So lucky.... *growls* I have three cats that hate us so, along with six fish, but they don't count. *sigh* I wish I had a dog. The last time we had one was when I was five.....
*growls* I hate cats that don't love you.....

Hey, little dogs are great! My little mutt is adorable, intelligent and grand. People shouldn’t diss all small dogs just because of their size or what people assume their personality is like. That’s just like saying all pit bulls are killers. Yea some are not great, but not all of them. They are just like big dogs in that way, some suck some don’t. It all depends on the one dog. –end mini rant-

Sharpey? I thought it was.. Sharpei? Or something.
What the hell is a taco terrier..
It's not that people hate little dogs for their personalities, it's that they're little... irritatingly small rat things. No matter how they act or how smart they are, it all comes down to looks with most people when they judge which dog(s) they like better. As people judge other people.
kbye.

well i guess its just cause little doggs are overrated dont you think? Everyone has a little dog. Andi sorta thikn its judged that way because of how everyone treats their 'little' dog you know. At the pet store almost everyone i see is holding/cuddling their little dogs. for the love of god they can WALK themselves -_-
i'll tell you want the cutest little dog ever iss, a miniture dobie pincher squeee!

Well, since I made myself clear that I dislike little dogs, I'll make Moon Seeker feel better by saying that the best little dogs are mutts. They usually look really cool and very original (as mutts are prone to look) and have the better personalities over most dogs their size.
minpins creep me out plz.

Your dog looks emo with that amazing head hair. Dye it black and comb it into his face.
Looks like a little mutt my aunt used to have named Henry. . . .
I'd have to say the stupidest dogs I've ever seen are cocker spaniels and Dalmatians. And my blue-heeler, though he's extremely intelligent, can get irritating because he's got so much energy. Oh well, at least he's ace at agility trials. -shrug- I wish they'd sell more purebred wolves rather than german shepherd x wolf hybrids because they think pure wolves are too vicious. I mean, come on, there are only like 20 purebred wuffs sold a year when compared to the 8923428734 hybrids.
Aren't blue-eyed dogs adorably creepy?

Totally have given her the emo bang before, and foehawks. She’s fun to style. –cough-
Nurr blue eyed dogs are amazzzing. There was(now dead) a beautiful nearly all white husky female with bright blue eyes living near me. So pretty, though it’s like they stare directly into your soul any time they look at you. –shiver- Though the bright almost gold/amber ones that appear in some dogs are quite pretty too.

Purebred wolves shouldn't be sold to willy-nilly owners. NOPE NOPE NOPE.
Not that they're vicious or agressive or need to be in the wild or anything. SImply for the fact that they are not dogs. They are not as easy to train in the ways of 'sit' 'stay' etc. They are wild animals, and though may have been born in captivity and into a domestic world, it doesn't change their nature. Wolfdogs are the same. So many have to be re-homed every year because of careless owners thinking 'wow! it's so wolf-like!' that they treat the animal like a dog and don't give it the proper treatment it needs.
The diet is far stricter, it needs plenty of outdoor access and space. And must be dominated. They tend to be very shy and nervous, which isn't always handled in the best way by owners. Anyone who wants to own a wolfdog - i've been told - needs to have serious considerations about it. It's always best to work with them first before thinking about adopting one.
Sorry, I know people will probably moan at me and correct me on that. But I've always wanted a wolfdog or a wolf-look-a-like dog and ever since working with dogs and talking to someone who owns a pack of them I've learnt now not to just assume that they'll be great...but that every breed of dog and those closer related to wolves have different personalities and characteristics.

Pure bred wolves should NOT be sold at all. Not to anyone. In my opinion those who truely love and care for the species relize they are not pets and thus don't try to force them into that role.
Wolf-Dogs should not be bred either. I can see rescuing one -only- if you had the much needed experiance required. Buying from a breeder or breeding your own however is just stupid. For me, its no better then puppy mills. Just people exploiting wolves for high prices, all being sold to other ignorant people who have no clue what they are doing.

My dad's friend owns a few hybrid wolf/dogs. But here in Florida, they have to be no more than 75-80% wolf blood, I think. you also have to have a license. He knows what he's doing, however, and has been raising wolfdogs for several years. Other than the territory and "chain of command" that comes with instinct, he says they're real escape artists. Not only do that dig anywhere to around four-five feet deep, but they can climb fences in a wag of the tail.
If someone does want to own a hybrid, they should know what there doing, like he does.
I recently bought a dog breed book, and if you want a wolf looking dog, I found two. They are considered pure bred dogs, but still, are not suitable for first time owners. ((I'm not sure if you meant wolfdogs as in these two, or as in the hybrids or wolf crosses, Tor.))
Saarloos Wolfdog- a German shepherd bred with a wolf cross in 1921.
Czechoslovakian wolfdog- German Shepherd bred with a Carpathian Timber Wolf in 1955. (They act more like wolves, thus need a strong capable handler)
Oh yes, and you two who have been saying small dogs should die- have you ever owned a small dog? Just because their small, doesn't mean they're all mean and yappy. It depends on their personality of each dog, and the breed. Mostly personality, since each dogs has a different one. I personally prefer big dogs, just because they're big, and I never even wanted a small dog. My friend's sweet, quiet teacup chihuahua and my own Jack Russel mix changed my opinion.

Dakota I have seen (well more than seen but I'll just say it that way) Husky breeders advertise their dogs as wolf crosses in order to sell them. I even had a conversation with one breeder who admitted it was a fast way to make money to feed into the wolf owning fashion that laymen like to entertain. Though these dogs had absolutely NO wolf in them.
The new owners insist that their dogs are part wolf just because the person they bought the dog from said so. They paid a nice chunk of cash to be tricked. But I agree that wolves should not be pets.
I have had strangers insist my show dogs are partial wolf because they have blue eyes or other wolf like features. I always answer "My dog better not be part wolf I bred him/her" Then these people continue on by insisting that they at one time or another owned a wolf cross and they know a wolf when they see one.
But I realize that anytime i am in public with my dogs things like this will come up.

Mine would have to be a border collie. They have a black border collie, a red border collie, and a blue border collie!!! But why can't they have a pink border collie?? Seriously, I bet a lot of people (mostly girls) like me would buy them, or adopt them! Well with my chihuahua, I tried to paint her nails pink, but she ended up biting me! It hurt, and all I wanted to do is make her nails pretty..... why don't dogs understand me? I would love to have a border collie though!! They are so totally AWESOME!!!
