himself of his father's near-to-last words. His black bushy tail twitched in anticipation of the hunt as he crouched low next to Kacia, his heavy body beginning to melt to hard snow beneath him. Although he was a formidable hunter, he had never before went after herla, and didn't now how the outcome of this attempt would be. Hopefully, he wouldn't get too over-eager and mess everything up, especially in front of Kacia. What was he thinking? He was Dane, every bit of him nonchalant to the last hair on his coat- he had nothing to worry about.
His two-toned gaze shifted to the side to look at the femme, his voice was a hushed whisper as he spoke, but did not hide his excitement. "What's our plan?" Kacia looked like she knew what she was doing and she could practically taste the herla in her mouth...but Dane was not so optimistic. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he was new at this, and would need the help of another.

Confident for the attack she was suprised that Dane didn't seem experienced with taking down herla but then again he was a kerl and she had come from a pack. An all male pack at that! Once more she licked her maw, seeming to ignore Dane's question as she stared at the herla greedily. Finally Kacia turned her attention to Dane, staring into his mesmerising eyes.
"I will spook the herla, letting instinct separate the weak from the group. Once you see that opening get the herla secluded from the rest. I'll be over right after to help bring it down."
She explained as if he had done it before not wanting to insult his pride in any way. If he had any questions or hesitations it was up to him to ask. Kacia was hoping that with his strong build that there would be no problems. Hopefully his wit would also keep him from the haphazard antlers or hooves. Seeing him get injured or killed would quite dampen her spirits at least.
Slowly she inched forward, eyes back on the herla as fiery Fenris began to break light upon the newly fallen snow which had now ceased. The bright light shone on the herla as the breeze whistled by keeping her scent hidden. Stopping to observe the herd again she glanced back to Dane giving a slight nod before she continued, his last chance for questions. Kacia hoped he was ready for the best kill of his life!

Listening intently, he was sure to take in every word as if it was a matter of life or death. Mismatched eyes stared deeply into the femme's almond gaze as her sweet voice filled his ears. After she had finished, he looked out at the herd, in his mind trying to pick out the weakest one- the one he would go after. It didn't seem too hard, he was built for hunts like this, not rabbits and badgers like he was used to catching. All he had to do was pinpoint his target, then drag it down...
He nodded to Kacia to show he understood her explanation, glad that she hadn't ridiculed or scolded him for not knowing what he was doing. His father hadn't had time to teach him to hunt big game, his only lesson was catching a rabbit. From then on, since he had no one else to hunt with, he went after small game. Only ever having eaten herla when his parents brought them down, he was greatly anticipating feeling the warm blood oozing from his muzzle to the pit of his shrunken stomach.
Looking over at Kacia, he gave one last nod to let her know he was ready. A smile spread across his muzzle as he crouched lower, waiting for the deer to scatter and pandemonium to follow.

Erupting from her hiding spot near Dane, Kacia rushed toward the herla, panting as she covered the ground like lightning. Immediatly the herd responded as instinct prevailed, they panicked, running blindly away from the oncoming danger. The danger felt within every ounce of their being sending them to flee with only one thing on their mind: Life!
Her hot breath dragged behind her as she chased the healthy herla toward the forest to the east of her original southern posistion with Dane. Taking a chance she glanced back to see a slow young herla behind her yet still running, an old herla rearing in panic near where she original charged, and what appeared to be a sick herla trotting in a heaving manner after the youthful herla. She chased after the healthy herla a little longer before quickly cutting her course to circle back toward the weaker members.
Immediatly she smelt the fear of the herla in the air as she scanned the area to find Dane. Wonder filled her mind as to which Dane would choose to make their upcoming meal. Hopefully he would make the correct choice although all were available, she prefered one. Either way Kacia decided she would not tell Dane unless he failed to get one of the weak down at all, costing her a meal as well as wasted energy.

In a rush of unexpected energy, the deer bolted in all directions until their ravenous shepard emerged to chase them down. Dane watched, dumbfounded at the energy and finesse Kacia possessed, almost forgetting about the hunt altogether. His attention was reclaimed as he spotted a few stragglers from the herd.
The one closest to him was old and probably sickly, though it was the largest of the three main targets. While it was missing one antler, the other held 4 points atop its proud crown. Dane's pink tongue licked his chops and in a split second, he was off, chasing the dazed elder down. Seeing him, it bolted in the opposite direction Kacia had went. Its days were numbered already and its speed was unimpressive. It did not take long for Dane to gain on it, running up along side of it, making sure to stay clear of its powerful hind legs that had the potential of breaking his neck. Glossy black eyes were wide with fear as the pathetic beast tried to escape its inevitable demise. Choosing his moment, his cream colored legs stretched out in a giant leap, landing him nearly on the back of the fleeing beast as his powerful jaws tore into its soft neck.
Confused, the deer had lost its will to live, knowing that its end was now in sight. Its thundering hooves slowed as Dane pulled it forcefully down. Its legs were still twitching after the impact, but it was no use. Crimson life was already pouring from the gaping wound in its neck and onto the cold ground. Dane stood over his kill, watching as life slowly exited the body. How could something that just a moment ago was so large and powerful, now be lying here, reduced to a pathetic carcass? Dane didn't know, but he was proud of the feat he had accomplished, and Kacia too. He turned over his shoulder, looking back at where they had planned their attack, to see if she was visible. Had she seen him take down the herla? He hoped so, though more than anything, he wanted to eat.

A smile of satisfaction stained Kacia's maw as she galloped over to the fallen dying herla and the proud Dane standing over its body, blood dripping from his handsome face. It was a beautiful sight as the blood dyed the snow red around the old herla, Fenris' light illuminating the blood on Dane's sharp teeth as they both panted in the cool morning air. She slowed, stopping opposite of him still smiling with the smell of blood invading her olfactory system with prevelant power making her mouth water.
"Nice take down." Kacia said turning her attention to the wide eyed, suffering herla. Looking deep into the panicked putnar's black orbs she almost felt sorry but this was life. With an extremely quick lunge she severed something in the herla's neck making the eyes glaze over with the new presence of death. The smell of fear began to drift with the slight breeze, following the rest of the herla who began to slow to trots and walks realizing the danger had passed.
The warm blood felt good in her mouth but she hesitated a moment longer before eating, wondering if Dane would wish to have the official first piece of meat. Kacia moved her ears about to make sure no other varg's were near to attempt thievery which would not be a wise choice with her and Dane's matching attitudes coupled with their ravenous appetite. Blinking in the growing intensity of Fenris Kacia decided to go ahead and eat.
Grabbing an adequate size piece of the herla's shoulder in her muscular jaws she bit down forcefully, pulling the flesh and pelt free of the bone. It was delightfully warm in her mouth as she chewed then swallowed the piece before digging in for another bite. The shoulder was her favorite place to obtain her meat. Although quite tough it was also juicy, full of muscles waiting to be devoured. No longer feeling cold she focused on what she was doing making quite a large hole in the shoulder without much effort.

((I hope this is an ok spot to join )) Trotting through the thick brush the young black varg smiled at the trees around him. It was a sunny day and Dakota was feeling perticullarly spirited. His resent kill (a young vixen) dangled from his mouth as he made his way throughout the trees. Coming to a clearing Dakota heard voices ahead of him and the distinct sound of a dying deer. He thought he recognized one voice, but still unsure Dakota moved a little slower into the edge of the trees and looked out in front of him. Seeing the 2 varg in frount of him Dakota almost dropped his kill. He did recognize that voice. "Dane...", he whispered. Stepping a little further into the clearing he waited to see who would notice him first.

((Yep, it's fine ^^))
With the intoxicating smell of the kill wafting up to his nostrils, it was hard to concentrate on what Kacia was saying to him. Nevertheless, he managed a "Thankyou" before scoping out the carcass before him. Never having eaten herla, he didn't know where the best meat was, so he just ripped out a chunk of the throat and swallowed it down. As the warm blood flowed down his throat and into his stomach, he was amazed at what he had been missing out on. "This is really good," he commented to Kacia between taking bites off the kill. "We should go hunting like this more often," the smile returned to his muzzle as he continued to gorge himself on the spoils.
His large ears swiveled as he ate, searching for signs of danger and just surveying the area in general. Light footfalls were audible through the trees ahead, and Dane raised his head to stand up staright once again and search for whoever it was approaching. His strong face lit up, showing a flash of emotion, before the spark died down a bit. "Dakota, fancy seeing you here," his words were not harsh or cruel, but familiar. Licking the gore from his muzzle, he spoke again. "What have you been up to?"

Musing what Dane might have meant by suggesting they hunt more often, Kacia took no notice of Dakota until Dane began to speak. Shaken from her daze she continued to eat, atlhough her pace was slowing as she eyed the new varg warily. He was a handsome black varg with bright emerald eyes who seemed slightly younger than Dane but perhaps she was mistaken. "Dakota..." she thought to herself as if making a mental note to not forget his name, held a dead vixen limply in his strong jaws. That was quite an entrance, so she kept her eyes on him as she carefully licked the moist red herla meat away from her maw, not wanting to appear as a creepy savage fae... but she was. Wasn't she? Unsure she cleared her thoughts to focus on their conversation.
Kacia shifted her wieght on her large paws unsure if she should address the new varg or not. Simply her large almond eyes bounced from Dane to Dakota as she paused, deciding to not continue eating while an introduction may be made. Afterall, he was well, a he which was perfectly fine and also a friend of Dane's so she might as well be presentable. However, if it was a fae, friend of Dane or not a snarl would have already erupted from deep inside her. Dakota also arrived with his own meal, leading Kacia to believe he was not after their kill either.
Feeling quite relaxed, her stomach almost full she let Dakota's new scent overwhelm her. Of course it was much different from Dane's but she rather enjoyed it. He smelled free, wild, wreckless unlike Dane who smelled of anxiety, lonliness, and loathing. She perked her ears to catch any words that Dakota might utter, swishing her tail as a cool breeze swept around the three vargs.
Fenris now spreading daylight among the land, hiding Tor managed to warm her pelt after the breeze subsided as well as cast an odd illumination on the three varg standing at the edge of the woods. The image brought a small smile to Kacia's maw as she awaited Dakota's response.

Setting the dead fox onto the earth in front of him Dakota flashed the 2 varg a lopsided grin. He was momentarly surprised to see Dane at all but with another varg? Then agian his once icy personalty had melted a little when Dakota got to know him as well.
"Oh you know me...", he answered eyeing the pretty Fae in front of him. Winking at Dane he added "Just making trouble for eveveryone around me." Dakota remembered when he had first met Dane, he had been positive that the older varg would be a pain to deal with. But with time he had grown quite attached to the wolf with mis-matched eyes. Looking down at the fresh kill infront of the two varg Dakota remembered his own meal waiting, although he suddenly wasn't as excited about it. "Don't let me disturb you." , he said smiling at the Fae. "By all means, finish you meal"
Feeling the warmth around him Dakota closed his eyes a moment and just savered the day. The smells that the slight breeze was bringing were light and happy. Like the forest that he wondered in, and Dakota's body shook with energy as he took it all in.

He hadn't seen Dakota in suns and surely hadn't expected to see him here, now... This all must've looked rather odd to Dakota too, seeing Dane with another varg after he had been so cold? He himself was also surprised at how much he had opened up, to the both of them... He smiled at Dakota, and even chuckled a bit at his words. He had brought a kill with him, though Dane would have gladly shared the herla, as it was big enough to feed a whole pack and then some. Though he wasn't sure if Kacia would be comfortable with that... Kacia! He had forgotten to introduce her to Dakota, how rude [though with Dane, rudeness was included, free of charge].
He eyed the femme a moment, wondering what she was thinking. Her hackles hadn't rose, a very different reaction to an approaching varg than she had shown earlier to the young fae. If she was disturbed by Dakota's company, she was hiding it exceptionally well. Having eaten his fill, he licked the crimson stain from his face before speaking. "Kacia, this is Dakota, my first, and for too long, only friend. Dakota, meet Kacia," as he said her name, he bowed his head in her direction slightly, showing just how fond he was of his new acquaintence. Lifting his head, a smirk crossed his muzzle as he wondered how the two of them would get along. "Go ahead and eat Dakota, you're not disturbing us in the least. I was wondering when I would see you again, you little rogue," he said a bit playfully for his distant nature.

Smiling at Dane's words Dakota shifted his bright gaze in Kacia's direction. Bowing his dark head at the fae he said "Pleased to meet you Kacia. I see you were able to break through Dane's rough exterior, I'm impressed!" He grinned at Dane agian showing off his sharp white teeth.
"I was wondering the same thing." he said to Dane. The lopsided grin returning to his face at Dane's teasing. "I am a bit hungry, although it has definatly subsided in the excitement of meeting an old friend and perhaps a new one all in the same day!" Picking up his kill Dakota moved a little closer to the two compainions and took a large bite out of the warm vixen meat. "How did you two meet anyway?", he said between bites. "I haven't seen many other varg around here, so it must have been luck that threw the two of you together."
Finishing off the rest of his kill he eyed the two varg in front of him. He wanted to say more but his mide seemed to have left him now. He couldn't think of one intelligent thing to say, so he just sat back and watched them, waiting for the young wolves reactions.
